Let the histrionics begin.

For the young and for those who have forgotten, it is important, at least as far as I see it, to serve as a “memory bank” to remind those who read these articles that the quadrennial madness of Judeo-Masonic naturalism called elections seems to short-circuit the collective memories of even those Catholics who pay more than a minimal amount of attention to current events.

Yes, it is the case that every four years we hear that this or that Democratic Party presidential nominee is the most “pro-abortion candidate ever” even though every Democratic Party nominee since 1984 has been openly pro-death. A bit of history is in order here.

United States Senator George McGovern, the Democratic Party presidential nominee in 1972 was not completely pro-death at the time he lost forty-nine states to then President Richard Milhous Nixon on Tuesday, November 7, 1972, although he became so after Roe v. Wade two months later.

James Earl Carter, Jr., who might have been “personally” pro-life” sublimated his own personal beliefs to accommodate the following Democratic Party platforms in 1976 and 1980, which was the first year that the Democratic Party’s national nominating convention took an overt stand in favor of baby slaugher:

We fully recognize the religious and ethical nature of the concerns which many Americans have on the subject of abortion. We feel, however, that it is undesirable to attempt to amend the U.S. Constitution to overturn the Supreme Court decision in this area. (1976 Democratic Party Platform.)

Reproductive Rights—We fully recognize the religious and ethical concerns which many Americans have about abortion. We also recognize the belief of many Americans that a woman has a right to choose whether and when to have a child.

The Democratic Party supports the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion rights as the law of the land and opposes any constitutional amendment to restrict or overturn that decision. (1980 Democratic Party Platform.)

By 1984, however, former Vice President Walter Frederick Mondale, who was a protégé of the late former Vice President and Senator Hubert Horatio Humphrey, had chosen the first woman to be a vice-presidential running mate of a major political party presidential nominee, and that woman was the infamous pro-abortion Catholic named United States Representative Geraldine Anne Ferraro Zaccaro (D-Forest Hills, Queens, New York). The Democratic Party platform thus used the phrase “reproductive freedom” instead of abortion to start the business of “sanitizing” its support for baby butchery:

There can be little doubt that a Supreme Court chosen by Ronald Reagan would radically restrict constitutional rights and drastically reinterpret existing laws. Today, the fundamental right of a woman to reproductive freedom rests on the votes of six members of the Supreme Court—five of whom are over 75. That right could easily disappear during a second Reagan term. (1984 Democratic Party Platform.)

It was in 1988, the year that then Governor Michael “M-1” Dukakis (D-Massachusetts) and United States Senator Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas)  headlined the Democratic Party ticket, that the Democratic Party platform first used the phrase “sexual orientation” in a section that also reiterated its support for “reproductive freedom of choice” with respect to baby-killing as well as its support for a panoply of policies and programs that were later implemented by the likes of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and then, after January 20, 2021, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr.:

WE BELIEVE that we honor our multicultural heritage by assuring equal access to government services, employment, housing, business enterprise and education to every citizen regardless of race, sex, national origin, religion, age, handicapping condition or sexual orientation; that these rights are without exception too precious to be jeopardized by Federal Judges and Justice Department officials chosen during the past years—by a political party increasingly monolithic both racially and culturally—more for their unenlightened ideological views than for their respect for the rule of law. We further believe that we must work for the adoption of the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution; that the fundamental right of reproductive choice should be guaranteed regardless of ability to pay; that our machinery for civil rights enforcement and legal services to the poor should be rebuilt and vigorously utilized; and that our immigration policy should be reformed to promote fairness, non-discrimination and family reunification and to reflect our constitutional freedoms of speech, association and travel. We further believe that the voting rights of all minorities should be protected, the recent surge in hate violence and negative stereotyping combatted, the discriminatory English-only pressure groups resisted, our treaty commitments with Native Americans enforced by culturally sensitive officials, and the lingering effects of past discrimination eliminated by affirmative action, including goals, timetables, and procurement set-asides. It was not until 1992, though, that the Democratic Party’s institutional support for baby-killing received enough electoral support to make its pro-death nominees, Arkansas Governor William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and United States Senator Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (D-Tennessee), president and vice-president after running on the following pro-death platform:

All Americans should have universal access to quality, affordable health care—not as a privilege, but as a right. That requires tough controls on health costs, which are rising at two to three times the rate of inflation, terrorizing American families and businesses and depriving millions of the care they need. We will enact a uniquely American reform of the health care system to control costs and make health care affordable; ensure quality and choice of health care providers; cover all Americans regardless of preexisting conditions; squeeze out waste, bureaucracy and abuse; improve primary and preventive care including child immunization and prevention of diseases like Tuberculosis now becoming rampant in our cities; provide expanded education on the relationship between diet and health; expand access to mental health treatment services; provide a safety net through support of public hospitals; provide for the full range of reproductive choice—education, counseling, access to contraceptives, and the right to a safe, legal abortion; expand medical research; and provide more long term care, including home health care. We will make ending the epidemic in breast cancer a major priority, and expand research on breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, infertility, reproductive health services and other special health needs of women. We must be united in declaring war on AIDS and HIV disease, implement the recommendations of the National Commission on AIDS and fully fund the Ryan White Care Act; provide targeted and honest prevention campaigns; combat HIV-related discrimination; make drug treatment available for all addicts who seek it; guarantee access to quality care; expand clinical trials for treatments and vaccines; and speed up the FDA drug approval process. President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton was without question the singularly most pro-abortion president in the history of the United States of America. He holds that title in my estimation as, despite all the evil done by Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., Slick Willie was the first man to have a completely pro-abortion Cabinet and to staff the Federal judiciary with one pro-abort after another, including nominating both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer to serve as associate justices of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

The advent of the presidential administration of former Arkansas Governor William Jefferson Blythe Clinton on January 10, 1993, provided the pro-baby killing industry many opportunities to advance their wretched agenda. Clinton himself took a pen on January 22, 1993 and erased most of the executive orders/directives that had been issued in the previous twelve years by Presidents Ronald Wilson Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush. One of the fundamental flaws of a constitutional system that admits of no higher authority than the text of the words than its own documents and which depends upon the prevailing winds of “popular sovereignty” and/or judicial positivism winds up making fundamental matters of moral truth that humans have no authority to change and debate subject to endless change and debate, thus making any perceived accomplishment in one administration ephemeral and easily reversible by the next. Clinton thus used his powers to the fullest, going so far as to veto the partial ban on crushed skull abortions (“partial birth abortion) three times as he knew that Congressional Republicans neither had the votes nor the desire to override his vetoes.

Clinton, however, played no political games when it came to baby-killing, which is why he sought to replace the retiring Associate Justice Byron White, who was one of the two dissenters in Roe v. Wade, with a man who was completely committed to baby-killing as a constitutional “right” and who was capable of using one legally sophistic argument after another in its support during a confirmation hearing and the high court itself, namely, Mario Matthew Cuomo. Byron White’s seat on the Supreme Court of the United States of America was his for the taking, something that I wrote about on at least two occasions at the time in The Wanderer in March and April of 1993.

it is important to remember once again that some of the very first things that William Jefferson Blythe Clinton did as President of the United States of America on January 22, 1993, was to sign Executive Orders permitting the testing of RU-486, the human pesticide, which Federal testing prompted, according to a report in The New York Times in the summer of 1995, some women to get pregnant deliberately in order to kill their babies with the French abortion pill, and permitting the Federal funding of embryonic stem-cell research, something that was supported at the time by Robert Joseph Dole, Jr., who would run against Clinton in 1996, and by one John Sidney McCain III.

It was President Bill Clinton who signed the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Bill into law, and who authorized then Attorney General Janet "See No Chinagate Evil" Reno to use a special Federal Bureau of Investigation "task force" to intimidate a woman in Toledo, Ohio, in 1995 into never writing again to a baby-killing to whom she had written a letter stating that she, the letter-writer, was praying for her conversion. Oh please, they don't come more pro-abortion--or more fascistically pro-abortion--than Bill and Hillary Clinton (see FBI's VAAPCON Spies on Pro-Lifers for more information about the Clinton-Reno war against pro-lifers).

President Bill Clinton also lied repeatedly about the number of babies killed by means of crushed skull abortion (partial-birth abortion), stating in 1995 when he vetoed, for the first time, the conditional, partial ban on this form of killing innocent babies that "only" around 1,500 babies a year were killed by this method. The Record of Hackensack, New Jersey, to its credit, reported at the time that an abortuary in northern New Jersey killed at least that number every year by means of the procedure known medically as "intact dilation and extraction."

William Jefferson Blythe Clinton's Cabinet included pro-abortion Catholics such as the aforementioned Attorney General Janet Reno and Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala and each of his two Secretaries of Housing and Urban Development, former Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Henry Cisneros and the future Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Mark Cuomo, and Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson, who served as the Governor of New Mexico from January 1, 2003, to January 1, 2011. The pro-abortion Catholic from Carmel Valley, California, Leon Panetta, served as Clinton’s Director of the Office of Management and the Budget from January 21, 1993, to July 17, 1994, the date on which he became White House Chief of Staff, a position he held until the end of Clinton’s first term on January 20, 1997. Panetta, by the way, just happened to have served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and as Secretary of Defense in the administration of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and was praised upon his retirement in 2013 by a “pope” who did not believe that support for baby-killing was a disqualification for the holding of public office, Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI.

Furthermore, of course, each of William Jefferson Blythe Clinton's two Secretaries of State, the dour Warren Christopher and the feminist Madeline Albright, used the State Department as a vehicle to promote "international family planning," including efforts to convince formerly Catholic nations in Latin America that did not permit surgical baby-killing on demand in most instance to "change" their laws to reflect a "respect" for "women's reproductive freedom rights."

Please spare me the histrionics about Kamala Harris being the most pro-abortion presidential candidate in American history. She is fourth in line now after Clinton, Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr.

As I have noted so repeatedly on this website, no one who supports a single, solitary abortion under as a civil right is qualified to hold any position of public trust, whether appointed or elected, anywhere in the world. It is that simple. Those who support sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance are enemies of their own souls and enemies of the common temporal good, which must be pursued in light of man’s Last End, namely, the possession of the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heaven.

Put aside everything else (her support for Black Lives Matter, illegal immigration, the full panoply of the sodomite agenda, vaccines, lockdowns, mask mandates, globalism, climate change wackoism, censorship in the name of combatting “disinformation,” etc.) and remember that Kamala Harris is a pro-abort who is fully beholden to Planned Barrenhood, in whose behalf she persecuted David Daleiden for exposing Planned Barrenhood’s illegal trafficking of the bodily organs of aborted babies:

The U.S. Department of Justice announced plans to investigate the group that produced undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood employees admitting that they harvest and sell organs ripped from the bodies aborted babies. Politico reported the news of the coming DOJ investigation earlier today:

JUSTICE TO PROBE CENTER FOR MEDICAL PROGRESS — While congressional committees investigate Planned Parenthood’s practices, the Justice Department agreed to look into whether the group that released the sting videos obtained the footage legally. In response to a request by House Democrats, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday afternoon that Justice would “review all of the information and determine what the appropriate steps moving forward would be.” Planned Parenthood has staunchly defended its practices and claims that the Center for Medical Progress illegally obtained its footage, then excessively edited it to misrepresent what the organization does.

The DOJ investigation of the Center for Medical Progress, which, unlike Planned Parenthood, is not in the business of killing healthy, viable unborn babies in order to sell their organs for cash, was announced after several Democratic lawmakers called for the organization to be targeted:

Four Democrats in Congress — Reps. Jan Schakowsky, Zoe Lofgren, Jerry Nadler, and Yvette Clarke — have written to Attorney General Loretta Lynch and California Attorney General Kamala Harris, asking them to open investigations into the Center for Medical Progress. The Democrats say the videos were filmed as part of an “elaborate scheme” — using “fake identification” and without the approval of the Planned Parenthood doctor who appears in them.

It’s interesting that Lynch decided so early to make a statement about the group. There are certainly more videos to come, and if Planned Parenthood’s panicked press releases are any indication, the footage may be far more damaging than anything that’s been revealed thus far. However, given the abject politicization of multiple agencies under Obama’s command — including the Internal Revenue Service, which targeted conservative non-profits, and the DOJ, which has been hesitant to investigate Obama allies — it seems unlikely that Lynch and those who report to her will ever crack down on Abortion, Inc. (Obama DOJ To Investigate Group That Busted Planned.)

LOS ANGELES –  A temporary restraining order has been issued preventing an anti-abortion group from releasing any video of leaders of a California company that provides fetal tissue to researchers. The group is the same one that previously shot viral covert video of a Planned Parenthood leader discussing the sale of aborted fetuses for research.

The Los Angeles Superior Court order issued Tuesday prohibits the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any video of three high-ranking StemExpress officials taken at a restaurant in May. It appears to be the first legal action prohibiting the release of a video from the organization.

The Center for Medical Progress has released three surreptitiously recorded videos to date that have riled anti-abortion activists. The Senate is expected to vote before its August recess on a Republican effort to bar federal aid to Planned Parenthood in the aftermath of the videos' release.

In a statement Wednesday, center leader David Daleiden said StemExpress was using "meritless litigation" to cover up an "illegal baby parts trade."

"The Center for Medical Progress follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative journalism work," he said.

StemExpress is a Placerville-based company started in 2010 that provides human tissue, blood and other specimens to researchers. Planned Parenthood is one of the company's providers of fetal tissue.

A company spokesman said StemExpress is "grateful its rights have been vindicated in a court of law."

In the first video released by the Center for Medical Progress, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood's senior director of medical services, describes techniques for obtaining fetal body parts for researchers to activists posing as potential buyers from a human biologics company over lunch. When asked about partnering with Planned Parenthood directly rather than through its affiliates, Nucatola mentioned StemExpress as one company that had approached them.

In another previously released video, a woman identified as a former StemExpress phlebotomist describes drawing blood and dissecting dead fetuses.

"I thought I was going to be just drawing blood, not procuring tissue from aborted fetuses," the employee, Holly O'Donnell, said.

Planned Parenthood's affiliates in fewer than five states provide fetal tissue for researchers, according to the organization. The Center for Medical Progress accuses the group of illegally making a profit from that.

Planned Parenthood has said it only receives reimbursements for costs of providing tissue donated by women and that it has done nothing wrong.

In other words, Planned Barrenhood can do no wrong. Its officials can never break the civil law as they go about their daily business of breaking God's law with complete legal impunity and with the support of almost every public official of the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” and with the support of many within the organized crime family of false opposite of the naturalist “right.”

Kamala Harris used her position as the Attorney General of the People’s Republic of California to influence then United States Minister of Injustice Loretta Lynch into using the full brunt of Federal power, no matter how illicitly exercised, to “kill” messengers such as David Daleiden who were simply seeking to bring to the public's attention the bloody business that defines Planned Barrenhood, which has been drinking from the public trough ever since the horrific statist, Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was determined to out-statist mentor, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, had his rubber-stamp Congress enact funding for “family planning” programs in 1967 as part of his “Great Society” putsch. Title X funding begun of such programs began in 1970 with the full support of President Richard Milhous Nixon (see Poster Boy of Modernity, which was written ten years ago on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Nixon’s resignation from the presidency on August 9, 1974).

It was as the junior senator from the People’s Republic of California that Kamala Harris also demonstrated her absolute anti-Catholic bona fides as she demonstrated that anyone who is even suspected of being a faithful, believing Catholic must be subject to the sort of demagoguery of the sort that characterized the overt anti-Catholic bigotry expressed in public life during the Nineteenth Century and much of the Twentieth Century:

Washington D.C., Dec 21, 2018 / 02:00 pm (CNA).- A judicial nominee faced questions from Senators this month about whether membership in the Knights of Columbus might impede his ability to judge federal cases fairly. The Knights of Columbus say that no candidate for public office should have to defend his membership in a Catholic service organization.

Senators Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) raised concerns about membership in the Knights of Columbus while the Senate Judiciary Committee reviewed the candidacy of Brian C. Buescher, an Omaha-based lawyer nominated by President Trump to sit on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska.

Senators also asked whether belonging to the Catholic charitable organization could prevent judges from hearing cases “fairly and impartially.”

In written questions sent to Buescher by committee members Dec. 5, Sen. Hirono stated that “the Knights of Columbus has taken a number of extreme positions. For example, it was reportedly one of the top contributors to California’s Proposition 8 campaign to ban same-sex marriage.”

Hirono then asked Buescher if he would quit the group if he was confirmed “to avoid any appearance of bias.”

“The Knights of Columbus does not have the authority to take personal political positions on behalf of all of its approximately two million members,” Buescher responded.

“If confirmed, I will apply all provisions of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges regarding recusal and disqualification,” he said.

Kathleen Blomquist, spokesperson for the Knights of Columbus, told CNA that the senators’ questions echoed the kind of anti-Catholicism seen in previous generations of American history.

“Our country’s sad history of anti-Catholic bigotry contributed to the founding of the Knights of Columbus, and we are proud of the many Catholics who overcame this hurdle to contribute so greatly to our country,” Blomquist told CNA

“We were extremely disappointed to see that one’s commitment to Catholic principles through membership in the Knights of Columbus—a charitable organization that adheres to and promotes Catholic teachings—would be viewed as a disqualifier from public service in this day and age.”

President Trump nominated Buescher to serve on the U.S. District Court on Nov. 3. The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on Buescher’s nomination Nov. 28, sending written questions to him on Dec. 5. 

The Knights of Columbus is active in 17 countries worldwide. In 2017, members carried out more than 75 million hours of volunteer work and raised more than $185 million for charitable purposes. Successive popes, including Pope Francis, have praisied the group for their charitable work and the manner in which they articulate Catholic faith and values.

In her questions to the nominee, Sen. Harris described the Knights as “an all-male society” and asked if Buescher was aware that the Knights of Columbus “opposed a woman’s right to choose” and were against “marriage equality” when he joined.

Responding to the senator’s questions, Buescher confirmed that he has been a member of the Knights since he was 18 years old, noting that his membership “has involved participation in charitable and community events in local Catholic parishes.”

“I do not recall if I was aware whether the Knights of Columbus had taken a position on the abortion issue when I joined at the age of 18,” he wrote in response.

Harris raised a statement from Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson, who said that abortion constituted “the killing of the innocent on a massive scale” and asked Buescher if he agreed with Anderson.

Buescher said he was not responsible for drafting statements or policies made by the Knights and that, as a federal judge, he would consider himself bound by judicial precedent regarding abortion.

“I did not draft this language. If confirmed, I would be bound by precedent of the United States Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and would not be guided by statements made by others,” Buescher told the senator.

Blomquist told CNA that asking a judicial nominee to defend his membership of a major Catholic charitable organization is disturbing.

“We believe that membership in the Knights of Columbus, which helps everyday men put their Catholic faith into action, is worthy of commendation and not something a nominee for public office should be asked to defend," she said.

In 2014, Buescher ran as a candidate in the Republican primary election for Nebraska attorney general. During that campaign he described himself as “avidly pro-life” and said that opposition to abortion was part of his “moral fabric.” 

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) noted the nominee’s previously outspoken opposition to abortion and asked “why should a litigant in your courtroom expect to get a fair hearing from an impartial judge in a case involving abortion rights?”

Buescher responded that “as a candidate for Nebraska Attorney General in 2014, I did what candidates for any major state or federal office do, which is to take political positions on a variety of issues of the day.” 

“However, there is a difference between taking political positions as a candidate for elective office and serving as a federal judge. I believe a judge’s role and obligation is to apply the law without regard to any personal beliefs regarding the law,” Buescher wrote.

“If confirmed, I will faithfully apply all United States Supreme Court and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals precedent on all issues, including Roe v. Wade."

Buescher also fielded questions from senators about Trump administration policy on Title X funding for clinics providing abortions and referrals, as well as on the application of anti-discrimination law to questions related to gender identity or sexual orientation.

The nominee underscored that, as a judge, it was not for him to advance personal or political opinions but to make fair and impartial rulings based on the law and judicial precedent. 

If confirmed by the Senate, Buescher will fill the vacancy left by Judge Laurie Smith Camp, who assumed senior status - a kind of judicial semi-retirement - on Dec. 1. (Hirono and Harris Quiz Judicial Nominee Over Knights of Columbus Membership.)

This is what I wrote five years, seven months about the anti-Catholic bigotry of Mazie Hirono and Kamala Harris:  

However, it is important in the first place to point out yet again that United States Senators Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) and Kamala Harris (D-People’s Republic of California) are the personification of anti-Catholic bigotry and intolerance. They and their ilk deny the existence of immutable truths that have been revealed definitively by God and/or exist in the nature of things that He created. Yet it is that they believe in the immutable “truth” that fallen men, who are but contingent beings with bodies that are destined one day for the corruption of the grave, have the authority to “decide” matters of moral truth from which no one can dissent legitimately lest he be termed a “bigot” or an “extremist” or “hateful.” In other words, Mazie Hirono and Kamala Harris believe that they have the right to dismiss any person, including nominees to serve on the Federal bench, who would dare to question the supposed “infallibility” of today’s quite fallible arbiters of what constitutes “acceptable” norms of law and human behavior.

First, quite to the contrary of what Haters Hirono and Harris contend, the Knights of Columbus, although organizationally opposed to the daily slaughter of the innocent preborn in America’s killing mills, has forbidden local councils from expelling its pro-abortion and/or pro-sodomite members:

The leadership of the Knights of Columbus (K of C) has forbidden local councils to take any action against members of the Catholic fraternal organization who support legalized abortion or same-sex marriage.

A Massachusetts K of C member had proposed a resolution, to be taken up by the group's state convention, calling for the suspension of membership of any politician who gave public support to abortion and same-sex marriage. That resolution was declared inappropriate by the Supreme Advocate of the K of C, John Marrella.

In a letter to the Massachusetts K of C leadership, Marrella declared that "a subordinate council may not impose fraternal discipline with respect to a public figure's official actions on matters pertaining to faith and morals. Rather, any such discipline must be made by or at the direction of the Supreme Board of Directors."

"We recognize that some of our members who are public figures may use their public position to advocate or support policy positions that are contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals," Marrella conceded in his letter. He went on to admit that such public advocacy "contradicts the Catholic identity and mission of the Order."

Nevertheless, the top legal official of the K of C said that any action taken against K of C members who are public figures would "necessarily affect the entire Order." For that reason, he said, any disciplinary action should be taken by the group's top leadership.

Marrella went on to say that the K of C would not go further than the American bishops in taking public action against members whose public stands conflict with Church moral teachings. "If the public figure's bishop has not excommunicated him for his public positions on issues relating to matters of faith and morals, it would be highly inappropriate for the Knights of Columbus to do so," he wrote.

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, which had supported the proposed resolution at the state convention, decried the intervention by the top K of C office as an "abdication of responsibility." C.J. Doyle, the executive director of the Catholic Action League, said: "This letter effectively kills any grassroots initiative within the Knights to address the scandal of pro-abortion pols in the Order."

The Catholic Action League charged that the K of C's refusal to take action against pro-abortion members would allow the continuation of a public scandal. "In the 37 years since Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Board of Directors has never, to public knowledge, removed a single pro-abortion political figure from the Knights of Columbus," Doyle noted. "In Massachusetts, a majority of Knights serving in the Legislature voted in 2007 against a constitutional amendment restoring traditional marriage, and voted in 2005 for a law which compels Catholic hospitals to distribute the so-called morning-after pill to rape victims." Haters Hirono and Harris are simply ignorant, bigoted demagogues who are playing to the legions of “freethinking” Catholic apostates produced by the ethos, schools, universities and professional schools under the control of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and to the rising number of atheists and pagans in the country who use liberty as a cloak to cover the malice of their unbelief and hedonistic practices.

This is all you need to know about Kamala Harris, who is, I believe, going to defeat former President Donald John Trump on November 5, 2024, by about the same margin that Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro defeated John Sidney McCain III on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. She is a better demagogue than Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., is, and she has the advantage of being a woman who is of a black and Asian mixed ancestry. Many stupid people will be as convinced to vote for her on that basis alone as many stupid people voted for Obama/Soetoro sixteen years ago for the same kind of “groundbreaking” reasons, and her path to election will become very secure if she chooses the popular pro-abortion Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Joshua Shapiro, to be her vice presidential running mate, thus making Pennsylvania almost unwinnable for Trump.

A secular conservative commentator named Charles C. W. Cooke explained matters thusly:

A prominent conservative writer warned Republicans that Vice President Kamala Harris could win the presidency despite being a "tragically flawed candidate." 

"She’s a tragically flawed candidate, but so is Trump, who doesn’t have the media cheering for him from here to November," National Review's Charles C. W. Cooke wrote in a column published Thursday titled "Kamala Harris could actually win."

Harris has succeeded her boss, President Biden, as the presumptive Democratic Party nominee after Biden withdrew under pressure from the race and endorsed her on Sunday. She has rapidly consolidated support and endorsements, and also brought in huge fundraising hauls, to effectively clinch the nomination ahead of next month's Democratic convention.

Cooke argued that "small shifts in sentiment" brought on by positive press coverage for Harris can "quickly add up" in a divided country.

"If the question in play here were solely, ‘Is Kamala Harris a good candidate?’ my answer would be an emphatic, unalloyed ‘No[,]’" the columnist said.

"But that’s not the sole question — or even the material question," Cooke continued. "The material question is whether Kamala Harris and her as-yet-unappointed VP aspirant can win an election against Donald Trump and JD Vance. And I absolutely, unquestionably, categorically think that she can." 

"The Biden-Harris administration is by no means loved," he wrote. "Joe Biden is the most unpopular president in modern history, Kamala Harris is the most unpopular vice president since polling began, and, in the minds of the average voter, the years that those two have been in charge of the executive branch have been stained with inflation, waste, incompetence, a tornado of illegal immigration, a series of crises abroad, and, most recently, a dastardly conspiracy to cover up the president’s senility." 

Despite the unpopularity of the Biden administration, Cooke also said that voters "still do not like" the leading Republican ticket, Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

"Donald Trump is unpopular," Cooke wrote. "JD Vance is unpopular. In every Senate contest other than West Virginia and (perhaps) Montana, the Democrat is running away with the race. Insofar as the GOP has a good shot at the presidency this year, it is because much of the electorate dislikes the incumbents marginally more than it dislikes the GOP. That, though, could change."

"If, as it ought, the Republican Party wishes to prove me wrong in my suspicion, it’s going to have to escape from its post-convention jubilation — and work like hell," Cooke wrote.

This is a good analysis on the purely natural level as the electorate has changed in recent decades thanks to death of the aged and the subsequent demographic changes caused by abortin, contraception, sterilization, illegal immigration and the steady drumbeat of statist, globalist, environmentalist, evolutionist, socialist and Communist messaging in American centers of public indoctrination and the idiot box to which so many Catholics are still glued. Such a dangerous, bigoted ideologue can be dismissed only at the peril of underestimating her and her appeal to those who are looking for salvation—secular salvation—in places where it can never be found as there is simply no such thing as “secular salvation.” This is a little something about which I spoke even during my thirty years as a college professor of political science, and it is a theme that has been discussed many times on this site.

Socialism is evil, and it is a very telling commentary about the state of the United States of America that a vapid and verbally challenged bigot such as Kamala Harris has revived the flagging chances of the Democratic Party with a little less than one hundred days to go before November 5, 2024.

Readers should understand that one of the great hazards of so many people in traditional Catholic circles is to universalize from the particular. That is, many Catholics are prone to thinking that some kind of secular “restoration” was at hand because Donald John Trump got elected on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, but this was illusory as the former president won the presidency by winning the states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan by relatively slender pluralities, thus securing their aggregate of thirty-six electoral votes. Anything can happen in an election, and even the Trump himself was surprised that he had won as he had told Melania Trump on the evening of November 8, 2016, that it was going to be a “disaster” (see Honey, this is going to be a disaster").

Keeping Ourselves Focused on the Holy Faith

None of this, however, should cause us the least bit of agitation or despair.

It is thus very late. We are clearly in the era of the Great Apostasy. Anyone who thinks that something short of Catholicism can retard any of the evils we are facing at present, including the statist monstrosity known as ObamaCare, is simply deluding himself as not one of the naturalist commentators who believe that they can do so understands these words of Pope Leo XIII, contained in in Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890, and in Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, that those who search for merely "natural' solutions to the problems of man search in vain:

The Church, it is certain, at no time and in no particular is deserted by God; hence, there is no reason why she should be alarmed at the wickedness of men; but in the case of nations falling away from Christian virtue there is not a like ground of assurance, "for sin maketh nations miserable." If every bygone age has experienced the force of this truth, wherefore should not our own? There are, in truth, very many signs which proclaim that just punishments are already menacing, and the condition of modern States tends to confirm this belief, since we perceive many of them in sad plight from intestine disorders, and not one entirely exempt. But, should those leagued together in wickedness hurry onward in the road they have boldly chosen, should they increase in influence and power in proportion as they make headway in their evil purposes and crafty schemes, there will be ground to fear lest the very foundations nature has laid for States to rest upon be utterly destroyed. Nor can such misgivings be removed by any mere human effort, especially as a vast number of men, having rejected the Christian faith, are on that account justly incurring the penalty of their pride, since blinded by their passions they search in vain for truth, laying hold on the false for the true, and thinking themselves wise when they call "evil good, and good evil," and "put darkness in the place of light, and light in the place of darkness." It is therefore necessary that God come to the rescue, and that, mindful of His mercy, He turn an eye of compassion on human society.  (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)

We do not organize nations around the false principles of naturalism.

We do not restore “order” in nations by the false principles of naturalism.

We do no make any nation "great," whether for the first time or "again," if its people are steeped in unrepented sins and are distracted constantly by a variety of bread and circuses.

We must remember that public life must be stained with crime when men and their nations do not submit themselves to the Social Reign of Christ the King and His Holy Catholic Church in all that pertains to the good of souls, something that Pope Leo XIII noted in Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900:

God alone is Life. All other beings partake of life, but are not life. Christ, from all eternity and by His very nature, is "the Life," just as He is the Truth, because He is God of God. From Him, as from its most sacred source, all life pervades and ever will pervade creation. Whatever is, is by Him; whatever lives, lives by Him. For by the Word "all things were made; and without Him was made nothing that was made." This is true of the natural life; but, as We have sufficiently indicated above, we have a much higher and better life, won for us by Christ's mercy, that is to say, "the life of grace," whose happy consummation is "the life of glory," to which all our thoughts and actions ought to be directed. The whole object of Christian doctrine and morality is that "we being dead to sin, should live to justice" (I Peter ii., 24)-that is, to virtue and holiness. In this consists the moral life, with the certain hope of a happy eternity. This justice, in order to be advantageous to salvation, is nourished by Christian faith. "The just man liveth by faith" (Galatians iii., II). "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews xi., 6). Consequently Jesus Christ, the creator and preserver of faith, also preserves and nourishes our moral life. This He does chiefly by the ministry of His Church. To Her, in His wise and merciful counsel, He has entrusted certain agencies which engender the supernatural life, protect it, and revive it if it should fail. This generative and conservative power of the virtues that make for salvation is therefore lost, whenever morality is dissociated from divine faith. A system of morality based exclusively on human reason robs man of his highest dignity and lowers him from the supernatural to the merely natural life. Not but that man is able by the right use of reason to know and to obey certain principles of the natural law. But though he should know them all and keep them inviolate through life-and even this is impossible without the aid of the grace of our Redeemer-still it is vain for anyone without faith to promise himself eternal salvation. "If anyone abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire, and he burneth" john xv., 6). "He that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark xvi., 16). We have but too much evidence of the value and result of a morality divorced from divine faith. How is it that, in spite of all the zeal for the welfare of the masses, nations are in such straits and even distress, and that the evil is daily on the increase? We are told that society is quite able to help itself; that it can flourish without the assistance of Christianity, and attain its end by its own unaided efforts. Public administrators prefer a purely secular system of government. All traces of the religion of our forefathers are daily disappearing from political life and administration. What blindness! Once the idea of the authority of God as the Judge of right and wrong is forgotten, law must necessarily lose its primary authority and justice must perish: and these are the two most powerful and most necessary bonds of society. Similarly, once the hope and expectation of eternal happiness is taken away, temporal goods will be greedily sought after. Every man will strive to secure the largest share for himself. Hence arise envy, jealousy, hatred. The consequences are conspiracy, anarchy, nihilism. There is neither peace abroad nor security at home. Public life is stained with crime.

So great is this struggle of the passions and so serious the dangers involved, that we must either anticipate ultimate ruin or seek for an efficient remedy. It is of course both right and necessary to punish malefactors, to educate the masses, and by legislation to prevent crime in every possible way: but all this is by no means sufficient. The salvation of the nations must be looked for higher. A power greater than human must be called in to teach men's hearts, awaken in them the sense of duty, and make them better. This is the power which once before saved the world from destruction when groaning under much more terrible evils. Once remove all impediments and allow the Christian spirit to revive and grow strong in a nation, and that nation will be healed. The strife between the classes and the masses will die away; mutual rights will be respected. If Christ be listened to, both rich and poor will do their duty. The former will realise that they must observe justice and charity, the latter self-restraint and moderation, if both are to be saved. Domestic life will be firmly established (by the salutary fear of God as the Lawgiver. In the same way the precepts of the natural law, which dictates respect for lawful authority and obedience to the laws, will exercise their influence over the people. Seditions and conspiracies will cease. Wherever Christianity rules over all without let or hindrance there the order established by Divine Providence is preserved, and both security and prosperity are the happy result. The common welfare, then, urgently demands a return to Him from whom we should never have gone astray; to Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and this on the part not only of individuals but of society as a whole. We must restore Christ to this His own rightful possession. All elements of the national life must be made to drink in the Life which proceedeth from Him- legislation, political institutions, education, marriage and family life, capital and labour. Everyone must see that the very growth of civilisation which is so ardently desired depends greatly upon this, since it is fed and grows not so much by material wealth and prosperity, as by the spiritual qualities of morality and virtue. Public life has been stained with crime in the United States of America from its very inception upon one false principle of naturalism after another, the logical issue of the revolution begun by Martin Luther on October 31, 1517, against the Divine Plan that God Himself instituted to effect man's return to Him by the means of His Catholic Church that He Himself founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope.

Our Lady gave strength and comfort to Saint John the Evangelist at the foot of the Cross, and she stands ever ready to give that same strength and comfort to us during our own personal crosses and during this time that is redolent of the Roman Empire’s overt persecution of the first Catholics as a counterfeit church preaches all that is opposed to what her Divine Son has taught, revealed and entrusted to the infallible protection of His Catholic Church.

There is nothing to fear.

There are only crosses to be borne with love and prayers to be said to Our Lady for forbearance during these truly tumultuous times.

Why do we doubt that Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary will vanquish the enemies of our own personal salvation and of her Divine Son’s Social Kingship over men and nations?

Why do we doubt that Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary will vanquish the lords of conciliarism and the lords of the work and make them but mere footnotes in the history of heresiarchs and enemies of God Himself?

Pray Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary, and remember these words of Pope Saint Pius X:

11. If then the most Blessed Virgin is the Mother at once of God and men, who can doubt that she will work with all diligence to procure that Christ, Head of the Body of the Church (Coloss. i., 18), may transfuse His gifts into us, His members, and above all that of knowing Him and living through Him (I John iv., 9)?

12. Moreover it was not only the prerogative of the Most Holy Mother to have furnished the material of His flesh to the Only Son of God, Who was to be born with human members (S. Bede Ven. L. Iv. in Luc. xl.), of which material should be prepared the Victim for the salvation of men; but hers was also the office of tending and nourishing that Victim, and at the appointed time presenting Him for the sacrifice. Hence that uninterrupted community of life and labors of the Son and the Mother, so that of both might have been uttered the words of the Psalmist “My life is consumed in sorrow and my years in groans” (Ps xxx., 11). When the supreme hour of the Son came, beside the Cross of Jesus there stood Mary His Mother, not merely occupied in contemplating the cruel spectacle, but rejoicing that her Only Son was offered for the salvation of mankind, and so entirely participating in His Passion, that if it had been possible she would have gladly borne all the torments that her Son bore (S. Bonav. 1. Sent d. 48, ad Litt. dub. 4). And from this community of will and suffering between Christ and Mary she merited to become most worthily the Reparatrix of the lost world (Eadmeri Mon. De Excellentia Virg. Mariae, c. 9) and Dispensatrix of all the gifts that Our Savior purchased for us by His Death and by His Blood.

13. It cannot, of course, be denied that the dispensation of these treasures is the particular and peculiar right of Jesus Christ, for they are the exclusive fruit of His Death, who by His nature is the mediator between God and man. Nevertheless, by this companionship in sorrow and suffering already mentioned between the Mother and the Son, it has been allowed to the august Virgin to be the most powerful mediatrix and advocate of the whole world with her Divine Son (Pius IX. Ineffabilis). The source, then, is Jesus Christ “of whose fullness we have all received” (John i., 16), “from whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in charity” (Ephesians iv., 16). But Mary, as St. Bernard justly remarks, is the channel (Serm. de temp on the Nativ. B. V. De Aquaeductu n. 4); or, if you will, the connecting portion the function of which is to join the body to the head and to transmit to the body the influences and volitions of the head — We mean the neck. Yes, says St. Bernardine of Sienna, “she is the neck of Our Head, by which He communicates to His mystical body all spiritual gifts” (Quadrag. de Evangel. aetern. Serm. x., a. 3, c. iii.).

14. We are then, it will be seen, very far from attributing to the Mother of God a productive power of grace — a power which belongs to God alone. Yet, since Mary carries it over all in holiness and union with Jesus Christ, and has been associated by Jesus Christ in the work of redemption, she merits for us “de congruo,” in the language of theologians, what Jesus Christ merits for us “de condigno,” and she is the supreme Minister of the distribution of graces. Jesus “sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high” (Hebrews i. b.). Mary sitteth at the right hand of her Son — a refuge so secure and a help so trusty against all dangers that we have nothing to fear or to despair of under her guidance, her patronage, her protection. (Pius IX. in Bull Ineffabilis).

15. These principles laid down, and to return to our design, who will not see that we have with good reason claimed for Mary that — as the constant companion of Jesus from the house at Nazareth to the height of Calvary, as beyond all others initiated to the secrets of his Heart, and as the distributor, by right of her Motherhood, of the treasures of His merits,-she is, for all these reasons, a most sure and efficacious assistance to us for arriving at the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. Those, alas! furnish us by their conduct with a peremptory proof of it, who seduced by the wiles of the demon or deceived by false doctrines think they can do without the help of the Virgin. Hapless are they who neglect Mary under pretext of the honor to be paid to Jesus Christ! As if the Child could be found elsewhere than with the Mother!

16. Under these circumstances, Venerable Brethren, it is this end which all the solemnities that are everywhere being prepared in honor of the holy and Immaculate Conception of Mary should have in view. No homage is more agreeable to her, none is sweeter to her than that we should know and really love Jesus Christ. Let then crowds fill the churches — let solemn feasts be celebrated and public rejoicings be made: these are things eminently suited for enlivening our faith. But unless heart and will be added, they will all be empty forms, mere appearances of piety. At such a spectacle, the Virgin, borrowing the words of Jesus Christ, would address us with the just reproach: “This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me” (Matth. xv., 8).

17. For to be right and good, worship of the Mother of God ought to spring from the heart; acts of the body have here neither utility nor value if the acts of the soul have no part in them. Now these latter can only have one object, which is that we should fully carry out what the divine Son of Mary commands. For if true love alone has the power to unite the wills of men, it is of the first necessity that we should have one will with Mary to serve Jesus our Lord. What this most prudent Virgin said to the servants at the marriage feast of Cana she addresses also to us: “Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye” (John ii., 5).

Now here is the word of Jesus Christ: “If you would enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matt. xix., 17). Let them each one fully convince himself of this, that if his piety towards the Blessed Virgin does not hinder him from sinning, or does not move his will to amend an evil life, it is a piety deceptive and Iying, wanting as it is in proper effect and its natural fruit.

18. If anyone desires a confirmation of this it may easily be found in the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. For leaving aside tradition which, as well as Scripture, is a source of truth, how has this persuasion of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin appeared so conformed to the Catholic mind and feeling that it has been held as being one, and as it were inborn in the soul of the faithful? “We shrink from saying,” is the answer of Dionysius of Chartreux, “of this woman who was to crush the head of the serpent that had been crushed by him and that Mother of God that she had ever been a daughter of the Evil One” (Sent. d. 3, q. 1). No, to the Christian intelligence the idea is unthinkable that the flesh of Christ, holy, stainless, innocent, was formed in the womb of Mary of a flesh which had ever, if only for the briefest moment, contracted any stain. And why so, but because an infinite opposition separates God from sin? There certainly we have the origin of the conviction common to all Christians that Jesus Christ before, clothed in human nature, He cleansed us from our sins in His blood, accorded Mary the grace and special privilege of being preserved and exempted, from the first moment of her conception, from all stain of original sin.

19. If then God has such a horror of sin as to have willed to keep free the future Mother of His Son not only from stains which are voluntarily contracted but, by a special favor and in prevision of the merits of Jesus Christ, from that other stain of which the sad sign is transmitted to all us sons of Adam by a sort of hapless heritage: who can doubt that it is a duty for everyone who seeks by his homage to gain the heart of Mary to correct his vicious and depraved habits and to subdue the passions which incite him to evil? (Pope Saint Pius X, Ad Diem Illum Laetissimum, February 2, 1904.)

Catholic empires, kingdoms and principalities used to honor Our Lady publicly with pilgrimages, processions and festival on her feast days, including those feast days particular to a local area or region and those not included in the universal calendar of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church. Moreover, Catholics who participated in these pilgrimages did so out of love for Our Lord and His Most Blessed Mother as they sought to make reparation for their sins. Unlike Jorge Mario Bergoglio and most of his conciliar comrades, these Catholics had horror for and detestation of their sins, and they did not want anyone to “accompany” them in those sins. They sought to quit their sins and implore the intercessory help of Our Lady, without whose loving help we are lost. Doomed. Damned.

Pope Saint Pius X explained that Our Lady’s example of perfect humility and ready obedience to the will of God is for us all to imitate:

20. Whoever moreover wishes, and no one ought not so to wish, that his devotion should be worthy of her and perfect, should go further and strive might and main to imitate her example. It is a divine law that those only attain everlasting happiness who have by such faithful following reproduced in themselves the form of the patience and sanctity of Jesus Christ: “for whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be made conformable to the image of His Son; that He might be the first-born amongst many brethren” (Romans viii., 29). But such generally is our infirmity that we are easily discouraged by the greatness of such an example: by the providence of God, however, another example is proposed to us, which is both as near to Christ as human nature allows, and more nearly accords with the weakness of our nature. And this is no other than the Mother of God. “Such was Mary,” very pertinently points out St. Ambrose, “that her life is an example for all.” And, therefore, he rightly concludes: “Have then before your eyes, as an image, the virginity and life of Mary from whom as from a mirror shines forth the brightness of chastity and the form of virtue” (De Virginib. L. ii., c. ii.) (Pope Saint Pius X, Ad Diem Illum Laetissimum, February 2, 1904.)

We live in a world that rewards and celebrates unchastity, impurity, indecency and perversity. It is up to us as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary to make reparation for the paganism, satanism, socialism, communism, capitalism, materialism, naturalism, hedonism, pantheism, relativism, utilitarianism, egalitarianism, authoritarianism, statism and globalism that promises men “happiness” here in order to lead them to eternal unhappiness and punishment fire for all eternity in hell while being deprived of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity. Our acts of reparation for our sins and those of the whole world will help to plant a few seeds for the conversion of men and their nations to the true Faith.

Pray Our Lady’s Most Holy and pray it to make the best Lent of your lives as none of us knows whether it will be our last.
