Benedictus Qui Venit in Nomini Domine, Hosanna in Excelsis, part forty-two
The government of the United States of America has a long and quite inglorious history of supporting the slaughter of those who have been deemed “problematic” by the regimes of nations considered either “friendly” to this country or, at the very least, economically and commercially “useful” to its security and/or financial interests.
Indeed, it was a century ago that the administration of President John Calvin Coolidge forbade American arms manufacturers from selling munitions to the Cristeros while permitting the arms merchants to sell freely to the Masonic-Communist government directed by Plutarco Elias Calles when he was formally in power as the President of the United Mexican States and when he was the power behind the throne of his successor, Emilio Portes Gil, in 1929 when the administration of President Herbert Clark Hoover agreed to send to military aircraft and heavy artillery to crush the Cristeros.
This direct American military assistance to the Masonic-Communist revolutionaries in Mexico was presaged by then President Thomas Woodrow Wilson’s utter indifference to the slaughter of Catholics by anticlerical Masons and Communists in Mexico in the second decade of the Twentieth Century. Wilson expressed his “regrets” about the bloodshed being waged against Mexican Catholics but believe that “liberal ideas” would come of the bloodshed as he believed had happened during the French Revolution:
Wilson replied [in 1915, to Father Francis Clement Kelley, who was a representative of James Cardinal Gibbons, the Archbishop of Baltimore, for whom Wilson had such contempt that he addressed him as Mister Gibbons]: 'I have no doubt but that the terrible things you mention have happened during the Mexican revolution. But terrible things happened also during the French revolution, perhaps more terrible things than have happened in Mexico. Nevertheless, out of that French revolution came the liberal ideas that have dominated in so many countries, including our own. I hope that out of the bloodletting in Mexico some such good yet may come.'
"Having thus instructed his caller in the benefits which must perforce accrue to mankind out of the systematic robbery, murder, torture and rape of people holding a proscribed religious conviction, the professor of politics [Wilson] suggested that Father Kelley visit Secretary of State Williams Jennings Bryan, who expressed his deepest sympathy. Obviously, the Wilson administration was committed to supporting the revolutionaries (Robert Leckie American and Catholic, Doubleday, 1970, pp. 274.)
In other words, Thomas Woodrow Wilson really believed that it was "necessary" for the Freemasonic/Communist Mexican government that enjoyed his favor to kill Catholics, whose "backward" beliefs were impediments to the institutionalization of "liberal values" that required him to suppress all opposition to his policies right here in the United States of America.
Father Francis Clement Kelley became the founding Bishop of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and it was during his time there that he wrote about the persecutions of Catholics in the third and fourth decades of the Twentieth Century that exceeded those that had met with the approval of the militant anti-Catholic Wilson in the second decade. Bishop Kelley’s Blood Drenched Altars contains a quotation from Father Brian von Hove, S.J., about the continuation of the persecutions in the years after the Vatican-negotiated “peace settlement” in 1929:
The first things (sic) Calles did after peace had been made was to shoot down 500 Cristero leaders. The six years of the entente Cordiale between Calles and the Church have been the six bloodiest years in the history of Mexico.
Actually, Elizonde puts the figure at 400, but perhaps the exact number will never be known. Calles was responsible for the killing. Plutarco Elías Calles, President of Mexico from 1924 to 1928, was depicted in the "BCR" the way Nicolai Ceausescu was in the popular press of 1989. When Calles left office in 1928 he controlled the government from behind the scenes, and he dominated the life of the country until 1934 when his rival Lázaro Cárdenas won out. How did Calles control the whole country for so long? Very simple _ by owning the army. Cárdenas prevented him from making a final comeback in 1936. No one has ever been able to explain adequately Calles' extreme and irrational hatred for the Church. Perhaps it was a combination of greed and Jacobin ideology. In any case, Cárdenas also hated the Church, but his fanaticism was more pragmatic and times had changed by the mid-30s.
The "BCR" described the 1929 revenge upon the Catholic "freedom fighters" more fully by setting the figure at 500 leaders and 5,000 ordinary men who were shot, often in their homes in front of their families. Their property was then seized, leaving the survivors destitute. Elizonde clearly says that the obedience of the Mexican Catholics to the request of the Holy See was a disaster for the Church, and ended only in betrayal. The American Jesuit Wilfred Parsons, on the other hand, claims Archbishop Pascual Díaz, SJ, of Mexico City, disagreed with those of Elizonde's persuasion, and thought the decision to seek a military solution was mistaken in the first place (Father Brian Van Hove, S.J, quoted in Bishop Francis Clement Kelley’s Blood-Drenched Altars.)
Although I am not going to revisit here the various points made in detail in my Then, Now, and Always: Viva Cristo Rey! series from fourteen years ago, the following excerpt from one of those parts demonstrates how the Wilson himself, who hated the Catholic Church and barely tolerated Catholics on a personal level, helped the draft the anticlerical provisions of the 1917 Mexican constitution:
Dr. Michael Kenny explained the direct involvement of Woodrow Wilson in the drafting of the provisions of the 1917 Mexican Constitution, tracing Wilson's beliefs right back to those of Joel R. Poinsett and the actions of the cipher known as James Buchanan, who served as President of the United States from March 4, 1857, to March 4, 1861:
It has been shown by documented proof that our first United States Envoy organized a Masonic political machine for the dominance of Mexico by ousting the Catholic Church and its culture from school and temple and the hearts of its people, and by securing therefor the armed forces of the United States at the price of half its territory and of preponderance over all.
We have also seen how the price was paid, and how from Buchanan to Wilson we furnished arms and armies and whatever other aid was requisite to empower bandit factions to eradicate religion and culture and civil liberties.
Mr. Wilson differed from his predecessors in making his intrusions work directly to this effect by empowering and sanctioning the Carranza Constitution of 1917. Mr. Yon Lind had wried him to bring he rule of intellectuals to an end. His own confidential agent to Carranza, a Methodist preacher named Silliman, wrote in like tone; and The United States Foreign Relation Papers of 1914., sq., which make humiliating reading, show their principals eager following these agents' advices' but Duval West of San Antonio, their only gent that told the truth, was recalled.
There were no intellectuals at what they called the Constitutional Convention of Queretaro, but there were ex-lawyers, who, like the other members, had won representative right by pillaging distinctions, and were keen to concoct a legal contrivance that would guarantee their plunder and perpetuate the plundering. This they did in the 1917 "Constitution," an extension into organic law of the worst enactments in the Juarez Code against religion and liberty.
Though devoid of every constitutional character, having been imposed by self-nominated bandit chiefs who pistoled the few moderates into silence and never submitted it for ratification, this monstrous instrument has living interest today as the basis for Calles' organic and executive monstrosities, and as a Wilsonian legacy which no successor of Mr. Wilson had yet disowned and which the Secretary of his then empowering Navy is now sedulously guarding. How sedulously Mr. Daniels is caring in our name for the child of his fostering will appear when we have made some stud of this constitutional monster whose potencies Calles has actualized and applied systematically in totalitarian destructiveness.
The Juarez Code, though intentionally prohibitive of all religious rights, left loopholes here and there through which churchmen and others marked for despoilment might enter claims for possession or indemnity, and it failed to afford sufficient scope to the war chiefs of [Pancho] Villa pattern for legalized plunder. This the Carranza Constitution fully achieved; even though Carranza himself was more tool than the chieftain of the plunderers. Picked by the bandit chiefs whom our navy and army monies and diplomacies had lifted into power, the members of the convention represented but the motley forces we had armed and paid for, and certainly not a half million of the fifteen million population.
This crude misrepresentation achieved, however, one result of permanent and perilous importance. Dropping the smoke screen of "Constitutionalist," which had been thrown up to accommodate Mr. Wilson, they called themselves the National Revolutionary Party; and, claiming to represent all the people of Mexico they initiated the Calles dogma that the P.N.R. [later the P. R. I.] (Partido Nacional Revolucionario) was the one and only party permissible, and there cannot and must not be another. (Dr. Michael Kenny, No God Next Door: Red Rule in Mexico and Our Responsibility, William J. Hirten Company, Inc., New York, 1935, republished by CSG and Associates Publishers, pp. 69-71.)
Carranza, grateful to Woodrow Wilson for engineering his rise to power, may have abandoned the practice of the Catholic Faith. Murdered that he was, and he did murder his own fair share of political opponents, he asked the Mexican Congress to amend Article 130 of the 1917 Constitution to permit "liberty of conscience." his plea fell on deaf ears. He knew his time was up, attempting to flee to Vera Cruz, found shot to death in a hut after the engineer of the train he was riding to escape from Mexico City had discovered that the track ahead had been torn up. Agents of Plutarco Elias Calles's immediate predecessor, Alvaro Obregon, are speculated to have bribed the three men guarding President Venustiano Carranza to shoot hit as he slept on May 21, 1920.
Bishop Kelley wrote as follows about this tragic man's end:
Later, when his portfolio was received by his family, they found in it a crucifix and a little religious medal. On the latter was the inscription: "Madre Mia Salve Me--Mother mine save me." He had done a brave thing to go before the Congress with a request to change the provisions of the Constitution and end the religious persecution. He must have known that it was a brave thing to do with enemies all around him, and Obregon, back by the C.R.O.M., in the filed against him. It can be said that for him that he kept his word to President Wilson at the cost of his life. Perhaps the memories of the old days in Saltillo when he ad respected religion, though he did not seem to practice it, had helped him to be brave. Certainly no revolutionist who understood the situation would have advised him to do what he did. Perhaps he felt that the end had come and that he could at last tell the truth. Perhaps he realized that since his own hand had unloosed the whirlwind, he had no right to complain if it sucked him into swirling death. (Bishop Francis Clement Kelley, Blood-Drenched Altars, published originally in 1935 by the Bruce Publishing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and republished by TAN Books and Publishers in 1987, pp. 244-245.)
The die had been cast, however. The forces unleashed by Joel R. Poinsett in the 1820s would be powerful enough to seek a wholesale frontal assault on Christ the King and Our Lady of Guadalupe, who won Mexico for the Catholic Faith from the barbaric Aztecs, whose true ideological and religious descendants govern us in the "civilized" United States of America today to continue, albeit, at least for now, by less "nonviolent" means (although the innocent preborn and those being carved up alive in hospitals for their body members would disagree), the same crusade that was carried on with such zeal by the likes of Plutarco Elias Calles.
Time and time again, one American presidential administration after another has sided with those intent on targeting Catholics, especially here in the Americas, but also in Europe by Woodrow Wilson at the Versailles Peace conference in 1919 as he sought to break up the remnants of the Holy Roman Empire to create secular, “liberal” Judeo-Masonic republics in his mistaken belief that Catholicism had caused World War I, which was actually caused by the consequences of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King by the Protestant Revolutionaries and cemented by Judeo-Masonry with the rise of anticlerical, nationalistic regimes all throughout Western Europe intent on creating that “new world order” without Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church, and the utter intellectual cipher named Franklin Delano Roosevelt of the Hyde Park Roosevelts, who was a thirty-third degree Mason as was his fifth cousin, Theodore Roosevelt of the Sagamore Hill Roosevelts, provided covert aid to the anticlerical, Catholic killing Communist revolutionaries in Spain starting in 1938 after two years of a “noninterventionist” policy.
More often than not, you see, one American presidential administration after another, has supported those intent on social engineering by means of mass murderer, and the unjust, immoral, and unconstitutional war that the mass murdering Zionist named Benjamin Netanyahu convinced President Donald John Trump to undertake nearly seven months ago has given Netanyahu cover to “finish the job” of liquidating Palestinians in Gaza, of providing meaningless statements of regret over the pogroms in the West Bank being effected by marauding Zionist thugs, and of destroying much of southern Lebanon as part of the Greater Israel project, and he is doing this with the full military support of the Trump administration:
The Trump administration has approved a $2.8 billion sale of heavy bombs to Israel, according to a U.S. official, in what would be among the largest deliveries of U.S. munitions there even as American public support for the country declines.
The proposed sale would include 40,000 one-ton bombs whose use by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon has drawn international anger because of the civilian harm caused by their wide blast radius.
Human rights groups and some foreign governments have condemned Israel for dropping the giant munitions in densely populated areas, sometimes killing dozens of civilians in strikes targeting just one individual.
The package would include 20,000 each of America’s 2,000-pound MK-84 and BLU-117 bombs. It would also provide Israel with 20,000 bunker-busting I-2000 penetrator warheads, which explode on delay after smashing through an outer surface like soil, rock or concrete. The plan was reported earlier by The Washington Post.
The blast from a 2,000-pound bomb can be lethal at more than 1,000 feet and leave a crater as deep as 50 feet. Israel provoked a fierce outcry after it dropped hundreds of the heavy bombs on Gaza.
The State Department recently sent the proposed deal to two congressional committees to get informal approval, the U.S. official said.
On Wednesday, one day after news organizations published reports of the proposed sale, Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said in a statement that he would not approve the exports. That act will require the Trump administration to decide whether to bypass Congress and move forward with the sale, as it has done before with arms to Israel.
Mr. Meeks said the 2,000-pound bombs are “some of the most destructive munitions in our arsenal,” and Mr. Trump’s proposed sale to Israel “raises grave, unresolved concerns about how these munitions could be used in densely populated areas of Gaza and Lebanon.”
In mid-2024, the Biden administration paused a shipment of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel because of concern about their use in crowded civilian areas. President Trump allowed the shipment to proceed days after taking office last January.
Then in February, the Trump administration agreed to sell roughly $2.7 billion in munitions to Israel, a package that included 35,000 of the one-ton MK-84 and BLU-117 bombs.
While congressional leaders can tell the Trump administration that they oppose the deal, Secretary of State Marco Rubio can exercise emergency powers to proceed with the sale regardless, as he has done repeatedly, or just say he is moving forward with it. The administration would then bypass getting informal approval from Congress and formally announce the sale is happening.
In those cases, both the House and Senate would need to pass a resolution to block the deal. Such a resolution would require the support of two-thirds of each body to guarantee it can overcome a presidential veto.
The Biden administration also declared an emergency in the region to bypass congressional approval and expedite shipments of arms to Israel twice during the Israel-Gaza war. One of those packages included 13,000 rounds of tank ammunition, and the second included artillery munitions.
Production and delivery of the munitions usually takes months or years, if administrations do not expedite the process.
The State Department’s approval of such a large package of devastating munitions reflects Mr. Trump’s continued strong support for Israel despite his recent disputes with its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, over the country’s military operations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. Mr. Netanyahu is expected to be in New York next week to address the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.
The State Department said in a statement that as a matter of policy it would not confirm or comment on a proposed arms sale that has not been formally notified to Congress.
The proposed deal is sure to draw strong opposition among Democrats in Congress, some of whom have called for ending all U.S. aid to Israel in response to the huge civilian toll of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza after the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel.
But anger toward Israel has also risen among Mr. Trump’s traditional supporters. The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson posted a tirade on social media that excoriated Israel for what he called the “slaughter” of Palestinians in Gaza.
Mr. Carlson also said that the added destructive power would embolden Israel and fuel the conflict with Iran launched jointly by the U.S. and Israel in February. Mr. Carlson has adamantly opposed the offensive and blames Mr. Netanyahu for convincing Mr. Trump to approve it. “If you wanted to extend the Iran war into the indefinite future, this is exactly what you’d do,” Mr. Carlson wrote.
Israel argues that Hamas fighters in Gaza and Hezbollah militants in Lebanon intentionally embed themselves among civilians — sometimes in bunkers or tunnels that require heavy munitions to penetrate — to force Israel to kill innocent civilians and face international pressure.
But many former U.S. officials and military analysts question whether Israel has been too quick to pass up less destructive alternatives. The U.S. provides Israel a base line of $3.8 billion a year in military assistance, including $3.3 billion in financing that Israel largely uses to purchase American weapons, which includes the latest sale of bombs.
Another $500 million in U.S. aid is earmarked annually for joint missile-defense programs. Mr. Trump has repeatedly butted heads with Mr. Netanyahu over Israel’s military operations outside its borders, which have on several occasions complicated U.S. efforts to negotiate lasting peace in Gaza and to resolve the conflict with Iran — to Mr. Trump’s great frustration.
But Mr. Trump has expressed far less public concern about civilian casualties than did Mr. Biden, who also was sharply criticized for being too tolerant of such deaths. (Trump Approves $2.8 Billion Arms Sale to Israel, Including 40,000 One-Ton Bombs.)
After the US was essentially forced to conduct a major and rapid draw down of forces from the Gulf and Mideast region in the wake of Iran’s ‘unexpectedly’ large retaliation for Operation Epic Fury, it seems all that Washington is left to do is arm regional allies to the teeth and wish them the best.
Early this month the US approved two potential Saudi defense packages valued at a whopping $5.75 billion. The forthcoming deals will reportedly focus on transferring extended-range precision bombs and bolstering Abrams tanks in the kingdom.
Ironically this comes at a moment that Saudi-backed coalition forces in Yemen – with all its military tech – are getting rolled back by Ansar Allah fighters in sandals.
Naturally, next on the list comes Israel.
On Tuesday, over a week since the planned Saudi sale was reported, The Washington Post reveals the following:
President Donald Trump’s administration is planning to sell to Israel a munitions package worth $2.8 billion, which will include tens of thousands of highly destructive 2,000-pound bombs, according to a U.S. official familiar with the sale.
The planned sale, which has been informally communicated to relevant congressional committees who weigh in on large arms sales, includes 20,000 MK 84s and 20,000 BLU-117s, the official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said.
WaPo calls the package “the largest” planned sale of 2,000 pound bombs to Israel in years.
Just prior to initial reporting of this dropping at around midday Tuesday, Tucker Carlson revealed on X: “According to an informed federal official, in the coming months the Trump administration plans to send a total of 40,000 Mark 84 and Blu-117 bombs to the government of Israel. Each bomb weighs 2,000 pounds. This appears to be the largest transfer of conventional explosive ordnance from the United States in modern history.”
Carlson put it in perspective in the following commentary:
How big is this shipment? It amounts to 40,000 tons of bombs. For perspective, the largest American air raid of World War Two was the Eighth Air Force’s attack on Berlin in March of 1945. Combined, the 2,023 Allied aircraft involved dropped about 3,000 tons of bombs. That’s 7.5 percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. That same month, March of 1945, the US Army Air Forces began the single most destructive bombing raid in human history, Operation Meetinghouse over Tokyo. More than 100,000 Japanese civilians were killed. By the end of that operation, the US had dropped 1,600 tons of bombs. That’s four percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. World War Two ended five months later, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. The shipment Trump is sending to Israel amounts to more than three times the destructive power of that nuclear explosion. There is no precedent for what the Trump administration is doing. Nor is there a justification. The government of Israel is not fighting World War Two, or even a war. It is engaged in periodic skirmishes with a guerrilla force in Lebanon, and it is working to exterminate an unarmed civilian population in Gaza. Neither front requires modern 2,000-pound bombs.
The former Fox host further warned this portends Israel could soon go even more ‘gloves off’ and unleash further hell on Gaza and Lebanon, or possibly even Iran – at a moment the US seems to be trying to find an exit from the hot phase of the conflict.
More from Carlson:
How did this happen? The request for 40,000 new high-explosive civilian-killing bombs originated at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, which is run by Christian Zionist Ambassador Mike Huckabee and his aide David Milstein, who is the stepson of Fox News host Mark Levin. From there it moved to the State Department, where Marco Rubio enthusiastically approved it. At this point, only four more people need to sign off before the bombs ship to Israel: Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen, the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; and Congressmen Brian Mast and Gregory Meeks, the top two members of the equivalent House committee. All four are committed neocons. Collectively they’ve taken millions from the Israel lobby. In 2015, Brian Mast traveled to Israel to volunteer for the Israeli military. In 2023, Mast showed up in the House of Representatives wearing an IDF uniform. It’s hard to imagine any of them hesitating before sending more free bombs to Israel. Only public outrage can stop this.
Poll after recent poll has shown that by and large the American public is finally questioning Washington’s blank check approach to Israel.
DropSite:
Carlson calls the taxpayer-funded, roughly $3 billion package “a gift” to a government “working to exterminate an unarmed civilian population in Gaza.”
And plenty of MAGA and conservative ‘influencers’ have called out Trump’s Israel policy as opposite America First. This as the Iran war is continuing to prove to be deeply unpopular. This also after over 70,000 people have been killed in Gaza. Israeli officials themselves openly admitted this figure. (Tucker Carlson Sounds Alarm Over Trump's Planned 'Largest Transfer Of Ordinance In Modern History'.)
The only purpose of these two-thousand-pound bombs is to kill civilians, a fact that the genocidal Zionists obfuscate by claiming to be fighting “terrorists,” meaning that any Palestinian or other Arab is a “potential terrorist” and, as such, can be targeted for elimination. As the hour is late and I don’t recall the exact entry in this series which contained the documentation for this, there was an Israeli official earlier this year who said all Palestinians, even women and children, can be seen as terrorists and thus become “legitimate targets” of the Israeli government’s Greater Israel project.
Indeed, while President Trump threatens Iran with “annihilation” for the umpteenth gazillion time (see Trump tells Axios that he's approaching a critical decision whether to "annihilate" Iran ), Benjamin Netanyahu is gleefully saying that he is the only one who complete the “mission” of guaranteeing “Israel’s national security.” Translation: Bibi is the only one who will finish off the Palestinians of the Holy Land, including the very few remaining Catholics whose property is being ransacked and seized by Israeli “settlers” in the West Bank:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has kicked off his Likud Party’s election campaign by saying he and his party “are the only ones who can guarantee Israel’s security”.
“The mission must be completed; we must bring down the Iranian regime and totally destroy Hezbollah and Hamas,” he said in his speech ahead of the October 27 elections.
Netanyahu went on to list Israeli military operations in Iran, Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip since 2023, accusing his rivals of wanting to make “territorial concessions” and pointing to the presence of Israeli troops in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza as evidence that “we take land instead of giving it”. (Iran war live: Trump mulls Tehran’s ‘annihilation’ as combat roils Yemen.)
The conciliar sect’s Latin “patriarch” of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, has seen the Israeli destruction of Gaza and the West Bank with his own eyes:
He added “the fact that there is a situation of continuous aggression by (Israeli) settlers is well established” after his visit to the besieged Christian town of Taybeh just two weeks ago.
Home to around 1,500 residents and referred to in the Gospel of John as Ephraim — the place where Jesus Christ withdrew with his disciples before his Passion — Taybeh has endured over a year of escalating systematic attacks from Jewish terrorists living in “settlements” and “outposts” all deemed illegal under international law.
Israeli strategy of ‘pressuring Palestinian families into leaving their land’
Father Bashar Fawadleh, the Latin parish priest of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, has characterized the ongoing assaults as “a deliberate strategy of harassment” designed “to create a climate of fear and pressure Palestinian families into leaving their land.”
Since at least July 2025, the Christians of Taybeh have been subjected to regular raids of aggression by heavily armed Israeli settler terrorists who have committed acts of arson to Palestinian Christian agricultural fields, including igniting a fire near the fifth-century Church of St. George and its cemetery, hurling Molotov cocktails at homes and attempting to ignite a gas station.
They have set many vehicles ablaze and written threatening graffiti across private property, brought their livestock to graze on private Christian Palestinian lands, roamed the streets heavily armed terrorizing residents, with reports of gunfire upon Christian citizens, and more, all in a climate of impunity provided by the occupying Israeli army.
In a change of events earlier this month, Israel designated Taybeh a “closed military zone,” ostensibly to protect the residents from the settler occupiers. However, local Christian officials and residents characterized the action as “an attempt to further tighten the noose on villagers” and “ethnically cleanse” Taybeh “in silence” without witnesses. (Pizzaballa decries Israelis' ‘continuous aggression’ in West Bank.)
Not one word of protest about these injustices have issued forth from the ever-moving mouth and never-ending posts of one Donald John Trump, who is determined to keep arming the Israelis in his Captain Ahab quest to stop the murderous Mohammedans of Teheran from acquiring a nouclear weapon, which they were nowhere near developing when what was promised to be a “short war” (“maybe a few weeks, a little over six weeks, or a month or two”) began and that has now succeeded in driving global energy costs through the roof, enabled the Houthis to seize Red Sea ports in Yemen and to bomb Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline:
We’re at the end of the line. After seven months of unprovoked warfare, the situation in the Middle East has ballooned into a full-blown crisis. Overnight, Saudi oil exports have fallen to zero. ZERO! Let that sink in for a minute. The “world’s largest oil producer” is presently exporting NO oil. Persian Gulf terminals are effectively shut down due to the war with Iran while the East-West pipeline—the main overland bypass that moves 4 to 5 million barrels per day to the Red Sea terminal at Yanbu—was blown up at nine different locations on Thursday (by Iraqi drones) and is no longer operable. That means no Saudi oil is going to market for the first time in history. Does that sound like a catastrophe to you? Does that sound like something that’s going to require an immediate response from Trump and Co?
But, so far, Trump’s only response has been the meandering statement he made at a Friday press conference. Here’s what he said:
“The Houthis called us. They don’t want to fight with us. They let us know they don’t want to fight with us. They don’t want us to go after them. They would much prefer not having us involved, and they are letting most ships go through. There’s just one country they’re not too happy with. (link)
This is nonsense. Trump hasn’t spoken to the Houthis nor does he know what they want. The president’s comments just shows that Trump’s advisors were caught off-guard and haven’t settled on a response yet. But what’s clear to everyone watching this farce is that it’s all being orchestrated by Iran. It was Iran’s allies in Iraq that struck the east-west pipeline just as the “Iran-backed” Houthis who seized Mocha and Perim Island. Here’s a recap:
An unexpected blitz on the coastal city of Mocha has tightened the Houthis grip on one of the world’s most critical waterways. The surprise offensive which sent Saudi Arabian Forces into a chaotic retreat, was followed just hours later by the seizure of a strategic island at the southern mouth of the Red Sea. (Perim Island) In less than 48 hours, Yemen’s Ansar Allah has reinforced its control of a vital shipping lane sending oil prices skyrocketing while opening a second front in the war against the United States and Israel. There’s no doubt that we have reached a tipping point in the seven-month long conflict that’s seen US military bases across the Gulf reduced to rubble while the Iranian military has asserted an iron grip on the Strait of Hormuz. The strategic pincer move by the Houthis increases the likelihood that the US will be driven from Middle East and that Iran will emerge as the guarantor of regional security. We are seeing changes to the geopolitical landscape that take place once in a century.
Perim Island sits at the heart of the Bab Al-Mandeb, the narrow straight at the southern entrance of the Red Sea. The location strengthens the Houthis control over the shipping lanes where 10 percent of global oil transits daily. In order to avoid the Strait of Hormuz which has been closed by Iranian Forces, the Saudis have sent the bulk of their oil through a 1,200 kilometer east-west pipeline to a port at Yanbu on the Red Sea. The pipeline –which moves 4 to 5 million barrels a day to market– is essential to Saudi Arabia’s flagging economy. On Thursday, the pipeline was attacked by Iraqi drones at nine different locations immediately stopping the flow of oil while triggering panic in Riyad and Washington. In short, “the oil map is getting squeezed from both ends; Hormuz in the east and Red Sea access in the west.”
On Friday, Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman made a desperate appeal to Donald Trump for military assistance that was promptly turned down. The refusal was widely reported in the media but does not accurately reflect the level of US cooperation. At present, the the US has “More than 100 US military advisers in Saudi Arabia assisting Riyadh with intelligence and targeting support for its renewed war in Yemen. (CNN) ….an unnamed US official, put the number of US troops assisting in the effort at 200 and said they were part of a new joint task force that was formed in recent weeks as the war in Yemen began to escalate.”
It’s worth pointing out, however, that “The war was reignited by July 13 Saudi airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport, an attack that was approved by President Trump, according to a report from Axios. The strikes were launched to prevent a plane from landing in Sanaa that took off from Iran, which was carrying a Yemeni delegation that attended the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei….
US intelligence and other supporters also supported the brutal Saudi-led war in Yemen from 2015 to 2022.” (which killed tens of thousands of civilians and left the country in a shambles. Antiwar.com
So, the US is largely responsible for the crisis today; that much is clear.
On Friday, September 11, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following statement:
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has asked the Saudis to hold off on a military response while he tries to find the people responsible. But while the issue remains unresolved, the underlying message is clear; Iran and its regional allies are now determined to stop the flow of oil from the Middle East in order to put pressure on the US to end the war. In short, they have the global economy by the windpipe and are gradually tightening their grip to force Trump to meet his obligations under the Memorandum of Understanding, the deal that is supposed to end the hostilities and restore the region to peace.
Events are moving so fast, we can’t be certain that Trump even understands what’s going on. The situation is no longer containable. The lights are blinking red. We are facing a different set of contingencies and a myriad of different scenarios. The only thing that is certain is that America has no future in the Middle East. When the dust finally settles, the bases will be boarded up, the fleet will be gone, and Old Glory will be tucked into a packing crate headed for the USA.
The Houthis now occupy the entire western coast of Yemen, and their forces serve as a vice-grip for Iran to maintain control over 30 percent of global oil. This is obviously a synchronized effort by highly-motivated, battle-hardened militants who are implementing a far-reaching strategy aimed at forcing an American retreat from the region followed by the imposition of a new multilateral security architecture. We do not think that Trump’s obsession with bombing random targets from the sky has any chance of succeeding. From the very onset, Trump has reflexively opted for destructive violence over any purposeful use of military power for a political endstate. His inability to think strategically is pushing the country towards its most humiliating military defeat followed by years of economic retrenchment. (Saudi Output Drops to Zero.)
President Trump may say over and over again that the high cost of gasoline is a “small price” to pay to keep Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon but the truth of the matter is that the high cost of gasoline and food right now are nothing when compared to the moral price that men who dare to defy Christ the King and the binding precepts of the Divine and Natural Laws that He has entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for their infallible explication must pay. Men who wage needless foreign wars, each of which brings unintended consequences (such as the closing of the Strait of Hormuz in the case of the current war), and, much more importantly, who enable mankind’s continued warfare against innocent preborn children by a refusal to enforce just laws prohibiting the distribution of abortifacient pills and devices become instruments in their own eternal damnation as well as social discord and decay within their own nations and even throughout the world.
Lost in all of these details, about which most people will forget over time, is the fact that, as tragic as all this is, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is using these epic, never-ending battles between the false opposites of the naturalist “left” and the naturalist “right” to chastise us and our nation for our sins:
[34] Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable. (Proverbs 14: 34.)
The public exaltation and celebration of sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance is indeed bringing down the wrath of God upon our heads as both the clueless naturalists within the administration of President Donald John Trump, some of whom are convinced of their own nonexistent infallibility and invincibility and are as ignorant about having to answer to Christ the King for the actions when they die as were their counterparts in the administration of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Kamala Harris Emhoff, and the anti-ICE “activists” and their pro-abort enablers in the “blue states” battle each both rhetorically and violently.
We must remember that the Roman Empire was overthrown by barbarians because it had first rotted from the inside out. The same kinds of hedonistic sins, the same kind of government excesses of taxation and bloated bureaucracies, the same kinds of needless foreign wars, and brutal actions against political dissenters that existed then obtain now as well. We have not only refused to learn from history but are actively repeating the errors of the past because our leaders (and most of the citizens, to be honest) are as hostile to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His true Church as were the caesars and their minions sixteen hundred sixteen years ago when Rome fell to Alaric (although the Western Roman Empire would continue under nominal emperors who were under the authority of the invaders until it fell in 476).
The United States of America is not immune to God’s chastisements as its people have long misused liberty as a cloak for malice, confounded liberty with license, and have made the ugliness of sin something apparently “beautiful” and even “necessary.”
As I will never tire reminding the readers of this website, mere human efforts to pursue “prosperity” in one’s own nation and “peace” with other nations are bound to fail when men at war with the Most Blessed Trinity by means of their unrepentant sins. Men must be at peace with Christ the King by cooperating with the sanctifying offices of His Holy Church to obtain and/or maintain a state of Sanctifying Grace in their immortal souls.
It is simply that simple.
Our Lady is the Queen of Peace, and it is through her Most Holy Rosary that we, sinners but repentant and desirous of making reparation for sins, can help to plant the seeds for the day when men and nations will be converted according to the following prayer of Pope Pius XII that I have quoted numerous times but is worth quoting once again now:
Queen of the most holy Rosary, help of Christians, refuge of the human race, victorious in all the battles of God, we prostrate ourselves in supplication before thy throne, in the sure hope of obtaining mercy and of receiving grace and timely aid in our present calamities, not through any merits of our own on which we do not rely, but only through the immense goodness of thy mother’s Heart. In Thee and in thy Immaculate Heart, at this grave hour of human history, do we put our trust; to thee we consecrate ourselves, not only with all of Holy Church, which is the mystical body of thy Son Jesus, and which is suffering in so many of her members, being persecuted, but also with the whole world, torn by discords, agitated with the hatred, the victim of its own iniquities. Be thou moved by the sight of such material and moral degradation, such sorrows, such anguish, so many tormented souls in danger of eternal loss! Do thou, O Mother of mercy, obtain for us from God a Christ-like reconciliation of the nations, as well as those graces which can convert the souls of men in an instant, those graces which prepare the way and make certain the long desired coming of peace on earth. O Queen of peace, pray for us, and grant unto the world in the truth, the justice, and the charity of Christ. Above all, give us peace in our hearts, so that the kingdom of God, may spread it the tranquility of order. Accord thy protection to unbelievers and to all those who lie in the shadow of death; cause the Sun of Truth to rise upon them; may they enabled to join with us in repeating before the Saviour of the world: “Glory to God in the highest, and peace to men of good will.” Give peace to the nations that are separated us from error or discord, and in a special manner to those peoples who profess a singular devotion toward thee; bring them back to Christ’s one fold, under the one true Shepherd. Obtain full freedom for the holy Church of God; defend her from her enemies; check the ever-increasing torrent of immorality; arouse in the faithful a practical love of purity, a practical Christian life, and an apostolic zeal, so that the number of those who serve God may increase in merit and in number. Finally, even as the Church and all mankind were once consecrated to the Heart of thy Son Jesus, because He was for all those who put their hope in Him an inexhaustible source of victory and salvation, so in like manner do we consecrate ourselves forever to thee also and to thy Immaculate Heart, Of Mother us and Queen of the world; may thy love and patronage hasten the day when the kingdom of God shall be victorious and all the nations, at peace with God and with one another, shall call thee blessed and intone with thee, from the rising of the sun to its going down, the everlasting “Magnificat” of glory, of love, of gratitude to the Heart of Jesus in which we alone can find truth, life, and peace. (Pope Pius XII, Rescript from the Secretariat of State, November 17, 1942, document exhibited, November 19, 1942, The Raccolta: A Manual of Indulgences, Prayers and Devotions Enriched with Indulgences, approved by Pope Pius XII, May 30, 1951, and published in English by Benziger Brothers, New York, 1957, pp. 345-347.)
There can be no true social order at home nor peace in the world unless all men exclaim as one:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dóminus, Deus Sábaoth. Pleni sunt cæli et terra glória tua. Hosánna in excélsis. Benedíctus, qui venit in nómine Dómini. Hosánna in excélsis.
