Jorge Always Indemnifies Today's Herods
As noted in yesterday’s republished reflection, the blood of the Holy Innocents was shed because a wicked, jealous Jewish puppet king of the Romans, Herod the Great, sought to snuff out the life of God in the very Flesh shortly after His Nativity.
Saint Jerome offered some reflections on Herod’s hatred of Christ the King that are contained in the readings for yesterday’s Divine Office:
He took the young Child, and His mother, and fled into Egypt, by night and in darkness; and the darkness of that night was a figure of the darkness of ignorance in which they left the unbelievers from whom they fled. But when they returned into Judaea, we learn not from the Gospel that it was by night, or in darkness; which is an image of that light which will lighten the Jews, when, at the end of the world, they shall receive back the faith, which now lighteneth the Gentiles, even as Judaea received Christ returning from Egypt.
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet, saying Out of Egypt have I called My Son. Those who go about to deny the authority of the Hebrew Scriptures, ask where any such passage is to be found in the Septuagint. But, although they find it not there, I tell them that the fact of its being written in the Prophet Hosea xi. i can be proved by the texts which I have lately published.
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the Prophet, saying; In Rama was there a voice heard, weeping and great mourning; Rachel weeping for her children. The child of Rachel was Benjamin, and Bethlehem is not a town belonging to his tribe. We must therefore seek another reason why Rachel should weep for the children of Judah, to whom Bethlehem belongeth, as for her own. The plain answer is that she is buried at Ephrath close to Bethlehem, and she is called Mother on account of the resting-place of her earthly tabernacle being there. It is possible also that she is called Mother because the tribes of Judah and Benjamin were joined together, and Herod slew not only all the children that were in Bethlehem, but also in all the coasts thereof. (Saint Jerome, as found in Matins, The Divine Office, Feast of the Holy Innocents.)
There are, of course, Herods plenty in the world today, and each of them is being indemnified by the Argentine Apostate, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, whose minions extended an invitation to a bevy of pro-abortion, pro-perversity public officials to speak at a Vatican-sponsored conference on “climate change” earlier this month. One of Bergoglio’s Argentine confederates in apostasy, “Bishop” Marcello Sanchez Sorondo, sent out a “tweet” (whatever they are) to praise the egregious Marxist, pro-abortion, pro-perversity Governor of the People’s Republic of California, Edmund Gerald “Jerry” Brown, Jr., as a true champion of the “dignity” of each person and of human freedom:
The Vatican gave a shout-out to California Gov. Jerry Brown Sunday, praising him for his war against climate change and his defense of human “dignity and freedom.”
In a Tweet from Casina Pio IV, the headquarters of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the Vatican called Brown a “true leader” while singling out the Democratic governor’s concern for “the good of the planet threatened by human activity that uses fossil fuel.”
More questionably, the message lauded Gov. Brown—a darling of Planned Parenthood and zealous advocate for abortion on demand—as a “leader who seeks the good of the people defending the dignity and freedom of each person.” The Tweet ends with a triple emoticon of human hands clasped in prayer.
The Vatican has twice offered Governor Brown a platform to preach his ideas, inviting him on two separate occasions to address an assembly of clerics and lay people on issues related to global warming.
Earlier this month, Brown delivered a keynote address at the Vatican in a meeting of the Pontifical Academy on climate change titled “Health of People, Health of Planet and our Responsibility: Climate Change, Air Pollution and Health.”
In open opposition to the Catholic Church’s defense of unborn children, Brown has been a passionate supporter of abortion-on-demand and has called himself “an uncompromising champion of a woman’s right to choose.” He also supports federal funding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, leading Planned Parenthood to refer to him as “the REAL pro-choice candidate for governor.”
Although as a young man Brown was a Catholic seminarian with the Jesuit order, he sees no contradiction between his Catholic credentials and his crusade for abortion.
The State of California accounts for a disproportionately high number of U.S. abortions, and although only 12 percent of the national population lives in the state, 29 percent of all the nation’s abortions take place there. This means that the abortion rate in California is well over twice that of the national average.
The Pontifical Academy for Science is run by Argentinian Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, who came under fire in May of 2016 for offering a Vatican platform to other known advocates of abortion and population control, like Jeffrey Sachs and UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon, as well as population hoaxer Paul Ehrlich.
When questioned about the decision to enlist speakers so divergent from Catholic teaching, Sánchez shifted the blame to the Tea Party and the oil industry, and suggested he was not responsible because “I am only the Chancellor.” (Vatican Extols Pro-Abortion Governor Jerry Brown as a True Leader Who Defends Human Dignity.)
Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo got one thing right: he is only the “chancellor” of the blaspheming heretic he serves, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who admires the likes of “Jerry” Brown and, among so many others, Andrew Mark Cuomo, the Governor of the Socialist Republic of New York. Jorge wants men such as Brown, Cuomo, Jeffrey Sachs, Paul Ehrlich, Ban Ki-moon and others, including those directly affiliated with the atheistic Jewish-born globalist billionaire, George Soros, to receive the official “blessing” of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. This is his way of denigrating everyone in public life who is “pro-life” and of setting an example for “conservative” “bishops” within the conciliar structures to stop praising the initiatives, no matter how flawed and partial they may be, of the administration of President Donald John Trump to limit the harm caused by the daily slaughter of the preborn. This is all the work of Antichrist as every single bit of it is anti-Christ.
In this regard, therefore, it must be remembered that “Pope Francis” invited an actual baby-killer at the Vatican as he praised her as a champion of human rights because of her work with “migrants.” The baby-killer is named Emma Bonino, a member of the Bilderberg Group and an associate of the aforementioned agent of Antichrist named George Soros, is the “Margaret Sanger of Italy. Yet it is that Senor Jorge praised her in 2016 as one of Italy’s “forgotten greats”:
He also named former foreign minister Emma Bonino, ex-Italian president Giorgio Napolitano, and Lampedusa Mayor Giusi Nicolini as the country's "forgotten greats" for their selfless dedication to building bridges with Africa, to serving Italy, and to upholding the rights of refugees. (See Jorge Praises Feminist Pro-Abortion Radical Emma Bonino as one of Italy’s “Great Ones”.)
Monsignore Ignacio Barreiro, the director of the Rome office of Human Life International, told LifeSiteNews.com the appointment is deeply concerning. “Some cabinet positions are token, but not the Foreign Minister,” he said.
In that position Bonino, a strong supporter of the “European Project” of a federalist European superstate, will have inordinate influence at the European and international level. “More than one diplomat is dismayed at having Bonino as their boss,” Barreiro added.
When the dust settled on Italy’s chaotic general election in February, the nation found itself with no government and a hung parliament. The crisis was not resolved until last week when Enrico Letta was confirmed as President of the Council of Ministers of Italy. His 22-member cabinet was sworn in on April 28th.
After her unsuccessful bid in 2010 for the governorship of Lazio, the region of the Roman capital, Bonino resurfaced in February this year, running for President of the Republic, supported by then-Prime Minister Mario Monti. After the re-election of Giorgio Napolitiano as head of state, many Italians were surprised to see her appointment as Foreign Minister.
Critics on the right have been perplexed by Bonino’s inclusion in the cabinet and in such a prominent post, saying that her inclusion is mark of “inconsistency” in the present government.
Bonino’s appointment, Barreiro said, is “a problem of coherence”. “If you look at the coalition that has voted to put her in, it’s made of Catholics,” he said.
A member of the International Bilderberg Group and a protégé of billionaire internationalist George Soros, Bonino was a Member of the European Parliament and of the Italian Senate, and served as Minister of International Trade from 2006 to 2008. She served on the executive committee of the International Crisis Group that created the International Criminal Court.
During her time as a Deputy, Bonino campaigned for loosening of divorce laws, and the legalization of abortion and drugs. As a leading anti-clericalist, she has been a fervent adversary of the influence of the Catholic Church in Italian politics.
The Italian Radical Party, to which Bonino belongs, has been a fixture on the extreme left of Italian politics since its founding in 1970s. Described as “libertarian” in the American model on economic issues, its social policies include support for abortion, same-sex “marriage,” legal euthanasia, artificial insemination, embryonic stem cell research, abolition of capital punishment and the legalization of “soft drugs.”
Msgr. Barreiro, a lawyer and former diplomat at the UN, noted that many in Italy have questioned the huge influence of the Radicals on politicians of other parties.
“The Radicals have an enormous influence but with very few votes. They have an undue ability to put pressure on other politicians that is totally disproportionate to their numbers,” he said.
Bonino’s past as an abortionist has not failed to keep up with her. An editorial in Romagiornale.it responded to her bid for the presidency in early April with, “A woman who has trampled all moral and juridical law, including the suppression of more than 10,000 lives, can fill the role of the highest office of the Italian State? This question is a must in the days of the end of the mandate of [President] Napolitano.”
(Bonino is an abortion worshipper and has admitted to conducting 10,141 abortions! Both links found at Novus Ordo Watch Wire Digest.)
That is quite an impressive pro-abortion resume, and one that can lead this poor woman to one place only if she does not repent before she dies: eternal damnation. Bergoglio may praise such a killer because of her alleged work with refugees, but such praise will damn them both to hell for all eternity as he, believing himself to be the Vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ on earth, has a duty to condemn her baby-killing, the debt of which she owes God, of course, is not canceled out by any good she may have done for “humanitarian” reasons.
Pro-aborts, pro-perverts such as Edmund Gerald “Jerry” Brown, Jr., have been so indemnified by the conciliar revolutionaries that they, who supports sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance, believe that it is the likes of President Donald John Trump who do not fear the wrath of God for their opposition to the globalist (Marxist) agenda of “global warming” and “climate change” that is just another excuse to increase the size of world governance and to limit the legitimate liberty of citizens:
California Gov. Jerry Brown said Sunday President Trump's apparent lack of fear "of the wrath of God" explains his denial of climate change.
"I don't think — President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility," Brown told CBS' "60 Minutes.”
"And, this is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed," he continued, referring to climate scientists who believe global warming is due to the burning of fossil fuels.
Brown, who is currently battling some of the worst wildfires in his state's history, said nature is not "a political game."
The governor, however, called on Trump to re-evaluate his decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accord, which he announced in June.
"The truth of the case is that there's too much carbon being emitted, that heat-trapping gasses are building up, the planet is warming and all hell is breaking loose," he said. "So I'd say to Mr. Trump, take a deeper look. Now is not the time to undo what every country in the world is committed to." (Governor Moonbeam Says That Trump Does Believe in Cliimate Change Because He Does Not Fear the Wrath of God.)
Well, let’s get this straight.
Edmund Gerald “Jerry” Brown, Jr., who is now in his fourth term as the Governor of the People’s Republic of California (his first term began as he succeeded Governor Ronald Wilson Reagan on January 6, 1975, and he served until January 3, 1983, starting his third term twenty-eight years later after stints as the Mayor of the City of Oakland, People’s Republic of California, and the Attorney General of the People’s Republic of California), has been a consistent supporter of the chemical and surgical assassination of preborn babies and of the sin of Sodom and all of the deviances associated with it. Indeed, he has shown himself willing to use the full force of California law to make baby-killing as easy as possible. And he thinks that Donald John Trump is going to face the wrath of God because of his withdrawal of the United States of America from the Paris Climate Accords?
Mind you, President Donald John Trump, who understands nothing about First and Last Things, may very well face the wrath of God over the life of moral reprobation that he has lived as a non-Catholic who has stated publicly that he has done nothing for which he has ever sought forgiveness. Donald John Trump, for whose conversion to the true Faith before he dies we must pray daily, will most assuredly not face the wrath of God for withdrawing the United States of America from the globalist agenda on “climate change.”
Governor Moonbeam, however, will have to face the wrath of God over measures such as these that have been with his full approval and support:
To many Catholics, Brown does not always appear to be the moderating force against legislative measures the Church opposes.
A week earlier, he signed into law two bills sought by Planned Parenthood that will allow nurse practitioners to perform abortions and reduce the building standards for abortion businesses.
On behalf of the California bishops, [retired auxiliary “bishop” of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles] Bishop [Gerald Eugene] Wilkerson reacted by stating, “We are disappointed that Gov. Brown has signed A.B. 154 and A.B. 980, which together dramatically increase the availability of abortion in California — the state in which 12% of Americans reside, but 29% of all the nation’s abortions occur.
“We oppose abortion, and until it becomes illegal, we will oppose measures which expand it — especially when it is at the expense of the girls and women undergoing the procedure.
“This change in the law will effectively create a two-tier health system. Physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives — with eight week’s training — can now perform first-trimester abortions in primary-care clinics not designed for surgery. Most of their clients will be women and girls who are poor, whereas women and girls with means will seek out physicians with surgical skills and hospital-admitting privileges for their abortions.”
Under another new law signed this year by Brown, S.B. 274, a child now can also have more parents than one father and one mother. Brown had vetoed a similar bill in 2012. The new law, authored by homosexual-rights activist and state Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, will allow courts to name a third parent if they think that not doing so would be detrimental to the welfare of a child.
The push for S.B. 274 law grew out of a 2011 court case about a same-sex female couple. While they were in a temporary separation, one partner had an affair with a male that resulted in the birth of a child. When the same-sex couple got back together, the non-biological partner was not recognized as a parent.
Brown also has approved a variety of measures to help immigrants, including one to allow undocumented immigrants to obtain California driver’s licenses (A.B. 60), while vetoing another that would allow them to serve on juries.
Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles praised the governor for signing the driving bill. “Driving is one of the basic necessities of life, so this new law is going to make a big difference for millions of people in their everyday lives. It will make it easier for them to get to work, to go to school, to go the store, to get to church. This bill will make our families, our communities and our economy stronger.”
Brown also signed A.B. 10, which will raise California’s minimum wage from the current $8 an hour to $10 in 2016. Catholic bishops have supported a responsible living wage.
Earlier this year, Brown vetoed A.B. 926, which would have allowed women to be paid for selling their eggs to stem-cell researchers.
But he also signed A.B. 1266, which will allow children to pick their own sexual identities, for use of restrooms and in sports programs and similar activities. (Space Cadet Brown Vetoes California Statues of Limitations Bill.)
Governor Brown, meet a true Successor of Saint Peter, Pope Pius XI:
Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven. (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 30, 1930.)
This applies to Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who is sixteen months older than the seventy-nine year-old Brown, and his band of unspeakably wretched conciliar revolutionaries.
The sin of Sodom?
Well, Governor Brown, meet Saint Paul the Apostle, whose canonical epistles were guided by the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, and another true Successor of Saint Peter, Pope Saint Pius V:
Wherefore God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use against which is their nature.
And in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.
And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy.
Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. (Romans 1: 24-32)
That horrible crime, on account of which corrupt and obscene cities were destroyed by fire through divine condemnation, causes us most bitter sorrow and shocks our mind, impelling us to repress such a crime with the greatest possible zeal.
Quite opportunely the Fifth Lateran Council [1512-1517] issued this decree: "Let any member of the clergy caught in that vice against nature . . . be removed from the clerical order or forced to do penance in a monastery" (chap. 4, X, V, 31). So that the contagion of such a grave offense may not advance with greater audacity by taking advantage of impunity, which is the greatest incitement to sin, and so as to more severely punish the clerics who are guilty of this nefarious crime and who are not frightened by the death of their souls, we determine that they should be handed over to the severity of the secular authority, which enforces civil law.
Therefore, wishing to pursue with the greatest rigor that which we have decreed since the beginning of our pontificate, we establish that any priest or member of the clergy, either secular or regular, who commits such an execrable crime, by force of the present law be deprived of every clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical benefit, and having been degraded by an ecclesiastical judge, let him be immediately delivered to the secular authority to be put to death, as mandated by law as the fitting punishment for laymen who have sunk into this abyss. (Pope Saint Pius V,Horrendum illud scelus, August 30, 1568.)
Death, not "brotherhood" and "mainstreaming" for the sake of "inclusivity," was what Pope Saint Pius V, faithful to the teaching of Saint Paul the Apostle in his Epistle to the Roman cited above, believed should be imposed on the clergy as well as the laity who were caught in "such an execrable crime" that caused him "such better sorrow" shocked his papal mind as he sought to "repress such a crime with the greatest possible zeal."
Jorge Mario Bergoglio and others in the conciliar structures want to provide "brotherhood" and "acceptance." Edmund Gerald Brown, Jr., even believes that clergy who are guilty of absuing minors should not have to worry about any extension of the statutes of limitations for the civil consequences of their moral crimes.
Pope Saint Pius V had just a slightly different approach, wouldn't you say?
A true pope understood the horror of such a detestable sin on the part of the clergy and sought to administer punishment to serve as a medicinal corrective for other priests and to demonstrate to the laity the horrific nature of such a moral crime.
A false “pope” seeks to appear as an agent of mercy when he is actually an apostle of eternal death.
Mind you, I am not suggesting the revival of this penalty in a world where it would not be understood and where the offender would be made a "martyr" for the cause of perversity, only pointing out the fact that the Catholic Church teaches that clerics and others in ecclesiastical authority who are guilty of serious moral crimes are deserving of punishment, not protection, by their bishops. Such is the difference yet again between Catholicism and conciliarism.
As we know, though, Jorge Mario Bergoglio has razed the last bastions of Catholicism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism to such an extent that hideous, unapologetic promoters of sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance receive the false “pope’s” “blessing” and approval because, we are told, protection of “creation” and full support for statism and globalism as means to “elevate” the “poor” are constitutive elements of being “pro-life.”
Bergoglio has thus indemnified the Herods of this world while at the same time ratifying and enlarging the “consistent ethic of life” (seamless garment) argument advanced by the late Joseph “Cardinal” Bernardin at Fordham University on December 6, 1983, that was meant to make it morally permissible for Catholics to vote for pro-aborts because they were for the “poor.”
A separate commentary, which is already many pages in length, will examine the Argentine Apostate’s support for the death-dealing version of “palliative care” advanced with the funding of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and George Soros (see Chronicling the Adversary's Global Takeover of the Healthcare Industry).
The Bernardin-Bergoglian approach to "life issues" contrasts, of course, very sharply with that of the true popes of the Catholic Church, who taught clearly and unequivocally that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. We do not speak in "non-religious" terms. We make proper Catholic distinctions when speaking about moral issues, remembering always to speak as Catholics at all times without ever dissenting from anything contained within the Deposit of Faith at any time for any reason, something that Pope Leo XIII made clear Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890:
The chief elements of this duty consist in professing openly and unflinchingly the Catholic doctrine, and in propagating it to the utmost of our power. For, as is often said, with the greatest truth, there is nothing so hurtful to Christian wisdom as that it should not be known, since it possesses, when loyally received, inherent power to drive away error. (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)
The very reason that contraception and abortion are part of our culture and protected by civil law is because the Protestant Revolution overthrew the Social Reign of Christ the King in the Sixteenth Century in many parts of Europe and the revolutions and movements inspired by the naturalism of Judeo-Masonry finished the job in the rest while creating entirely new nations elsewhere, such as in the United States of America, whose people were to celebrate religious "diversity" as a "protection" against tyranny and a "guarantee"of individual liberties rather than as the means by which the devil can propagate and then institutionalize Every Error Imaginable.
Always eager to find “common ground” between truth and error, Joseph Louis Bernardin even started what he called the “Common Ground Initiative” to produce “dialogue” between those who support unrestricted baby-killing on demand in all circumstances as a matter of “human rights” and a woman’s supposed “right to choose” (to kill a baby, of course!) and those who oppose such killing in all circumstances without exception.
There is no “common ground” between truth and error.
None. Truth must be proclaimed.
Those in error must be corrected.
Civil law that defies the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law has no binding force over men and must be opposed and defied, not accepted as “settled law” or made subject to “discussions.”
The truths of the moral law are non-negotiable.
Then again, the conciliar revolutionaries believe that everything contained in the Sacred Deposit of Faith is subject to “discussion,” “reflection” and “adaptation” according to alleged “pastoral needs” that, to recall the words uttered by Pope Pius XII to the Jesuits fifty-nine years ago, “would draw norms for action for eternal salvation from what is actually done, rather than from what should be done.”
Lest we become puffed up with pride, tough, we must ourselves have a very healthy fear of the Lord, without which we will become ready prey for the adversary’s wiles to entice us in committing sinful acts and then persisting in them without any fear of the wrath of God.
As the Book of Psalms reminds us:
[10] The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding to all that do it: his praise continueth for ever and ever. (Psalm 110:10.)
Truly, good readers, it is Jorge Mario Bergoglio and the pro-aborts and pro-perverts such as Edmund Gerald Brown, Jr., who lack a fear of the Lord by their pantheistic adoration of the created world while ignoring the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law as being irrelevant the good of souls and thus of well-ordered nations. They are without wisdom. They are fools.
As we continue to observe the joys of the Christmas Octave, may we beseech Our Lady, especially through her Most Holy Rosary, to plant some seeds for the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart and thus of the Social Reign of her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who was adored as the King of men and of nations by Saints Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar at the Epiphany.
May we adore our Baby King during this Christmas Octave as His consecrated slaves through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and thus endure the difficulties of the moment until we are able to retell our love for Him eternally in the presence of the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heaven.
