Forgettable Men Such as Christopher Ashley Wray Will Answer to Christ the King at the Particular Judgment

Each of us is going to face an exacting scrutiny of every single one of our thoughts, words, and actions when we face the Divine Judge, Christ the King, at the moment of the Particular Judgment, which is why a believing Catholic must make a nighty Examen of Conscience an integral part of their prayer lives before they go to sleep.

There are times, though, when Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shows His ineffable mercy to those who have engaged in publicly scandalous behavior and/or abused the authority given them to indemnify the innocent and to harass, persecute, and prosecute the innocent, including those who hold positions inimical to the high priests and priestesses and the Praetorian Guard of Modernity’s anti-Theistic, anti-Incarnational civil states.

Such is what has happened to the outgoing Director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, Christopher Wray, who aided and abetted the deliberate protection accorded to the Biden Family Crime Syndicate, authorized investigations into parents exercising their civic duties at school hearings as potential domestic terrorists, personally oversaw the Mar-A-Lago raid on  August 8, 2023, and had authorized the use of lethal force during that raid if agents saw fit to do so, failed to respond to legitimate oversight requests from Congressional committees or the members who served thereon, has been less than forthright about the targeting of traditional Catholics, such as me, who have been listed as leaders of “hate groups” by the Christophobic Southern Poverty Law Center, and personally authorized the arrest of peaceful pro-life protesters such as Mark Houck at gunpoint, when United States Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the Ranking Member of the Committee on the Judiciary of the United States Senate who will become once again the committee’s chairman on January 3, 2025, sent a letter itemizing Wray’s politicization of the FBI and the latter’s arrogant contempt of Congress.

Here are a few excerpts from Senator Grassley’s letter, which contains numerous footnotes, that resulted in Christopher Wray’s formal announcement that he intended to resign within the next month:

At the very beginning of your tenure as FBI Director, I presented you with evidence of the FBI’s failure to adequately investigate Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of highly classified information when she was Secretary of State, another example of federal law enforcement double standards.24  Consistent with that FBI failure, yet another glaring example of FBI’s broken promises under your leadership is its inexcusable failure to investigate bribery allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden, while strictly scrutinizing former President Trump.  You’ve repeatedly claimed you would ensure the FBI does justice, “free of fear, favor, or partisan influence.”25  The FBI under your watch, however, had possession of incriminating information against President Biden for three years until I exposed the existence of the record outlining those allegations, but did nothing to investigate it.26  This record, known as an FD-1023, documented allegations of bribery between and among then-Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden, and Ukrainian officials.27  The FBI confidential human source (CHS) behind this FD-1023 was on the FBI’s payroll during the Obama administration, paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, was given permission to violate the law, and the information he provided was used in prosecutions.  The FBI called this CHS “highly credible,” and Deputy Director Abbate publicly testified in response to the FBI’s refusal to remove obstructive redactions from that document that “[w]e often redact documents to protect sources and methods…the document was redacted to protect the source as everyone knows, and this is a question of life and death, potentially.”28  Then after the FD-1023 was made public – which didn’t include the source’s name –  DOJ not only publicly named him, but indicted him, calling into question the truthfulness of Deputy Director Abbate’s testimony and his refusal to be transparent.29  Still, to-date, the DOJ and FBI have neither answered whether they investigated the substance of the FD-1023, nor have they provided an explanation for any effort undertaken to obtain the financial records and other pieces of evidence referenced within the document.  This sounds a lot like Director Comey’s leadership of the FBI, which was nothing short of shameful.

As I noted on the Senate floor on February 27, 2024, if a highly regarded source had alleged President Trump accepted a bribe, the FBI would pursue this information without keeping it stored away in one of its dusty closets for three years.30  Actions speak louder than words, and in this regard FBI’s actions don’t just speak, they shout.  The FBI has shown itself all too willing to act against President Trump based upon sources lacking credibility, such as those behind the Steele Dossier.  This piece of dangerous foreign disinformation was created as a paid piece of opposition research for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.31  That partisan source and the failure of the FBI to vet the information didn’t stop the FBI, under the leadership of your predecessor, from offering it to the FISA court to obtain a warrant authorizing the FBI to spy on President Trump’s 2016 campaign.32  Moreover, because of my and Senator Johnson’s oversight, I exposed the fact that the FBI knew the Steele Dossier had credibility problems and was possibly part of a Russian disinformation campaign before it was used to obtain FISA warrant renewals.33  My and Senator Johnson’s oversight work also exposed the Steele Dossier was pushed by the FBI to be included in the Intelligence Community Assessment about Russian meddling in the 2016 election, despite concerns over its lack of verification.34  This is some of the most egregious, Orwellian conduct I’ve witnessed in my nearly 50 years in the Congress, and the rightful dismissal of Director Comey should’ve closed the book on such weaponization.  Unfortunately for the nation, it didn’t.

President Trump has been subjected to a continuing double standard, an area where your failed tenure is consistent with your predecessor’s.  While the FBI under your leadership turned a blind eye to information contained in the FD-1023 that was prejudicial to President Biden, FBI agents conducted an unprecedented raid of President Trump’s home in Florida to serve a warrant for records.35  In that raid, roughly 30 armed agents entered the home of a former president of the United States, with full authorization to use lethal force if needed to execute its warrant, and even searched the former First Lady’s clothing drawers.36  This raid occurred despite serious questions about the need for it.  President Trump apparently was cooperating with the investigation, notwithstanding liberal press reports.  He voluntarily turned over 15 boxes of documents months before the FBI’s drastic escalation.37  Further, on June 3, 2022, two months before the raid on Trump’s home, Jay Bratt, Chief of the Counterintelligence and Export Control Section of the DOJ’s National Security Division, accompanied by FBI agents, visited Trump at his MarA-Lago residence.  President Trump told the group, “I appreciate the job you’re doing,” and added, “[a]nything you need, let us know.”38  Bratt days later sent a letter to a Trump lawyer requesting placement of a stronger lock on the door where remaining records were kept “until further notice,” which was done.39  Following this, on June 22, 2022, the Trump organization complied with a subpoena for security footage taken at Mar-A-Lago, the last official action before FBI entered his home to execute a search warrant, treatment no former president has had to endure, which was approved under your leadership.40

No such raid took place at Hillary Clinton’s premises, even though she and her staff mishandled highly classified information while using a non-government server after repeated warnings from State Department security personnel it was a security risk, and despite the fact her associates destroyed potentially-incriminating evidence.41  Indeed, in an unheard of agreement that my oversight exposed, the FBI agreed to destroy records and laptops associated with Clinton’s staff after reviewing them, even though those records were potentially responsive to congressional investigations.42  No such raid occurred on the home of President Biden, even though his records were consciously divided up, some stored at his home in a garage next to his Corvette, others stored at the Penn Biden Center, and that still more classified records were found by his attorneys in the days following his initial admission that he absconded with highly classified documents that dated to over a period of decades.43  This is also despite the fact that it took the White House more than two months to publicly disclose that the classified documents had been found.44  I warned you after the Mar-a-Lago raid that it risked the credibility of the FBI, and it has done just that.45  A double standard in a nation that rightly boasts that “justice is blind” is no standard at all.

The FBI under your lack of leadership also served as an accomplice to the Democrats’ false information campaign designed to undermine my investigation of alleged Biden-family corruption.  On August 6, 2020, as Senator Ron Johnson and I were finishing our report on the Biden family’s financial connections to foreign governments and questionable foreign nationals, you succumbed to pressure from Democrats in Congress and provided an unnecessary briefing that Democratic leadership requested in an effort to falsely label our investigation as Russian disinformation.46  That briefing consisted of information we already knew and information that wasn’t connected to our Biden investigation.  We made clear at the time our concern that the briefing would be subject to a leak that would shed false light on the focus of our investigation.  Predictably, on May 1, 2021, the Washington Post did just that, falsely labeling our investigation as Russian disinformation.47 At the briefing, and many times following it, we requested records documenting what happened at the briefing, its intelligence basis, and the personnel involved in making the decision to brief us.  The FBI has consistently failed to fully respond to these requests, which were critical to ensure FBI didn’t knowingly or willingly use the briefing for partisan purposes.48  To this day, because of the FBI’s lack of transparency, we still don’t know what the basis was for the briefing and have been prevented from questioning the briefers. (Chris Wray Has Failed His Fundamental Duties as FBI Director.)

If these examples aren’t enough to make my point, there are many more to offer.  For more than a year-and-a-half, the FBI has failed to be responsive to repeated requests, again addressed to you, asking for information about the outrageous memo prepared by analysts in the FBI’s field office in Richmond, Virginia.  That memo struck fear in believers across the country by purporting, without anything other than biased, discredited sources like the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), to tie faithful Christians to violent extremism.49  Shortly after a whistleblower disclosed the notorious memo to the public, I requested FBI provide answers, backed up by records.50  The FBI in its paltry response deflected on the basis it was conducting an internal investigation of the incident.51  Little did FBI leadership know the final “strategic review report” conducted by the FBI’s Inspection Division would be produced to Congress the next year, on February 9, 2024, as the FBI was later directed to produce it by the Explanatory Statement on the Intelligence Authorization Act for FY 2024.52  That internal report declared that “the [Inspection Division] completed its strategic review” and provided the review’s findings.  It was date stamped April 17, 2023, the day before the FBI’s April 18, 2023, letter to me claiming the internal review was still “ongoing” as an excuse not to answer my questions.53  It appears the FBI actively misled and obstructed congressional oversight.

In the case of the Richmond memo, my oversight continued throughout the remainder of 2023 and has continued since, with my office urging FBI to provide more information on the memo and the internal review.  FBI waited until late September 2023, which we now know was more than five months past the review’s completion, to even brief Senate staff on its findings.54  I later led seven of my colleagues in a letter raising deep concerns on the content of that internal review and your testimony before Congress that the Richmond incident was about, “a product by one field office” and “a single product by a single field office.”55  Once redactions were lifted from the memo in a version provided to the House Judiciary Committee, it was apparent FBI had redacted information from the memo related to input received on the memo from two other FBI field offices, calling into question the veracity of your claim that the memo was the product of a “single field office.”  You later defended your testimony when I confronted you with the contradiction by saying the input from other offices was limited to verifying a couple of sentences in the memo.56  Nonetheless, you failed in that exchange to answer why the FBI redacted information about the involvement of other field offices in versions of the memo provided to Congress and whether you had reviewed the memo before you testified that it was the product of a “single field office.”  Information about the involvement of other offices was highly material to the memo’s production, and you should have revealed it to the Senate when testifying on the topic.

Even more troubling was your testimony the Richmond incident involved “a single product.”  Congress later discovered this claim was indisputably false or at least materially misleading, and neither you nor the FBI to this date has answered my request to explain your testimony.  The FBI later revealed the existence of an external memo to me in a single passing line in its October 27, 2023, response, with no explanation, that an “external Strategic Perspective Executive Analytical Report (SPEAR) product [was created] on the same topic.”57   According to staff present at the FBI’s September 2023 briefing, FBI withheld this information about the production of a second, external memo.58  A later House Judiciary Committee report confirmed that a second product was drafted by the Richmond analysts on the same topic as the internal Richmond memo, and was reviewed by the Counterterrorism Division in FBI headquarters for planned dissemination throughout the FBI.59  Based on the revelation that the Richmond memo was not a solitary product, I led fifteen of my Senate colleagues in yet another appeal for transparency.60  Rather than come clean, the FBI waited nearly seven more months to respond, until August 15, 2024, and after I confronted you on portions of your testimony in a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on December 5, 2023.61  The FBI’s embarrassing August 2024 response failed to answer any of the points I raised in my January 2024 letter and ignored my request for a clarification of your misleading testimony.62  To this day, you’ve failed to clear up your testimony, even after being questioned by many members of the Senate – a state of affairs completely unacceptable for one of the nation’s premier law enforcement agencies.  The FBI’s response also ignored the request of sixteen senators for additional information on the permanent deletion of files related to the memo, which was ordered by Deputy Director Abbate.63  In a call my staff had with the FBI on August 27, 2024, a Bureau official assured my office that these files are recoverable and could be provided, and that she would follow up with my office.64  She hasn’t done so.  This continuous mule-headed war against transparency again violates your solemn promises made under oath when you were nominated.

While your failure to fulfill your duty regarding the multiple examples above is sufficient reason to question your continued tenure as director, your broken promise to protect whistleblowers and be transparent about that protection is a final straw on the camel’s back.  The FBI’s silence in response to my requests that you protect whistleblowers is completely unacceptable.  As I said, you promised at your confirmation hearing to do so.65  Protecting these brave patriots has been a priority of mine throughout my nearly-50-years of service in the U.S. Congress.  Yet my pleas to you on their behalf, just like my many oversight requests, have fallen on deaf ears.  On July 18 of last year, nearly seventeen months ago, I led twenty-two of my colleagues in a letter asking you to commit that no taxpayer money would be used to retaliate against brave whistleblowers who provided information about the Biden family.66  Despite your pledge to protect them, you’ve failed to commit to this minimal and basic protection I requested.  This shouldn’t be controversial at all, but despite the small ask, you’ve failed for nearly a year-and-a-half to even reply.  (Chris Wray Has Failed His Fundamental Duties as FBI Director.)

I’ve given quite a few examples here, but other examples of blatant failures throughout your tenure abound.  The FBI for years has failed to update me on the status of criminal referrals I made related to individuals who made materially false statements and obstructed the work of the Judiciary Committee and my investigative staff during the Committee’s consideration of the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to be an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court;77 it’s failed for over two years to adequately answer my inquiries into the DOJ and FBI’s targeting of pro-life activists like Mark Houck, and the heavy-handed at-gunpoint raid against him;78 it’s failed to respond to my March 2024 inquiry about the support FBI provided Project Thor, a successful ATF anti-cartel program defunded by the Biden DOJ, and what efforts FBI is taking to stop firearms trafficking to Mexico;79 it’s failed to respond to my inquiry to DOJ and FBI in October of this year asking why it took so long to indict and arrest a man who made violent threats against Judge Aileen Cannon after she dismissed charges against President Trump related to his handling of classified information;80 it’s failed to respond to my inquiry from May of this year asking about whistleblower allegations that the Obama-Biden State Department obstructed the FBI from making arrests of high-risk targets providing support to Iran for their nuclear and ballistic missile programs;81 it’s failed to answer my letter from July of this year asking the DOJ and FBI to keep me updated on the ongoing investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Trump;82 it’s failed to update me on the status of a criminal referral I made to FBI in January of this year related to likely child trafficking through the Biden-Harris Office of Refugee Resettlement at the Department of Health and Human Services;83 it’s failed for over a year-and-a-half to respond to my April 2023 request for records related to news reports you commandeered your FBI private jet to avoid spending time in traffic;84 it’s failed for six years to provide a full response to my inquiry into the FBI’s investigation of the shooting of an unarmed man sitting in his car;85 it’s also failed, despite promises, to provide sufficient transparency about the FISA query process, with names of politicians and names of 19,000 donors to a congressional campaign and individuals arrested at social justice protests being improperly searched, and thousands of FISA protocol violations reported by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.86  The list goes on and on. (Chris Wray Has Failed His Fundamental Duties as FBI Director. Also see Hours After Withering Grassley Letter, FBI Director to Resign: Report.)

Mind you, this exhaustive—indeed, withering—litany of abuses committed under Christopher Ashley Wray’s directorship of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is really insignificant when one considers what we will be subjected to at the Moment of the Particular Judgment. Unlike the arrogance exhibited by James Brien Comey, Wray’s predecessor, and by Wray himself when faced with their misdeeds, no one, included Comey and Wray, Biden and family, the Clintons, the Muellers, the Weissmans, the Schiffs, the Schumers, Pelosis, the Rankins, the Braggs, the Hochuls, the Laetitia James cabal, the Faucis, the Mayorkas ilk, the Clintons, the Obamas, the Bushes, and even Trump himself, who is content to let the baby-killing pill continue to kill babies (see Trump uses NBC News interview to defuse panicky liberal fearmongering, teases sweeping agenda)    as he contends that the issue of baby-killing is to be determined by the mutable will of the people", will be able to ignore the exacting scrutiny of their lives when they die. (See the Appendix for a reprise of Saint Alphonsus de Ligouri’s sermon about the Particular Judgment.)

Similarly, those, such as United States Senator Elizabeth Pocahontas Warren (D-Masachusetts),  who are rationalizing, if not hailing, Luigi Mangione’ assassination of United Healthcare Chief Executive Officer Brian Thompson as “understandable” (see Elizabeth Warren outrageously sympathizes with UnitedHealthcare CEO killer: 'People can only be pushed so far') will be able to withstand the just Judgment of God upon their immortal souls for indemnifying the chemical and surgical assassination of the innocent preborn, an indemnification that leads directly to the dehumanization of anyone and everyone who is deemed guilty in their eyes of being culpable for injustices, whether real or imagined as these enablers of evil are the very embodiment of the following words of Pope Leo XIII in Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884:

If those who are admitted as members are not commanded to abjure by any form of words the Catholic doctrines, this omission, so far from being adverse to the designs of the Freemasons is more useful for their purposes. First, in this way they easily deceive the simple-minded and the heedless, and can induce a far greater number to become members. Again, as all who offer themselves are received whatever may be their form of religion, they thereby teach the great error of this age — that a regard for religion should be held as an indifferent matter, and that all religions are alike. This manner of reasoning is calculated to bring about the ruin of all forms of religion, and especially of the Catholic religion, which, as it is the only one that is true, cannot, without great injustice, be regarded as merely equal to other religions.

17. But the naturalists go much further; for, having, in the highest things, entered upon a wholly erroneous course, they are carried headlong to extremes, either by reason of the weakness of human nature, or because God inflicts upon them the just punishment of their pride. Hence it happens that they no longer consider as certain and permanent those things which are fully understood by the natural light of reason, such as certainly are — the existence of God, the immaterial nature of the human soul, and its immortality. The sect of the Freemasons, by a similar course of error, is exposed to these same dangers; for, although in a general way they may profess the existence of God, they themselves are witnesses that they do not all maintain this truth with the full assent of the mind or with a firm conviction. Neither do they conceal that this question about God is the greatest source and cause of discords among them; in fact, it is certain that a considerable contention about this same subject has existed among them very lately. But, indeed, the sect allows great liberty to its votaries, so that to each side is given the right to defend its own opinion, either that there is a God, or that there is none; and those who obstinately contend that there is no God are as easily initiated as those who contend that God exists, though, like the pantheists, they have false notions concerning Him: all which is nothing else than taking away the reality, while retaining some absurd representation of the divine nature.

18. When this greatest fundamental truth has been overturned or weakened, it follows that those truths, also, which are known by the teaching of nature must begin to fall — namely, that all things were made by the free will of God the Creator; that the world is governed by Providence; that souls do not die; that to this life of men upon the earth there will succeed another and an everlasting life.

19. When these truths are done away with, which are as the principles of nature and important for knowledge and for practical use, it is easy to see what will become of both public and private morality. We say nothing of those more heavenly virtues, which no one can exercise or even acquire without a special gift and grace of God; of which necessarily no trace can be found in those who reject as unknown the redemption of mankind, the grace of God, the sacraments, and the happiness to be obtained in heaven. We speak now of the duties which have their origin in natural probity. That God is the Creator of the world and its provident Ruler; that the eternal law commands the natural order to be maintained, and forbids that it be disturbed; that the last end of men is a destiny far above human things and beyond this sojourning upon the earth: these are the sources and these the principles of all justice and morality.

If these be taken away, as the naturalists and Freemasons desire, there will immediately be no knowledge as to what constitutes justice and injustice, or upon what principle morality is founded. And, in truth, the teaching of morality which alone finds favor with the sect of Freemasons, and in which they contend that youth should be instructed, is that which they call “civil,” and “independent,” and “free,” namely, that which does not contain any religious belief. But how insufficient such teaching is, how wanting in soundness, and how easily moved by every impulse of passion, is sufficiently proved by its sad fruits, which have already begun to appear. For, wherever, by removing Christian education, this teaching has begun more completely to rule, there goodness and integrity of morals have begun quickly to perish, monstrous and shameful opinions have grown up, and the audacity of evil deeds has risen to a high degree. All this is commonly complained of and deplored; and not a few of those who by no means wish to do so are compelled by abundant evidence to give not infrequently the same testimony.

20. Moreover, human nature was stained by original sin, and is therefore more disposed to vice than to virtue. For a virtuous life it is absolutely necessary to restrain the disorderly movements of the soul, and to make the passions obedient to reason. In this conflict human things must very often be despised, and the greatest labors and hardships must be undergone, in order that reason may always hold its sway. But the naturalists and Freemasons, having no faith in those things which we have learned by the revelation of God, deny that our first parents sinned, and consequently think that free will is not at all weakened and inclined to evil.[13] On the contrary, exaggerating rather the power and the excellence of nature, and placing therein alone the principle and rule of justice, they cannot even imagine that there is any need at all of a constant struggle and a perfect steadfastness to overcome the violence and rule of our passions.

Wherefore we see that men are publicly tempted by the many allurements of pleasure; that there are journals and pamphlets with neither moderation nor shame; that stage-plays are remarkable for license; that designs for works of art are shamelessly sought in the laws of a so-called verism; that the contrivances of a soft and delicate life are most carefully devised; and that all the blandishments of pleasure are diligently sought out by which virtue may be lulled to sleep. Wickedly, also, but at the same time quite consistently, do those act who do away with the expectation of the joys of heaven, and bring down all happiness to the level of mortality, and, as it were, sink it in the earth. Of what We have said the following fact, astonishing not so much in itself as in its open expression, may serve as a confirmation. For, since generally no one is accustomed to obey crafty and clever men so submissively as those whose soul is weakened and broken down by the domination of the passions, there have been in the sect of the Freemasons some who have plainly determined and proposed that, artfully and of set purpose, the multitude should be satiated with a boundless license of vice, as, when this had been done, it would easily come under their power and authority for any acts of daring. . . .

23. That these doctrines are equally acceptable to the Freemasons, and that they would wish to constitute States according to this example and model, is too well known to require proof. For some time past they have openly endeavored to bring this about with all their strength and resources; and in this they prepare the way for not a few bolder men who are hurrying on even to worse things, in their endeavor to obtain equality and community of all goods by the destruction of every distinction of rank and property.

24. What, therefore, sect of the Freemasons is, and what course it pursues, appears sufficiently from the summary We have briefly given. Their chief dogmas are so greatly and manifestly at variance with reason that nothing can be more perverse. To wish to destroy the religion and the Church which God Himself has established, and whose perpetuity He insures by His protection, and to bring back after a lapse of eighteen centuries the manners and customs of the pagans, is signal folly and audacious impiety. Neither is it less horrible nor more tolerable that they should repudiate the benefits which Jesus Christ so mercifully obtained, not only for individuals, but also for the family and for civil society, benefits which, even according to the judgment and testimony of enemies of Christianity, are very great. In this insane and wicked endeavor we may almost see the implacable hatred and spirit of revenge with which Satan himself is inflamed against Jesus Christ. — So also the studious endeavor of the Freemasons to destroy the chief foundations of justice and honesty, and to co-operate with those who would wish, as if they were mere animals, to do what they please, tends only to the ignominious and disgraceful ruin of the human race.

The evil, too, is increased by the dangers which threaten both domestic and civil society. As We have elsewhere shown, in marriage, according to the belief of almost every nation, there is something sacred and religious; and the law of God has determined that marriages shall not be dissolved. If they are deprived of their sacred character, and made dissoluble, trouble and confusion in the family will be the result, the wife being deprived of her dignity and the children left without protection as to their interests and well being. — To have in public matters no care for religion, and in the arrangement and administration of civil affairs to have no more regard for God than if He did not exist, is a rashness unknown to the very pagans; for in their heart and soul the notion of a divinity and the need of public religion were so firmly fixed that they would have thought it easier to have city without foundation than a city without God. Human society, indeed for which by nature we are formed, has been constituted by God the Author of nature; and from Him, as from their principle and source, flow in all their strength and permanence the countless benefits with which society abounds. As we are each of us admonished by the very voice of nature to worship God in piety and holiness, as the Giver unto us of life and of all that is good therein, so also and for the same reason, nations and States are bound to worship Him; and therefore it is clear that those who would absolve society from all religious duty act not only unjustly but also with ignorance and folly. (Pope Leo XIII, Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884.)

Every single word of the passages quoted above apply even more to our own times than they did when Pope Leo XIII wrote them one hundred forty years ago.

Yet it is that many Catholics all across and up and down the vast expanse of the ecclesiastical divide that exists during this time of apostasy and betrayal continue to believe that the antidote to the horrors of the false opposite of the naturalist left is to found in one or another variations of the false opposite of the naturalist right even though most everyone in both camps are united in the false belief that Special Creation of man by God, man’s fall from Original Innocence when Adam and Eve brought Original Sin into the world, the Incarnation of the Word Who was made Flesh and dwelt amongst us in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of His Most Blessed Mother by the power of God the Holy Ghost at the Annunciation, His Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension to His Co-Equal, Co-Eternal God the Father’s right hand in glory on Ascension Thursday are matters not only of complete indifference to civil affairs but as obstacles to a false concept of civil peace.

The conciliar revolutionaries have hidden under their Judeo-Masonic influences under the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions, the craving, especially pronounced at this time, to reconcile the Gospel with the precepts of Judeo-Masonic naturalism’s world view as they have attempted to reconcile “Christ and Belial, the Church of God and state without God. These wicked men celebrate sin in the name of a false “mercy”, and they praise the programs of elected officials and unelected apparatchiks whose final goal is the cosmic transhumanism of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

While the likes of Christopher Wray and the anti-democratic, anti-justice purveyors with the Federal Bureau of Investigation who have run a protection racket for the Obamas, the Clintons, and the Bidens while serving as that aforementioned Praetorian Guard against whistleblowers from within their own ranks, pro-life Americans, parents who dissent from the pro-perversity agenda as found within the ideological indoctrination camps called public schools, to debank opponents of the regime, and act against the person, property, liberty, and to thwart political agenda, if not the  physical life, of former and future President Donald John Trump will never face a jury of their peers as no trial that would take within or around the District of Columbia would be constituted by anything other than reflexive supporters of everything opposed to truth and justice and will not even be shamed when the inevitable Congressional reports and tell-all books are published, they will have to reckon with Christ the King when they die even though they may be entirely unaware of this fact.

Sadly, though, anyone who is reading this commentary who thinks that these abuses will come to end during the second administration of President Donald John Trump might be very disappointed to discover that his current nominee to be the Attorney General of the United States of America, Pamela Bondi, is an uber-Zionist who believes that those speak of the ongoing genocide of innocent Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli Defense Force must be censored:

The Bondi appointment as America’s attorney general is especially noteworthy. Trump’s first selection for this position was Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. But after being announced as America’s next attorney general, the Zionist news media and political lobbyists pounced into action. You see, Gaetz is one of the very few members of Congress who is not on the Israel lobby payroll. The result: It only took a matter of days for Gaetz to be forced to withdraw his name from the nomination.

Enter Pam Bondi.

Bondi is a rabid, pro-Zionist zealot. She is also a radical anti-Bill of Rights zealot—especially the First Amendment. Bondi (along with Department of Homeland Security nominee Kristi Noem) has every intention of stomping out the freedom of speech in the U.S.—especially that speech which denounces the ongoing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon and which supports Palestinian statehood.

In his interview with Max Blumenthal, Judge Nap and Max had this exchange regarding Bondi:

Napolitano: Aaron {Maté} and I have discussed at length the assaults on free speech by the Biden Administration, by members of Congress, like Elise Stefanic, as an example, who’s slated to become Trump’s Ambassador to the UN. I think you’ll agree with me that this is about to get worse.

Here is Pam Bondi, the designated to-be Attorney General of the United States, suggesting that demonstrators on college campuses should be deported at worst or interrogated by FBI agents at best.

Bondi video: Whether they’re here as Americans or if they’re here on student visas, and they’re out there saying, “I support Hamas,” you and I have seen that on all of these television shows. Frankly, they need to be taken out of our country, or the FBI needs to be interviewing them right away when they’re saying, “I support Hamas,” “I am Hamas.” That’s not saying, “I support all these poor Palestinians who are trapped in Gaza.” That’s not what they’re saying. So, I think their student visas need to be revoked. I think we need to reinstate President Trump’s travel ban immediately. There’s a lot of things that can be done to stop this. The anti-Semitism that is rampant throughout this country now. And it’s truly, truly heartbreaking to see what’s happening to all of our Jewish friends in this country.

Napolitano: So, this woman who’s about to become the head of the Justice Department, and indirectly the head of the FBI, believes that, the First Amendment notwithstanding, the government can evaluate the content of speech and decide which political speech is worthy of praise, which is worthy of interrogation, and which is worthy of kicking people out of the country. Worse than anything Joe Biden’s DOJ ever imagined.

Blumenthal: Well, the Biden DOJ has helped set the stage for this. But let’s look at how Pam Bondi came into the position as Trump’s Attorney General nominee.

It was the downfall of Matt Gaetz, one of the few members of Congress who has not taken Israel Lobby money, who actually voted against one of the major aid supplementals to Israel, along with other members of the Freedom Caucus, mainly because it also was linked to Ukraine aid. But he did it. Matt Gaetz went down mainly because of this bizarre background he has and this saga that involved apparently sexual blackmail.

And Pam Bondi comes in. She’s welcomed by CNN. It appears Senate Democrats will let her slide through. She’s been a longtime corporate lobbyist for GM, Amazon, Uber and even Gulf monarchies. She’s a corporate tool, and so that’s why she’ll sail through.

But also, in the last hours of Matt Gaetz as AG nominee, the American Jewish Committee and Anti-Defamation League condemned him as an antisemite. And Pam Bondi appears; someone with a very clear record working under Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who said he’ll be the most pro-Israel governor in America, of shilling for Israel and advancing Israel’s objectives politically and legally inside the United States on behalf of Tel Aviv, crushing the First Amendment and the rights of students and other Americans to organize against this genocide.

And what I think we’re going to see happen, and this is an agenda that’s been spelled out in the Heritage Foundation’s Project Esther, which was actually largely written by Christian Right activists, Christian Zionists, is to seek terrorism designations for groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine, the groups leading the demonstrations in the streets, and then to begin to actually prosecute them and de-bank their activists going to places like PayPal, Venmo and ordering them basically to block transactions of anyone who’s leading Palestine solidarity activity. I mean this is all spelled out. And Bondi seems to be the perfect person to advance this authoritarian, anti-freedom, unamerican agenda on behalf of Netanyahu and the Israeli apartheid regime.

Napolitano: Is there anybody in Trump’s cabinet that’s not an ardent Zionist?

Blumenthal: I mean yeah; it’s MIGA; it’s make Israel great again.

And I would like to ask Ms. Bondi what exactly is “truly, truly heartbreaking what’s happening to all of our Jewish friends in this country”? Are Jews in America being starved to death with blockades that deny them food and medicine? Are Jewish hospitals, schools and synagogues in America being bombed to smithereens by the nation’s military? Are Jewish children in America being shot dead in the head by army snipers? Are Jewish homes in America being bulldozed to the ground? Are tens of thousands of innocent Jewish men, women, children and babies being slaughtered like animals because of their race?

Give it up, Ms. Bondi. You are nothing but a Zionist hack, bought and paid for by the Israel lobby. There’s another word I could use to describe you and the rest of the bought-and-paid-for toadies of the Israel lobby in Washington, D.C. But you Zionist sycophants in D.C. are worse than those whom the word I could use describes; so, I won’t use it.

Let me also remind readers that during Trump’s first four-year term, he appointed more CFR/Bilderbergers than Barack Obama did during his eight years in office.

In addition, Tim Brown chronicles the massive number of billionaires that Trump is appointing to his administration. Brown reports:

So far, Trump has announced plans to nominate billionaire hedge fund manager Scott Bessent to head the Treasury Department, WWE billionaire Linda McMahon to head the Education Department, billionaire crypto banker Howard Lutnick to head the Commerce Department, and billionaire entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to head the Department of Government Efficiency—an outside advisory commission tasked with slashing federal spending and regulations.

“These appointments clearly show the incoming administration will be run by and for the ultra-wealthy,” said David Kass, ATF’s executive director. “They’ve already announced plans to spend trillions of dollars to renew the Trump tax bill, to further enrich large corporations and wealthy elites like themselves while advocating for cuts to vital programs that working and middle-class Americans depend on.”

ATF’s analysis, released Monday, shows that the combined wealth of Trump’s richest nominees and transition team members—including the president-elect and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the vice president-elect—is over $313 billion. By comparison, the combined net worth of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet is an estimated $118 million.

“Even excluding Elon Musk—the world’s richest man and Trump’s co-director of the Department of Government Efficiency—the average net worth of Trump, his vice president, and top appointees is $616 million,” ATF observed.

Tony Carrk, executive director of Accountable.US, said in a statement Tuesday that “Donald Trump paid plenty of lip service to working-class Americans” during the 2024 campaign, “but as president-elect, he’s moved quickly to stack his administration with billionaires that share his vision of a rigged economy that only works for people like them.”

“Should the Senate rubber stamp these nominations,” Carrk added, “Trump’s department heads will be among the biggest beneficiaries of another promised tax giveaway for big corporations and the top 1%, paid for with deep cuts for seniors, veterans, and everyday workers.”

Billionaires have already gotten significantly richer since Trump’s election victory, according to research published last week by ATF. In roughly the week after Trump’s win, the combined net worth of the nation’s 815 billionaires jumped by around $280 billion—with Musk’s wealth surge accounting for 20% of that gain.

Anyone who thinks that a government led by neocons, Zionist warmongers, CFR globalists and billionaires is going to make America great again is living in a fantasy land. (Chuck Baldwin, Trump Picks a War Cabinet.)

What Mr. Baldwin, is a rock-ribbed Calvinist, does not understand, however, is the no country can be made great, either again or for the first time, if its people and those they elect to serve them in various elected offices do not pursue the common temporal good in light of man’s Last End, the possession of the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heven. No country can be made great, either again or for the first time, if men and their nations do not submit themselves to the Social Reign of Christ the King as it must be exercised by His Holy Catholic Church.

Until this happens, therefore, even Catholics will be distracted during holy seasons such as Advent, Lent, and Easter by the dog and pony shows that the false opposites of naturalism keep producing, whether wittingly or unwittingly, at the behest of the adversary, who wants to continue to keep men looking for salvation in all the wrong places, much as the Jews of Our Lord’s time and their Talmudic successors today, except the cradle in the stable in the cave in Bethlehem, the Holy Cross, and the Empty Tomb.

Saint Alphonsus de Liguori on the Particular Judgment

BELOVED Christians, of all the goods of nature, of fortune, and of grace, which we have received from God, we are not the masters, neither can we dispose of them as we please; we are but the administrators of them; and therefore we should employ them according to the will of God, who is our Lord. Hence, at the hour of death, we must render a strict account of them to Jesus Christ, our Judge. ”For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body as he hath done, whether it be good or evil." (2 Cor. v. 10.) This is the precise meaning of that”give an account of thy stewardship," in the gospel of this day. ”You are not," says St. Bonaventure, in his comment on these words, ”a master, but a steward over the things committed to you; and therefore you are to render an account of them." I will place before your eyes Today the rigour of this judgment, which shall be passed on each of us on the last day of our life. Let us consider the terror of the soul, first, when we shall be presented to the Judge; secondly, when she shall be examined; and thirdly, when she shall be condemned.

First Point. Terror of the soul when she shall be presented to the Judge.

"It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment." (Heb. ix. 27.) It is of faith that we shall die, and that after death a judgment shall be passed on all the actions of our life. Now, what shall be the terror of each of us when we shall be at the point of death, and shall have before our eyes the judgment which must take place the very moment the soul departs from the body? Then shall be decided our doom to eternal life, or to eternal death. At the time of the passage of their souls from this life to eternity, the sight of their past sins, the rigour of God’s judgment, and the uncertainty of their eternal salvation, have made the saints tremble. St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzia trembled in her sickness, through the fear of judgment; and to her confessor, when he endeavoured to give her courage, she said: "Ah! father, it is a terrible thing to appear before Christ in judgment." After spending so many years in penance in the desert, St. Agatho trembled at the hour of death, and said: ”What shall become of me when I shall be judged ?" The venerable Father Louis da Ponte was seized with such a fit of trembling at the thought of the account which he should render to God, that he shook the room in which he lay. The thought of judgment inspired the venerable Juvenal Ancina, Priest of the Oratory, and afterwards Bishop of Saluzzo, with the determination to leave the world. Hearing the Dies Iræ sung, and considering the terror of the soul when presented before Jesus Christ, the Judge, he took, and afterwards executed, the resolution of giving himself entirely to God.

2. It is the common opinion of theologians, that at the very moment and in the very place in which the soul departs from the body, the divine tribunal is erected, the accusation is read, and the sentence is passed by Jesus Christ, the Judge. At this terrible tribunal each of us shall be presented to give an account of all our thoughts, of all our words, and of all our actions. "For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body, according as he hath done, whether it be good or evil." ( 2 Cor. v. 10.) When presented before an earthly judge criminals have been seen to fall into a cold sweat through fear. It is related of Piso, that so great and insufferable was the confusion, which he felt at the thought of appearing as a criminal before the senate that he killed himself. How great is the pain of a vassal, or of a son, in appearing before an angry prince or an enraged father, to account for some crime which he has committed! Oh! how much greater shall be the pain and confusion of the soul in standing, before Jesus Christ enraged against her for having despised him during her life! Speaking of judgment, St. Luke says: "Then you shall see the Son of Man." (Luke xxi. 27.) They shall see Jesus Christ as man, with the same wounds with which he ascended into heaven. "Great joy of the beholders!" says Robert the Abbot, "a great terror of those who are in expectation!" These wounds shall console the just, and shall terrify the wicked. In them sinners shall see the Redeemer’s love for themselves, and their ingratitude to him.

3. "Who," says the Prophet Nahum, "can stand before the face of his indignation ?" (i. 6.) How great, then, shall be the terror of a soul that finds herself in sin before this Judge, the first time she shall see him, and see him full of wrath! St. Basil says that she shall be tortured more by her shame and confusion than by the very fire of hell. ”Horridior quam ignis, erit pudor." Philip the Second rebuked one of his domestics for having told him a lie. ”Is it thus," said the king to him, ”you deceive me?" The domestic, after having returned home, died of grief. The Scripture tells us, that when Joseph reproved his brethren, saying: ”I am Joseph, whom you sold," they were unable to answer through fear, and remained silent. ”His brethren could not answer him, being struck with exceeding great fear." (Gen. xlv. 3.) Now what answer shall sinners make to Jesus Christ when he shall say to them: I am your Redeemer and your Judge, whom you have so much despised. Where shall the miserable beings fly, says St. Augustine, when they shall see an angry Judge above, hell open below, on one side their own sins accusing them, and on the other the devils dragging them to punishment, and their conscience burning them within? “Above shall be an enraged Judge below, a horrid chaos on the right, sins accusing him on the left, demons dragging him to punishment within, a burning conscience! Whither shall a sinner, beset in this manner, fly ?"Perhaps he will cry for mercy? But how, asks Eusebius Emissenus, can he dare to implore mercy, when he must first render an account of his contempt for the mercy which Jesus Christ has shown to him?”With what face will you, who are to be first judged for contempt of mercy, ask for mercy?" But let us come to the rendering of the accounts.

Second Point. Terror of the soul when she shall be examined.

4. As soon as the soul shall be presented before the tribunal of Jesus Christ, he will say to her: ”Give an account of thy stewardship:" render instantly an account of thy entire life. The Apostle tells us, that to be worthy of eternal glory our lives must be found conformable to the life of Jesus Christ. ”For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his son ;...them he also glorified." (Rom. viii. 29, 30.) Hence St. Peter has said, that in the judgment of Jesus Christ, the just man who has observed the divine law, has pardoned enemies, has respected the saints, has practised chastity, meekness, and other virtues, shall scarcely be saved. ”The just man shall scarcely be saved." The Apostle adds: "Where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear ?" (1 Pet. iv. 18.) What shall become of the vindictive and the unchaste, of blasphemers and slanderers? What shall become of those whose entire life is opposed to the life of Jesus Christ?

5. In the first place, the Judge shall demand of sinners an account of all the blessings and graces which he bestowed on them in order to bring them to salvation, and which they have rendered fruitless. He will demand an account of the years granted to them that they might serve God, and which they have spent in offending him. "He hath called against me the time." (Lam. i. 15.) He will then demand an account of their sins. Sinners commit sins, and afterwards forget them; but Jesus Christ does not forget them: he keeps, as Job says, all our iniquities numbered, as it were in a bag. “Thou hast sealed up my iniquities, as it were in a bag." (Job xiv. 17.) And he tells us that, on the day of accounts, he will take a lamp to scrutinize all the actions of our life. ”And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps." (Soph. i. 12.) The lamp, says Mendoza on this passage, penetrates all the corners of the house that is, God will discover all the defects of our conscience, great and small. According to St. Anselm, an account shall be demanded of every glance of the eyes. ”Exigitur usque ad ictum oculi." And, according to St. Matthew, of every idle word. ”Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it on the day of judgment." (Matt. xii. 36.)

6. The Prophet Malachy says, that as gold is refined by taking away the dross, so on the day of judgment all our actions shall be examined, and every defect which may be discovered shall be punished. ”He shall purify the sons of Levi, and shall refine them as gold." (Mal. iii. 3.) Even our justices that is, our good works, confessions, communions, and prayers shall be examined. "When I shall take a time, I will judge justices." (Ps. Ixxiv. 3.) But if every glance, every idle word, and even good works, shall be judged, with what rigour shall immodest expressions, blasphemies, grievous detractions, thefts, and sacrileges be judged? Alas! on that day every soul shall, as St. Jerome says, see, to her own confusion, all the evils which she has done. ”Videbit unusquisque quod fecit."

7. “Weight and balance are judgments of the Lord. ”(Prov. xvi. 11.) In the balance of the Lord a holy life and good works make the scale descend; but nobility, wealth, and science have no weight. Hence, if found innocent, the peasant, the poor, and the ignorant shall be rewarded. But the man of rank, of wealth, or of learning, if found guilty, shall be condemned. "Thou art weighed in the balance," said Daniel to Belthassar, ”and art found wanting." (Dan. v. 27.)”Neither his gold nor his wealth," says Father Alvares, ”but the king alone was weighed."

8. At the divine tribunal the poor sinner shall see himself accused by the devil, who, according to St. Augustine, ”will recite the words of our profession, and will charge us before our face with all that we have done, will state the day and hour in which we sinned." (Con. Jud., tom. 6.)”He will recite the words of our profession" that is, he will enumerate the promises which we have made to God, and which we afterwards violated. ”He will charge us before our face ;" he will upbraid us with all our wicked deeds, pointing to the day and hour in which they were committed. And he will, as the same saint says, conclude his accusation by saying: "I have suffered neither stripes nor scourges for this man." Lord, I have suffered nothing for this ungrateful sinner, and to make himself my slave he has turned his back on thee who has endured so much for his salvation. He, therefore, justly belongs to me. Even his angel-guardian will, according to Origen, come forward to accuse him, and will say: "I have laboured so many years for his salvation; but he has despised all my admonitions." "Unusquisque angelorum perhibet testimonium, quot annis circa eum laboraverit, sed ille monita sprevit." (Hom. lxvi.) Thus, even friends shall treat with contempt the guilty soul. ”All her friends have despised her." (Lamen. i. 2.) Her very sins shall, says St. Bernard, accuse her. “And they shall say: You have made us; we are your work; we shall not desert you." (Lib. Medit, cap. ii.) We are your offspring; we shall not leave you: we shall be your companions in hell for all eternity.

9. Let us now examine the excuses which the sinner will be able to advance. He will say, that the evil inclinations of nature had drawn him into sin. But he shall be told that, if concupiscence impelled him to sins, it did not oblige him to commit them; and that, if he had recourse to God, he should have received from him grace to resist every temptation. For this purpose Jesus Christ has left us the sacraments: but when we do not make use of them, we can complain only of ourselves. "But, ” says the Redeemer, “now they have no excuse for their sin." (John xv. 22.) To excuse himself, the sinner shall also say that the devil tempted him to sin. But, as St. Augustine says, "The enemy is bound like a dog in chains, and can bite only him who has united himself to him with a deadly security." The devil can bark, but cannot bite unless you adhere and listen to him. Hence the saint adds: “See how foolish is the man whom a dog, loaded with chains, bites." Perhaps he will advance his bad habits as an excuse; but this shall not stand; for the same St. Augustine says, that though it is difficult to resist the force of an evil habit, ”if any one does not desert himself, he will conquer it with the divine assistance." If a man does not abandon himself to sin, and invokes God’s aid, he will overcome evil habits. The Apostle tells us, that the Lord does not permit us to be tempted above our strength. ”God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able." ( I Cor. x. 13.)

10. “For what shall I do," said Job, ”when God shall rise to judge me? and when he shall examine, what shall I answer him” (Job xxxi. 14.) What answer shall the sinner give to Jesus Christ? How can he, who sees himself so clearly convicted, give an answer? He shall be covered with confusion, and shall remain silent, like the man found without the nuptial garment. ”But he was silent." (Matt. xxii. 12.) His very sins shall shut the sinner’s mouth. "And all iniquity shall stop her mouth." (Ps. cvi. 42.) There, says St. Thomas of Villanova, there shall be no intercessor to whom the sinner can have recourse. “There, there is no opportunity of sinning; there, no intercessor, no friend, no father shall assist." Who shall then save you? Is it God? But how, asks St. Basil, can you expect salvation from him whom you have despised?” Who shall deliver you? Is it God, whom you have insulted ?" (S. Bas., Or. 4, de Fen.) Alas! the guilty soul that leaves this world in sin, is condemned by herself before the Judge pronounces sentence. Let us come to the sentence of the Judge.  (Sermons for All the Sundays in the Year by St Alphonsus Liguori in .pdf format.)

The moment of the Particular Judgment is what should fill us with fear of Our Lord and His just judgment upon us even as we trust in Our Lady and Saint Joseph and our dear Wonder Worker, Saint Philomena, to assist us as we die. Quite to the contrary of Jorge Mario Bergoglio has said on so many occasoins in the past six years, four months, should not fear physical suffering at any point in our lives, and we must especially embrace and thank God for it as we approach death as it is the most blessed means by which we can make a bit of reparation for our sins.

Saint Alphonsus de Liguori explained the necessity of redemptive suffering to be truly prepared for death whenever it should come and wherever it should occur:

Seeing that on this earth so many miscreants live in prosperity, and that so many saints live in tribulations, the very Gentiles, by the sole aid of the light of nature, have known this truth,--that, since there is a just God, there must be another life, in which the wicked are punished and the good rewarded. But what the Gentiles learned by the light of reason, we Christians know by faith. We have not here a lasting city, but we week one that is to come. This earth is not our country; it is for us a place of passage, from which we shall soon go to the home of eternity. "Man shall go into the house of his eternity." The house, then, dear reader, which you inhabit, is not your house; it is a hospital, from which you will soon, and when you least expect, be dislodged. Remember, that when the time of death has arrived, your dearest relatives will be the first to banish you from it; and what will be your true house? The house of your body will be a grave, in which it will remain till the day of judgment; but your poor soul will go to the house of eternity--either to heaven or to hell. St. Augustine tells us that you are a stranger, a traveller, a spectator. It would be foolishness in a traveller to spend all his patrimony in purchasing a villa or a house in a country through which he merely passes, and which he must leave in a few days. Reflect, says the saint, that in this world you are only on a journey; fix not your affections on what you see; look and pass on, and labor to procure a good house, in which you will have to dwell forever.

Happy you, if you save your soul! Oh! how delightful is heaven! All the princely palaces of this world are but stables compared with the city of paradise, which alone can be called the city of perfect beauty. There you will have nothing to desire; for you will be in the society of the saints, of the divine Mother, and of Jesus Christ, and will be free from all fear of evil; in a word, you will live in a sea of delights, and in unceasing joy, which will last forever. Everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. This joy shall be so great, that at every moment for all eternity it will appear new. But unhappy you, if you are lost! You will be confined in a sea of fire and of torments, in despair, abandoned by all, and without God. And for how long? Perhaps, after the lapse of a hundred thousand years, your pains will have an end? A hundred and a thousand millions of years and ages will pass by, and you hell will always be at its commencement. What are a thousand years compared with eternity? Less than a day which is gone by. A thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. Would you wish to know the house which will be your dwelling for eternity? it will be that which you merit, and which you choose for yourself by your works.

Thou, O Lord! behold the house which I have deserved by the life which I led. Alas! it is hell, in which, from the first sin I have committed, I ought to dwell, abandoned by Thee, and without having it ever in my power to love Thee. Blessed forever be Thy mercy, which has waited for me, and which now gives me time to repair the evil I have done. O my God! I will no longer abuse Thy patience. I am sorry above all thins for having offended Thee, not so much because I have merited hell, as because I have outraged Thy infinite goodness. Never more, my God! never more will I rebel against Thee: I desire death rather than offend Thee. O my Sovereign Good! were I now in hell, I could never love Thee, nor couldst Thou love me. I love Thee, and wish to be loved by Thee; this I do not deserve, but Jesus merits it, because he has offered himself to Thee in sacrifice on the cross, that Thou mightest be able to pardon and love me. Eternal Father! give me, then, for the sake of Thy Son, the grace to love Thee, and to love Thee intensely. I love Thee, O Son of God! who didst die for me. I love thee, O Mother of Jesus! who, by thy intercession, hast obtained for me time for repentance. O Mary! obtain for me sorrow for my sins, the love of God, and holy perseverance. (Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, Preparation for Death, pp. 144-146.)

We must remember that no earthly success or accomplishment of ours matters not one little bit if we lose our immortal souls for all eternity in hell because we failed to make a good, integral Confession of our sins to a true priest and thus died in a state of final impenitence.
