Trying to Hold Back the Gates of Hell By Natural Means Never Succeeds
There are great advantages to being away from the computer for a length of time, not the least of which is the sense of peace that comes from stepping away from all of the agitations of the moment.
As should be clear by now, a number of unforeseen circumstances have interfered with plans to write a number of articles. Much has happened in the past few weeks, both in the world an in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. However, none of what happened is new or surprising in the slightest.
A body of work exists on this site that has examined all manner of events that occur in our anti-Incarnational world of Modernity. Much of this work is highly repetitive as there are only so many ways to point out that Judeo-Masonic naturalism was designed by the adversary himself to bring us to the point of nations in which substantial numbers of people support every shibboleth proposed by the statists, up to and including the gradual diminution of their own legitimate Natural Law liberties. For anyone at this late date to expect that one set of naturalist can retard the advances made by another set of naturalists is to ignore the simple fact that naturalism is evil in se and can only lead to the paganizing of men and their nations.
What most people, including most Catholics, fail to understand is that Democrats and Republicans in the United States of America agree on the basic naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist and semi-Pelagian principles of the American founding, disagreeing on the specifics as to the conduct of public policy in light of those principles. Thus it is that "liberal" and "conservative" Catholics accept those same false principles as they diverge on the specifics of public policy according to the political "camp" which they believe represents the best means of achieving various goals. Both "liberal" and "conservative" Catholics are as one in rejecting the simple truths of the Catholic Faith as binding upon their consciences and that they apply to the concrete circumstances to be found in the United States of America, believing that their naturalistic or non-denominational ideas and plans and strategies can "win the day" for their respective causes.
Such beliefs are delusional. Events in the world around us prove this point repeatedly, which is why it is so exasperating to have comment on developments that are entirely unsurprising.
The of my own work can be summarized in the following words written by Pope Pius XI nearly eighty-eight years ago:
They waste their energies and consume their time and efforts in vain sterile attempts to find a remedy for these ills, but without even being successful in saving what little remains from the existing ruin. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)
This is what has been happening before our very eyes as various sets of naturalists sought to “replace” a statist takeover of the healthcare industry with something that was based on acceptance of the false premises upon which the takeover had been premised in the first place. Goodies once instituted become impossible to rescind. Dependency constituencies get created each time such goodies are bestowed, and professional politicians want to do nothing to jeopardize such goodies upon which large numbers of their constituents depend.
One could thus ignore the entirety of last week’s debate in the United State Senate as it was eminently predictable. In the briefest of terms, I have been telling you for the past five years that ObamaCare is here to stay. Here is a review of the various ways that I have tried to explain this fact:
Although very few people read these articles and fewer yet seem willing to accept what is for them the hard truths that I write about the inevitable degeneration of a nation founded on false principles, let me state an additional hard truth that even fewer readers will be able to accept or understand as they become agitated into "doing something" to reverse the decision rendered yesterday of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the combined cases of National Federation of Independent Business, et al. v. Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, et al. and Department of Health and Human Services, et al. v. Florida, et al. That decision is here to stay. The so-called Protection Protection and Affordable Care Act, herein after referred to quite properly as ObamaCare. is here to stay. It is not going away. (Here To Stay, June 29, 2012.)
Leaving aside the fact that I had mentioned numerous times in 2012 that Willard Mitt Romney was not campaigning against ObamaCare because this statist monstrosity was based upon his own RomneyCare that was instituted during his single term as the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I noted after Republicans recaptured control of the United States Senate in 2014 that nothing of then President Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro’s agenda, including ObamaCare. was in any kind of jeopardy of being reversed:
The United States of America has long sanctioned sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance under cover of the civil law and in every nook and cranny of what passes for popular culture.
Yet it is that even many fully traditional Catholics in the catacombs continue to believe that this or that election is going to retard the advance of the grave evils that are the product of the natural degeneration of the welter of naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferent, semi-Pelagian errors of the founders, some of whom had a founding hatred for Christ the King.
The results of the midterm Congressional elections held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, were certainly a stunning rebuke of the policies and the criminality of the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, who remains as unbent and as unapologetic in his beliefs as he was after the results of the midterm Congressional elections that were held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, that were nowhere near as devastating to him or to his political party as were the results of two days ago.
That having been noted, however, the results of the elections that were held on November 4, 2014, do not mean that the era of limited government is upon us or that much time will be spent investigating Obama/Soetoro’s lawless disregard of various provisions of the Constitution of the United States of America and any and all laws, including the terms of his own “Affordable Care Act”/ObamaCare.
Those who are so excited about the results of the elections held two days ago now seem to forget that one of the reasons that Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, who is, after all, the end product of Americanism, remains defiantly reckless in his lawless disregard of the laws of God and the just laws of men is that he believes in the righteousness of his cause to complete the transformation of the United States of America into an exact replica of Eurosocialism, that is, of cradle-to-grave government entitlement programs and of a form of statism that is nothing other than a “soft” totalitarianism made possible by government monitoring of our written and oral communications, of our purchases and of our travels.
Unlike his counterparts who constitute the leadership of the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “right,” the Republican Party, Barack Hussein Obama makes no compromises on his basic beliefs, which include his commitment to the absolute “right” of a woman to kill her innocent preborn baby at any time for any reason without any reservation, qualification or conditions whatsoever and, of course, his attempt to engineer a change in human behavior in the name of “climate control.” (Sin Maketh Nations Miserable)
Things were no different once Republicans had control of the presidency and both houses of Congress on January 20, 2017, as President Donald John Trump was entirely unprepared to govern and thought that a “deal” could be worked out to “replace” ObamaCare even though the Federal government of the United States of America had no constitutional authority to control the healthcare system. Although the United States House of Representatives eventually passed what was called the American Health Care Act on May 4, 2017, by a vote of 217-213, forty-two days after it had been withdrawn at the behest of Trump and House Speaker Paul Davis Ryan (R-Wisconsin), what I wrote at the time of its withdrawal explained once again that ObamaCare is here to stay:
Trump gave no thought about this in the slightest. He is not a man given to study, no less to consider that he does not know, if anything, about the Constitution of the United States of America or how the Federal government actually works. The first two months of his administration have proven how completely unprepared he was to govern, which involves more than sending out “tweets” and holding political-style rallies.
Second, also ill-prepared to govern as the party-in-power were the likes of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Paul Davis Ryan (R-Wisconsin), a conciliar Catholic who listens to “heavy metal,” something that has, no doubt, affected his rational thought processes (as has conciliarism, obviously), and his handpicked leadership team, including various committee chairmen, with whom he plotted behind closed doors—and without any input from other members of the House Republican Caucus—to craft a “health care” bill that was kept the basic structure of ObamaCare in place. So much for seven years of rhetoric about repealing ObamaCare, which I, for one, never took seriously. Not once. These careerists are predictable, and it just amazes me that so many people, including Catholics, fall for these empty promises time and time again.
The hapless, spineless creatures of tort lawyers and lobbyists for insurance companies had seven years to plan what would happen once the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) was repealed. Seven years. Not once did any of these “conservative” statists ever state that there was no constitutional justification for Obama/Care.
Rather, the clowns in the Republican clown car have decided that, yes, indeed, Obama/Care is here to stay in some form or another, but their effort to convince members of the House Freedom Caucus that ObamaCare Lite was not still Obama/Care by another name, which it was, was entirely transparent. (Everyone Loses When Our King Reigneth Not Ove Men and Their Nations, part three.)
Obviously, this all begs the question somewhat as there was no reason to be excited about the American Health Care Act (RyanCare/ObamaCare Lite) since There Is Nothing "Pro-Life" About RyanCare.
All right, let me say it: I told you, and I have been telling you so for a very long time now. The hapless creatures of the false opposite of the naturalist “right” are so afraid of their own shadows that they are incapable of making any kind of true effort even on a level of pure naturalism to retard the growth of the monster state of Modernity.
Well, as long I am in an “I told you so” fr let me remind the readers of this site that told you back in 2008 that United States Senator John Sidney McCain III (R-Arizona) was a man without any kind of guiding principles, whether supernatural or natural, whatsoever. No one should be surprised that this reckless war monger cast the deciding vote in the United States Senate to block what was called a “skinny repeal” of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Here is a partial listing of some of the articles that I wrote in 2008 about McCain, who waged a campaign against then United States Senator Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro (D-Illinois) that was as inept and aimless as that had been waged by the hapless, inarticulate thirty-third degree Freemason named Robert Joseph Dole, Jr., against then President William Jeffeson Blythe Clinton in 1996: Clueless Then, Clueless Now, Modernity's Fools, Bob Dole, part trois, Absolute Insanity, Facts Are Troublesome Things, Such Are The Joys of Pluralism, Desiring to Stay Ignorant, Fallacies Galore, Willfully Trapped by Apostasy, It's Still Absolute Insanity, Figures of Antichrist, Bob Dole's Many Faces, Different Chief, Same War Drums.
There is no commitment on the part of most career Republican politicians to the concept of limit government even on a level of pure naturalism. All that matters is the winning of elections as a means to retain and enhance their own personal power and perquisites, among which are the sumptuous meals that they enjoy at the finest restaurants in and around Washington, District of Columbia, on the dime of lobbyists representing corporate interests, including those of the American deathcare industry, and nice vacations to foreign locales that are described as Congressional "fact-finding missions."
President Donald John Trump, whose presidency itself is facing a mortal threat from the agents of deep state, including "special counsel" Robert Mueller, that Trump thought he could win over by a combination of praise and subtle intimidation, has done little to create a political environment that serves as any kind of threat to the career of Republican senators and representatives. Unlike the late President Ronald Wilson Reagan, Trump has not used the bully pulpit of the presidency to convince Americans to support, say, the repeal of ObamaCare,or any of his other policy objectives. One cannot govern by means of large rallies and "tweets," and one certainly cannot govern effectively if his administration is filled with holdovers from his immediate predecessor's administration who are hostile to his agenda continuing to serve in key positions of administrative decision-making.
Trump is thus the victim of his exaggerated estimation of his ability to get what he wants even though neither he nor anyone on his campaign or transition teams were prepared to move speedily with the filling of important political positions in the executive branch of the Federal government. Such an ignorance of how the Federal government works has been a tremendous factor explaining why the forty-fifth president has been unable to to advance even sound policy initiatives such as significant changes in legal immigration policies,
Remember, those who compose the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist "left" actually believe passionately in their statist agenda. They never compromise and they never give their hapless opponents any quarter. Most Republicans are afraid of their own shadow, and many are quite content to thwart a president who they believe will be forced to resign or face impeachment.
Alas, as I have explained so many times in the past, a country founded in false premises is bound to degenerate into a state of chaos over time. The speed of this process of degeneration has accelerated in the past fifty years precisely because the wellsprings of a superabundance of Actual Graces, each of which flows out into the world from true offerings of the Holy Mass at the hands of true priests, have dried up as a result of the sacramental validity of the conciliar rites of episcopal consecration, priestly ordination and the "renewed liturgy" (the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical service) itself. More order existed in the country sixty years ago because the gates of hell were being held back by offerings of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition by true priests in every Roman Rite parish. This is no longer the case, hence the process of decay has accelerated at lightning speed.
Those who expect that this or that naturalist of the "right" will be able to prevail over the forces of the "left" and their deep state enablers will find themselves as frustrated as the fictional Sisyphus was in his effort to push a boulder up a hill time and time again even though the boulder would roll down on top of him each time he got close to the top. That which is false cannot produce true social over the course of time. That is false must degernate into the mess in which we find ourselves.
Our true popes have taught why this is so:
To hold, therefore, that there is no difference in matters of religion between forms that are unlike each other, and even contrary to each other, most clearly leads in the end to the rejection of all religion in both theory and practice. And this is the same thing as atheism, however it may differ from it in name. Men who really believe in the existence of God must, in order to be consistent with themselves and to avoid absurd conclusions, understand that differing modes of divine worship involving dissimilarity and conflict even on most important points cannot all be equally probable, equally good, and equally acceptable to God. (Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885.)
But in this same matter, touching Christian faith, there are other duties whose exact and religious observance, necessary at all times in the interests of eternal salvation, become more especially so in these our days. Amid such reckless and widespread folly of opinion, it is, as We have said, the office of the Church to undertake the defense of truth and uproot errors from the mind, and this charge has to be at all times sacredly observed by her, seeing that the honor of God and the salvation of men are confided to her keeping. But, when necessity compels, not those only who are invested with power of rule are bound to safeguard the integrity of faith, but, as St. Thomas maintains: "Each one is under obligation to show forth his faith, either to instruct and encourage others of the faithful, or to repel the attacks of unbelievers." To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth, is the part of a man either devoid of character or who entertains doubt as to the truth of what he professes to believe. In both cases such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God, and both are incompatible with the salvation of mankind. This kind of conduct is profitable only to the enemies of the faith, for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good. Moreover, want of vigor on the part of Christians is so much the more blameworthy, as not seldom little would be needed on their part to bring to naught false charges and refute erroneous opinions, and by always exerting themselves more strenuously they might reckon upon being successful. After all, no one can be prevented from putting forth that strength of soul which is the characteristic of true Christians, and very frequently by such display of courage our enemies lose heart and their designs are thwarted. Christians are, moreover, born for combat, whereof the greater the vehemence, the more assured, God aiding, the triumph: "Have confidence; I have overcome the world." Nor is there any ground for alleging that Jesus Christ, the Guardian and Champion of the Church, needs not in any manner the help of men. Power certainly is not wanting to Him, but in His loving kindness He would assign to us a share in obtaining and applying the fruits of salvation procured through His grace.
The chief elements of this duty consist in professing openly and unflinchingly the Catholic doctrine, and in propagating it to the utmost of our power. For, as is often said, with the greatest truth, there is nothing so hurtful to Christian wisdom as that it should not be known, since it possesses, when loyally received, inherent power to drive away error. (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)
A system of morality based exclusively on human reason robs man of his highest dignity and lowers him from the supernatural to the merely natural life. Not but that man is able by the right use of reason to know and to obey certain principles of the natural law. But though he should know them all and keep them inviolate through life-and even this is impossible without the aid of the grace of our Redeemer-still it is vain for anyone without faith to promise himself eternal salvation. "If anyone abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire, and he burneth" john xv., 6). "He that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark xvi., 16). We have but too much evidence of the value and result of a morality divorced from divine faith. How is it that, in spite of all the zeal for the welfare of the masses, nations are in such straits and even distress, and that the evil is daily on the increase? We are told that society is quite able to help itself; that it can flourish without the assistance of Christianity, and attain its end by its own unaided efforts. Public administrators prefer a purely secular system of government. All traces of the religion of our forefathers are daily disappearing from political life and administration. What blindness! Once the idea of the authority of God as the Judge of right and wrong is forgotten, law must necessarily lose its primary authority and justice must perish: and these are the two most powerful and most necessary bonds of society. Similarly, once the hope and expectation of eternal happiness is taken away, temporal goods will be greedily sought after. Every man will strive to secure the largest share for himself. Hence arise envy, jealousy, hatred. The consequences are conspiracy, anarchy, nihilism. There is neither peace abroad nor security at home. Public life is stained with crime.
So great is this struggle of the passions and so serious the dangers involved, that we must either anticipate ultimate ruin or seek for an efficient remedy. It is of course both right and necessary to punish malefactors, to educate the masses, and by legislation to prevent crime in every possible way: but all this is by no means sufficient. The salvation of the nations must be looked for higher. A power greater than human must be called in to teach men's hearts, awaken in them the sense of duty, and make them better. This is the power which once before saved the world from destruction when groaning under much more terrible evils. Once remove all impediments and allow the Christian spirit to revive and grow strong in a nation, and that nation will be healed. The strife between the classes and the masses will die away; mutual rights will be respected. If Christ be listened to, both rich and poor will do their duty. The former will realise that they must observe justice and charity, the latter self-restraint and moderation, if both are to be saved. Domestic life will be firmly established ( by the salutary fear of God as the Lawgiver. In the same way the precepts of the natural law, which dictates respect for lawful authority and obedience to the laws, will exercise their influence over the people. Seditions and conspiracies will cease. Wherever Christianity rules over all without let or hindrance there the order established by Divine Providence is preserved, and both security and prosperity are the happy result. The common welfare, then, urgently demands a return to Him from whom we should never have gone astray; to Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and this on the part not only of individuals but of society as a whole. We must restore Christ to this His own rightful possession. All elements of the national life must be made to drink in the Life which proceedeth from Him- legislation, political institutions, education, marriage and family life, capital and labour. Everyone must see that the very growth of civilisation which is so ardently desired depends greatly upon this, since it is fed and grows not so much by material wealth and prosperity, as by the spiritual qualities of morality and virtue. (Pope Leo XIII, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900.)
. . . . for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion; it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1950.)
The words of our true popes are either true or they are not. If they are true, which they are, of course, then they are merely expressions of what is in fact true and thus binding upon all men in all places at all times without exception.
Yes, true, we live in the midst of a world where these truths are rejected by most Catholics, principally because they (and their parents and grandparents and great grandparents) were never taught anything about them by the true bishops of the past or by their worthy successors in the Americanist heresy, the faux bishops of the United States of America.
Some might argue that we have do “what we can” to retard evils, making whatever compromises in the practical order of things that appear to be justified by the circumstances, including voting for odious candidates who will not only not retard evils but will make sure that they become more and more institutionalized and as they themselves become willing enablers and accomplices in the growth of the “soft” totalitarianism of the modern police state.
There is nothing that I can write that will dissuade people form believing what they want to believe.
As one who has followed politics since the presidential election of 1956 when I was five years of age and who has made its study my life’s work as a college professor, writer and speaker, I know all too well that the trajectory of degeneration that has occurred in the past six decades despite all of the most well-intentioned efforts to “stop” this or that boogeyman or to oppose or to support this or that Congressional legislation. Futility awaits those who put their hopes in the ability of naturalists to combat the evils that are caused by naturalism.
Pope Leo XIII was very clear on this one point:
The Church, it is certain, at no time and in no particular is deserted by God; hence, there is no reason why she should be alarmed at the wickedness of men; but in the case of nations falling away from Christian virtue there is not a like ground of assurance, "for sin maketh nations miserable." If every bygone age has experienced the force of this truth, wherefore should not our own? There are, in truth, very many signs which proclaim that just punishments are already menacing, and the condition of modern States tends to confirm this belief, since we perceive many of them in sad plight from intestine disorders, and not one entirely exempt. But, should those leagued together in wickedness hurry onward in the road they have boldly chosen, should they increase in influence and power in proportion as they make headway in their evil purposes and crafty schemes, there will be ground to fear lest the very foundations nature has laid for States to rest upon be utterly destroyed. Nor can such misgivings be removed by any mere human effort, especially as a vast number of men, having rejected the Christian faith, are on that account justly incurring the penalty of their pride, since blinded by their passions they search in vain for truth, laying hold on the false for the true, and thinking themselves wise when they call "evil good, and good evil," and "put darkness in the place of light, and light in the place of darkness." It is therefore necessary that God come to the rescue, and that, mindful of His mercy, He turn an eye of compassion on human society. (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)
Men today, blinded and made miserable by their own sins, do indeed lay hold on the false for the true and consider themselves very wise when they call "evil good, and good evil" and "put darkness in the place of light, and light in the place of darkness." Even Trump himself has no clear undrestanding of what is true and good, which is why he is ready prey for those who are very clear in their support of what is evil and are quite content not only to live in the darkness but to extend its reach as far as they can by the brute power of the civil state.
Total trust in the Mother of God and her Fatima Message as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits to console the good God and to make reparation for our own sins, each of which has worsened both the state of the world-at-large and the state of the Church Militant here on earth in this time of apostasy and betrayal.
This time of chastisement will pass. The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be made manifest.
True, we may not be alive to witness this triumph. We can, however, plant the seeds for it by our patient endurance of the crosses of the moment as we make whatever sacrifice necessary and endure whatever calumny, humiliation and hardship that is required in order to make no concessions to falsehoods, whether of Modernity or Modernism, of any kind at any time for any reason.
Let us lift high the Cross of Christ the King, He Who is the King of men and their nations even though most men do not realize this and even though most nations seek to suppress all mention of His Holy Name and mock any possibility that He is their King, the King Who will come in glory to judge the living and dead.
