"Reform" For Jorge Constitutes A Rejection of Catholic Certitude, part two
[Update on the Feast of Pope Saint Marcellus I: Although I had expected the next article to be completed by now a variety of unforeseen circumstances have caused work on it to be done a little bit at a time. It is my hope to complete the article later today, Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Thank you.]
The Argentine Apostate, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, is a blaspheming heretic who never misses a turn to project onto the Gospel of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ his own naturalist proclivities of the “leftist” variety in order to make it appear that, at long last, he has “recovered” the “real” meaning of Our Lord’s mission; to provide equality, economic opportunity and cradle-to-the-grave welfare policies for all. Peace in the world, Bergoglio believes, will come when his chimerical, Marxist view of “social equality” and “economic justice” has eliminated all distinctions among men, thereby eliminating the need for national borders.
Additionally, Bergoglio is such a gnostic manipulator of Divine Revelation that he thinks nothing of using the solemnity of the Nativity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to evangelize in behalf of his Marxist worldview and to urge openness to “new forms of social relationships, that is, to accept as normal, natural and thus inherently good. Bergoglio is so deceived by the adversary that he has no clue about the fact that words such as these below continue to damn himself to the lowest reaches of hell:
And there, where everything was a challenge, Mary gave us Emmanuel. The Son of God had to be born in a stable because his own had no room for him. “He came to what was his own and his own people did not accept him” (Jn 1:11). And there, amid the gloom of a city that had no room or place for the stranger from afar, amid the darkness of a bustling city which in this case seemed to want to build itself up by turning its back on others… it was precisely there that the revolutionary spark of God’s love was kindled. In Bethlehem, a small chink opens up for those who have lost their land, their country, their dreams; even for those overcome by the asphyxia produced by a life of isolation.
So many other footsteps are hidden in the footsteps of Joseph and Mary. We see the tracks of entire families forced to set out in our own day. We see the tracks of millions of persons who do not choose to go away but, driven from their land, leave behind their dear ones. In many cases this departure is filled with hope, hope for the future; yet for many others this departure can only have one name: survival. Surviving the Herods of today, who, to impose their power and increase their wealth, see no problem in shedding innocent blood.
Mary and Joseph, for whom there was no room, are the first to embrace the One who comes to give all of us our document of citizenship. The One who in his poverty and humility proclaims and shows that true power and authentic freedom are shown in honouring and assisting the weak and the frail. (Antipope's Christmas Midnight Leftist Screed and Apologio in Behalf of Immorality.)
What utter blasphemy.
To compare the journey of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem to comply in an orderly manner with a just decree issued by Emperor Caesar Augustus with the waves of immigrants invading Europe and the United States of America as part of a planned, engineered enterprise to change the demographic composition of nations and to complete what the scions of Judeo-Masonry have long desired, the final elimination of the public vestiges of the Faith in the world, is obscene.
Let me repeat myself so that I will not be understood.
The very man, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who ignores the daily slaughter of the preborn and indemnifies both pro-abortion politicians and actual abortionists at almost every turn without exception—who, quite indeed, has appointed pro-aborts to the “Pontifical” Academy for Life, used his “homily” for the Midnight staging of the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical travesty to imply that President Donald John Trump, who is, of course, a complete stooge of one branch of the synagogue of satan, is a modern “Herod” because he desires to provide for the integrity of this nation’s borders and enforce existing immigration laws. Leaving aside the fact, to be explored in the next article to be published on this site, that Trump has a very liberal view on illegal immigration, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who is one of George Soros’s numerous useful idiots, used his Christmas Midnight “homily” to say illegal immigrants are being denied their place in the inn today because of alleged nativists such as the current American president.
Moreover, the document of “citizenship” that Our Lord provides us in the baptismal font is to Heaven. He came to shed His blood to redeem souls so that weak vessels of clay could grow in Sanctifying Grace and avoid sin, not to ignore the just laws of nations that have a Natural Law right to secure their borders and to provide for the safety and public health of their citizens.
Our Lord came to embrace anonymity and poverty to teach us to eschew the embrace of the world and to have a poverty of the spirit that will inspire us to seek Heaven with every beat of our hearts, which must be conformed to His own Sacred Heart through the love and perfection of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Contrast the naturalism of Jorge Mario Bergoglio with the sober Catholic truths offered by Father Maurice Meschler, who was a true priest of the Society of Jesus, in his beautiful reflection on the Holy Family’s journey to and arrival in Bethlehem:
The occasion of the journey was twofold.
The first, most immediate and exterior occasion came from the order of the Roman Emperor Augustus, enjoining a census and enrolment of the whole empire, including therefore the conquered kingdoms, to which Judaea, the kingdom of Herod, also belonged (Luke ii. 1). Cyrinus, the governor of Syria, made the enrolment in Herod’s dominions (Luke ii. 2), and, as was the immemorial custom of the nation and country (Num. i. 2; xxvi. 2. 2. Kings xxiv. 2), according to tribes, houses and families, so that the head of every family had to go to the place where his ancestors had originally where his ancestors had originally been settled (Luke ii. 3). For the family of David this place was Bethlehem. Joseph and Mary therefore betook themselves thither. The reason why Mary accompanied St. Joseph may possibly have been the circumstance that she was the last scion of a branch of the family of David, or that St. Joseph had some thought of settling in Bethlehem; but in any case there were also other and higher reasons.
The design of God in permitting this census to be taken just at the time of Christ’s Birth provides another motive for the journey. It is plainly to be seen from the fact of this census being taken by Roman officials in Herod’s in kingdom, that the sceptre was taken from Juda, indeed that the government of Herod himself was as good as absorbed in the great Roman empire, according to the prophecy of Daniel (ii. 40; vii. 23). The Savior was thus to be officially recorded as the Son of David, and entered as a member of the last great world-kingdom, which He was to win for Himself and incorporate in is eternal dominion. Tertullian (C. Marc. 4. 19) and St. Justin (Apol. 1, 4) bear witness to the enrolment of Jesus in the registers of the kingdom. –Further, the prophecy of Micheas, which designates Bethlehem as the birthplace of the Messias (Mich. V. 2.), was thus to be fulfilled. –Lastly, Christ was to come into the world in poverty and obscurity. In order to bring about these circumstances, there was no better or more natural opportunity than the concourse of people in Bethlehem in consequence of the census. Humble and full of the spirit of Jesus as Mary was, still she would scarcely have brought herself to await her delivery in a stable. All this was now provided for, and without any angel’s message. The government order for the enrolment of the people, then, was only an instrument to satisfy the preference of Jesus for poverty, humility and obedience. It was probably for these higher reasons that God put it into Mary’s heart to undertake the journey to Bethlehem with Joseph; and these certainly were the considerations which finally persuaded her to do so under such circumstances. Whilst perhaps not a few of the Jews gnashed their teeth over the new order of the foreign ruler, Mary and Joseph probably saw therein only the Divine Providence which was preparing for the Savior.
2. The Journey
So Mary and Joseph started on their journey Luke ii. 4 5), in connection with which we find three subjects of meditation.
The first is the patience of the Holy Family. The journey was fairly long, four days and a half at the least, and brought many discomforts with it. Their way led either by Sichem, Bethel and Jerusalem, or along the banks of the Jordan and Jerusalem to Bethlehem. It was in the month of December, during which it can be bitterly cold in the mountainous districts of the Promised Land, with west wind, rain and snow. At all events the journey was not a mere pleasant outing. But they bore everything with patience.
Secondly, their modesty and humility must be considered. For the higher families of the kingdom, especially for the members of the house of David, this journey gave a welcome opportunity to assert themselves again and bring themselves into public notice. For this reason they probably made every effort to appear in a style befitting their rank. Mary and Joseph assuredly did nothing of this kind. They travelled humbly, as became people of the working class. Others drive; they walk; everyone outstrips them, and they give place to all. And yet who are they? The noblest and holiest of beings. What ancestors of our Saviour ever journey so unassumingly through the country? Think of the pomp with which the Ark of the Covenant was once carried through these districts! Here is the living Ark of the Lord. And she passes along, bestowing blessings right and left, and no one has any suspicion of it.
The third thing to be noted is the spirit of recollection and prayer in which the Holy Family made this journey. Men become more recollected and more silent, the nearer God approaches them. What could be compared to the recollection in which our Saviour attracted all the thought and attention of His Mother and St. Joseph to Himself! They were the only souls who knew of the mystery; the only ones who, by their prayer and longing, could represent the human race. So they probably spoke little and prayed much; indeed, they were constantly lost in quite prayer, in the midst of the disturbance and tumult of the journey.
3. The Arrival in Bethlehem
So Joseph and Mary came to Bethlehem (see Introd. p. 8). Perhaps the setting sun was just lighting up the white rows of houses on the hills, as Mary and Joseph with their ass approached the little town, coming through the terraces to the inn for travellers. But the inn was already occupied, and the town full of strangers. But many a house may the little family have passed, seeking shelter, and at many a door St. Joseph have given a humble knock –they were overlooked in the crowd, or coldly repulsed. In the meantime the evening was drawing in; the doors closed; the doors were closed, and no lodging was found. So at last they turned their steps away from the little town, outside of which St. Joseph knew of a kind of cave, a shelter for animals. They arrived at it, to wait for the ever memorable hour of our Lord’s Birth. In the East, certainly, it is nothing unusual to pass the night or even to live entirely in caves and grottoes; the inner part of the dwellings is often hewn out of the rocks; but in this case the sojourn has something infinitely touching about it. They are the holiest, the best and the highest of God’s creatures, and they are so inhospitably lodged, everything is so unprepared, so poor and desolate, whilst the little town there, with its lights, stately houses, and the extensive palace built by Herod, offers hospitable reception and the comforts of home to less worthy persons. They are the heirs of the Hose of David, and Bethlehem is the town of David; the Bethlehemites, descendants of Hur and Mary (Ex. xvii. 10; xxiv. 14. Par. iv. 4), of Booz and Jesse, do not take them in, but let them seek shelter where the animals find theirs, outside the town. What a touching contrast! They were God’s nearest and dearest, and yet Go Himself seems to forsake them and not to thin of them. He provides for all others on this evening, but for them nothing is prepared, and not even the barest necessities. There seems scarcely to be a Providence for them.
And how did Mary and Joseph bear the trial? Certainly quite in the spirit of our Saviour. It was the first slight and humiliation that He met with in this world. The world does not want Him, does not know Him, because He does not come as it had expected Him to come. The little Heart of our Saviour rejoices at this, and He imparts His thoughts and sentiments to His parents. Assuredly it was only with reluctance that they had asked hospitality, because they feared to be troublesome. They knew how to excuse every refusal; full of gentleness, patience and charity, they left the little town, and only God knew of their quiet sadness. This is the second shadow that the Cross and Mount Calvary case over Jesus and Mary. It was the first meeting of the Messias with His people, with His own, His fellow-citizens of Bethlehem, and they received Him not (Jn. i. 11). In the East hospitality is otherwise as common as the flower of the field; only for God it does no seem to exist. He receives no hospitality, either at His Birth or at His Death.
So the holy night drew on, apparently insignificant as any other night, and wrapped Bethlehem and the world in its shades. The nations under the sceptre of the Roman Rule, and the pagan world, wearied with its earthly and sinful work, lay down to rest as usual, and had no suspicion how near their God was. Except for the dreary consciousness of sin, the weariness of earthly strivings, and the universal peace which had at last succeeded the cruel wars, there was scarcely any preparation made by the human race for the visible coming of God. Only there in the poor cave Joseph and Mary watched by the dim light of a little fire. They are the praying heart of the world. So it was, and so it is. The world does not know God, does not think of Him. There must always be holy, chosen souls, who form the point of contact between heaven and earth. Their prayers, their supplications, their longings ae the clock of the divine counsels (Fr. Faber). This was the case here with Joseph and Mary. They certainly passed the night in prayer, and as Mary had once drawn the Son of Go down from the bosom of His Heavenly Father by her longing, so now the same longing allured Him from her own womb. We will unite ourselves to them. It is Christmas Eve. Let us sanctify ourselves (so the Church exhorts us in the holy Office), and let us prepare ourselves! In a few hours the Lord will be with us, and we shall see the glory of God. The misdeeds of the earth will be blotted out, and the Redeemer of the world will rule over us. Fiat! Fiat! (Father Maurice Meschler, S. J., pp. 124-129.)
The focus of Father Meschler’s reflections was on the supernatural, not the natural. He did not make of the Holy Family’s journey to Bethlehem something that it was a not, namely, a political statement about the “rights” of illegal immigrants. Our Lord came in anonymity in Bethlehem to die in ignominy on the wood of the Holy Cross to pay back in His Sacred Humanity the debt of sin that was owed to Him in His infinity as God. There was no sense, no less mention, of any of this in Bergoglio’s outrageous “homily.”
Our Lady taught the Venerable Mary of Agreda the true lessons to be learned from the journey of the Holy Family to Bethlehem and their following the will of God Himself that His Co-Equal, Co-Eternal Divine Son would be born in stable and placed in a manger, a feeding trough for animals, within a cave the city of David, the Bethlehem, the House of Bread in which the Bread came down from Heaven would be born, at Midnight, in piercing cold:
My dearest daughter, if thou art of a meek and docile heart these mysteries about which thou hast written and understood shall stir within thee sweet sentiments of love and affection toward the Author of such great wonders. Bearing them in mind, I desire thee from this day on to embrace with new and great esteem the contempt and neglect of the world. And tell me, friend, if in exchange for this forgetfulness and scorn of the world God looks upon thee with eyes of sweetest love, why wouldst thou not buy so cheaply what is worth an infinite price? What can the world give thee, even when it esteems thee and exalts thee the most? And what dost thou lose if thou despise it? Is not its favor all vanity and deceit (Ps. 4:3)? Is it not all a fleeting and momentary shadow (Wis. 5:9), which eludes the grasp of those who hasten after it? Hence if thou didst have all worldly advantage in thy possession, what great feat would it be to despise it as of no value? Consider well how little thou shalt do in casting it aside in order to gain the love of God and mine, and that of the holy Angels. And if the world does not neglect thee as much as thou dost desire, do thou on thy own behalf despise it in order to remain free and unhampered to enjoy to the full extent the highest Good with the plenitude of his most delightful love and conversation.
465. My most holy Son is such a faithful Lover of souls that He has set me as the Teacher and living example of the love of humility and true contempt of worldly vanity and pride. He ordained also for his own glory as well as for my sake that I, his servant and Mother, would be left without shelter and be turned away by mortals, so afterwards his beloved souls would be so much the more readily induced to offer Him a welcome, thus obliging Him by an artifice of love to come and remain with them. He also sought destitution and poverty not because He had any need of them for bringing the practice of virtues to the highest perfection, but in order to teach mortals the shortest and surest way for reaching the heights of divine love and union with God.
466. Thou knowest well, my dearest, thou hast been incessantly instructed and exhorted by divine enlightenment to forget the terrestrial and visible, girding thyself with fortitude (Prov. 31:17) and raising thyself to the imitation of me, copying in thyself, according to thy capacity, the works and virtues manifested to thee in my life. This is the very first purpose of the knowledge which thou dost receive in writing this History, for thou hast in me a perfect model, and by it thou canst arrange the converse and conduct of thy life in the same manner as I arranged mine in imitation of my sweetest Son. The dread with which this command to imitate me has inspired thee as being above thy strength thou must moderate, and thou must acquire courage by what my most holy Son said as recorded by the evangelist St. Matthew: Be you perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect (Mt. 5:48). The fulfillment of this command of the Most High imposed upon his holy Church is not impossible, and if his faithful children on their part dispose themselves properly He shall deny to none of them the grace of attaining this resemblance to the heavenly Father. All this my most holy Son has merited for them, but the degrading forgetfulness and neglect of men hinder them from maturing within themselves the fruits of his Redemption.
467. Of thee particularly I expect this perfection, and I invite thee to it by the sweet law of love which accompanies my instruction. Ponder and scrutinize by the divine light the obligation under which I place thee, and labor to correspond to it with prudence like a faithful and solicitous daughter. Let no difficulty or hardship disturb thee nor deter thee from any virtuous exercise, no matter how hard it may be. Neither must thou be content with striving after the love of God and the salvation of thyself alone; if thou wouldst be perfect in imitating me and fulfilling all the Gospel teaches, thou must work for the salvation of other souls and the exaltation of the holy Name of my Son, making thyself an instrument in his powerful hands for the accomplishment of mighty works to advance his pleasure and glory. (The New English Edition of The Mystical City of God: Volume II: The Incarnation: Book Four, Chapter IX. Appendix A below contains the entirety of Our Lady’s narrative prior to this instruction.)
Our Lady exhorted the Venerable Mary of Agreda to work for the salvation of souls and exaltation of the Holy Name of her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There was not one word about the salvation of souls in “Pope Francis’s” Christmas Midnight “homily.” Indeed, there was not one word about sin within the text of what was yet another one of Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s humanist manifestos.
True, “Pope Francis” mentioned “sinners” in his “homily,” but he did do only in the context of welcoming sinners, not of converting them. He did not mention anything about Our Lord’s having been born to redeem them so that they could repent of their sins and reform:
That night, the One who had no place to be born is proclaimed to those who had no place at the table or in the streets of the city. The shepherds are the first to hear this Good News. By reason of their work, they were men and women forced to live on the edges of society. Their state of life, and the places they had to stay, prevented them from observing all the ritual prescriptions of religious purification; as a result, they were considered unclean. Their skin, their clothing, their smell, their way of speaking, their origin, all betrayed them. Everything about them generated mistrust. They were men and women to be kept at a distance, to be feared. They were considered pagans among the believers, sinners among the just, foreigners among the citizens. Yet to them – pagans, sinners and foreigners – the angel says: “Do not be afraid; for see – I am bringing you good news of great joy for the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is the Messiah, the Lord” (Lk 2:10-11).
This is the joy that we tonight are called to share, to celebrate and to proclaim. The joy with which God, in his infinite mercy, has embraced us pagans, sinners and foreigners, and demands that we do the same.
The faith we proclaim tonight makes us see God present in all those situations where we think he is absent. He is present in the unwelcomed visitor, often unrecognizable, who walks through our cities and our neighbourhoods, who travels on our buses and knocks on our doors.
This same faith impels us to make space for a new social imagination, and not to be afraid of experiencing new forms of relationship, in which none have to feel that there is no room for them on this earth. Christmas is a time for turning the power of fear into the power of charity, into power for a new imagination of charity. The charity that does not grow accustomed to injustice, as if it were something natural, but that has the courage, amid tensions and conflicts, to make itself a “house of bread”, a land of hospitality. That is what Saint John Paul II told us: “Do not be afraid! Open wide the doors for Christ” (Homily for the Inauguration of the Pontificate, 22 October 1978). (Antipope's Christmas Midnight Leftist Screed and Apologio in Behalf of Immorality.)
Pure naturalism.
Worse yet, Bergoglio’s screed was yet another of his own self-justification before men as he engaged in yet another series of distortions and misrepresentations designed to make it appear that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ embraces pagans as pagans and sinners as sinners without making any demands upon pagans to convert or for sinners to repent and reform.
Bergoglio was even vulgar enough to speak of “new forms of relationships” a part of a supposedly “new social imagination,” clearly intending to refer to those engaged in perverse sins against nature up to and including those who mutilate their bodies by surgical and chemical means in the vain effort to “change” the gender that God gave them in the womb.
Pope Pius XI, writing in Casti Connubii, December 31, 1930, specifically warned about those who militate in behalf of what he called “new species of unions”:
Armed with these principles, some men go so far as to concoct new species of unions, suited, as they say, to the present temper of men and the times, which various new forms of matrimony they presume to label "temporary," "experimental," and "companionate." These offer all the indulgence of matrimony and its rights without, however, the indissoluble bond, and without offspring, unless later the parties alter their cohabitation into a matrimony in the full sense of the law.
Indeed there are some who desire and insist that these practices be legitimatized by the law or, at least, excused by their general acceptance among the people. They do not seem even to suspect that these proposals partake of nothing of the modern "culture" in which they glory so much, but are simply hateful abominations which beyond all question reduce our truly cultured nations to the barbarous standards of savage peoples. (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 31, 1930.)
Pope Pius XI described Antipope Francis perfectly as the Argentine Apostate is agog with a “modern culture” and its hateful abominations that has reduced cultured nations to the barbarous standards of savage people. In truth, Jorge Mario Bergoglio is a savage brute who glories in the flesh and believes that unrepentant sinners will be welcomed into the embrace of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour when they died, believing also that is judgmental and merciless to admonish the sinner. In other words, only the Corporal Works of Mercy matter to Bergoglio and his band of lavender-clad revolutionaries. The Spiritual Works of Mercy are “outdated” as they make sinners feel “uncomfortable” about themselves.
Moreover, the he rugged shepherds of the field who faithfully tended their flocks even in the midst of cold weather had been chosen by God from all eternity to be the first people on the face of the earth outside of the Holy Family to learn the news of Our Lord’s miraculous Nativity. The One who would proclaim Himself to be the Good Shepherd wanted the shepherds of the field to hear the Good News of His Birth as He would appoint shepherds to evangelize His Holy Gospel and to herd the flock of the One Sheepfold, the Catholic Church, to salvation.
Our Lady herself explained why the shepherds of the field, who were indeed despised by the world, were chosen to be first in the region of Bethlehem to hear the Good News and how they responded supernaturally, not naturally, to the Divine Child Whose countenance radiate the glorious wonder of His Sacred Divnity:
493. Among all these the shepherds of that region who were watching their flocks at the time of the birth of Christ were especially blessed (Lk. 2:8), not only because they accepted the labor and inconvenience of their calling from the hand of God with resignation, but also because being poor, humble, and despised by the world they belonged in sincerity and uprightness of heart to those Israelites who fervently hoped and longed for the coming of the Messiah, speaking and discoursing about Him among themselves many times. They resembled the Author of life since they were removed from the riches, vanity and ostentation of the world, and were far from its diabolical cunning. They exhibited in the circumstances of their calling the office which the Good Shepherd had come to fulfill in knowing his sheep (Jn. 10:14) and being known by them; thus they merited to be called and invited as the first fruits of the saints by the Savior himself, and the very first ones to whom the eternal and incarnate Word manifested Himself and by whom He wished to be praised, served and adored. For this purpose the archangel St. Gabriel himself was sent to them, and finding them keeping their night watches he appeared to them in human form and with great splendor (Lk. 2:9).
494. The shepherds found themselves suddenly enveloped and bathed in the celestial radiance of the Angel, and at his sight, being little versed in such visions, they were filled with great fear. The holy Prince reassured them and said (Ib. 10-12): “Ye sincere men, fear not; I bring you tidings of great joy, which is: For you this day is born the Savior, who is Christ our Lord, in the city of David. And as a sign of this truth you shall find the Infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger.” At these words of the Angel there suddenly appeared a great multitude of the heavenly army, who in voices of sweet harmony sang to the Most High these words: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will (Ib. 13-14). Rehearsing this divine canticle, so new to the world, the holy Angels disappeared. All this happened in the fourth watch of the night. By this angelic vision the humble and fortunate shepherds were filled with divine enlightenment and were unanimously impelled by a fervent longing to make certain of this blessing and witness with their own eyes the most high mystery of which they had been informed.
495. The signs which the holy Angels had indicated to them did not seem appropriate or proportioned for testifying to the greatness of the newborn Babe to eyes of the flesh, for to lie in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes would not have been convincing proof of the majesty of a king if these shepherds had not been illumined by divine light and been enabled to penetrate the mystery. Since they were devoid of the arrogant wisdom of the world they were easily made proficient in divine wisdom. Conferring among themselves regarding the thoughts excited by this message, they resolved to hasten in all speed to Bethlehem and see the wonder made known to them by the Lord (Ib. 15). They departed without delay, and entering the cave or portal they found, as the Evangelist St. Luke tells us (Ib. 16), Mary and Joseph, and the Infant lying in the manger. Seeing all this they recognized the truth of what they had heard of the Child. Upon this followed an interior enlightenment consequent upon seeing the Word made flesh, for when the shepherds looked upon Him He also glanced at them, emitting from his countenance a great effulgence which wounded with love the sincere heart of each of these poor yet fortunate men. With divine efficacy it changed and renewed them, constituting them in a new state of grace and holiness, and filling them with an exalted knowledge of the divine mysteries of the Incarnation and Redemption of the human race.
496. Prostrating themselves on the earth they adored the Word made flesh. Not any more as ignorant rustics, but as wise and prudent men they adored Him, acknowledging and magnifying Him as true God and man, and the Restorer and Redeemer of the human race. The heavenly Lady and Mother of the Child took notice of all they did interiorly and exteriorly, for She saw into their inmost hearts. In highest wisdom and prudence She preserved the memory of all these happenings and pondered them in her Heart (Ib. 19), comparing them with the other mysteries therein contained and with the holy prophecies and sayings of the Holy Scriptures. Since She was then the mouthpiece of the Holy Ghost and the representative of the Infant, She spoke to the shepherds, instructing and exhorting them to persevere in divine love and in the service of the Most High. They also conversed with Her on their part and showed by their answers they understood many of the mysteries. They remained in the cave from the beginning of dawn until midday, when having given them something to eat our great Queen sent them off full of heavenly grace and consolation. (New English Edition of The Mystical City of God: Volume II: The Incarnation: Book Four, Chapter XI.)
The poor shepherds of the field were made rich by the announcement of the Archangel Saint Gabriel. They were given infused knowledge of the miraculous event that had taken place, and they never again gave a thought to their own plight. The shepherds who had gazed upon the glorious, innocent face the Good Shepherd Whose Holy Face would be marred, beaten, torn, bruised and bloodied beyond recognition by our own sins thirty-three years later took seriously the words of Our Lady to persevere in the Faith. They thought supernaturally from thereon out for the rest of their lives, quite unlike the naturalist Bergoglio who seeks to make even the miracle of Christmas into a forum for promoting the leftist version of naturalism and “inclusiveness” for hardened sinners who want to be reaffirmed in sins that they also celebrate shamelessly in public while professing their “love” for God.
Let’s face facts: the new “social imagination” that Jorge Mario Bergoglio believes justifies “new social relationships” is all about indemnifying those who engage in sins, both natural and unnatural, against Holy Purity.
After all, it is not for nothing that the so-called “Nativity Display” in Saint Peter’s Square this year was designed by sodomite activists (see Scandalous Nativity Display Has Troubling Ties to Italy's Perversion Advocates for the sordid details if one is need of them) who wanted to send a message about those very forms of “new social relationships” that are not so “new” after all:
And when the men rose up from thence, they turned their eyes towards Sodom: and Abraham walked with them, bringing them on the way. And the Lord said: Can I hide from Abraham what I am about to do: Seeing he shall become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth shall be blessed? For I know that he will command his children, and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord, and do judgment and justice: that for Abraham's sake the Lord may bring to effect all the things he hath spoken unto him. And the Lord said: The cry of Sodom and Gomorrha is multiplied, and their sin is become exceedingly grievous.
I will go down and see whether they have done according to the cry that is come to me: or whether it be not so, that I may know. And they turned themselves from thence, and went their way to Sodom: but Abraham as yet stood before the Lord. And drawing nigh he said: Wilt thou destroy the just with the wicked? If there be fifty just men in the city, shall they perish withal? and wilt thou not spare that place for the sake of the fifty just, if they be therein? Far be it from thee to do this thing, and to slay the just with the wicked, and for the just to be in like case as the wicked, this is not beseeming thee: thou who judgest all the earth, wilt not make this judgment.
And the Lord said to him: If I find in Sodom fifty just within the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake. And Abraham answered, and said: Seeing I have once begun, I will speak to my Lord, whereas I am dust and ashes. What if there be five less than fifty just persons? wilt thou for five and forty destroy the whole city? And he said: I will not destroy it, if I find five and forty. And again he said to him: But if forty be found there, what wilt thou do? He said: I will not destroy it for the sake of forty. Lord, saith he, be not angry, I beseech thee, if I speak: What if thirty shall be found there? He answered: I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
Seeing, saith he, I have once begun, I will speak to my Lord. What if twenty be found there? He said: I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty. I beseech thee, saith he, be not angry, Lord, if I speak yet once more: What if ten should be found there? And he said: I will not destroy it for the sake of ten. And the Lord departed, after he had left speaking to Abraham: and Abraham returned to his place. (Genesis 16: 16-33)
And he said to him: Behold also in this, I have heard thy prayers, not to destroy the city for which thou hast spoken. Make haste and be saved there, because I cannot do any thing till thou go in thither. Therefore the name of that city was called Segor. The sun was risen upon the earth, and Lot entered into Segor. And the Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrha brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. And he destroyed these cities, and all the country about, all the inhabitants of the cities, and all things that spring from the earth.
And his wife looking behind her, was turned into a statue of salt. And Abraham got up early in the morning and in the place where he had stood before with the Lord, He looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha, and the whole land of that country: and he saw the ashes rise up from the earth as the smoke of a furnace. (Genesis 19: 21-28.)
[13] If any one lie with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination, let them be put to death: their blood be upon them. [14] If any man after marrying the daughter, marry her mother, he hath done a heinous crime: he shall be burnt alive with them: neither shall so great an abomination remain in the midst of you. [15] He that shall copulate with any beast or cattle, dying let him die, the beast also ye shall kill. (Leviticus 20: 13-15.)
And into whatsoever city or town you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till you go thence. And when you come into the house, salute it, saying: Peace be to this house. And if that house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet. Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. (Matthew 10: 11-15.)
For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error. And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy. Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. (Romans 1: 18-32.)
[9] Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, [10] Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6: 9)
[6] And the angels who kept not their principality, but forsook their own habitation, he hath reserved under darkness in everlasting chains, unto the judgment of the great day. [7] As Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighbouring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to fornication, and going after other flesh, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. [8] In like manner these men also defile the flesh, and despise dominion, and blaspheme majesty. [9] When Michael the archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he durst not bring against him the judgment of railing speech, but said: The Lord command thee. [10] But these men blaspheme whatever things they know not: and what things soever they naturally know, like dumb beasts, in these they are corrupted. (Jude 1 6-10.)
No, Bergoglio’s “new social relationships” are not very “new” after all, are they?
The counterfeit church of conciliarism indemnifies the very moral crimes that were decried by Our Lady in the Nineteenth Century when she spoke these words of instruction to the Venerable Mary of Agreda following her narrative of the Epiphany of her Divine Son to the Three Kings:
499. Consider the wicked disposition of mortals in the present age, in which the light of the Gospel has been spread out and confirmed by so many miracles wrought by God in his Church. In spite of all this there are so few who are perfect and who seek to dispose themselves for greater participation in the fruits and benefits of the Redemption. Although the number of fools is so great (Eccles. 1:15) and the vices have become so measureless, there are those who think the perfect are also numerous because men do not so openly dare to act in opposition to God; there are not as many as one thinks, and many fewer than there should be, seeing God is so much offended by the infidels and continually desires to communicate the treasures of grace in his Church according to the merits of his Onlybegotten made man. Take notice then, dearest, of the obligation imposed upon thee by thy clear knowledge of these truths. Live cautiously, and with great attention and watchfulness correspond to his graces, losing no time, occasion or circumstance for acting in the most holy and perfect manner known to thee, for thou canst not fulfill thy duty otherwise. Remember what I tell thee, command thee, and urge upon thee, to receive not such great favor in vain (II Cor. 6:1). Do not allow thy grace and light to be without profit, but make use of them in the perfection of gratitude. (New English Edition of The Mystical City of God: Volume II: The Incarnation: Book Four, Chapter XVI.)
We must be about the business of reforming our own lives and of making reparation for our own sins—as well as for those of others, including the conciliar revolutionaries, who must be numbered about the great fools alive today as their rejoice in the fact that vices of impurity, up to and including perverse sins against nature, are unopposed even by most Catholics (see a report from 2015 prior to “Pope Francis’s” American visit: U.S. Catholics Open to "Non-Traditional Families).
Our own work of reparation begins and ends as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, and it includes frequent reception of the Sacraments, if at all possible in the area where one lives, and a fervent, tender devotion to Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary.
We must not look to “politics” for the salvation of society as this is but an illusion of the adversary. We must look to the very Mother of God who was honored by the shepherds on Christmas morning and by the Three Kings—Saints Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar—at the Epiphany—and at whose behest her Divine Son performed His first public miracle.
The forces of satan at work in the counterfeit church of conciliarism and in the world-at-large will be defeated as a result of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and it is for this triumph we must pray as we attempt to plant a few seeds for the day when all men will exclaim:
Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Vivat Christus Rex!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Appendix
From The Mystical City of God on The Journey to Bethlehem
456. Most pure Mary and glorious St. Joseph departed from Nazareth for Bethlehem alone, poor and humble in the eyes of the world. None of the mortals thought more of them than what was warranted by their poverty and humility. But O the admirable sacraments of the Most High, hidden to the proud and inscrutable to carnal prudence! They did not walk alone, poor or despised, but prosperous, rich, and in magnificence. They were most worthy of the immense love of the eternal Father and most estimable in his eyes. They carried with them the Treasure of heaven and the Divinity himself; the whole court of celestial ministers venerated them; and all the inanimate beings recognized the living and true Ark of the Testament more readily than the waters of the Jordan recognized its type and shadow when they courteously laid open and free the path for its passage and for those who followed it (Josue 3:16). They were accompanied by the ten thousand Angels who as I said above (450) were appointed by God himself as the servants of Her Majesty during that whole journey. These heavenly squadrons marched along as their retinue in human forms visible to the heavenly Lady, more refulgent than so many suns. She herself walked in their midst better guarded and defended than the bed of Solomon surrounded by the sixty valiant ones of Israel girded with their swords (Cant. 3:7). Besides these ten thousand Angels there were many others who descended from heaven as envoys of the eternal Father to his Onlybegotten made man and to his most holy Mother, and from them they returned with the messages which they dispatched.
457. In the midst of this royal retinue, hidden from the gaze of men, most holy Mary and Joseph proceeded on their way, secure that their feet would not be bruised by the stone of tribulation (Ps. 90:12) because the Lord had commanded his Angels to bear them in their hands as their defense and custody. This command the most faithful ministers, as vassals of their great Queen, fulfilled with wonder and delight, seeing centered in a mere creature such great sacraments, perfections, and immense treasures of the Divinity, and seeing in Her all this distinction united to dignity and grace far exceeding their own angelic capacity. They composed new songs in honor of the Lord whom they saw reclining as the highest King of glory on his throne of gold (Cant. 3:9), and in honor of the divine Mother, who was like his living and incorruptible chariot, or the fertile ear of corn of the promised land (Lv. 23:10) enclosing the living grain, or the rich merchant ship which brings the grain to the house of bread,* that dying in the earth it can be multiplied for heaven (Jn. 12:24-5). Their journey lasted five days, for due to her pregnancy St. Joseph shortened each day’s journey. The sovereign Queen experienced no darkness of night on the way, for a few times when their travel extended beyond nightfall the holy Angels spread about such effulgence as not all the lights of heaven in their noontide splendor would have thrown forth in the clearest heavens. This light and vision of the Angels St. Joseph also enjoyed at those times. Then all of them together would form celestial choirs in which the great Lady and her spouse alternated with the supernal spirits in admirable canticles and hymns of praise, converting the fields into new heavens. During this whole journey the * Literal meaning of the word Bethlehem [Ed.] Queen was rejoiced by the sight of her resplendent ministers and vassals and by the sweet interior conversation held with them.
458. Along with these wonderful favors and delights, however, the Lord joined some hardships and inconveniences which the heavenly Mother encountered on the way, for the concourse of many people at the inns, occasioned by the imperial edict, was very painful and uncomfortable to the shyness and modesty of the most pure Virgin Mother and her spouse, since as poor and timid they were accorded less accommodation than others, and experienced more inconvenience than the rich, for the world judges and usually confers its favors according to outward appearance* and personal influence.† Our holy pilgrims were obliged repeatedly to listen to sharp reprimands at the inns at which they arrived tired out by their journey, and in some of them they were refused admittance as worthless and despicable people. Several times they assigned to the Mistress of heaven and earth some corner of the hallway, while at other times She did not even fare so well, being obliged to retire with her husband to places still more humble and unbecoming in the estimation of the world. But in whatever places She tarried, however contemptible it might be considered, the courtiers of heaven established their court around their supreme King and sovereign Queen. Immediately they surrounded and enclosed them like an impenetrable wall, securing the bridal chamber of Solomon against the terrors of the night (Cant. 3:8). Her most faithful spouse Joseph, seeing the Lady of heaven so well guarded by the angelic hosts, rested and slept, for to this She urged him because of the hardships of travel, while She remained in celestial colloquies with the ten thousand Angels who assisted Her.
459. Although Solomon in the Canticles describes in diverse metaphors and similitudes many great mysteries of the Queen of heaven, yet in chapter III he refers more particularly to what happened to the heavenly Mother in her pregnancy and during this journey. During this time was fulfilled to the letter all that is said of the couch of Solomon (Cant. 3:7), his chariot and couch of gold, the guard of the most valiant ones of Israel who were stationed around it enjoying the divine vision, and also all the other sayings which are contained in those prophecies. What I have pointed out shall suffice to make them understood, and they should excite our admiration of the wonderful sacraments of the activity of God for the good of man. Who is there among mortals whose heart is not softened? Or who is so proud as not to be abashed? Or so careless as not to be filled with wonder at such miraculous extremes? The infinite and true God hidden and concealed in the virginal womb of a tender Maiden full of grace and beauty, innocent, pure, sweet, pleasing and amiable in the eyes of God and men, surpassing all the Lord God has ever or shall ever create! To see this great Lady, bearing the treasure of the Divinity, despised, persecuted, neglected, and cast out by the blind ignorance and pride of the world! And on the other hand, while She is thus pushed aside into the last places, to see Her loved and esteemed by the triune God, regaled by his caresses, served by his Angels, revered, defended and assisted in his great and vigilant custody! O children of men, slow and hard of heart (Ps. 4:3)! How deceitful are your ways (Ps. 61:10) and how erroneous is your judgment in esteeming the rich and despising the poor (James 2:2ff.), exalting the proud and humiliating the lowly, applauding the conceited and casting out the just! Blind is your choice and full of error your judgment, and you shall find yourselves frustrated in all your desires. Ambitiously you seek riches and treasures, and you find yourselves in poverty beating the air. If you had received the true Ark of God you would have * cf. Jn. 7:24 [Ed.] † cf. Lv. 19:15; Acts 10:34 [Ed.] been blessed by the hand of the Almighty like Obededom (II Kg. 6:11), but because you have treated Her unworthily many of you have experienced the punishment of Oza (Ib. 7).
460. During this journey the heavenly Lady observed and knew the various conditions of all the souls who came and went, and penetrated into their most secret thoughts and the state of each, in grace or in sin, and the degrees which in these different extremes they possessed. Concerning many souls She also knew whether they were predestined or reprobate, whether they would persevere, fall, or again rise up. All this variety of insight moved Her to the exercise of heroic virtues in regard to the ones as well as the others. For many of them She obtained the grace of perseverance; for others efficacious help to rise from their sin to grace; for others again She prayed to the Lord with affectionate tears, feeling most intense sorrow for the reprobate, though She did not pray as efficaciously for them. Many times, worn out by these sorrows, much more than by the hardships of travel, the strength of her body gave way. On such occasions the holy Angels, full of refulgent light and beauty, bore Her up in their arms so She could rest and recuperate. The sick, afflicted and indigent whom She met on the way She consoled and assisted by asking her most holy Son to come to their aid in their necessities and adversities, because on this journey, due to the multitude and concourse of people, She kept to Herself without speaking, carefully attending to her divine pregnancy which was already evident to all; this was the return which the Mother of Mercy made to mortals for the inhospitality She received from them.
461. For the greater reproach of human ingratitude it happened also that once during these wintry days they reached a stopping place in the midst of a cold rain and snow storm (for the Lord did not spare them this inconvenience), and they were obliged to take shelter in the stables of the animals because the owners would not furnish better accommodation. The irrational beasts showed them the courtesy and kindness which was refused by human creatures, for they retreated in reverence at the entrance of their Maker and his Mother who carried Him in her virginal womb. It is true the Queen of creation could command the winds, the frost and the snow not to inconvenience Her, but She would not give such a command in order not to deprive Herself of suffering in imitation of her most holy Son even before He came forth into the world. Therefore the inclemencies of the weather affected Her to a certain extent; however, her most solicitous and faithful spouse St. Joseph did his utmost to shield Her, and still more did the holy Angels seek to protect Her, especially the prince St. Michael who remained at the right side of his Queen without leaving Her even for a moment. Several times when She became tired he led Her by the arm along the way; whenever the Lord permitted he also shielded Her against the weather and performed many other services for the heavenly Queen and the blessed fruit of her womb, Jesus.
462. Thus variously and wonderfully assisted our travelers, Mary most holy and St. Joseph, arrived at the town of Bethlehem at four o’clock on the fifth day, a Saturday. Since it was the time of the winter solstice the sun was already sinking and night was falling. They entered the town and wandered through many streets in search of a lodging house or inn for staying overnight. They knocked at the doors of their acquaintances and nearer family relations, yet they were admitted nowhere, and in many places they met with harsh words and insults. The most modest Queen followed her spouse through the crowds of people while he went from house to house and from door to door. Although She knew the hearts and houses of men were to be closed to them, and though to expose her state at her age to the public gaze was more painful to her modesty than their failure to procure a night lodging, She nevertheless desired to obey St. Joseph and suffer this indignity and unmerited shame. While wandering through the streets they passed the office of the public registry and inscribed their names and paid the fiscal tribute in order to comply with the edict and not be obliged to return. They continued their search among other houses, but having already applied at more than fifty different places they found themselves rejected and sent away from them all. The heavenly spirits were filled with astonishment at these exalted mysteries of the Most High, which manifested the patience and meekness of his Virgin Mother and the unfeeling hardness of men; yet at the same time they blessed the Almighty in his works and hidden sacraments, because from that day He desired to accredit and raise to such glory the humility and poverty despised by men.
463. It was nine o’clock at night when the most faithful Joseph, full of bitter and heartrending sorrow, returned to his most prudent Spouse and said: “My sweetest Lady, my heart is broken with sorrow at the thought of not only not being able to shelter Thee as Thou dost deserve and as I desire, but in not even being able to offer Thee any kind of protection from the weather or a place of rest, something rarely or never denied to the most poor and despised in the world. Without doubt there is a mystery in this permission of heaven in not moving the hearts of men to receive us into their homes. I now remember, Lady, that outside the city walls there is a cave which serves as a shelter for shepherds and their flocks. Let us seek it out; perhaps it is unoccupied, and we may there expect some assistance from heaven, since we receive none from men on earth.” The most prudent Virgin answered: “My spouse and my master, let not thy most kind heart be afflicted because the ardent desires which the love of thy Lord excite in thee cannot be fulfilled. Since I bear Him in my womb let us, I beseech thee, render Him gratitude for having disposed events in this way. The place of which thou speakest shall be most satisfactory to me. Let thy tears of sorrow be turned into tears of joy, and let us lovingly embrace poverty, which is the inestimable and precious treasure of my most holy Son. He came from heaven in order to seek it; let us then give Him an occasion to practice it in the joy of our souls. Certainly I cannot be better delighted than to see thee procure it for me. Let us go gladly wherever the Lord shall guide us.” The holy Angels accompanied the heavenly pair, brilliantly lighting up the way, and when they arrived at the city gate they saw the cave was forsaken and unoccupied. Full of heavenly consolation they thanked the Lord for this favor, and then happened what I shall relate in the following chapter.
