Zionism Collects Another Scalp: Thomas K. Massie

As I have noted so many times in the past, American electoral politics is the theater of the absurd as the farce as the competition between the false opposites of naturalism extends to not only between the two major organized crime families of naturalism but also within those families.

That is, the Communists-Socialists-Anarchists-Fascists-Nihilists-Pagans faction of the organized crime of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” who call themselves “Progressives” are attempting to purge every single so-called “moderate” leftists from their ranks as one set of leftists tries to “out left” and pro-abort those who are just as “left’ and just as “pro-abort” but are not Marxists-Leninists. This is the modern day equivalent of the battle between the Girondists and the Mensheviks during the French Revolution and the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution.

Then there is the  hapless bunch of those in the organized crime of family of the false opposite of the naturalist “right," which is divided between those who suffer from a different form of Trump Derangement Syndrome than those in the “leftist” camp, namely, those who believe everything that Donald John Trump says is true, that the man is incapable of being wrong, and that his multiple contradictions are narcissisms must be ignored and those who point out Trump’s mistakes and massive egoism. The latter group is accused by the former of being “unpatriotic” “RINOs" even though they simply believe that the provisions within the Constitution of the United States of America that limit the exercise of the powers of the Federal government and that provide for a genuine balance of powers between the three branches of government apply to all presidents, including Donald John Trump, who like Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., before him, believe that he is a law unto himself to whom unyielding loyalty and agreement must be rendered at all times.

There is actually a subset of division with the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “right” that is currently coming to the forefront because of the joint American and Israeli military action against the so-called Islamic Revolution of Iran, namely, the battle between the Zionist conservatives and the non-Zionist “conservatives” (with a few “libertarians” sprinkled in the mix as well), and this this division that is defining both the domestic and international policies of the administration of President Donald John Trump.

To wit, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is seeking to investigate anyone who criticizes the genocidal policies of the government of the Zionist State of Israel and Judaism in general as antisemitic haters:

Todd Blanche, the current acting US Attorney General, is Donald Trump’s former personal criminal defense lawyer.

Notice in the May 19 Department of Justice press release that Trump’s DOJ defines upholding civil rights as preventing criticism of Israel. In other words, suppressing or limiting the First Amendment is “upholding civil rights.” What the Trump DOJ is really doing is creating special privileges for Israel that no other country has and that overrides the US Constitution. Todd Blanche has cancelled Americans’ free speech when it comes to Israel. In effect, Trump’s DOJ has given Israel the civil right to protection from criticism by Americans.  Trump who was going to make America great again has finalized Americans’ subservience to Zionist Israel.   As Washington claims extra-territoriality for US law, Washington might sanction, or even invade, other countries that do not follow the DOJ ruling.

Was Bondi fired because she would not elevate Israel above the First Amendment?

Having given Israel and Jews in general protection from criticism by Americans, acting AG Blanche went on to give Donald Trump and his family protection from the US government if Jeffrey Toobin’s interpretation  is correct of the May 19 Settlement Agreement  of  Trump v. Internal Revenue Service ( Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS ) signed by the acting US Attorney General.

Mr. Toobin writes:

“The United States agrees that it is ‘FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED from prosecuting or pursuing’ President Trump, his eldest sons or any of their businesses. The agreement covers matters ‘whether presently known or unknown’ and cases that ‘have been or could have been asserted’ by the government.”

“But that’s just the beginning. The document places off limits the investigation of any tax disputes (or tax crimes) regarding returns that were filed before this week.

“If something comes to light in the future about misconduct or malfeasance relating to the Trump family’s tax filings, as long as it took place before the agreement [ settlement] took effect, it cannot be the basis for a prosecution. Reinforcing the same point, the agreement states that the government is barred from pursuing ‘any matters that were raised or could have been raised’ in the Trumps’ dispute with the I.R.S.

“There will be no cases against the Trumps before the I.R.S. ‘or other agencies or departments.’

Could Mr. Trump’s immunity extend beyond taxes? The Justice Department, which brings federal criminal cases, may, as I interpret it, also be barred from charging the Trumps with other crimes.

Toobin raises the question whether the settlement creates a precedent for future presidents to expect unique legal privileges denied to the general population. In previous articles I have suggested that the failure of democracy has caused power to accumulate in the executive branch, such as the executive’s appropriation of  the power the Constitution gives to Congress to declare war.  National security and executive orders are gradually taking the place of legislation, such as Trump’s tariffs.  In President Lincoln’s time, tariffs required an act of Congress.  Just as the failure of the Roman Senate gave rise to the caesars, the failure of American democracy is leading to the emergence of executive rule. (Acting Attorney General Conveys Privileges to Israel and Trump Family that Are Denied to Americans.)

Actually, former United States Attorney General Pamela Bondi, who was diagnosed and then treated for thyroid cancer after she was dismissed from her position by President Donald John Trump on Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026, was very much concerned about stopping alleged “anti-Semitic” “hate speech”:

Enter Pam Bondi.

Bondi is a rabid, pro-Zionist zealot. She is also a radical anti-Bill of Rights zealot—especially the First Amendment. Bondi (along with Department of Homeland Security nominee Kristi Noem) has every intention of stomping out the freedom of speech in the U.S.—especially that speech which denounces the ongoing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon and which supports Palestinian statehood.

In his interview with Max Blumenthal, Judge Nap and Max had this exchange regarding Bondi:

Napolitano: Aaron {Maté} and I have discussed at length the assaults on free speech by the Biden Administration, by members of Congress, like Elise Stefanic, as an example, who’s slated to become Trump’s Ambassador to the UN. I think you’ll agree with me that this is about to get worse.

Here is Pam Bondi, the designated to-be Attorney General of the United States, suggesting that demonstrators on college campuses should be deported at worst or interrogated by FBI agents at best.

Bondi video: Whether they’re here as Americans or if they’re here on student visas, and they’re out there saying, “I support Hamas,” you and I have seen that on all of these television shows. Frankly, they need to be taken out of our country, or the FBI needs to be interviewing them right away when they’re saying, “I support Hamas,” “I am Hamas.” That’s not saying, “I support all these poor Palestinians who are trapped in Gaza {Such cold condescension}.” That’s not what they’re saying. So, I think their student visas need to be revoked. I think we need to reinstate President Trump’s travel ban immediately. There’s a lot of things that can be done to stop this. The anti-Semitism that is rampant throughout this country now. And it’s truly, truly heartbreaking to see what’s happening to all of our Jewish friends in this country.

I would like to ask Ms. Bondi what exactly is “truly, truly heartbreaking what’s happening to all of our Jewish friends in this country”? Are Jews in America being starved to death with blockades that deny them food and medicine? Are Jewish hospitals, schools and synagogues in America being bombed to smithereens by the nation’s military? Are Jewish children in America being shot dead in the head by army snipers? Are Jewish homes in America being bulldozed to the ground? Are tens of thousands of innocent Jewish men, women, children and babies being slaughtered like animals because of their race?

Napolitano: So, this woman who’s about to become the head of the Justice Department, and indirectly the head of the FBI, believes that, the First Amendment notwithstanding, the government can evaluate the content of speech and decide which political speech is worthy of praise, which is worthy of interrogation, and which is worthy of kicking people out of the country. Worse than anything Joe Biden’s DOJ ever imagined.

Blumenthal: Well, the Biden DOJ has helped set the stage for this. But let’s look at how Pam Bondi came into the position as Trump’s Attorney General nominee.

It was the downfall of Matt Gaetz, one of the few members of Congress who has not taken Israel Lobby money, who actually voted against one of the major aid supplementals to Israel, along with other members of the Freedom Caucus, mainly because it also was linked to Ukraine aid. But he did it. Matt Gaetz went down mainly because of this bizarre background he has and this saga that involved apparently sexual blackmail.

And Pam Bondi comes in. She’s welcomed by CNN. It appears Senate Democrats will let her slide through. She’s been a longtime corporate lobbyist for GM, Amazon, Uber and even Gulf monarchies. She’s a corporate tool, and so that’s why she’ll sail through.

But also, in the last hours of Matt Gaetz as AG nominee, the American Jewish Committee and Anti-Defamation League condemned him as an antisemite. And Pam Bondi appears; someone with a very clear record working under Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who said he’ll be the most pro-Israel governor in America, of shilling for Israel and advancing Israel’s objectives politically and legally inside the United States on behalf of Tel Aviv, crushing the First Amendment and the rights of students and other Americans to organize against this genocide.

And what I think we’re going to see happen, and this is an agenda that’s been spelled out in the Heritage Foundation’s Project Esther, which was actually largely written by Christian Right activists, Christian Zionists, is to seek terrorism designations for groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine, the groups leading the demonstrations in the streets, and then to begin to actually prosecute them and de-bank their activists going to places like PayPal, Venmo and ordering them basically to block transactions of anyone who’s leading Palestine solidarity activity. I mean this is all spelled out. And Bondi seems to be the perfect person to advance this authoritarian, anti-freedom, unamerican agenda on behalf of Netanyahu and the Israeli apartheid regime.

You can mark it down that Trump’s Executive Order issued on his inauguration day protecting free speech will NOT apply to those who have the courage to tell the truth about Netanyahu and the Zionist State of Israel.

Napolitano: Is there anybody in Trump’s cabinet that’s not an ardent Zionist?

Blumenthal: I mean yeah; it’s MIGA; it’s make Israel great again. (New Congress’s First Order of Business: Protect Israel.)

Pursuant to President Trump’s Executive Order on Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism, the Justice Department announced today the formation of a multi-agency Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism. The Task Force’s first priority will be to root out anti-Semitic harassment in schools and on college campuses.

In addition to the Department of Justice, the Task Force will include representatives from the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and other agencies as it develops. The Task Force will be coordinated through the Department’s Civil Rights Division.

“Anti-Semitism in any environment is repugnant to this Nation’s ideals,” said Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Leo Terrell, who will be heading the Task Force. “The Department takes seriously our responsibility to eradicate this hatred wherever it is found. The Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism is the first step in giving life to President Trump’s renewed commitment to ending anti-Semitism in our schools.”

If you have been discriminated against, you can file a complaint with the Civil Rights Division, at Contact the Civil Rights Division | Department of Justice (https://civilrights.justice.gov). President Trump’s Executive Order can be found here: Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism – The White House. (Office of Public Affairs | Justice Department Announces Formation of Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism | United States Department of Justice.)

Thus, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is continuing the United States Department of Justice’s policies instituted by President Trump’s January 25, 2025, Executive Order, and taking it to the same levels that the authoritarian former Attorney General Merrick Garland used against then former President Trump and against pro-life Catholics such as Mark Houck, to say nothing about investigating parents in Virginia objecting to a school board’s policies and using the Federal Bureau of Investigation to target “radical traditional” Catholic groups or websites for being possible sources of “domestic terrorism. A certain Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey of www.ChristorChaos.com was, of course, made the “FBI hate group list,” which had been drawn lock, stock, and barrel from the website of the Southern Poverty Law Center (see Believing Catholics Pose No Threat to a Just Social Order).

Thus, the real thrust of Donald John Trump’s magisterial reign over the “Make America Great Again” movement is to eradicate from the Republican Party anyone, such as United States Representative Thomas K. Massie, who speaks out against Israeli policies and/or who opposes all foreign aid, including aid given to Israel, and who also believes that there is no justification in the text of the United States Constitution to support such monstrous spending boondoggles as the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” and that the Constitution alone has the power to declare war.

Disagreement with Donald John Trump, of course, means that one is a “loser,” a “low-life” who has “low I.Q.” and is also “disloyal” and “unpatriotic,” which is why he recruited a complete unknown, Edward Gallrein, to oppose Massie in the primary election held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Second Congressional District of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Gallrein won decisively even though he participated in no debates or candidate forums and refused to fill out questionnaires submitted to him by nonpartisan organizations about where he stood on various issues, including the surgical slaughter of the innocent preborn, and it was to use Gallrein as the means to defeat Massie that the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee came to rescue:

US Representative Thomas Massie lost his Republican primary on Tuesday after one of the most expensive and politically charged congressional campaigns in modern United States history. For the Israel lobby and its allies, the result marked a decisive victory. US President Donald Trump deployed his political weight against Massie, endorsing his chosen challenger, Ed Gallrein, and turning a local race into a national confrontation. At the same time, pro-Israel organisations and billionaire donors, including Miriam Adelson, poured extraordinary sums into Kentucky to defeat a congressman whose offence was questioning military aid to Israel and challenging the expanding influence of pro-Israel lobbying power in Washington.

Yet beneath the celebration lies a deeper and more troubling reality. The Kentucky race exposed a widening backlash among Americans increasingly uneasy with the scale of political influence exercised by organisations and donors aligned with a foreign state. What unfolded no longer resembled a conventional congressional primary. To many voters, the contest appeared less about Kentucky, less about conservative priorities, and less even about US national interests than about enforcing ideological conformity to Israel’s political preferences and punishing dissent within the Republican Party.

That perception may ultimately matter more than the result itself.

For decades, support for Israel functioned in Washington as an almost untouchable consensus. Republicans and Democrats competed to demonstrate loyalty to the Israeli state while organisations such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) built a vast influence apparatus through campaign finance, donor networks, think tanks, media access and coordinated pressure. Criticism of Israeli policy risked donor retaliation, media isolation and accusations of anti-Semitism. Fear, more than persuasion, maintained discipline.

Massie became politically dangerous precisely because he reflected that convergence. He is not a progressive anti-Zionist but a libertarian conservative who opposes foreign intervention broadly and rejects foreign aid in principle, including aid to Israel. Even this limited dissent proved intolerable to powerful pro-Israel interests.

The response was overwhelming.

Tens of millions of dollars poured into Kentucky in a campaign designed not only to defeat Massie but to make an example of him. Outside groups saturated the district with advertising portraying him as disloyal and extreme. Trump’s intervention intensified the race, with the full machinery of the White House aligned behind Massie’s opponent. In an extraordinary breach of norms, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth travelled to Kentucky the day before the vote to campaign personally for Gallrein, an unusual move for a sitting cabinet officer, and one taken against the backdrop of the ongoing US military operation in Iran.

But Trump’s hostility towards Massie extended beyond Israel. The congressman had become one of the most persistent Republican voices demanding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, pressing federal agencies and the administration for disclosure of records tied to the case. His insistence on transparency reportedly irritated Trump and parts of the Republican establishment, particularly as public suspicion surrounding elite protection networks continued to grow. The primary, therefore, became more than an electoral contest; it became a warning that dissent, whether on Israel, foreign aid, or politically sensitive domestic scandals, would carry consequences.

While Massie ultimately lost by roughly nine percentage points, pre-election polling pointed to a sharp generational split, with surveys showing him drawing the bulk of his support from Republican voters under 40 and trailing badly among those over 60. The pattern underscores a generational divide reshaping conservative attitudes towards Israel, foreign policy and lobbying influence in US politics.

Yet the intensity of the campaign produced unintended effects.

Many voters began asking why such extraordinary sums linked to Israeli interests were dominating a local US election. Across conservative media, podcasts and online forums, frustration deepened over what appeared to be disproportionate foreign-aligned influence inside domestic politics.

The debate expanded beyond Massie to the broader role of AIPAC and affiliated networks in the US political system. Calls intensified for AIPAC to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA. Critics argued that organisations closely aligned with a foreign government’s strategic interests should face transparency requirements applied to other foreign influence actors. Whether or not such arguments prevail legally, their entry into mainstream conservative discourse reflects a significant political shift.

Only a few years ago, such claims remained marginal. Today, they are increasingly part of the political mainstream.

That normalisation represents a far greater concern for Israel’s defenders than any single electoral victory.

The danger for the lobby was never Massie alone. It was the possibility that other Republicans might observe his challenge and conclude that dissent on Israel was politically survivable. Even in defeat, Massie demonstrated that significant portions of the Republican electorate are increasingly willing to question unconditional support for Israel and the scale of US foreign aid commitments.

The Kentucky race also revealed contradictions within Trump’s “America First” coalition. Many nationalist conservatives now openly question why the defence of Israeli interests continues to enjoy near-sacrosanct status while domestic economic pressures intensify. Increasingly, populist voices frame large aid packages to Israel as inconsistent with US sovereignty and national renewal.

This does not reflect hostility towards Jewish Americans. Rather, it reflects fatigue with foreign entanglements, donor-driven politics, and the perception that criticism of Israeli policy is uniquely constrained in US public life.

For now, the Israel lobby retains enormous institutional power. Tuesday’s result confirmed that clearly. But political systems often become most aggressive precisely when they sense underlying instability.

Massie lost his seat. Trump and pro-Israel organisations secured a major victory. Yet the race left behind a more difficult legacy: growing public resentment among Americans who believe elections are shaped by billionaire donors and ideological pressures linked to a foreign state.

That sentiment will not dissipate with the campaign’s end.

Once voters begin questioning who shapes US politics, the longstanding insulation enjoyed by Israel’s defenders may erode faster than Washington expects. (Massie defeated: The Israel lobby’s pyrrhic victory in Kentucky.)

Mind you, Representative Massie, as a libertarian, is no friend of the Social Reign of Christ the King and is thus wrong in his support of the legalization of marijuana, which is a hallucinogenic substance that lessen and dulls the human mind’s reasoning powers (see Marijuana Is Harmful to Bodies and Souls. Period.) and, though opposed to the surgical slaughter of the innocent preborn in most cases, he does make the immoral “life of the mother” exception, an old canard that has been handled on this site in scores upon scores of commentaries on this website (see, for example, Memorandum to Donald John Trump: There is Nothing “In Between” About Protecting All Innocent Human Life Without Exception).

Additionally, some secular commentators have criticized Mr. Massie for not being present enough in his district and had only latched onto the sordid Jeffrey Epstein business in the past few years.

As to the first criticism, I am no judge as I do not live in the district. However, I know a few people who have lived there or who live there presently. Admittedly a very small sampling size, none of the people I know complained about Representative Massie's inaccessibility to his constituents. One of the three most important unwritten rules of an elected legislator to attend to constituent business, including correspondence, assist constituents having difficulties cutting through the red tape of the Federal bureaucracy, and to hold regular meetings with constituents in his district.

As to the second criticism, I will simply note that Jeffrey Epstein had collected some of the world's most powerful and wealthy men into his orbit while engaging in a monstrous scheme of human trafficking, a diabolical phenomeon that is itself, indepedently of the now defunct Epstein network, is responsible for the worldwide epidemic of missing children.

To be concerned about the Federal government's efforts to coverup the name of the perpetrators is not an exercise in grandstanding but of a civic duty to inform the public of the rot that is within the symbiotic relationship between officials within the government and major figures in commerce, technology, finance, education, the media, and "entertainment" to abuse children for their own perverse delight. Epstein was a sociopath, and so were those associated with him, and is only within the past few years that the extent of this wretched enterprise and the way it has been been protected has come to light. R

epresentative Massis was thus very courgeous to do his part to hold former Attorney General Pamela Bondi to account for not keeping her promise of being transparent with Congress by releasing the names within the "Epstein Files."

Thomas K. Massive was defeated by “Christian Zionists” and the power and money of the Zionist Lobby, something to which Massie noted very pointedly in his concession speech eight days ago:

He also mocked Gallrein, saying: “I would have come out sooner, but I had to call my opponent and concede, and it took a while to find Ed Gallrein in Tel Aviv.” (US Rep. Thomas Massie loses Kentucky GOP primary to Ed Gallrein in another victory for Trump.)

What Thomas Massie, who is correct on many issues and understands the text of the American Constitution better than most devotees of the president’s, does not understand, however, is that the lawlessness that characterizes most of public and social life of the entire world, including the United States of America, is the consequence the Protestant Revolution’s overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King five centuries that made possible the subsequent rise and triumph, albeit until the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, of Judeo-Masonic naturalism as the foundation of public life and social discourse.

Representative Massie, who is not a Catholic, would do well to consider that men and their nations must submit themselves to the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King and to the magisterial teaching and sanctifying offices of His true Church from which He is inseparable:

For you well know, venerable brethren, that at this time men are found not a few who, applying to civil society the impious and absurd principle of "naturalism," as they call it, dare to teach that "the best constitution of public society and (also) civil progress altogether require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion any more than if it did not exist; or, at least, without any distinction being made between the true religion and false ones." And, against the doctrine of Scripture, of the Church, and of the Holy Fathers, they do not hesitate to assert that "that is the best condition of civil society, in which no duty is recognized, as attached to the civil power, of restraining by enacted penalties, offenders against the Catholic religion, except so far as public peace may require." From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, an "insanity," viz., that "liberty of conscience and worship is each man's personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, whereby they may be able openly and publicly to manifest and declare any of their ideas whatever, either by word of mouth, by the press, or in any other way." But, while they rashly affirm this, they do not think and consider that they are preaching "liberty of perdition;" and that "if human arguments are always allowed free room for discussion, there will never be wanting men who will dare to resist truth, and to trust in the flowing speech of human wisdom; whereas we know, from the very teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, how carefully Christian faith and wisdom should avoid this most injurious babbling. (Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864.)

Pope Leo XIII noted in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885, that atheism becomes the lowest common cultural denominator when the civil state refuses to recognize the true religion and to pursue the common temporal good in light of man's Last End, the possession of the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity:

Now, natural reason  itself proves convincingly that such concepts of the government of a State are wholly at variance with the truth. Nature itself bears witness that all power, of every kind, has its origin from God, who is its chief and most august source.

The sovereignty of the people, however, and this without any reference to God, is held to reside in the multitude; which is doubtless a doctrine exceedingly well calculated to flatter and to inflame many passions, but which lacks all reasonable proof, and all power of insuring public safety and preserving order. Indeed, from the prevalence of this teaching, things have come to such a pass that may hold as an axiom of civil jurisprudence that seditions may be rightfully fostered. For the opinion prevails that princes are nothing more than delegates chosen to carry out the will of the people; whence it necessarily follows that all things are as changeable as the will of the people, so that risk of public disturbance is ever hanging over our heads.

To hold, therefore, that there is no difference in matters of religion between forms that are unlike each other, and even contrary to each other, most clearly leads in the end to the rejection of all religion in both theory and practice. And this is the same thing as atheism, however it may differ from it in name. Men who really believe in the existence of God must, in order to be consistent with themselves and to avoid absurd conclusions, understand that differing modes of divine worship involving dissimilarity and conflict even on most important points cannot all be equally probable, equally good, and equally acceptable to God.

So, too, the liberty of thinking, and of publishing, whatsoever each one likes, without any hindrance, is not in itself an advantage over which society can wisely rejoice. On the contrary, it is the fountain-head and origin of many evils. Liberty is a power perfecting man, and hence should have truth and goodness for its object. But the character of goodness and truth cannot be changed at option. These remain ever one and the same, and are no less unchangeable than nature itself. If the mind assents to false opinions, and the will chooses and follows after what is wrong, neither can attain its native fullness, but both must fall from their native dignity into an abyss of corruption. Whatever, therefore, is opposed to virtue and truth may not rightly be brought temptingly before the eye of man, much less sanctioned by the favor and protection of the law. A well-spent life is the only passport to heaven, whither all are bound, and on this account the State is acting against the laws and dictates of nature whenever it permits the license of opinion and of action to lead minds astray from truth and souls away from the practice of virtue. To exclude the Church, founded by God Himself, from the business of life, from the making of laws, from the education of youth, from domestic society is a grave and fatal error. A State from which religion is banished can never be well regulated; and already perhaps more than is desirable is known of the nature and tendency of the so-called civil philosophy of life and morals. The Church of Christ is the true and sole teacher of virtue and guardian of morals. She it is who preserves in their purity the principles from which duties flow, and, by setting forth most urgent reasons for virtuous life, bids us not only to turn away from wicked deeds, but even to curb all movements of the mind that are opposed to reason, even though they be not carried out in action. (Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885.)

This generative and conservative power of the virtues that make for salvation is therefore lost, whenever morality is dissociated from divine faith. A system of morality based exclusively on human reason robs man of his highest dignity and lowers him from the supernatural to the merely natural life. Not but that man is able by the right use of reason to know and to obey certain principles of the natural law. But though he should know them all and keep them inviolate through life-and even this is impossible without the aid of the grace of our Redeemer-still it is vain for anyone without faith to promise himself eternal salvation. "If anyone abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire, and he burneth" john xv., 6). "He that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark xvi., 16). We have but too much evidence of the value and result of a morality divorced from divine faith. How is it that, in spite of all the zeal for the welfare of the masses, nations are in such straits and even distress, and that the evil is daily on the increase? We are told that society is quite able to help itself; that it can flourish without the assistance of Christianity, and attain its end by its own unaided efforts. Public administrators prefer a purely secular system of government. All traces of the religion of our forefathers are daily disappearing from political life and administration. What blindness! Once the idea of the authority of God as the Judge of right and wrong is forgotten, law must necessarily lose its primary authority and justice must perish: and these are the two most powerful and most necessary bonds of society. Similarly, once the hope and expectation of eternal happiness is taken away, temporal goods will be greedily sought after. Every man will strive to secure the largest share for himself. Hence arise envy, jealousy, hatred. The consequences are conspiracy, anarchy, nihilism. There is neither peace abroad nor security at home. Public life is stained with crime. (Pope Leo XIII, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900.)

Contemporary manifestations of actual economic and social injustices have their remote proximate origins in the overthrow of the Social Reign of the Protestant Revolution and the subsequent rise and triumph, albeit temporary, of Judeo-Masonic ideologies, whether of the false opposites of the naturalist “left” or “right, that are anthropocentric and thus reject the necessity of a firm belief in the Catholic Faith and of the pursuit holiness as the foundation of as a truly just social order as can be realized here below in this passing, mortal vale of tears.

Writing in Mit Brennender Sorge, March 17, 1937, Pope Pius XI explained that personal sanctity is the only basis of a genuinely just social reform:

And today we again repeat with all the insistency We can command: it is not enough to be a member of the Church of Christ, one needs to be a living member, in spirit and in truth, i.e., living in the state of grace and in the presence of God, either in innocence or in sincere repentance. If the Apostle of the nations, the vase of election, chastised his body and brought it into subjection: lest perhaps, when he had preached to others, he himself should become a castaway (1 Cor. ix. 27), could anybody responsible for the extension of the Kingdom of God claim any other method but personal sanctification? Only thus can we show to the present generation, and to the critics of the Church that "the salt of the earth," the leaven of Christianity has not decayed, but is ready to give the men of today -- prisoners of doubt and error, victims of indifference, tired of their Faith and straying from God -- the spiritual renewal they so much need. A Christianity which keeps a grip on itself, refuses every compromise with the world, takes the commands of God and the Church seriously, preserves its love of God and of men in all its freshness, such a Christianity can be, and will be, a model and a guide to a world which is sick to death and clamors for directions, unless it be condemned to a catastrophe that would baffle the imagination.

20. Every true and lasting reform has ultimately sprung from the sanctity of men who were driven by the love of God and of men. Generous, ready to stand to attention to any call from God, yet confident in themselves because confident in their vocation, they grew to the size of beacons and reformers. On the other hand, any reformatory zeal, which instead of springing from personal purity, flashes out of passion, has produced unrest instead of light, destruction instead of construction, and more than once set up evils worse than those it was out to remedy. No doubt "the Spirit breatheth where he will" (John iii. 8): "of stones He is able to raise men to prepare the way to his designs" (Matt. iii. 9). He chooses the instruments of His will according to His own plans, not those of men. But the Founder of the Church, who breathed her into existence at Pentecost, cannot disown the foundations as He laid them. Whoever is moved by the spirit of God, spontaneously adopts both outwardly and inwardly, the true attitude toward the Church, this sacred fruit from the tree of the cross, this gift from the Spirit of God, bestowed on Pentecost day to an erratic world.  (Pope Pius XI, Mit Brennender Sorge, March 17, 1937.)

In other words, order in the world is premised upon order in the souls of men, who need Sanctifying Grace to overcome their sins and to make reparation for them while seeking to pursue the heights of personal sanctification. Catholic sanctity built and maintained Western civilization for nearly a thousand years, not the pursuit of “dreams” and “destinies” according to the dictates of Judeo-Masonic religious indifferentism and/or of outright Marxism.

As the late William C. Koneazny (see A True Catholic Rendezvous, published originally in 2004 and then revised slightly in 2009) said to me after I had given a talk at the Catholic Youth Rendezvous in July of 1986, “Politics is a side show.”

Indeed, it is, and no matter which public official may speak to the truth on some matters rather than march in lockstep with a narcissist who is sure making a lot of money on stocks and bonds during his second administration (see Trump invested in Eli Lilly. On the Commemorated Feast of Saint Bede the Venerable

Ah, but those us who are noble monolinguists (that is, we speak only English, and some of us do that very barely) not only have the holy example of Saint Augustine of Canterbury to remain steadfast in the Holy Faith, we have the example as well as Saint Bede the Venerable, a Doctor of Holy Mother Church, whose defense of the Faith against heresy and all corruption was described the great defender of the integrity of the Faith, Dom Prosper Gueranger:

The blessing given by Our Lord as he ascended not heaven has revealed its power in the most distant pagan lands, and during these days in the liturgical cycle bears witness to a concentration of graces upon the west of Europe.

The band of missionaries begged of Pope Eleutherius by the British king Lucius has been followed by the apostolate of Augustine, the envoy of Gregory the Great, and to-day, as though impatient to justify the lavish generosity of heaven, England brings forward her illustrious son, the Venerable Bede. This humble monk, whose life was spent in the praise of God, sought his divine Master in nature and in history, but above all in holy Scripture, which he studied with a loving attention and fidelity to tradition. He who was ever a disciple of the ancients, takes his place to-day among his masters as a Father and Doctor of the Church.

He thus sums up his own life: ‘I am priest of the monastery of the Apostles Peter and Paul. I was born on their land, and ever since my seventh year I have always lived in the house, observing the Rule, singing day by day in their church, and making it my delight to learn to teach or to write. Since I was made a priest, I have written commentaries on the holy Scripture for myself and my brethren, using the words of our venerated Fathers and following their method of interpretation. And, now, good Jesus, I beseech thee, thou who has given me in thy mercy to drink of the sweetness of thy word, grant me now to attain to the source, the fount of wisdom, and to gaze upon thee for ever and ever.’

The holy death of the servant of God was one of the most precious lessons he ever left to his disciples. His last sickness lasted fifty days, and he spent them, like the rest of his life, in singing the psalms and in teaching. As the Feast of the Ascension drew near, he repeated over and over again with tears of joy the Antiphon: ‘O king of glory, who has ascended triumphantly above the heavens, leave us not orphans, but send us the promise of the Father, the Spirit of truth.’ He said to his disciples in the words of St. Ambrose: ‘I have not lived in such a sort a to be ashamed to live with you, but I am not afraid to die, for we have a good Master.’ Then, returning to his translation of the Gospel of St. John and a work, which he had begun, on St. Isidore, he would say: ‘I do not wish my disciples to be hindered after my death by error nor to lose the fruit of their studies.’

On Tuesday before the Ascension he grew worse, and it was evident that the end was near. He was full of joy and spent the day in dictating and the night in prayers of thanksgiving. The dawn of Wednesday morning found him urging his disciples to hurry on their work. At the hour of Terce they left him to take part in the procession made on that day with the relics of the saints. One of them, a child, who stayed with him, said: ‘Dear master, there is but one chapter left; hast thou strength for it?’ ‘It is easy,’ he answered with a smile: ‘take thy pen, cut it and write—but make haste.’ At the hour of None, he sent for the priests of the monastery and gave them little presents, begging them to remember him at the altar. All wept. But he was full of joy, saying: ‘It is time for me, if it so please my Creator, to return to him who made me out of nothing, when as yet I was not. My sweet Judge has well ordered my life, and now the time of dissolution is at hand. I desire to be dissolved and to be with Christ. Yea, my soul longs to see Christ my king in his beauty.’

So did he pass this last day. Then came the touching dialogue with Wilbert, the child mentioned above: ‘Dear master, there is yet one sentence more.’ ‘Write quickly.’ After a moment: ‘It is finished,’ said the child. ‘Thou sayest well,’ replied the blessed man. ‘It is finished. Take my head in thy hands and support me over against the Oratory, for it is a great joy to me to see myself against that holy place where I have so often prayed.’ They had laid him on the floor his cell. He said: ‘Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,’ and when he had named the Holy Ghost, he yielded up his soul.

The following account of this holy monk is given in the Breviary. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year: Volume 8—Paschal Time, Book II, pp. 613-615.)

Bede, a priest, was born at Jarrow, on the borders of England and Scotland. At the age of seven years he was placed under the care of holy Benedict Biscop, Abbot of Wearmouth, to be educated. Thereafter he became a monk, and so ordered his life that, whilst he should devote himself wholly to the study of the sciences and of doctrine, he might in nothing relax the discipline of his Order. There was no branch of learning in which he was not most thoroughly versed, but his chief care was the study of Holy Scriptures; and that he might the better understand them he acquired a knowledge of the Greek and Hebrew tongues. When he was thirty years of age he was ordained priest at the command of his Abbot, and immediately, on the advice of Acca, Bishop of Hexham, undertook the work of expounding the Sacred Books. In his interpretations he so strictly adhered to the teaching of the holy Fathers that he would advance nothing which was not approved by their judgment, nay, had the warrant of their very words. He ever hated sloth, and by habitually passing from reading to prayer, and in turn from prayer to reading, he so inflamed his soul that often amid his reading and teaching he was bathed in tears. Lest also his mind should be distracted by the cares of transitory things, he never would take the office of Abbot when it was offered to him.

The name of Bede soon became so famous for learning and piety that St. Sergius the Pope thought of calling him to Rome, where, certainly, he might have helped to solve the very difficult questions which had then arisen concerning sacred things. He wrote many books for the bettering of the lives of the faithful, and defending and extending of the faith. By those he gained everywhere such a reputation that the holy martyr Bishop Boniface styled him a Light of the Church; Lanfranc called him The Teacher of the English, and the Council of Aix-la-Chapelle The Admirable Doctor. But as his writings were publicly read in the churches during his life, and as it was not allowable to call him already a saint, they named him The Venerable, a title which in all times after has remained peculiarly his. The power of his teaching was the greater also, in that it was attested by a holy life and the graces of religious observance. In this way, by his earnestness and example, his disciples, who were many and distinguished, were made eminent, not only in letters and the sciences, but in personal holiness.

Broken at length by age and labour, he was seized by a grievous illness. Though he suffered under it for more than seven weeks, he ceased not from his prayers and his interpreting of the Scriptures; for at that time he was turning the Gospel of John into English for the use of his people. But when, on the Eve of the Ascension, he perceived that death was coming upon him, he desired to be fortified with the last sacraments of the Church: then, after he had embraced his companions, and was laid on a piece of sackcloth on the ground, he repeated the words, Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, and fell asleep in the Lord. His body, very sweet, as it is related, breathing sweet odour, was buried in the monastery of Jarrow, and afterwards was translated to Durham with the relics of St. Cuthbert. Bede, who was already a Doctor among the Benedictines, and in other religious Orders, and venerated in certain dioceses, was declared by Pope Leo XIII., after consulting with the Congregation of Sacred Rites, to be a Doctor of the universal Church; and the Mass and Office for Doctors was ordered to be recited by all on his feast-day. (Matins, Divine Office, Feast of Saint Bede the Venerable.)

Once again, Dom Prosper Gueranger, mindful of the forces at work in the world in the middle of the Nineteenth Century, took pen to paper to connect the life of Saint Bede the Venerable to the events of his own day that are even more pronounced in our own:

‘Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost’ is the hymn of eternity. Before the creation of angels and of man, God, in the concert of the three divine Persons, sufficed for his own praise, and of this praise was adequate, infinite and perfect, like the divinity. This was only praise worthy of God. However magnificently the world may hymn its Creator n the thousand voices of nature, its praise is always below the divine Object. But, in the designs of God, creation was on day to send up to heaven an echo of that melody which is threefold and yet one, for the Word was to take flesh, through the operation of the Holy Ghost, in the womb of Mary, and was to be Son of creation fully and perfectly re-echoed the adorable harmonies once known only to the blessed Trinity. Since that day a man who has understanding finds his perfection in such conformity to the Son of Mary, that he may be one with the Son of God in the divine concert wherein God is glorified.

This, O Bede, was thy life, for understanding was given thee. It was fitting that thy last breath should be spent in that song of long which had filled thy mortal life, and that thus thou shouldst be spent in that song of love which had filled thy mortal life, and that thus shouldst enter at once into a glorious and blessed eternity. May we profit by that supreme lesson, which thus sums up all the teaching of thy grand and simple life!

Glory be to the almighty and merciful Trinity! These words form the close of the cycle of the mysteries which terminate at this time in the glorification of the Father, our sovereign Lord, by the triumph of the Son our Redeemer, and the inauguration of the reign of the Holy Ghost, our sanctifier. How splendid were the triumph of the Son and the reign of the Holy Ghost in the Isle of Saints in the days when Albion, twice given by Rome to Christ, shone like a priceless jewel in the diadem of the Spouse! O thou were wast the teacher of the English in the days of their fidelity, do not disappoint the hopes of the Supreme Pontiff, who has in our days extended thy cult to the Universal Church; but rekindle in the hearts of thy countrymen their former love for the Mother of all mankind. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year: Volume 8—Paschal Time, Book II, pp. 617-618.)

We could spend a lifetime reading and meditating upon the works of Saint Bede the Venerable, but of particular note to us should be his devotion to Our Lady and his defense of the dating of Easter that Robert Francis Prevost believes can be “fixed,” placing the latter in full league with the heretics Saint Bede himself combatted as described by Saint Cuthbert:

“With those who have wandered form the unity of the Catholic faith, either through not celebrating Easter at the proper time or through evil living, you are to have no dealings. Never forget that if you should ever be forced to make the choice of two evils I would prefer that you left the island, taking my bones with you, than you should be a party to wickedness on any pretext whatsoever, bending your necks to the yoke of schism. Strive most diligently to learn the catholic statutes of the fathers and put them into practice. Make it your special care to carry out those rules of the monastic life which God in His divine mercy has seen fit to give you through my ministry. I know that, though some may see that my teachings are not to be easily dismissed.” (Saint Cuthbert, as quoted by The Venerable Bede, The Life of Cuthbert. The Age of Bede, translated by J. F. Webb and edited with an introduction by D. H. Farmer, Penguin Books, published in 1965 and reprinted with revisions in 1988 and 1998, p. 95.)

On the Commemoration of Pope Saint John I

Saint Bede the Venerable shares his feast day with a pope, Saint John I, who was the victim of a pagan emperor who seethed with as much hatred for the true Faith as the Arian heretics that he, Pope Saint John I, fought against as he demonstrated his own steadfastness in the midst of persecution:

The palm of martyrdom was won by this holy Pope, not in a victory over a pagan persecutor, but in king. But this king was a heretic, and therefore an enemy of Pontiff that was zealous for the triumph of the true faith. The state of Christ’s Vicar here on earth is a state of combat; and it frequently happens that a Pope is veritably a martyr, without having shed his blood. St. John I, whom we honour to-day, was not slain by the sword; a loathsome dungeon was the instrument of his martyrdom; but there are many Popes who are now in heaven with him, martyrs like himself, who never passed a day in prison or in chains: the Vatican was their Calvary. They conquered, yet fell in the struggle with so little appearance of victory, that heaven had to take up the defence of their reputation, as was the case with the angelic Pontiff of the eighteenth century, Clement XIII.

The Saint of to-day teaches us, by his conduct, what should be the sentiment of every worthy member of the Church. He teaches us that we should never make a compromise with heresy, nor approve the measures taken by worldly policy for securing what it calls the rights of heresy. If the past ages aided by the religious indifference of Governments, have introduced the toleration of all religions, or even the principle that ‘all religions are to be treated alike by the state,’ let us, if we will, put up with this latitudinarianism, and be glad to see that the Church, in virtue of it, is guaranteed from legal persecution; but as Catholics, we can never look upon it as an absolute good. Whatever may be the circumstances in which Providence has placed us, we are bound to conform our views to the principles of our holy faith, and to the infallible teaching and practice of the Church—out of which, there is but contradiction, danger and infidelity. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year: Volume 8—Paschal Time, Book II,pp. 619-620.)

This has a practical application in our own day as it reminds of the fact that the conciliar revolutionaries have made every compromise imaginable with heresy and have defended its “rights” in civil society under the banner now of “diversity” and “respect” for all falsehoods, including those that deny the Sacred Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and that mock Him, His Blessed Mother, His Holy Catholic Church and the true liturgical rites He authorized her to institute in order to effect our sanctification and salvation.

Moreover, Dom Prosper Gueranger’s careful distinction between realizing the limitations imposed by the civil state’s imposition of “religious liberty” without ever once looking upon modern conditions as “an absolute good” as we must “conform our views to the principles of our holy faith, and to the infallible practice of the Church—out of which, there is but contradiction, danger and infidelity.”

It is not the English Way or the American Way or the “Conservative Cause” or anything else.

It is Catholicism.

Nothing else.

And the conciliar revolutionaries themselves are the very embodiments of contradiction, danger and infidelity” as they embrace as an “absolute good” the very heresy of religious liberty that treats the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the power of the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, as a matter of complete indifference, if not a contempt that results in overt castigation and persecution of those who refuse to be silent about Christ the King and His true Catholic Church.

Here is the liturgical account of the life of Pope Saint John I:

John, by birth a Tuscan, governed the Church during the reign of Emperor Justin the Elder. He undertook a journey to Constantinople, in order to solicit the Emperor’s protection against the heretical king Theodoric, who was persecuting the faithful of Italy. God honoured the Pontiff, during this journey by several miracles. When about to visit Corinth, a certain nobleman lent him a horse, which he kept for his wife’s use, on account of its being so gentle. When the Pontiff afterwards returned, and gave the horse back to the nobleman, it was no longer a tame creature as before; but, as often as its mistress attempted to ride it, would snort and prance, and throw her from its back, as though it scorned to bear a woman’s weight, after it had carried the Vicar of Christ. The therefore gave the horse to the Pontiff. But a greater miracle was that which happened at Constantinople. Near the Golden Gate, and in the presence of an immense concourse of people, who had assembled there together with the Emperor to show honour to the Pontiff, he restored sight to a blind man. The Emperor also prostrated himself before him, out of a sentiment of veneration. Having arranged matters with the Emperor, he returned to Italy, and immediately addressed a letter to all its bishops, commanding them to consecrate the churches of the Arians, that they might be used for Catholic services. He added these words: ‘For, when at Constantinople, for the interests of the Catholic religion and on account of king Theodoric, we consecrated all the Arian churches we could find in that country, and made them Catholic.’ The body of St. John was taken from Ravenna to Rome, and buried in the Basilica of Saint Peter. (Matins, Hagiography of Pope Saint John I, Divine Office, May 27.)

The following prayer, composed, obviously by Dom Prosper Gueranger, teaches two important lessons: 1) that we must not view the world through as naturalists and thus be agitated by the twists and turns of the latest sideshows devised by the forces of hell to keep us away from prayer and spiritual reading; and 2) that we must “realize what divine truth is, and how error can never create prescription against her rights”:

Thy fair palm, O holy Pontiff, was the reward of proclaiming the spotless holiness of the Church of Christ. She is the glorious Church, as St. Paul calls her, having neither spot nor wrinkle; and, for that very reason she can never consent to yield heresy any given her by her divine Lord. Nowadays, men form their calculations on the interests of this passing world and are resolved to regulate society independently of all social order, as well as all truth. They have deprived the Church of her external constitution and influence; and at the same time, they give encouragement to the sect that have rebelled against her. O holy Pontiff, teach us to realize what divine truth is, and how error can never create prescription against her rights. Then shall we submit to the unhappy necessities handed down to us by the fatal triumph of heresy, without accepting, as a sign of progress, the principle and law that ‘all religions are on an equality.’ In thy prison, brave martyr, thou didist proclaim the rights of the one only Church; preserve us who are living during that revolt which was foretold by the Apostle, from those cowardly compromises, dangerous prejudices, and culpable want of solid instruction, which are the ruin of so many souls; and may our last words, on leaving this world, be those that were taught us by our Jesus himself: Heavenly Father! Hallowed be thy Name! May thy Kingdom come! (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year: Volume 8—Paschal Time, Book II, pp. 619-620.)

Conclusion

As May Nears An End, We Continue to Rely Upon Our Lady and Her Fatima Message

Although the end of the month of May is but three days away, this is still the month of Our Lady, who appeared to Jacinta and Francisco Marto and Lucia dos Santos in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal, for the first time on May 13, 1917. Our trust in Our Lady must be one of childlike simplicity, and our cooperation with the graces won for us by her Divine Son by the shedding of every single drop of His Most Precious Blood during His Passion and Death on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow through her own most loving hands as the Mediatrix of All Graces must be persevering.

We have nothing to fear from the circumstances of the world nor from the double-mindedness of the likes of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Our sins, of course, deserve no better, which is why we must, as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, pray as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits, seeking to live more penitentially so that we do indeed strive for the ideal of Catholic moral life, relying upon the graces Our Lady sends us to avoid the stultifying legalistic minimalism that helped to produce the current ecclesiastical crisis.

We must plant the seeds for true change, the restoration of the Church Militant on earth and thus of the Social Reign of Christ the King, by doing what we can in our own lives to fulfill Our Lady's Fatima Message as we seek all contact with the revolutionaries who have devastated the Faith.

We can plant the change for true change, that is, of a conversion of all men and their nations to the Catholic Faith, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order, by relying upon Our Lady just as Saint Peter did.

What are we waiting for?

Our Lady is waiting to help us.

Why do we tarry to trust in her loving care?

Why do refuse to believe that the path out of this mess runs through her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart?
