Today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Wednesday of Holy Week, is known as Spy Wednesday, the day on which the traitor Judas Iscariot betrayed His Divine Master, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for thirty pieces of silver, something that, truth be told, we ourselves do whenever we sin as even our least Venial Sins involves a choice that places our disordered love of self and our tepidity over growth in the interior life to spiritual perfection. Unlike Judas Iscariot, however, we do not despair of our salvation but seek out the ineffable mercy of the Divine Redeemer in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance.

Most of those who hold prominent positions of authority in the world, however, are not in the least bit concerned with their own sanctification and salvation. The pagans among these persons are committed to the promotion of wickedness under the cover of civil law as a “human right.” The Protestants suffer from the deadly sin of Presumption about their salvation, which is the opposite of Judas Iscraiot’s deadly sin of Despair, and many of the Catholics within the echelons of political or cultural authority have made their accommodations to the world, the flesh, and their devil for their own thirty pieces of silver.

As I have noted so many times before on this website, many of those who are ignorant about and/or who care nothing for the salvation of their immortal souls are so blinded with pride and the narcissism that flows therefrom that they can ever admit the truth about their own personal shortcomings, including mistaken judgments that have resulted in tragedies of their own making including tragedies that have cost the lives of countless numbers of innocent human beings.

Such is the case with former president Donald John Trump, who continues to insist that the emergency use “vaccines” produced by his warped “Operation Warp Speed” saved millions of lives even the opposite is true:

(LifeSiteNews) — Former President and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reiterated his support for the controversial COVID-19 shots yet again, claiming credit for them despite years of pleading from members of his own base to disavow them.

During Thursday night’s annual State of the Union address, President Joe Biden made a passing reference to the shots in recounting America’s battle with the virus. “The pandemic no longer controls our lives,” he said. “The vaccine that saved us from COVID is — are now being used to beat cancer.”

While watching his 2024 opponent and responding in real time on his personal social network Truth Social, Trump replied, “YOU’RE WELCOME, JOE, NINE MONTH APPROVAL TIME VS. 12 YEARS THAT IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU!”

The COVID jabs were developed and reviewed in a fraction of the time vaccines usually take under the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed initiative. But while initially embraced by many in both parties, a significant body of evidence has since arisen establishing that they carry significant health risks.

The federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports 37,231 deaths, 214,906 hospitalizations, 21,524 heart attacks, and 28,214 myocarditis and pericarditis cases as of February 23, among other ailments. An April 2022 study out of Israel indicates that COVID infection itself cannot fully account for the myocarditis numbers, despite common insistence to the contrary. VAERS reports are technically unconfirmed, as anyone can submit one, but U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) researchers have recognized a “high verification rate of reports of myocarditis to VAERS after mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination,” leading to the conclusion that “under-reporting is more likely” than over-reporting.

A 2010 report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS’s) Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) warned that VAERS caught “fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events.” On the problem of under-reporting, the VAERS website offers only that “more serious and unexpected medical events are probably more likely to be reported than minor ones” (emphasis added).

Further, contrary to both Trump and Biden’s suggestion that quick delivery of the injections was necessary to end pandemic-related lockdown policies, a large body of evidence has also established that the mass restrictions on leaving home and public gatherings, mask mandates, and other drastic infringements on personal and economic freedom undertaken in 2020 and part of 2021 caused far more harm than good. 

A Florida grand jury is currently investigating the COVID shots’ manufacturers and last month released its first report, concerning the presumptive “need” for Operation Warp Speed. In addition to concurring that lockdowns did more harm than good and forced masking was ineffective, it found that COVID was “statistically almost harmless” to children and most adults and that it is “highly likely” that COVID hospitalization numbers were inflated.

Trump’s refusal to disavow the COVID shots has long been one of the biggest points of contention with former supporters.

Since leaving office, he repeatedly promoted them as “one of the greatest achievements of mankind,” even accusing hesitant supporters of “playing right into their [the left’s] hands,” all the while stressing that he never supported mandating them. The negative reception to such comments got him to drop the subject for a while, though in July 2022 he complained that “we did so much in terms of therapeutics and a word that I’m not allowed to mention. But I’m still proud of that word, because we did that in nine months, and it was supposed to take five years to 12 years. Nobody else could have done it. But I’m not mentioning it in front of my people.” (Trump brags about COVID shots in response to Biden’s State of the Union address.)

It is to take away nothing from Soviet style lawfare that has been used ever since Donald John Trump came down the golden stairs on the escalator in Trump Tower on June 16, 2015, to announce his candidacy for the 2016 Republican Party presidential nomination, to note that his overweening pride and limitless hubris blinds him to any legitimate criticism of himself. Trump persists in the fairy tale that the “vaccines” have saved millions of lives, which is why he is mystified about why “his” people boo whenever he mentions the poisoned jabs nonexistent “miraculous” nature.

Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the mRNA technology for use in vaccines who has been a persistent critic of the “vaccines” developed to “prevent” the Wuhan virus, explained last year he had produced a film to help the former president see the truth about the harm caused by his pet project:

Additionally, it was just eight days ago that Dr. Peter A. McCullough explained his dissatisfaction with both Donald John Trump and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., on their willful decisions to ignore the truth about the Wuhan virus poisoned jabs:

Testifying March 15 at the Arizona State Capitol, McCullough said that deaths attributable to the COVID shots are “grossly underreported, probably 30 to one,” with the actual death toll “likely” as high as “about 550,000.”

Despite this harrowing possibility, he said, “our two major presidential candidates are the same on this issue. They are completely, willfully blind to what’s happened to Americans. They’re focused on other issues outside of the health, the welfare, and actually the survival of their own people. The same is true worldwide.”

The U.S. Supreme Court blocked the private employee mandate while upholding the healthcare mandate in January 2022; in December of that year, the U.S. House of Representatives forced the Pentagon to end the military mandate, albeit without reinstatement and back pay for those ousted for refusing to comply. 

While no longer a prominent discussion topic now that the CDC admits COVID may be treated similarly to other respiratory viruses and many private institutions are dropping their own mandates, Biden still touts the vaccine on occasion, most recently declaring in his annual State of the Union address that the “vaccine that saved us from COVID” is “now being used to beat cancer.” His administration has also urged social networks to censor user content about the dangers and ineffectiveness of the shots. 

Meanwhile, Trump has consistently opposed vaccine mandates but has just as consistently stood by the vaccine itself as a landmark achievement of his administration while dismissing any suggestion that it was anything less than a “miracle.”

In January 2023, he dismissed potential safety issues by suggesting that “problems” were in “relatively small numbers” while stressing that “some people say that I saved 100 million lives worldwide.” At the time, mRNA technology pioneer and prominent COVID establishment critic Dr. Robert Malone revealed that he once filmed a video meant to encourage Trump to change his mind on the subject, but it had “no impact.” 

That June, Trump brushed off an audience member who told him “we have lost people because you supported the jab,” answering that “everybody wanted a vaccine at that time,” “I was able to do something that nobody else could have done,” “I never was for mandates,” and “there’s a big portion of the country that thinks that was a great thing.” He repeated that answer in an interview the same month with Fox News’s Bret Baier, lamenting that “as a Republican, it’s not a great thing to talk about, because for some reason it’s just not” and stressing he had no regrets about his administration’s overall COVID response.

Trump’s COVID record is seen as one of the former president’s biggest vulnerabilities as he seeks to return to the White House, with his refusal to admit error stoking concerns about how different a second administration would be. Yet with significant backing from Republican officeholders and conservative media, he easily dominated the early primary states, convincing his Republican opponents Ron DeSantis (one of the GOP’s only prominent jab opponents) and Vivek Ramaswamy to drop out in January and Nikki Haley to do the same in early March.

Polls currently show Trump leading Biden for the November election, although voters also say that potential convictions in Trump’s various ongoing criminal trials will make them less likely to support him, which Democrat strategists are banking on keeping the deeply-unpopular Biden palatable enough to moderate voters to prevail. 

The third-party candidacy of former Democrat and environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. could be a wild card, given he appeals both to Democrats who want a more mentally capable and seemingly less extreme liberal, and Republicans who prefer his opposition to the medical establishment, including his outspoken criticism of the COVID shots and vaccines more generally.

At the moment, the aforementioned polls have Kennedy drawing roughly the same number of votes from the two major candidates, leaving Trump with a narrow lead. But given how close many are predicting the election to be, concern persists over how even small defections could impact the outcome.

“Trump absolutely needs all of his base to turn out in November to overcome election-rigging and corporate state media lies whispered through the television in the ears of normies who barely pay attention to politics save for one month every four years,” PJ Media journalist Ben Bartee wrote. “This is not my personal crusade; millions and millions of his supporters have not forgotten about the criminal rush to market of the so-called ‘vaccines’; many of them have family members who died or were themselves maimed.” (Peter McCullough calls out both Biden, Trump for ‘willful blindness’ on COVID-19 vaccines.)

Although I will reserve all commentary about the election itself until after Easter, suffice it say that the “answer,” not there is any in Modernity’s fraudulent system of the false opposites of naturalism, does rest with the pro-abortion Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr. (see Remember, Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr., That You Have A Soul), who only yesterday, March 26, 2024, Tuesday of Holy Week, named a pro-abortion woman named Nicole Shanahan, who engaged in what she herself called a Druidic-influenced “love ceremony” to her current partner in natural sins against the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, to be his vice-presidential running mate (see Nicole Shanahan Commits to Jacob Strumwasser). The adversary is in full charge of almost everyone in the global hold that Judeo-Calvinist naturalism has on those in public life.

Speaking of the adversary, his chief confederate in the web known as the One World Ecumenical Church, which is a but a subsidiary of the multilayered transhumanist web known as One World Governance/New World Order/Global Rest of Humanity, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who is no friend of Donald John Trump’s, of course, has himself defend the Wuhan virus “vaccine” while ridiculing those who have rejected getting jabbed and/or have documented the injuries and deaths the jabs have produced:

VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Pope Francis has issued fresh condemnation of critics of the abortion-tainted COVID-19 injections, saying that opposition to the shots “distressed” him since “being against the antidote is an almost suicidal act of denial.”

Speaking as part of his newly released memoirs, in a series of interviews conducted by journalist Fabio Marchese Ragona, Pope Francis highlighted his thoughts and responses to the COVID-19 era, including the abortion-tainted COVID jabs and his warm welcome of them.

The Pontiff rebuked those who did not receive an injection, or who voiced opposition to them publicly, saying:

Deciding whether to get vaccinated is always an ethical choice, but I know that many people signed up to movements opposed to the administration of the medication. This distressed me because in my view, being against the antidote is an almost suicidal act of denial.

Francis also made a thinly-veiled condemnation of Cardinal Raymond Burke, who voiced strong opposition to the injections and who was also hospitalized with COVID-19 and serious health issues. 

“There were even a few anti-vaxxers among the bishops: some came close to death,” stated Francis, echoing a veiled dig he made at the American cardinal in 2021.

Referring to the COVID-related lockdowns as a “grim scenario,” Francis stated that “[t]his grim scenario began to change with the arrival of the first vaccines,” failing to mention the multitude of side effects linked to the rollout of the experimental jabs, including upticks in heart, brain and blood diseases, among others issues.

The Pontiff, who has remained an outspoken promoter of the injections from the start, opined that “a generalized fear was created when superficial explanations of how the vaccines worked spoke of injections of the virus into the body. There were also claims there was nothing but water in the vials; some people even stated publicly that microchips were being implanted in people.” 

“All this,” he said, “created confusion and panic.”

Particularly during the height of COVID-19 related restrictions, Francis regularly pushed the “moral obligation” of taking an abortion-tainted jab as being an “act of love.” As early as late summer 2020, he suggested that “everyone” must take the COVID-19 vaccine. “I believe that, ethically, everyone should take the vaccine,” he said. The pope added “it must be done.”

In January 2021, Francis and Pope Benedict XVI were among the first to receive the abortion-tainted injections, with Pfizer supplying the Holy See with its injections. Both men subsequently received boosters of the injection in the months following. 

Commenting on this, Francis told Ragona: “When the first supplies arrived at the Vatican, I scheduled my vaccination immediately; later I got the boosters as well, and, thanks be to God, I lave not caught the virus.” 

The pope noted with pleasure the initiative which he undertook with papal almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, to invite the financially needy along with “transgender” individuals to receive their injections at the Vatican. 

Pfizer’s production of abortion pills, along with its production of a COVID-19 injection involving tests using the HEK 293 cell line, is derived from kidney tissue taken from a healthy baby who was aborted in the Netherlands in the 1970s. Seemingly undeterred by the ethical question, Francis secretly met twice with Pfizer CEO Francis Bourla during 2021, with Bourla also speaking at a Vatican-hosted health conference. 

The Vatican also mandated COVID jabs for Vatican employees and visitors, removing the option to test “negative” for the virus, and allowing only proof of recovery from the virus as an alternative to the injection. An additional mandate resulted in three Swiss Guards losing their jobs in 2021 after refusing to take the abortion-tainted injection.

COVID injections mandates finally ended in June 2022, though it was extended for the Swiss Guards. As late as January 2023, COVID shots were still required for reporters wishing to join the Pope on papal journeys – a mandate which expired by that April.

Highlighting the intimate link to abortion which the injections have, Cardinal Burke stated in May 2020 that “[i]t is never morally justified to develop a vaccine through the use of cell lines of aborted fetuses” and that the thought of it being injected into one’s body is “rightly abhorrent.” He noted also that vaccination may not be imposed “in a totalitarian manner” on citizens.

Similar vocal criticism of the injections has also been repeatedly issued by prelates such as Bishop Athanasius Schneider. Indeed, in a seminal intervention of December 12, 2020, Bishop Athanasius Schneider – along with co-signers Cardinal Janis Pujats, Bishop Joseph Strickland, and Archbishops Tomash Peta and Jan Pawel Lenga – expressed their strong conviction that any use of a vaccine tainted with the “unspeakable crime” of abortion, under any circumstances, “cannot be acceptable for Catholics.”

Since that time, numerous studies and many thousands of scientists and leading health professionals, including Nobel Prize winners, and medics have testified to the unprecedented level of injuries and deaths, following and resulting from the COVID injections. The latest conservative estimate is that over 17 million worldwide died from receiving the injections making this the worst man-caused medical catastrophe in history.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio is the one who is engaged in a homicidal act of denial, which is to be expected given the fact that that is antipope and figure of Antichrist denies almost everything contained in the Sacred Deposit of the Holy Faith and is a reliable shill for every anti-Theistic, anti-life fable churned out by the World Health Organization, Big Pharma, the World Economic Forum.

Yes, there is a great irony in the fact that Jorge Mario Bergoglio would be allied with Donald John Trump on anything, but they are as one when he comes to embracing the poisoned jabs that are derived from the stem cells of butchered babies and are thus illicit to use under any circumstances even if they did not contain material poisons that are causing most of these so-called “sudden deaths” and are resulting in Stalinist measures being taken against “vaccine” critics, including what is happening at present in the People’s Republic of Canada to physician Charles Hoffe:

Prominent Canadian physician  Dr. Charles Hoffe has spoken out courageously to warn people of the very serious dangers of the Covid mRNA genetic “vaccines”.  He now faces trial from the Canadian health authorities aiming to silence him and effectively destroy his medical practice.

What is most disturbing about this unprecedented case is that, if the prosecution gets its way, all the evidence produced by the State claiming the Covid vaccines are “safe and effective” will be deemed indisputable, irrefutable—and Dr. Hoffe would not be able to defend himself or call expert witnesses!

In other words, a Stalinist show trial designed to intimidate all doctors and patients who value medical freedom of choice, the right to a fair trial, freedom of speech, and medical ethics.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, whe Dr. Hoffe practices, had scheduled the disciplinary hearing for March 4th through March 15th.  But at the last minute, the College pulled a fast one.  “When [the College] saw the mountain of evidence stacked against them, and against the public health narrative, obviously they panicked because I don’t think they realized how vigorous our opposition was going to be,” explains Hoffe in a March 7th interview.[1]

As a countermeasure, the College dumped a massive trove of documents on Dr. Hoffe’s lawyer AND invoked an almost unheard-of legal trick called Judicial Notice, which means the disciplinary Panel would accept all the College’s basic assertions as uncontestably true.  Hoffe’s voluminous evidence—both from his own private practice as a family doctor and from the scientific literature—that the Covid mRNA vaccines cause widespread death, neurological problems, micro-clotting, infertility, immune-system damage, and other severe adverse side effects would be inadmissible.

Given this outrageous legal trick, Dr. Hoffe’s lawyer had no choice but to request an adjournment and hire four more attorneys to sift through the College’s eleventh-hour document-dump.

If the Disciplinary Committee implements Judicial Notice, explains Dr.Hoffe, “I would have no opportunity to testify in my defense, nor would any of [my eight] expert witnesses….It would render this literally a kangaroo court.  This is an astonishing act of injustice, where you literally accuse somebody of something and then remove their ability to defend themselves.”[2]

The government’s objective, he says, is “to try to make an example of me and make sure all the other doctors toe the line and keep quiet and just obey.”  Dr. Hoffe, who is widely regarded as a heroic truth-teller across much of Canada, comes across as a down-to-earth man of great integrity, honesty and humility.  An outspoken advocate for patient safety, medical ethics, and the Hippocratic oath (“First, do no harm”), he is accused by the medical authorities of spreading “misinformation,” putting people at risk, and encouraging “vaccine hesitancy.”  After 31 years as an emergency room physician with not a single patient complaint against him, he was fired from his ER position for telling a nurse that somebody who had natural immunity didn’t need to get the Covid jab.

Exposing the medical cartel’s coverup

In a speech delivered at the site of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Vancouver in August 2022, Dr. Hoffe declared: “What we have seen in the last 18 months since the start of the vaccine rollout is the biggest disaster in medical history.  Never before in medical history has any medical treatment killed and maimed so many people….You only have to look at the OpenVAERS.com in the USA. 30,000 people dead, 55,000 permanently disabled, 50,000 cases of myocarditis, and 1.3 million vaccine injuries…This is an utterly failed experiment, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons here in B.C. is the one organization who could have and should have said no.”[3]

OpenVAERS.com is an easy-to-access version of the US Centers for Disease Control’s Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System.  VAERS vastly underreports the number of vaccine-induced injuries and deaths, capturing an estimated 1% to 10% of adverse events.

In his March 7, 2024 interview about the upcoming trial, Hoffe notes that  OpenVAERS currently reports “almost 70,000 permanently disabled and about 2 million vaccine injuries, and yet Health Canada and the FDA look the other way and continue to tell us it’s safe and effective.”  At the time of this writing, OpenVAERS registered 37,231 COVID vaccine reported deaths.

The Covid vaccine manufacturers admit that their poorly tested, highly experimental  injections do not prevent infection with Covid and do not stop transmission of the (alleged) SARS-CoV-2 virus.

And yet the charade goes on….in Canada, the United States, most of Europe, Australia and the no-longer “free world.”

Dr. Hoffe has repeatedly pointed out these facts as well as the fact that the more Covid shots you get, the more likely you are to be diagnosed with Covid.  This is true of individuals and whole nations.  As Hoffe cogently observes, “Every vaccine injury reporting system across the world reports record numbers of deaths and disabilities and vaccine injuries that we’ve never seen the likes of from any medical treatment in history.  And yet they completely turn a blind eye and they just carry on recommending that people get vaccinated.  It’s absolutely absurd.” [4]

Micro-clots

Dr. Hoffe determined that up to 62% of his patients who got the Covid mRNA vaccine develop micro-blood-clots too small to detect on MRI or CT scan.  He was the first medical expert to state publicly that these blood clots are not rare.  According to Hoffe, these micro-clots permeate the capillary network in the vaxxed, resulting in blockage of capillaries (pulmonary arterial hypertension); this condition usually kills people within 3 years,  and those who survive may suffer steady deterioration, especially if they take another Covid shot.  The only way you can find out if the Covid “vaccine” gave you micro-blood clots is to ask your doctor to give you a D-dimer test, like the one Dr. Hoffe has performed on his patients.[5]

This finding alone should have led to the immediate withdrawal of all the Covid-19 genetic “vaccines.”  They are indeed “clot-shots” as the critics have warned repeatedly.  But the Pharma-controlled mainstream media lies and assures us that both large and tiny blood clots are “extremely rare,” when the opposite is true.

Most of Dr. Hoffe’s patients developed micro-clots within 7 days after the jab, but others may well experience micro-clotting later on as the genetic cocktail (“vaccine”) wreaks its harmful effects on the body.

Dr. Hoffe’s case is far from uncommon as the same thing is occurring in the medical world to physicians and healthcare workers who speak out against the “vaccines” by providing hard facts about the injuries and deaths they have caused, are causing, and will continue to cause well into the future given the ticking time bombs contained therein.

Another victim of the Stalinist measures being taken by Wuhan vaccine recusant is Dr. Martin Kulldorff, who was fired by the oldest college in the United States of America, Harvard University, whose motto is “Veritas” but whose actual practice is the suppression of it:

Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration said Harvard University’s decision to fire him for non-compliance with the university’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate is just one example of the consequences faced by anyone who questioned the official COVID-19 narratives.

In an appearance on “The Defender In-Depth” podcast, Kulldorff, an epidemiologist, said his firing is part of a broader trend of censorship and intolerance toward people who express diverging views in the broader fields of science, medicine and academia.

Kulldorff is one of the five individual plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the Biden administration alleging key administration officials and government agencies coerced social media platforms to remove content, in violation of the First Amendment.

Kulldorff discussed the latest developments in the suit — Murthy et al. v. Missouri et al. — whose plaintiffs also include the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on an injunction, previously granted by lower courts, barring the administration and certain federal agencies from communicating with social media platforms for the removal of content.

He also discussed the COVID-19 pandemic response of his native Sweden, which bucked the global trend by eschewing lockdowns, vaccine and mask mandates, making the country the target of global pressure and widespread media criticism. Yet, Sweden now demonstrates better public health outcomes than most other countries.

Kulldorff said Harvard was “not happy” with him when he co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration in 2020. However, it was Kulldorff’s decision not to get a COVID-19 vaccine that ultimately led Harvard to fire him.

“We had a disagreement about infection-acquired immunity,” Kulldorff said. “I was fired because I didn’t want to take the vaccine because I didn’t need it. I had better immunity from having had [COVID-19] already, and so, there was no medical reason for me to do it. And there was certain risk, because with every vaccine and drug, there’s some risk.”

Yet, many of his colleagues at Harvard and other institutions “sort of kept quiet” and “went along with it,” Kulldorff said. He attributed their cooperation to the federal funding many scientists and researchers receive from agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

“They sit on the biggest pile of medical research money in the world,” Kulldorff said. “So, it’s pretty scary for a scientist to speak up against their wishes, because you risk losing the resource funds that you depend on to support your family, and also to support the other people that work in your laboratory.”

Still, in personal contacts with fellow epidemiologists, Kulldorff said “The majority were arguing for focused protections over better protecting the older people, by letting kids go to school and so on. So, there was never a consensus in the scientific community, at least not in the epidemiological community, for these lockdown measures.”

Kulldorff said that during the pandemic, “all the basic principles of public health were thrown out the window.” His former institution, Harvard, was no exception, “going to online teaching before there was any government incentive or push to do so.”

This, Kulldorff said, “set the stage, and a lot of other colleges and even high schools and elementary schools sort of followed Harvard’s lead” in locking down.

Similarly, Harvard later imposed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate — which it finally ended on March 5. “There was no public health reason to mandate vaccines for students” in particular, Kulldorff said, because most of them “had COVID, so they have superior immunity. But even those few that haven’t [caught COVID-19] face minuscule risk from COVID.”

Kulldorff cited his native Sweden as an example of a country that bucked the trend and kept schools — and society more broadly — open during the pandemic.

“If you look at the elementary and high school students, we know that the test results went down” in countries that closed their schools, Kulldorff said. “The kids were hurt by this, and they will never fully recover from the damage that we did to them.”

Sweden was the only major Western country that kept schools open for ages 1-15, according to Kulldorff who said test results in Sweden have shown “no comparable drop — it’s just as normal, slightly going up.”

Among 1.8 million children who went to school in Sweden throughout the virus wave during the spring of 2020, “there were exactly zero COVID deaths and only a few hospitalizations,” he said.

Public health outcomes in Sweden also were positive for other population groups. “Sweden has low COVID mortality, less than the average in Europe [and] the lowest excess mortality in the Western world.”

Kulldorff said Swedish authorities were able to resist global pressure to impose lockdowns and mandates because they “had very strong support from other epidemiologists in Sweden” and “very strong support by the public” for their approach.

He noted that Sweden’s then-prime minister, Stefan Löfven, had a working-class background, having begun his career as a welder. Noting that lockdowns favored “the upper class,” Kulldorff said Löfven’s background might have made a difference as he could “understand what the effect these lockdowns had on regular people.”

Science will ‘dwindle down’ without freedom of speech

Yet, in other countries, including the U.S., dissenting views were silenced, Kulldorff said.

“Those of us who tried to speak up were either silenced or, after they couldn’t silence us anymore, we were slandered,” he said, noting that after the Great Barrington Declaration was published, Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D., then the director of the NIH, called for “a devastating published takedown” in response.

“With scientific or other logical arguments, they have two options: They can sort of silence it by ignoring it or censoring it, which was done, or they can attack it through slander and smears,” Kulldorff said. He said postings he made on Twitter and YouTube critical of mask mandates and school closures, were removed by those platforms.

“They didn’t want the science to be known, the true science, and the true principles of public health,” Kulldorff said.

That’s why Kulldorff joined the Missouri et al. v. Biden et al. (now known as Murthy et al. v. Missouri et al.) lawsuit. He said the central argument the plaintiffs are making in this case “is that the federal government should not be allowed to coerce social media to censor people like myself.”

“They actually censored accurate, correct scientific information from scientists at Harvard and other places. And to me that’s pretty astonishing,” Kulldorff said.

Kulldorff said that during Monday’s Supreme Court hearing, “There were clearly some justices who seemed to be very sympathetic” to the plaintiffs’ position, and “seemed very concerned about the First Amendment.”

But other justices argued that “the government should be allowed to coerce social media to censor” in some instances.

By June, the Supreme Court will issue a ruling on whether or not to uphold the injunctions lower courts previously granted in this case. Kulldorff said the case will then return to the lower courts and is expected to “take years” to resolve, proceeding “in tandem” with Kennedy et al. v. Biden et al. — a similar lawsuit in which Children’s Health Defense is a plaintiff. The two lawsuits were consolidated in July 2023.

“I thought we were in agreement, as a country, as a society, that freedom of speech is important, that it is the foundation for us,” Kulldorff said. “It saddens me greatly that that’s not the case.

As correct as Dr. Kulldorff is about the facts he has brought forth at the point of being fired for his courage in stating the truth on a natural level clearly, he is among the multitudes who do not understand that the contemporary concept of “freedom of speech” means a license for error, something that one true pope after another pointed out prior to the dawning of the age of conciliarism with the rise of the Rosicrucian Mason, Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII, as the first of the current line of the six usurpers have president over the counterfeit church of conciliarism since October 28, 1958, the Feast of Saints Simon and Jude:

This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. For you well know, venerable brethren, that at this time men are found not a few who, applying to civil society the impious and absurd principle of "naturalism," as they call it, dare to teach that "the best constitution of public society and (also) civil progress altogether require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion any more than if it did not exist; or, at least, without any distinction being made between the true religion and false ones." And, since where religion has been removed from civil society, and the doctrine and authority of divine revelation repudiated, the genuine notion itself of justice and human right is darkened and lost, and the place of true justice and legitimate right is supplied by material force, thence it appears why it is that some, utterly neglecting and disregarding the surest principles of sound reason, dare to proclaim that "the people's will, manifested by what is called public opinion or in some other way, constitutes a supreme law, free from all divine and human control; and that in the political order accomplished facts, from the very circumstance that they are accomplished, have the force of right." But who, does not see and clearly perceive that human society, when set loose from the bonds of religion and true justice, can have, in truth, no other end than the purpose of obtaining and amassing wealth, and that (society under such circumstances) follows no other law in its actions, except the unchastened desire of ministering to its own pleasure and interests? This does away with the very specious argument about the purpose of “free speech” advanced by the author of a factual review of the ways in which the deep state engineers and their accomplices in the semi-private sector have sought to suppress the truth.

Moreover, Pope Leo XIII, writing in Immortale Dei, explained that there one is never morally free to do that which is proscribed by the Divine and Natural Laws:

So, too, the liberty of thinking, and of publishing, whatsoever each one likes, without any hindrance, is not in itself an advantage over which society can wisely rejoice. On the contrary, it is the fountain-head and origin of many evils. Liberty is a power perfecting man, and hence should have truth and goodness for its object. But the character of goodness and truth cannot be changed at option. These remain ever one and the same, and are no less unchangeable than nature itself. If the mind assents to false opinions, and the will chooses and follows after what is wrong, neither can attain its native fullness, but both must fall from their native dignity into an abyss of corruption. Whatever, therefore, is opposed to virtue and truth may not rightly be brought temptingly before the eye of man, much less sanctioned by the favor and protection of the law. A well-spent life is the only passport to heaven, whither all are bound, and on this account the State is acting against the laws and dictates of nature whenever it permits the license of opinion and of action to lead minds astray from truth and souls away from the practice of virtue. It is a grave and fatal error to exclude Holy Mother Church from the business of life, from the making of laws, from the education of youth and from influencing the whole direction of domestic society. The Western world is on a death march from which, humanly speaking, there is no retreat. This is all a preparation for the coming of Antichrist to take control of a world that has been torn apart by the proliferation of sin and error by those who believe that men can make their lives better without Christ the King and His true Church, which is precisely why the state-sponsored merchants of genuine disinformation have been so successful while being completely without remorse after their schemes have been exposed.

This why men such as Donald John Trump and Jorge Mario Bergoglio are also blind to the harm caused by Dr. Anthony Fauci, to whom Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and who has been praised by “Pope” Francis, even though book after book and article after article have been published documenting the harm that this narcissistic sociopath has done:

In the post-pandemic period of COVID, there's now a concerted effort to understand and explain the damage that was caused by our hysterical overreaction. There's a long list of policy failures to examine; mask mandates were a disaster that accomplished nothing of value and led to tremendous harms, many of which continue today.

Children were forced into masks for years on end, millions of people still wear masks when traveling or inside stores and restaurants, permanently convinced of the lie that masks are effective prevention tools. Perhaps most ominously, healthcare workers are often still required to mask in blue cities. Some hospitals have required masking continuously since 2020, while others are now enforcing rolling mandates based on the delusions of administrators.

It gets worse though. Much, much worse.

Research into the economic cost of many of our COVID policies and mandates is still ongoing, but a new, extremely detailed report on school closures has created a horrifying context for just how damaging Anthony Fauci's advocacy was during the pandemic.

The research opens with an obvious acknowledgment of failure on the part of COVID mandates. Despite wildly different policies, there was virtually no difference in outcomes between countries.

"From the available evidence, it is difficult to identify the specific responses to the pandemic that led to better outcomes," they write. "Countries clearly responded to the challenges in very different ways, from essentially no school closures (Sweden) to multiple years of closures (Uganda and Indonesia). Yet, simple statistics such as the length of school closures or overall health policies cannot explain much of the variance in outcomes."

Lockdowns, mask mandates, vaccine passports…none of it mattered or explains the variance in outcomes between countries. Why? The obvious answer is that none of these policies had the slightest chance of preventing transmission of a highly infectious respiratory virus.

Instead, the likely explanation for variance in outcomes is down to differences in accounting for COVID cases and deaths, underlying health and age demographics, or pre-existing immunity from exposure to similar coronaviruses. That last explanation was almost certainly the reason why countries in Asia performed much better than western countries during the early part of the pandemic, but was conveniently ignored in favor of "experts" maintaining the wishful thinking that "mask culture" was responsible. 

Regardless of the explanation, the fact that there is no consistent factor to attribute better outcomes to is in itself an indictment of our COVID policies and mandates. If it's impossible to predict why a country did better or worse than another country, any justification for continued restrictions disappears. If only someone told Fauci or his allies in the public health establishment in 2020-2021 when they forcefully criticized anyone, like Ron DeSantis, who realized that reality.

School Closures Caused Unimaginable Harms

The researchers spent most of their time attempting to assess the damage caused by one of the pandemic's most inexcusable policies: school closures. And the results of their estimates are jaw-dropping.

"Based on the available research on lifetime earnings associated with more skills, the average student in school during the pandemic will lose 5 to 6 percent of lifetime earnings," they found. "Because a lower-skilled workforce leads to lower economic growth, the nation will lose some $31 trillion (in present value terms) during the twenty-first century. This aggregate economic loss is higher than the US GDP for one year and dwarfs the total economic losses from either the slowdown of the economy during the pandemic or from the 2008 recession."

That's not a misprint: $31 trillion. 

Teachers unions, Fauci, the CDC, politicians, they all ensured that the American economy will be decimated in the next century because they refused to admit they were wrong. As cost of living skyrockets thanks to rampant inflation, also caused by our incompetence and malicious, purposeful ignorance, children forced to learn under school closures will be irreparably set back, costing themselves hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of earned income throughout their lives.

It's easy to suggest that maybe these harms could be erased or mitigated over time. The researchers addressed that too, without providing much hope for the future.

"Finally, we provide a few observations about recovery from the learning losses. History suggests that these losses are likely to be permanent unless the schools become better than they were before the pandemic," they conclude.

With incompetent political activists like Randi Weingarten controlling schools, disgraceful DEI policies infiltrating every aspect of public education, the lack of acknowledgment from Fauci and other organizations that COVID mandates were a failure, and the complete ideologcal capture of the education system, it's impossible to reasonably expect that schools will ever "become better than they were."

The damage they caused is locked in, forever.

Once Again, Florida Provides The Alternative

Importantly, school closures didn't affect everywhere equally. In far left states like California, New York, New Jersey and Illinois, school closures persisted well into 2021. 

But Florida was one of the few states, and perhaps the only big one, to make reopening schools a priority. Despite the objections of teachers unions and media outlets that attempted to label the governor as "DeathSantis." 

And it's going to pay off, relatively speaking. A figure presented in the research shows that Florida's economic state loss in GDP is nearly equal to Pennsylvania, despite a population that's nearly 75% bigger than Pennsylvania. And California's estimated losses, roughly $1.3 trillion, are more than 116% higher than Florida, much larger than the population difference. Similarly, New York's economic losses far exceed Florida's, despite a smaller population.

DeSantis followed the actual science, listened to competent outside expert advisors, and his state is set to benefit in the future massively as a result, when compared to other major states. It's, yet again, another indictment of the blue states that followed the Fauci blueprint to economic disaster.

And make no mistake, this is a disaster.

No Accountability For Failure

The researchers compared the learning loss trainwreck to the 2008 recession, showing that the COVID response is responsible for substantially more damage than even that economic cycle. 

"The lopsided attention to the business-cycle losses from the 2008 recession and from the pandemic is startling once we see the comparable pandemic learning loss figures," they wrote. "The economic losses from the loss of human capital are fully six times the total losses from the 2008 recession, which was labeled the largest recession since the Great Depression."

Six times the total losses from the 2008 recession, already considered one of the worst in modern economic history. All because Fauci and his band of "experts" seized an opportunity to enforce their view of control onto society. And because they refused to admit failure when many were desperately trying to make them.

It's an inexcusable, historic set of decisions with lasting consequences both in soft cultural terms and harder economic ones. $31 trillion is the loss of GDP just from school closures. That doesn't even account for the loss of business income, the years-long set back in terms of new business, or the loss of GDP from adults who gave up on career plans or other pursuits out of despair or lack of opportunity.

The damage the "experts" caused is incalculable. But attempts to calculate it have come up with horrifying estimates. Noting that the state-sponsored system of the indoctrination of youth that is called “public education” (see Public Schools Are Fatal to Men and Their Nations), both supernatural and natural errors must continue to spread and become institutionalized in world governed by treachery rather than by the Social Reign of Christ the King as It must be exercised by Holy Mother Church and civil potentates who seek to advance the common temporal good in light of man's Last End, the possession of glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Heaven. 

By way of summary, therefore, it is important to remember, first, as has been noted throughout the “Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus” series since March 2020, there is no doubt concerning the fact that SARS-CoV-2 virus was the result of a “gain of function” program at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, Red China, that was funded in part by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Ever desirous to be subservient to the “sensitivities” of the Chinese Communist Party, many fellow travelers within the United States Central Intelligence Agency sought to defend their fellow Communist ideologues by attempting to bribe independent scientific analysts who had come to the conclusion with a just a “weak” level of confidence that the virus--whose spread was mismanaged, labeled a lethal threat when it was not so for most people if treated in the early stages, and the treatment of which became an excuse to use rigidly enforced medical protocols that caused the deaths of many of those who contracted it—that the virus had leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virolog

Second, the “vaccines” continue to injure and kill countless numbers of people. 

Human beings are being maimed and killed by “vaccines” that were developed under Donald John Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” to provide a supposed “preventative” for a bioengineered virus that was, as was documented throughout the “Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus” series, never as fatal to most of those who contracted it who did not suffer from preexisting comorbidities. Most, although certainly not all, of the people who were said to have died from the Wuhan Virus were actually the victims of the Anthony Fauci/Deborah Birx/Centers for Disease Control/World Health Organization rigid, cookie-cutter/boilerplate protocols that refused in most cases to provide the sort of early intervention that front line physicians such as Drs. Peter McCullough, Robert Malone, Peter Koury, and Joseph Mercola, among so many others, championed throughout the course of the scamdemic fearmongering by so-called “public health officials.” Stories emerged in 2020 and 2021 of eyewitness testimonies about the failure of such official protocols, which denied any investigation of an individual’s medical history and whether the prescribed courses of treatment would be beneficial to a patient after a thorough review of his health problems.

Third, evidence has now emerged that the tyrannical, murderous Chicom thugs deliberately released the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the Wuhan Institute of Virology to produce a global “pandemic” that would conform Western nations more closely to their own repressive form of social control, being aided and abetted in that effort by the so-called World Health Organization:

Fourth, the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention deliberately overinflated the number of deaths said to be attributable to the coronavirus to provide justification for the lockdowns, mask mandates, social distancing, and, ultimately, the vaccine mandates that have divided Americans even further than they have already been divided because of the anti-Incarnational errors of Modernity and turned the “vaccinated” but yet unprotected against the unvaccinated. Efforts to expose these truths have been met with a form of censorship worthy of Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong and, at the present time, Xi Jinping himself.

The people who say they want to “protect” democracy (a) do not know what a democracy is; (b) do not realize that we have a republican (representative) form of government; and (c) believe that “democracy,” whatever it is to them, excludes the voices of those who dissent from the pronouncements of the “enlightened” and completely unelected apparatchiks and supposed academics for whom it is considered to be a veritable act of “insurrection” to contradict with facts. 

Fifth, the saame United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention that overinflated the numbers of deaths caused by the coronavirus in 2020 (deaths caused by car accidents, accidental falls in private homes, cancer, chronic heart disease, diabetes, etc., were all said to be “Covid-related” deaths) is actively seeking to deflate the number of deaths and injuries caused by the vaccines and has made it extremely difficult for physicians and nurses to know how to report such injuries or deaths even if they can overcome the ingrained fear about what would happen to their professional lives if they did so.

Sixth, the “salvific” poisoned jabs called “vaccines” have created a new statistical category of “SADS”—Sudden Adult Death Syndrome—to accompany “SIDS” (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) as a means of obfuscating the fact the vaccines of one sort or another are responsible for both so-called syndromes.

The rash of sudden deaths and sudden collapses has become impossible for the censors of Big Pharm, Big Tech, and the Deep State to hide from the public view. There are more and more reports of these deaths and collapses, although it remains verboten for any mainslime reporter (or artificial intelligence-generators that write many “news” reports these days) even to hint that there is a direct connection between these deaths and collapses with the “vaccines” developed under former President Donald John Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, which has produced the truly warped consequences such as the one described in the following news report, which mentions the phenomenon of "sudden deaths" without identifying their cause:

Stefanie Smith, 41, was on American Airlines Flight 2790 from Punta Cana to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Feb. 28 when her health took a sudden turn, police said. 

She was given CPR on the plane and then the aircraft was diverted to the Turks and Caicos Islands, where she was taken to a local hospital but could not be saved.

Her cause of death has yet to be determined and those close to her say they are shocked by her unexplained death.

Smith's boyfriend was sitting next to her on the flight and said her eyes rolled back and she started convulsing, her friend Maria Yannotti, told ABC. Yannotti was also on the trip and traveled separately.

Yannotti said Smith's boyfriend initially thought she was joking around but soon realized she was in distress.

Then a doctor and nurses on board the plane helped administer CPR before the plane made an emergency landing in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory located in the southeast of the Bahamas.

Smith was vacationing with her boyfriend for five days and seemed healthy right before the flight, Yannotti said. 

"She loves going to the gym every day, even while we were in the Dominican. She made it a point to get up every morning to go to the gym and run on the beach."

Her brother, Chris Volz, told ABC he was not aware of his sister having any pre-existing health conditions.

Smith was the mother of two children, an 18-year-old son named Coen and 16-year-old daughter, Macee.

"She was a special person... Her kids really... love her a lot, and I know she loved them," Volz said. "And so it's tough."

A GoFundMe created for Smith’s children expressed the devotion Smith had for them.

"The love she shared with Coen and Macee cannot be measured or described in words."

"Also, her endless love for her family, friends, and community will leave a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her."

A woman who said she was Smith’s sister-in-law, also remembered her fondly.

"We are in disbelief and our hearts are broken," wrote Stephanie Quinn last week in response to a police statement about the incident.

Quinn described her sister-in-law as the only girl out of five siblings and the mother of two "beautiful children with big hearts and straight As."

Unexpected or, "excess," deaths, claimed 158,000 more Americans in the first nine months of 2023 than in the same period in 2019, according to a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).  (Indiana mother appeared fit and healthy before suddenly dying aboard AA flight.)

One of the saddest aspects of living in a world of treachery and deceit is that ordinary people are clueless to First and Last Things and are thus predisposed to accept every manner of moral evil, including fornication, adultery, sodomy, and gender mutilation, as well as to every manner of falsehoods repeated with such firmness by the scions of Deep State, Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Agriculture, Big Medicine, Big Media, and Big Law.

Donald John Trump and Jorge Mario Bergoglio, despite all their differences, are products of the errors let loose in the world by the Protestant Revolution against the Divine Plan that God Himself instituted to effect man's return to Him through the Catholic Church.

Writing in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885, Pope Leo XIII explained how errors of Protestantism quickly spread to the precincts of philosophy:

But that harmful and deplorable passion for innovation which was aroused in the sixteenth century threw first of all into confusion the Christian religion, and next, by natural sequence, invaded the precincts of philosophy, whence it spread amongst all classes of society. From this source, as from a fountain-head, burst forth all those later tenets of unbridled license which, in the midst of the terrible upheavals of the last century, were wildly conceived and boldly proclaimed as the principles and foundation of that new conception of law which was not merely previously unknown, but was at variance on many points with not only the Christian, but even the natural law. Our hope, as ever, comes from the events that are being commemorated this week of weeks, Holy Week, which begin to reach their climax with Tenebrae and the opening of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection. It was our treachery and deceit that, having transcended time, caused Our Lord to suffer at the hands of the Jews as He was mocked by the Roman pagans. Our Lord, though, forgives us each time we approach Him humbly in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance, and He has given us His Most Blessed Mother, she who is our Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate, as our very own Blessed Mother to send us all the graces He has won for us if only we beseech her to do so and then have the supernatural gift of Fortitude to make efficacious use of them for our own sanctification and salvation as well as that of everyone God, in His ineffable Holy Providence, chooses to put in our paths each day of our lives. 

Every Sorrowful Mystery of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary that we pray during this week of weeks, Holy Week, will help to unite us more fully to the sacred mysteries that we are commemorating solemnly for the next three days prior to the glories of Easter Sunday. 

Our Lord Himself sent His Most Blessed Mother to teach us that her Immaculate Heart would triumph in the end, and He told Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque the following in 1689:

Dom Prosper Gueranger on Wednesday in Holy Week

The Chief Priests and the Ancients of the people are met today, in one of the rooms adjoining the Temple, for the purpose of deliberating on the best means of putting Jesus to death. Several plans are discussed. Would it be prudent to lay hands upon him at this season of the Feast of the Pasch, when the City is filled with strangers who have received a favorable impression of Jesus from the solemn ovation given to him three days back? Then, too, are there not a great number of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who took part in that triumph, and whose enthusiastic admiration of Jesus might excite them to rise up in his defense? These considerations persuade them not to have recourse to any violent measure, at least for the present, as a sedition among the people might be the consequence, and its promoters, even were they to escape being ill-treated by the people, would be brought before the tribunal of the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate. They therefore come to the resolution of letting the Feast pass quietly over, before apprehending Jesus.

But these blood-thirsty men are making all these calculations as though they were the masters. They are, if they will, shrewd assassins, who put off their murder to a more convenient day, but the Divine decrees, which from all eternity, have prepared a Sacrifice for the world’s salvation, — have fixed this very year’s Pasch as the day of the Sacrifice, and, tomorrow evening, the holy City will re-echo with the trumpets, which proclaim the opening of the Feast. The figurative Lamb is now to make way for the true one; the Pasch of this year will substitute the reality for the type; and Jesus’ Blood, shed by the hands of wicked priests, is soon to flow simultaneously with that of victims, which have only been hitherto acceptable to God, because they prefigured the Sacrifice of Calvary. The Jewish priesthood is about to be its own executioner, by immolating Him, whose Blood is to abrogate the Ancient Alliance, and perpetuate the New one.

But how are Jesus’ enemies to get possession of their divine Victim, so as to avoid a disturbance in the City? There is only one plan that could succeed, and they have not thought of it: it is treachery. Just at the close of their deliberations, they are told that one of Jesus’ Disciples seeks admission. They admit him, and he says to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? They are delighted at this proposition: and yet, how is it that they, doctors of the law, forget that this infamous bargain between themselves and Judas has all been foretold by David in the 108th Psalm? They know the Scriptures from beginning to end—how comes it that they forget the words of the Prophet, who even mentions the sum of thirty pieces of silver. Judas asks them what they will give him; and they give him thirty pieces of silver! All is arranged: tomorrow, Jesus will be in Jerusalem, eating the Pasch with his Disciples. In the evening, he will go, as usual, to the Garden on Mount Olivet. But how shall they, who are sent to seize him, be able to distinguish him from his Disciples? Judas will lead the way; he will show them which is Jesus, by going up and kissing him!

How terrible is this our Defender, who tramples his enemies beneath his feet, as they that tread in the wine-press; so that their blood is sprinkled upon his garments! But is not this the fittest time for us to proclaim his power, now that he is being treated with ignominy, and sold to his enemies by one of his Disciples? These humiliations will soon pass away; he will rise in glory, and his might will be shown by the chastisements, wherewith he will crush them that now persecute him. Jerusalem will stone them that shall preach in his name; she will be a cruel step-mother to those true Israelites who, docile to the teaching of the Prophets, have recognized Jesus as the promised Messias. The Synagogue will seek to stifle the Church in her infancy; but no sooner shall the Church, shaking the dust from her feet, turn from Jerusalem to the Gentiles, than the vengeance of Christ will fall on the City, which bought, betrayed, and crucified him. Her citizens will have to pay dearly for these crimes. We learn from the Jewish historian Josephus (who was an eyewitness to the siege) that the fire which was raging in one of the streets, was quenched by the torrents of their blood. Thus were fulfilled the threats pronounced by our Lord against this faithless City, as he sat on Mount Olivet, the day after his triumphant Entry.

And yet the destruction of Jerusalem was but a faint image of the terrible destruction which is to befall the world at the last day. Jesus, who is now despised and insulted by sinners, will then appear on the clouds of heaven, and reparation will be made for all these outrages. Now he suffers himself to be betrayed, scoffed at, and spit upon; but when the day of vengeance is come, happy they that have served him and have compassionated with him in his humiliations and sufferings! Woe to them that have treated him with contempt! Woe to them who, not content with their own refusing to bear his yoke, have led others to rebel against him! For he is King; he came into this world that he might reign over it; and they that despise his Mercy, shall not escape his Justice.

Again it is Isaias that instructs us, not indeed upon the triumph which our Emmanuel is to win over his enemies, but upon the sufferings of the Man of Sorrows. So explicit is his description of our Lord’s Passion that the holy Fathers have called him the fifth Evangelist. What could be more sublimely plaintive than the language here used by the son of Amos? And we, after hearing both the Old and New Testament upon the sufferings which Jesus went through for our sins—how shall we sufficiently love this dear Redeemer, who bore our infirmities and carried our Sorrows, so as to look as a leper, and as one struck by God, and afflicted?

We are healed by his bruises! O heavenly Physician, that takes upon himself the sufferings of them he comes to cure! But not only was he bruised for our sins; he was also slaughtered as a lamb: and this not merely as a Victim submitting to the inflexible justice of his Father who hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all, but (as the Prophet here assures us) because it was his own will. His love for us, as well as his submission to his Father, led him to the great Sacrifice. Observe too how he refuses to defend himself before Pilate, who could so easily deliver him from his enemies: He shall be dumb as a lamb before his shearers, and he shall not open his mouth. Let us love and adore this divine Silence, which works our Salvation. Let us not pass over an iota of the devotedness which Jesus shows us—a devotedness which never could have existed, save in the Heart of a God. Oh! how much he has loved us—his children, the purchase of his Blood, his Seed, as the Prophet here calls us. O Holy Church! thou long-lived Seed of Jesus, that laid down his life!—thou art dear to him, for he bought thee at a great price. Faithful Souls! give him love for love! sinners! be converted to this your Savior; his Blood will restore you to life, for if we have all gone astray like sheep, remember what is added: The Lord hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all. There is no sinner, however great may be his crimes; there is no heretic, or infidel, who has not his share in this precious Blood, whose infinite merit is such that it could redeem a million worlds, more guilty even than our own.
