The Events of January 6, 2021, Should Never Have Occurred. Period

Over two years have passed since then President Donald John Trump, who was unable to accept the fact that his re-election campaign had come a cropper in large measure because he did not take seriously the legal efforts that were made by the likes of “elections attorney” Marc Elias to secure “consent agreements” with various state attorneys general to, in effect, make voter fraud easier than ever to accomplish and harder than ever to prove and because his own campaign lacked any kind of real focus, was slipshod and was based on the presumption that he could eke out the same kind of narrow victory in key states to secure enough electoral votes as he had on November 8, 2016, spoke at an ill-advised “Stop the Steal Rally” that had been organized by his supporters.

Although the former president most emphatically did not urge those in attendance to invade the Capitol of the United States of America and had called for whatever protests would take outside of it to be peaceful, it is, though, nevertheless true that he enjoyed watching the spectacle of those of his supporters (Trump 'gleefully' watched Capitol rioters 'fighting' for him on TV at White House: Grisham), consisting of a relative handful of those who attended the rally, who tried to stop the constitutional proceedings of counting the certified electoral votes of the fifty states and the District of Columbia as presided over by then Vice President Michael Richard Pence before a joint meeting of the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives. Even his ever loyal and completely doting daughter, Ivanka Trump Kushner, pleaded with her father on no less than two occasions to intervene to stop his supporters from continuing to play into the hands of his political enemies and thus ceding the moral high ground to the morally and ethically corrupt, cognitively challenged, vapid, plagiarist and pathological liar, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. (see Ivanka asked Trump to intervene during Capitol riot).

As noted in my long reflection, Put Not Your Trust in Princes: In the Children of Men in Who There is No Salvation, what happened on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, was not an “insurrection,” and then President Donald John Trump was not guilty of encouraging a riot. What happened twenty-six months ago was that several of Trump’s supporters and followers of the idiocy called “qanon,” did seek to disrupt the proceedings of the counting of the electoral votes, although no one from Merrick Garland’s Ministry of Injustice nor Christopher Wray’s Federal Bureau of Investigation is willing to discuss the role of Federal agents in serving as agents provocateur in the disorganized riot that disrupted the electoral vote counting process for about nine hours.

Consider the facts in the following report from 2021:

Federal authorities won't explain why three men who participated in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, have mysteriously disappeared from the FBI's Capitol Violence Most Wanted list.

One unidentified man wore an earpiece during the riot and was filmed carrying what appeared to be a concealed handgun on his left hip. The man was pictured on the FBI's most wanted list for over five months until he was removed without explanation on the same day the New York Times reported an FBI informant was at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

A second unidentified man was filmed beating police officers with a baton during the riot. The FBI said the man was wanted for assaulting a federal law enforcement officer, but the agency removed the man from its most wanted list without explanation in late February, just weeks after his debut.

The third man, Ray Epps of Arizona, was filmed in the hours leading up to the riot urging Trump supporters to enter the Capitol to stop the certification of President Joe Biden's election victory.

Epps has not been arrested or charged for his actions. His unexplained removal from the FBI's most wanted list on July 1 has fueled speculation from a member of the House Judiciary Committee that Epps may have agitated people to storm the Capitol at the behest of the FBI.

Video footage shows Epps, a former president of the Arizona Oath Keepers militia group, urging a crowd of Trump supporters on the evening of Jan. 5, 2021, to "go into the Capitol" the next day, provoking allegations from the crowd that he was working for the federal authorities.

On Jan. 6, 2021, as former President Donald Trump spoke to supporters outside the White House, Epps went to work corralling people toward the Capitol. He was also part of the first group of rioters to break through a police barrier on Capitol grounds.

The Arizona Republic identified Epps as the individual pictured in the FBI's Capitol Violence Most Wanted list less than a week after the riot. His picture remained on the list for nearly six months until its unexplained removal on July 1.

There is no evidence Epps entered the Capitol building during the riot, nor is there any footage of him directly participating in acts of violence. Epps told the Arizona Republic he did nothing wrong and that rioters who engaged in violence to gain entry into the Capitol building were "totally, totally wrong."

"The only thing that meant is we would go in the doors like everything else," Epps told the outlet when presented with a transcript of his comments before the riot urging Trump supporters to go to the Capitol.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky presented video footage of Epps encouraging people to go into the Capitol on Jan. 5 and 6 during a hearing in October with Attorney General Merrick Garland.

During the hearing, Garland refused an opportunity from Massie to put to rest allegations that federal assets agitated people to storm the Capitol. Garland said he wouldn't comment on an ongoing investigation.

Epps did not return text messages and calls to his cellphone.

Only 13 suspects have been removed from the FBI's Capitol Violence Most Wanted list, launched two days after the riot to solicit help from the public in identifying rioters. Hundreds of individuals on the list have been identified, but they remain on the list with a notice they have been arrested.

Online sleuths identified removed suspects 311 and 312 as photojournalists. Two removed suspects were minors. Removed suspect 236 identified herself as a 17-year-old girl to a reporter during the riot, and online sleuths identified removed suspect 310 as a minor. Removed suspect 257 was identified as Andrew Taake of Texas, who was arrested and charged by federal authorities in July. Removed suspects 36, 37, 197, and 198 remain on the list under different numbers.

Removed suspect 171 was identified as Evan Neumann of California, who is currently listed on another FBI most wanted list. Neumann allegedly assaulted police officers with a metal barricade during the riot. He fled the country in February and is currently believed to be in Belarus, according to the FBI notice. Neumann was indicted on Dec. 10 on 14 counts.

It is not clear why the FBI removed Epps and the two other unidentified men, dubbed GingerGun and HarleyJacketBatonMan by online sleuths, from its most wanted list.

The FBI declined to comment, and the Department of Justice did not return multiple requests for comment.

During a press conference Wednesday, Garland pledged that the DOJ would do whatever it takes to hold all Jan. 6 perpetrators accountable, regardless of whether they were merely present at the Capitol or were "otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy."

Garland acknowledged the public has questions about his department's investigation into the Capitol riot but said he couldn't divulge details about specific cases. This is a point that bears some elaboration as evidence has been amassed that the head of an organization called “Oath Keepers” which had been planning violent acts at the Capitol two years ago has as yet to be charged with any crime (see Federal Protection of “Oath Keepers” Kingpin Stewart Rhodes Breaks The Entire Capitol “Insurrection” Lie Wide Open) while those guilty of simple trespassing languish in jail and/or have been sentenced to stiff sentences that have not been meted out to those who rioted in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd in 2020 (see Updated and Reposted: RealClearInvestigations' Jan. 6-BLM Riots Comparison) or that the district attorney of the County of New York, Eric Bragg, among others (such as Saint Louis County, Missouri, prosecutor Kim Gardner, and Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania district attorney Larry Krasner, and, among others, Los Angeles County, California prosecutor George Gascon), refuses to prosecute many cases of violent crime committed by recidivist criminals, thereby resulting in the ability of these criminals to attack and kill innocent human beings with almost complete impunity  (see Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg to stop seeking prison in some cases, Los Angeles County DA Gascón suspends attorney who prosecuted transgender child molester, Missouri AG claims liberal St. Louis prosecutor ignoring 'rule of law' as he seeks to oust her, and Retiring Prosecutor Resigns pbecause of Kim Foxx's policies.)

Columnist Miranda Devine discussed the wretched treatment that many of those caught up in the events at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, are getting from Federal authorities as some of them have been jailed for over two years without their cases having gone to trial while others are subject to twenty-three hours of solitary confinement per day:

For more than two years, while they controlled every lever of power in Washington, the Democratic Party and their media allies told a one-sided story about what happened at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

For more than two years, the surveillance footage from the 2021 Capitol riot, aired this week by Tucker Carlson, was kept from the American public by a Democratic Congress so a false narrative became cemented in the public consciousness.

For more than two years, footage that could have exonerated Jan. 6 defendants was kept from their legal teams.

People are in prison because of that cover-up.

Take the footage aired by Carlson Monday night of so-called “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley being escorted around the Capitol by police officers who help him open the door and enter the empty Senate chamber.

It is hard to reconcile these calm and even cordial scenes with the nearly four-year prison sentence Chansley now is serving for “obstructing an official proceeding.”

Contrary to what apologists have been saying since Carlson began airing the footage, all this material has not previously been made available to the J6 defendants, some of whom have been jailed without trial for two years, in violation of their constitutional right to a fair and speedy trial.

Grounds for appeal

New York lawyer Joseph McBride, one of the few heroes of this ugly saga, represents six J6 defendants and says a significant proportion of the 41,000 hours of surveillance footage House Speaker Kevin McCarthy released to Carlson was kept from his clients and should give them “grounds for appeal.”

Chansley lawyer Bill Shipley, also told Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley that his defense team “did not have this material.”

McBride says the J6 committee’s deceptions and pejorative comments about “MAGA Republicans” from President Biden “have poisoned the DC jury pool beyond repair,” which also is grounds for appeal.

“It is egregious the way these people have been treated, for as much as two years pretrial, before any finding of fact. When people find out what has been going on in the DC gulag, it is going to shock the American conscience forever,” the lawyer said.

A new book about the J6 prisoners, “Due Process Denied,” tells a tale of hell in the Washington, DC, “gulag,” the Central Detention Facility in southeast Washington where most have been housed.

Cynthia Hughes writes poignantly of one defendant who committed suicide rather than go back to jail.

The defendants have been kept in a separate unit with mold on the walls, brown water and generally unsanitary conditions, are subjected to 23 hours a day of solitary confinement, denied adequate food, medical treatment and religious services.

Their only solace is that every night at 9 p.m., they gather to sing the national anthem.

Hughes is a New Jersey mother of four, the aunt of a J6 prisoner and founder of a nonprofit organization, Patriot Freedom Project, which helps the families, who in many cases have lost their breadwinner, and help contribute to their legal defense.

She says every other legal defense fund has turned their back on these pariahs.

“Children have endured their homes being torn apart” in FBI dawn raids, she writes. “These people who are supposed to protect them putting their daddy in handcuffs and dragging him out of his home. This is the last image they have of their fathers, as these men have been imprisoned with no access to visits for over a year.”

She points out that “the majority of Jan. 6 defendants in the DC jail were active or reservist military or veterans” and she describes a horrific scene on Veterans Day 2021.

“There was a dispute over a mask between a female guard and a Jan. 6 detainee. This female guard became so enraged with the detainee because he wouldn’t wear a mask that she unloaded several cans of Mace . . . and filled the entire pod with fumes. She had a gas mask on, but the men were dropping to their knees and several of them were taken out on stretchers.”

At every night at 9 p.m., they gather to sing the national anthem.

The Capitol riot was ugly and the behavior of those who attacked police was shameful.

But that does not justify this unjust and cruel treatment, and the lengthy pre­trial detention of nonviolent defendants.

For more than two years, the deplorables who went to Washington, DC, that day have been vilified and demonized as domestic terrorists and, absurdly, white supremacists.

They are all guilty until proven innocent, even if they did not enter the Capitol that day.

Nancy Pelosi lied that Trump supporters had defecated all over the House floor.

There is no evidence that any such thing happened.

“There’s defecation and all that kind of thing . . . It could take time to clean up the poo-poo that they’re making all over,” Pelosi said gleefully in a video from the day released by the J6 committee. Just another casual defamation.

Pelosi engineered the J6 committee to her political advantage.

It had access to the surveillance footage and deliberately withheld the truth from the American people about what happened inside the Capitol that day.

Democrats cherry-picked footage and tailored the evidence to support their political witch hunt.

Their show trials were designed to “Give Democrats a Chance to Recast Midterm Message,” as The New York Times declared.

Multiple editions of the J6 committee’s final report were rushed into print over Christmas. To this day, they remain on Amazon’s bestseller lists.

Through the holiday season, Barnes & Noble’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan had seven different editions of the report piled high on a prominent display table.

Their glossy covers were decorated with the names of such celebrated liars as Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff and ­Jamie Raskin, who wrote forewords to further weaponize the committee’s attacks on their political adversaries.

The Capitol riot was a gift to Democrats and Trump-deranged Republicans. They didn’t care about the perversion of justice or the human toll of their political game.

If this were happening in an authoritarian overseas country, the State Department would rightly decry the injustice.

The shabby treatment of the J6 defendants is a stain on this country’s reputation that has not gone unnoticed around the world. (An egregious denial of due process for Jan. 6 protesters.)

There are riots and then there are “riots,” including the riots in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2020 when a certain United States Senator from California named Kamala Harris used her website to raise funds for those arrested in the burning of a police precinct while encouraging the rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to continue “protesting” (Reminder: Kamala Harris Helped Bail Out Criminals Burning Down American Cities). This is the same ideologue who, as Vice President of the United States of America, said on January 6, 2022, that the events of that date a year earlier were the equivalent of Pearl Harbor and the tragedies that took place on September 11, 2001 (see Kamala Harris slammed for comparing Jan 6 riot to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor).

Most of those, however, who entered the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, did so without thinking of the consequences and were even stupid enough to post photographs of themselves on various “social media” outlets in what many of them considered to be a “fun-filled” frolic that was as pointless as it was aimless. 

All that having been noted, it is important to state that the intellectually dishonest membrers of the so-called "bi-partisan" January 6 Commitee and their cheerleaders in the ranks of careerist Republicans who eat heartily and drink merrily from the trough of lobbyists, political consultants and the class of the permanent bureaurcacy/national security state are once again showing how impervious they are to actual facts. These establishment sycophants cheerled for Robert Mueller and the rest of the Russian collusion delusion, Many of them cheerled for Alexander Vindman, and almost none of them have ever denounced the ways in which the combined forces of the Washington establishment sought to undermine the presidency of Donald John Trump while refusing to consider the fact that the man, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who urged Trump to propose those needless lockdown policies three years ago this month, remains a self-seeking liar who is still seeking to cover up his role in providing funding for the source of the Wuhan virus. None of these insulated elitists wants to have the bubble in which they live popped, which is why they are upset that unedited surveillance footage of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots deemed to be opposd to their own false narratives have been shown by Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson at this time.

Mr. Carlson noted this in a recent monologue:

Last night, we aired video from surveillance cameras on Capitol Hill. That video was recorded 26 months to the day before January 6, 2021, and for 26 months, that footage was held from the American public. The January 6 Committee made certain. Now, the Justice Department also kept a lid on that video footage and in fact, in some cases, DOJ did not share it with criminal defendants who had been charged on January 6 in violation of their constitutional rights. 

We felt it was a public service to bring what we could to you. There was no justification for keeping the secret any longer and a powerful argument to be made that sunlight is always and everywhere the best disinfectant and in fact, because it was video evidence, it is to some extent self-explanatory.  

Anyone could look at the tape and decide what he or she thinks of it. The tape we showed last night indicated very clearly that Capitol Hill police in some cases escorted protesters through the Capitol as if they were giving a tour. They did that with Jacob Chansley, the so-called QAnon Shaman. At one point, they even tried to open locked doors on Chansley’s behalf. 

Chansley was sentenced to four years in prison for his crimes in the Capitol on January 6 and the video we showed you last night raises the obvious question: Why? On what grounds? The video we showed you last night also showed that Officer Brian Sicknick was not beaten to death with a fire extinguisher by protesters on January 6 as the media and Liz Cheney so often claimed. The video shows Sicknick walking around the building, apparently in good health, after he was supposedly killed. We showed you that video. You can make of it what you will. We also showed you video that proves Ray Epps, the mysterious protester who encouraged others to breach the Capitol, lied to the January 6 Committee about where he was on that day, but for some reason, the committee protected him anyway. He was not considered an insurrectionist. He was their ally. 

So, once again, you can draw whatever conclusions you like from that video. We have ours and we shared them with you, but it's really beyond debate that it is good for this country for Americans to be able to see it. The media and politicians, the people in charge, have talked about January 6 every day since it happened for 26 months and so at some point, the evidence should be presented to the public. In free countries, governments do not lie about protests as a pretext to gain more power for themselves. They don't selectively edit videos for propaganda services and then lie about them and fake hearings and show trials, but that's exactly what happened and every member of Congress should ask why that happened, but Democrats in the Senate, the Democratic leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, is not asking why. Instead, Chuck Schumer went on the Senate floor today to explode and to say that showing that video evidence of wrongdoing by the federal government, including the security forces, the police department, that Nancy Pelosi personally controlled, letting the public see any of that is a threat to democracy. 

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: Last night, millions of Americans tuned in to one of the most shameful hours we have ever seen on cable television. Fox News host Tucker Carlson ran a lengthy segment last night arguing the January 6 Capitol attack was not a violent insurrection. I don't think I've ever seen a primetime cable news anchor manipulate his viewers the way Mr. Carlson did last night. I don't think I've ever seen an anchor treat the American people and American democracy with such disdain.  

"There's nothing that shameful that has ever appeared on American television in the history of the media," and so on the basis of that, the self-evident outrage of showing the public video that it paid for and has a right to see, Chuck Schumer called for the censorship of that video — any information, and he did not dispute that it was accurate — the damage is a storyline his party constructed and used must be squelched. And Schumer's explicit on that point. Because that video contradicted lies told by the Democratic Party — Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, Chuck Schumer demanded that our bosses pull this show off the air. 

SCHUMER: He's going to come back tonight with another segment. Fox News should tell him not to. Fox News, Rupert Murdoch — tell Carlson not to run a second segment of lies. I urge Fox News to order Carlson to cease propagating the big lie on his network and to level with their viewers about the truth — the truth behind the efforts to mislead the public. Conduct like theirs is just asking for another January 6 to happen.  

"It's a threat to democracy. Pull him off the air." A couple of obvious observations: You don't often see the Senate majority leader openly call for censorship on the floor of the Senate as if that was totally normal and didn't contradict the spirit and the letter of the First Amendment, but of course it does, but what's really happening here? What you're seeing is hysteria, the overstatement, the crazed hyperbole, the red-in-the-face anger. What is that? Well, it's not outrage, of course. It's fear. It's panic.  

Those videos, which we did not retouch, which we brought to you after running everyone by the Capitol Police to make certain that we didn't imperil anybody, and we told you that last night, those videos touch a nerve because they're a threat to the lies that Chuck Schumer has been telling for the last 26 months, and not just Chuck Schumer. We should also tell you that Chuck Schumer, the Senate majority leader, was joined in this outrage by the Senate minority leader and that would be a Republican, Mitch McConnell, and they were joined by a cascade of other Republicans — Thom Tillis from North Carolina, Mitt Romney from Utah — all sharing the same outrage, and from this, we learn two things. 

One: You're getting close to what they really care about, and you have to ask yourself why? Why is it so important that they would degrade themselves by telling such obvious lies and calling for censorship? Why? What are they trying to protect? That might be worth exploring, and we plan to, and the second thing that we learn from this is that they're on the same side. The Senate majority leader joins the Senate minority leader — Thom Tillis, Mitt Romney. They're all on the same side. So, it's actually not about left and right. It's not about Republican and Democrat. Here you have people with shared interests, the open borders people, the people like Mitch McConnell, who are living in splendor on Chinese money, the people who underneath it all have everything in common are all aligned against everyone else, and that would include almost all news organizations in this country as well. 

So, if you're watching, this might be kind of interesting to keep a list, because one thing we learned today is that they're all in agreement with each other. They kind of outed themselves. They sort of showed their membership cards and whatever club this is to the public, so keep a list. If you want to know who's actually aligned, despite the illusion of partisanship, we found out today. We have a little more tape for you tonight. If you take three steps back, you may notice that the one person really who was never blamed for anything that happened on January 6 was the very same person who was in charge of the police force, the Capitol Hill police, that was charged with securing safety on January 6, and that person was Nancy Pelosi.  

If there was a security failure on January 6, and demonstrably there was, it was probably Nancy Pelosi's fault, and after looking at thousands of hours of footage, we came to the conclusion that many others have reached, which is the Capitol Police were not prepared for what happened, and that's fascinating when you think about it, because there was ample warning. The federal intel and law enforcement agencies knew perfectly well there could be a massive disturbance at the Capitol, but the frontline officers on duty that day didn't know and yet the people who kept that information from the frontline officers were overwhelmed by thousands of people milling around the Capitol building? The people who fell down on the job, who didn't do their job, they were not punished. They were rewarded, and you have to ask yourself, why is that? (The January 6 videos touch a nerve because they threaten Dems' lies.)

Carlson elaborated on these points two days later:

One of the hallmarks of people who are telling the truth, in case you were wondering how to tell the difference, is that people who are telling the truth are calm. You don't wave their hands around and make wild accusations. They don't need to do that. It's enough to say what they know and if honest people turn out to be wrong about something they have claimed, they'll admit it. They don't double down on false. They made a mistake and that's okay. It's not like they're claiming to be God. 

Liars behave differently. Liars are touchy, sometimes to the point of hysteria. They're hiding something. That's the whole point of lying and they're worried you're going to find out what it is. Liars are fragile because over time, lying makes you weak and afraid and has the same effect on countries by the way. 

We're living through one of those clarifying moments. Actually, we're thankful for it, where we're learning exactly who the liars are. On Monday, we showed you unreleased videotape from January 6. It proved, that tape proved, that three of the most important claims our leaders have made about that day were untrue. Their claims were lies. We were not shocked to discover that. We knew there was a reason that congressional leaders had been hiding the tape and that reporters in Washington weren't demanding to see it. They were lying to us obviously. That's why you hide things.

But what was actually surprising, what we can't quite get over even now, is how they responded when they were caught lying. They didn't seem embarrassed. They didn't apologize. They weren't even curious to learn more about what actually happened on January 6. Let's see the tape. No, they don't want to see it. They exploded in rage. And then as liars tend to do, they doubled down.  

They told the same lies they'd been caught telling, but with even greater aggression this time. Shut up. It's midnight, they said, as the sun rose behind them. Who acts like that? Well, sociopaths do and in this case, the sociopaths turned out to be both Democrats and Republicans. The commitment to lying in Washington is far deeper and more bipartisan even than we realize, and we follow this stuff for a living. 

Now, you sometimes hear people say that the whole partisan system is an illusion and that underneath the manufactured debates, the leaders on both sides are, in fact, secretly united in a common love of money and power and the deception required to get them. And honestly, we can never really bring ourselves to believe that. It's just too dark. But now we do believe it because we have seen it. 

Consider the death of police officer Brian Sicknick. Now, we still don't know exactly how Officer Sicknick died. We're not certain that anyone does know. No one has explained it, but after reviewing the previously withheld video evidence, we can tell you with certainty that Officer Sicknick was not beaten to death by Trump voters at the Capitol.  

The tape shows very clearly Brian Sicknick walking through the building in apparent health after the media told us for two years that he had been murdered. So, they were wrong about that. Ok. They got caught. Here's the interesting thing. They won't admit it. Liz Cheney's tweet is still on Twitter tonight. "Officer Sicknick was killed defending our Capitol from the violent mob on January 6." No correction. Anderson Cooper of CNN still has not apologized "Officer Brian Sicknick died after being hit the head with a fire extinguisher during the fight," he told us. Those are lies. Why not just admit it and move on? They won't. 

In fact, this week, the White House trotted out both the press secretary and Joe Biden's attorney general, the attorney general of the United States, to claim not just that Brian Sicknick was actually murdered by Republicans at the Capitol, but that other officers were murdered, too. It's almost beyond belief. Watch this.  

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: The wide range of bipartisan lawmakers, you heard them all yesterday, you guys reported on it, who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented violent attack on upon our Constitution and the rule of law, which cost police officers their lives.  

MERRICK GARLAND: It was a violent attack on a fundamental tenet of American democracy, that power is peacefully transferred from one administration to another. Over 100 officers were assaulted on that day. Five officers died.  

"Five officers died on that day." Now, that's just not some guy on Twitter. That's the attorney general of the United States. That's a man whose honesty is central to his job. If you had a choice between IQ and integrity in an attorney general, of course you go with integrity because it's essential, but Joe Biden's attorney general, Merrick Garland, is a liar. He just lied about something that is provably false. Who are these five officers who were "killed that day"?

Notice he didn't tell you. No one ever tells you. No one ever shows you their autopsies. They don't want any detail. They just want the slogan. Now they're counting Brian Sicknick. That's a lie. But who are the other four? Well, those are four officers who killed themselves after January 6, in some cases long after January 6. But their suicides, we know for a fact, were the result of the Republican mob at the Capitol. It's just false, and it's not some esoteric fact.  

That fact is available to anyone who has internet access. No police officers died that day on January 6, none, not one. Some were assaulted. That is true and their assaults are indefensible. How many were assaulted? Garland said over 100. The Government Accountability Office says the number is 114, and we're just going to roll with that. We don't know if it's true, but we'll take it at face value and that is bad. We are opposed to assaulting police officers in any context. We said that on January 6, 2021. We'll say it again. We're against that.

But is January 6 the worst assault on the U.S. government since the Civil War? That's insane. It's not even close. How about March of 1954, when Puerto Rican separatists shot five congressmen in the Capitol building – five members of Congress shot in the building. It's all bad, but the worst since the Civil War? More recently, this is an event we all remember, Antifa descended on Washington, D.C to force the sitting president from office. But it was Trump, so that's cool, and why they were there. They set a historic Christian church on fire, St. John’s in Lafayette Square. Do you remember that? You should, because it happened Labor Day weekend less than three years ago and when that happened, the left-wing mayor of Washington, D.C. refused to allow her police department, the MPD, to assist Secret Service agents while they were under siege and getting beaten. No, she made her cops stand back and watch it happen, and they were very upset about it at the time. You may have forgotten that. Here's what it looks like. 

REPORTER: I believe there are several fires raging now down this street and this is what you hate to see. There are people throwing fireworks and who knows what else. They just set fire to St. John's Church. 

Burning a church across from the White House. Those are the George Floyd riots. What was the toll there? Now, we're not going to guess. We're going to go again right to the government, according to a recently released jail report last month. During those attacks, the 2020 attack on the White House by left wing mobs, "Federal Protective Services, the Secret Service and the Park Police reported that at least 180 officers were injured during the demonstrations, including concussions, lacerations, exposure to chemical gas and severe burning." 

So, while stipulating that all riots are bad because precision matters, facts matter, the truth matters, here's the truth: More cops were injured by Kamala Harris's favorite mob, BLM, at the White House than were injured by Trump voters at the Capitol on January 6, a lot more. So, again, to be clear, both events are bad, but here's the key. We only remember one of them. Why? Because the people in charge of history are liars - liars, And lying is bad and on a national scale, it's deadly. It's corrosive of everything that is good in the country, including trust and your grasp on reality itself and that's what they try to make. 

You lie. Men can become women. Climate change is an existential threat, or whatever the lie is they're making you tell, they don't believe it. They know you don't believe it, but by forcing you to repeatedly degrade and control you, they make you less of a person. They also hurt individuals. We told you Monday about Navy veteran Jacob Chansley. He was tried by the media, convicted of being a domestic terrorist and sentenced to four years in prison. What exactly was Jacob Chansley's crime? Well, no one's ever very precise about that. Here's what the media told you.  

ABC: It was in his horned helmet, fur pelts and face paint, Jacob Chansley became known as the QAnon shaman, but prosecutors called him the most prominent symbol of a violent insurrection.  

CNN: He's been in jail since January and he's trying to get out, but prosecutors say he is still too dangerous to release.  

MSNBC: Make no mistake, Chansley is a stone-cold thug. 

CBS: Oh, he kept saying, you know, "I'm not violent, I'm peaceful, I'm a shaman," but then you put those images, what you were just talking about, you put those images together, and that isn't an image of, you know, of peace. This is the new face of extremism. 

"It's the new face of extremism. Jacob Chansley is the new face of extreme extremism. He's a stone-cold thug. Prosecutors say he is too dangerous to release." And most people believe that because why wouldn't they? They were told it and there was no evidence to the contrary and now there is evidence to the contrary. We brought it here, Monday. The video that we reviewed at great length over three weeks showed with precision what Jacob Chansley actually did inside the Capitol and here's what it looks like once again.  

TUCKER CARLSON: Here's video of Chansley in the Senate chamber. Capitol police officers take him to multiple entrances and even try to open locked doors for him. We counted at least nine officers who were within touching distance of unarmed Jacob Chansley. Not one of them even tried to slow him down. Chansley understood that Capitol Police were his allies. Video shows him giving thanks for them in a prayer on the floor of the Senate. Watch.  

JACOB CHANSLEY, "QANON SHAMAN": Thank you, Heavenly Father for taking the inspiration needed to these police officers to let us into the building.  

Contrast the reality of what Jacob Chansley did in the Capitol building on January 6, the indisputable facts recorded on video, some of which has never before been seen, with the depiction of Jacob Chansley that you've seen in the media for more than two years. He's a terrorist, they said, he should be killed.  

STEVE SCHMIDT: Shoot him. Shoot him. Like is it you burst into the United States, if he was dressed like bin Laden, would they have shot him?  

CARLSON: "Shoot him, Shoot him." It makes you wonder who are the violent extremists here? So, as you saw and again, details matter because this is a man, this is an American citizen, a Navy veteran. This is a human being and so what he actually did should be of deep concern to every American because he's in jail tonight. What Jacob Chansley actually did was wander peacefully through the Capitol, shepherded by Capitol police officers who literally opened doors for him. When one was locked, they went to another. 

Dozens of officers stood and watched him. All of them had guns. Jacob Chansley did not. They never told Jacob Chansley to get out. The head of the Capitol Police today said we he was just trying to calm the situation. It was already calm. He was the only protester in the frame. They could have let him outside. They didn't. They helped him. We're not going to speculate as to why. We don't know why. All we know is what we see on the tape and no one disputes it. We didn't cherry-pick it. We didn't make it up. 

Once inside the Senate chamber, as we told you, Chansley said a prayer, thanking God for the kindness of Capitol Hill police and good for him. They were kind. This was not a domestic terrorist and that matters, but what matters even more is the videos that we showed you after 26 months were not shown to Jacob Chansley's attorneys. That's a violation of the Constitution. and he's in jail because of it, because the liars on the January 6 Committee and the prosecutors who did their bidding and that means Bennie Thompson and that means Adam Schiff. It means Liz Cheney. These people have this man's life on their hands.  

They helped withhold these videos from Jacob Chansley's attorneys and that means the judge who sentenced Jacob Chansley, Royce Lamberth, never saw them either and therefore...Judge Lamberth was able to say that what Chansley did was "horrific." He apparently had no idea that Chansley was wandering around with the cops, walking through doors they opened and saying prayers for them. We're quoting: "you made yourself the center of the riot," said the judge. Really? He accused Chansley of "obstructing the functioning of government." 

That's not at all what was happening. He was ambling through the Capitol, flanked at all times, by armed cops were directing his movement. Meanwhile, prosecutors of the DOJ, the real villains here, falsely, they lied in court and said that Chansley was "leading the charge into the Capitol on January 6." They said he was, "the flag bearer for the mob," apparently because he had a flag. He was alone and of course, the media picked up on this and amplified it as the DOJ intended. 

Fortune Magazine disgraced itself by comparing the man you just saw to ISIS. They said Chansley had "the zeal to possibly kidnap or kill officials." These aren't just lies. These are lies that destroyed a man. So, no matter who you voted for in the last election, you could probably agree that sending someone to prison for four years on the basis of fabricated evidence is the most serious threat to civil liberties we could possibly face.

And yet, here's the thing: Leaders in both parties, the party that Chansley voted against and the party he voted for, have said nothing, not one word about the implications of this videotape, the implications not just for Chansley, but for our Constitution and our country going forward.  

Instead, oh, how dare you show this? What is clearly exculpatory evidence! Again, it's not just Chuck Schumer, it's Republican senators Kevin Cramer, Mike Rounds, Chuck Grassley, John Thune, Lindsey Graham, of course, Congressman Dan Crenshaw, needless to say, Kelly Armstrong, all went after us. We're not whining about that. We don't care, actually, but it just tells you everything about the way things actually work. They're not loyal to their voters. They are loyal to each other, and they're willing to lie, really lie and crush people. Mitch McConnell, Thom Tillis and BLM superfan Mitt Romney, all weak men – and like all weak men, vicious men – were especially angry. Watch.  

MITCH MCCONNELL: It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that's completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here in the capital thinks.  

THOM TILLIS: I think it's bull----. When you see police barricades breached, when you see police officers assaulted, all of that, or you had to be in close proximity to it, if you were just a tourist, you should have probably lined up at the visitor center and came in on an orderly basis. I just don't think it's helpful.  

MITT ROMNEY: It's really sad to see Tucker Carlson go off the rails that bad. The American people saw what happened on January 6. They've seen the people that got injured. They saw the damage to the building. You can't hide the truth by selectively picking a few minutes out of tapes and saying this is what went on. It's so absurd. 

Weak men are vicious men, and these are weak men whose attitudes towards an individual whose life has been destroyed on the basis of false and withheld evidence is vicious. Oh, we cherrypicked? Really? What they're saying, ironically, what they're describing, ironically, is exactly what the January 6 Committee and the prosecutors in these cases did for two years. They selectively picked small segments of tape to convince Americans that January 6 was something that it wasn't. 

It was awful. We would not defend that. We hate vandalism. We hate assault. Was it a violent insurrection? It was not. Was it a killing of five officers in the Capitol? It was not. Those are lies, and they buried tape that contradicted and revealed those lies.  

So, all we did was play the tape that they had been hiding for 26 months and show that there were American citizens, Jacob Chansley specifically, and others who civil liberties were annihilated, and you can make your own rational judgments about what that means. Do you want to live in a country where that's possible? They don't care. Neither party in Washington cares. 

In fact, the leader of the Senate Democrats, Chuck Schumer, just joined the leader of the Senate Republicans, Mitch McConnell, in calling for this show to be pulled off the air. Now, that's not an argument based on logic. It's based on hysteria and the shame you feel as a weak and terrified person when your lies are exposed. Here's Chuck Schumer claiming for the first time that, like Sandy Cortez, he himself nearly died on January 6. 

CHUCK SCHUMER: Tucker Carlson ran a lengthy segment last night arguing the January 6 Capitol attack was not, not, a violent insurrection, an attempt to rewrite history and erode the very foundation of our precious and sometimes fragile democracy. So, yes, this morning I am furious. Millions of Americans are furious. I was here on January 6. Many of you saw the footage as I ran for my life coming within a few feet of these criminals. 

We invited Schumer on, McConnell, anybody is always welcome to come on our show. If we got something wrong, tell us how. If you think we altered the tape in some way, tell us how.

But they won't, nor will they answer the most basic question, which is: why should a non, demonstrably nonviolent man, who literally said a prayer of Thanksgiving for police officers on the Senate floor, how was that man ISIS? How was he a domestic terrorist? How is he a threat to the republic? Why is he in jail for four years? Shut up. Pull that show off the air.

They won't answer any questions, but we have a question, which is: How, in a free country guided by the Constitution, were these people allowed to withhold evidence from Jacob Chansley's lawyer? How could that happen?  (We knew there was a reason leaders hid the January 6 tapes.)

Tucker Carlson is asking very pertinent and pointed questions concerning the events of January 6, 2021, which just happened to be the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and how they and those who got caught up in them have been treated by the national security state's elected and unelected stooges as well as by the in the mainslime media. This is very imporant, to be sure, and it is also took great natural courage for someone with a prominent program on a much-watched cable news network to do what Tucker Carlson is doing.

All well and good.

However, as I noted over two years ago now, the events of January 6, 2021, should never have taken place. 

Yes. Of course. 

All things happen within the Providence of God, and it is good that the events that did transpire are being portrayed in the light of unvarnised facts rather than by the special pleading of the Republicats who edited tapes, refused to seat Republicans, such as United States Representative James Jordan (R-Ohio), who were chosen by then House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) to serve on it, and was called "bipartisan" because two anti-Trump neoconservative "Republicans," Elizabeth Cheney (R?-Wyoming) and Adam Kitzinger (R? Illinois) were willing to do the bidding of the professional character assassins and merchants of outright lies within the orgnized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist left.

Nonetheless, however, it is thus necessary, at least as I see it, to remind the readers of this site of several basic facts:

First, despite Donald John Trump’s repeated insistences to the contrary, there was never any constitutional or legal basis for then Vice President Michael Richard Pence to refuse to accept the certified slates of electors from those states where electoral fraud was alleged to have taken place. Then President Trump was not then nor is he now an expert on the Constitution of the United States and the fact that he found several attorneys who said that Pence had the power to intervene means nothing. I provided a detailed explication of this point in Put Not Your Trust in Princes: In the Children of Men in Who There is No Salvation.

The former president, who appears to have no sense of self-awareness enough to convince him that it is time for others without his baggage to make the naturalist case against statism, did not realize that there was no rational good to be accomplished in gathering his followers in Washington, District of Columbia, in the delusional belief that the mentally challenged leader of a family crime syndicate and stooge for American Marxism hidden upon the banner of "diversity, equity, and inclusion" (which actually means "conformity, iniquity, and exclusion") could be denied the presidency.

Second, I guarantee the readers of this little-read website that had Pence obeyed Trump’s desires that the Supreme Court of the United States of America would have rendered a 9-0 decision stating that the Vice President of the United States of America, acting in his capacity as President of the United States Senate, has no constitutional or legal authority to refuse to accept slates of presidential electors that have been certified by their respective states’ governors. The “woke” General Mark Milley, Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, would have intervened if Trump disobeyed such a Supreme Court decision, a scenario that would have been without precedent in the history of the United States of America.

Third, worst of all is the fact that the date of January 6 will be associated with the needless and self-defeating events that took place at the United States Capitol in 2021 rather than with the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the manifestation of Christ the King to the Gentile kings of this world. I will return to this theme in my concluding remarks.

Fourth, the events that unfolded in and around the grounds of the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, prevented Republican members of the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives from making a clear, rational, and compelling case for election fraud in the states where the election fraud did take place. The outcome would have been the same given the composition of Congress. However, the arguments would have been made in the sort of detail that the events of January 6, 2021, prevented, and even beyond the fraud that took place on November 3, 2021, and thereafter, very few people want to discuss the many ways in which Big Tech, Big Pharma and the mainslime media worked to suppress information that was unfavorable to Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. (see  J6 Hysteria Is To Avoid Accountability For Rigging Of The 2020 Election).

Fifth, it is laughable that the members of the organized crime family of the naturalist “left” keep saying that all talk of election fraud in 2020 is part of a “Big Lie” strategy even though they lied boldly and repeatedly about Russian collusion as part of their effort to delegitimize President Trump’s administration and to undermine him at every turn. How many times did United States Representative Adam Schiff (D-California; see Of Men Who Keep Not Eternity in Mind) claim to have “evidence” “proving” Trump’s collusion with Russia? They were the ones who engaged in a coup attempt, not the hapless rioters of January 6, 2021, most of whom entered on a lark and wandered aimlessly with no specific purpose in mind.

Sixth, the defenders of “law and order” at the United States Capitol who remain self-righteously sanctimonious about punishing even those who committed no violent acts and had simply permitted themselves to be swept up into the chaos of the moment are, of course, the very ones who indemnified Antifa rioters in Portland, Oregon, who defaced and vandalized  Federal property, including a court house, and the rioters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and elsewhere. Had the shoe been on the other foot two years ago, there is simply no telling what the loose coalition of forces funded by the likes of George Soros might have done to cause chaos if there had been allegations of vote fraud that cost Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., the election.

Seventh, the events of January 6, 2021, have given the enemies of the American concepts of free elections, freedom of speech and freedom of the press within the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” and their sycophantic fellow fascists in the mainslime media, Big Tech and Big Pharma with a bludgeon to intimidate silence all critics of the statist, globalist and truly anti-American policies of the hapless Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. Although these self-anointed “defenders of democracy” are really undisguised fascists, they are shameless in their efforts to curb dissenting speech and to use the plandemic as a means of imposing the sort of repressive measures that exist in Red China, doing so all in the name of “democracy.”

This last point is very important as former President Donald John Trump lives in a world of fantasy in which he can never be wrong about anything, which is why he is constitutionally incapable of accepting the fact that “his” vaccines (gene therapy treatments) have killed and continue to kill thousands of people worldwide in addition to seriously injuring over a million others globally (Trump doubles down on COVID shots, tells Candace Owens they're 'one of the greatest achievements of mankind’). All the poor man has to do is to check the latest statistics of the Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System (VAERS) and then have the intellectual honesty to admit the truth. To do this, however, would mean for him to admit that “Trump” was wrong, and “Trump” does not admit that “Trump” can be wrong about anything.

These are facts, facts that are bolstered by the evidence of actual scientists, not ideologues such as Anthony Fauci, who continue to warn those who have the intellectual honesty to consider facts in a spirit of rationality that the “vaccines” are gene therapy treatments that are injuring people now and will continue to do in the future as they shed spike proteins to infect the vaccinated and unvaccinated alike (see Dr. Peter McCullough—The Inexplicable Suppression of Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, and Other COVID-19 Treatments, par one and Dr. Peter McCullough on Omicron Realities and VAERS Reports on Vaccine Injuries and Deaths, part two) while protecting no one against a disease that can certainly make people who get it very sick and cause death in those who do not get proper treatment or are elderly and/or have preexisting co-morbidities. Unfortunately, Donald John Trump lives in a fact-free world when the facts contradict the fantasies he has conjured up in his own imagination about his invincibility and infallibility, making him, as per usual, his own worst enemy and an easy target for the vast multitude of fascists in the Federal government (“incitement to insurrection”) and in the governments of the State of New York (alleged financial irregularities with the Trump organization) who want to find a pretext to indict him to prevent him from running from re-election in 2024.

As noted just above, the events of January 6, 2021, were needless. As explained in Put Not Your Trust in Princes: In the Children of Men in Who There is No Salvation, a mature person who had the capacity to accept the will of God in his life would have understood that there was no rational good to be accomplished in raising the hopes of his political supporters that there was even the ghost of a constitutional or legal chance for the results of an election that involved the misuse of mail-in ballots, the overcounting of Biden votes and undercounting of Trump votes, (Narrative of a perfect 2020 election eroding as Wisconsin becomes investigative ground zero), wholesale disposals of votes and, in one celebrated case, a postal truckload of mail-in votes being driven from Bethpage, New York, to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (Whistleblower Drove Ballots From New York to Pennsylvania), to be overturned.

It is one thing to believe that one has been the potential victim of fraud, but it is quite another not to recognize that one is not going to realize justice in all the circumstances of one’s life in this passing, mortal vale of tears and that one has to have the wisdom to know what is prudent and what is intemperate. Donald John Trump does not have this wisdom as he does not know God, Whose Holy Name he uses in vain quite regularly, as He has revealed Himself to us through His true Church, does not have belief in, access to, and cooperation with Sanctifying Grace and thus does not understand that nothing any of us suffer in this life—including the loss of an election—is the equal of what one of our least Venial Sins caused Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death on the wood of the Holy Cross on Good Friday and that caused His Most Blessed Mother to suffer in perfect compassion with Him.

Although former President Donald John Trump has certainly been the victim of those who hate him because they hate anyone who disagrees with them and has the ability to win office despite their claims that “democracy” is “endangered” by elections conducted on any terms other than their own and/or produce results other than the ones they try to engineer so demagogically and deceitfully, the fact of his victimization does not indemnify his bad decisions, especially with respect to the choosing of personnel to serve in his administration, inattention to detail, his obsession with twitter and constant self-justification, and his refusal to listen to constructive advice from his political allies.

Nations Founded and Steeped in Error Must Degenerate into Totalitarianism Over Time

Our salvation is not to be had in the farce of the clash between the members of the organized crime families of the false opposites of the naturalist “left” and “right,” which is why is why it is important for readers of this site to remember that it is impossible to produce the conditions conductive to social comity while men continue to live as the enemies of the King of Kings Who was made manifesto the Kings of the Gentiles. Saints Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar worshiped the Baby King, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but the lords of Modernity want us to worship them and to obey their “infallible” commands and diktats without complaint.  We are undergoing a chastisement that is long overdue, a chastisement that, if we are honest with ourselves, we deserve solely for our own sins of lethargic self-indulgence, worldliness, and the countless numbers of invisible compromises we have made with the world and its false allures.

This chastisement is long overdue as a world bereft of a due submission to the Catholic Church in all that pertains to the good of souls is a world that has descended into the depths of madness in which contingent beings who did not create themselves and whose bodies are destined one day for the corruption of the grave have determined that they can play God with impunity and, quite indeed, be heralded for their being “champions” of scientific research. No one, of course, is supposed to notice that the “research” being conducted at this time is identical to what was being done by mad scientists in the German “Weimar Republic” between 1919-1933 and under the so-called “Third Reich” of Adolph Hitler between 1933 and 1945.

Most of the people alive today are so distracted with bread and circuses that they have grown “comfortable” with and/or “indifferent” to the daily slaughter of the innocent preborn by surgical means and completely ignorant of the fact that, to quote the late Father Paul Marx, O.S.B., “most contraceptives abort, and most contraceptives abort all the time.” There is near-universal support for the myth of “brain death”/human organ vivisection and transplantation and “palliative”/hospice “care.” Even sadder still, most people alive today think nothing of blasphemy, immodesty, indecency, impurity, or “little” acts of dishonesty in their own daily lives.

God the Holy Ghost Himself inspired these words that apply to the situation that faces us today:

[34] Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable. (Proverbs 14: 34.) 

The United States of America has long sanctioned sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance under cover of the civil law and in every nook and cranny of what passes for popular culture. 

Yet it is that even many fully traditional Catholics in the catacombs continue to believe that this or that election is going to retard the advance of the grave evils that are the product of the natural degeneration of the welter of naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferent, semi-Pelagian errors of the founders, some of whom had a founding hatred for Christ the King.

The denial of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ’s Incarnation and of His Redemptive Act on the wood of the Holy Cross is at the foundation of both the theory and the praxis of the modern civil state, including the United States of America. Popes Gregory XVI and Pius IX explained quite prophetically that a world resting on such falsehoods would wind up crashing upon their rocky shoals:

"This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. "But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error," as Augustine was wont to say. When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly "the bottomless pit" is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws -- in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty.

Here We must include that harmful and never sufficiently denounced freedom to publish any writings whatever and disseminate them to the people, which some dare to demand and promote with so great a clamor. We are horrified to see what monstrous doctrines and prodigious errors are disseminated far and wide in countless books, pamphlets, and other writings which, though small in weight, are very great in malice. We are in tears at the abuse which proceeds from them over the face of the earth. Some are so carried away that they contentiously assert that the flock of errors arising from them is sufficiently compensated by the publication of some book which defends religion and truth. Every law condemns deliberately doing evil simply because there is some hope that good may result. Is there any sane man who would say poison ought to be distributed, sold publicly, stored, and even drunk because some antidote is available and those who use it may be snatched from death again and again? (Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832.)

"But, although we have not omitted often to proscribe and reprobate the chief errors of this kind, yet the cause of the Catholic Church, and the salvation of souls entrusted to us by God, and the welfare of human society itself, altogether demand that we again stir up your pastoral solicitude to exterminate other evil opinions, which spring forth from the said errors as from a fountain. Which false and perverse opinions are on that ground the more to be detested, because they chiefly tend to this, that that salutary influence be impeded and (even) removed, which the Catholic Church, according to the institution and command of her Divine Author, should freely exercise even to the end of the world -- not only over private individuals, but over nations, peoples, and their sovereign princes; and (tend also) to take away that mutual fellowship and concord of counsels between Church and State which has ever proved itself propitious and salutary, both for religious and civil interests.

"For you well know, venerable brethren, that at this time men are found not a few who, applying to civil society the impious and absurd principle of "naturalism," as they call it, dare to teach that "the best constitution of public society and (also) civil progress altogether require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion any more than if it did not exist; or, at least, without any distinction being made between the true religion and false ones." And, against the doctrine of Scripture, of the Church, and of the Holy Fathers, they do not hesitate to assert that "that is the best condition of civil society, in which no duty is recognized, as attached to the civil power, of restraining by enacted penalties, offenders against the Catholic religion, except so far as public peace may require." From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, an "insanity," viz., that "liberty of conscience and worship is each man's personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, whereby they may be able openly and publicly to manifest and declare any of their ideas whatever, either by word of mouth, by the press, or in any other way." But, while they rashly affirm this, they do not think and consider that they are preaching "liberty of perdition;" and that "if human arguments are always allowed free room for discussion, there will never be wanting men who will dare to resist truth, and to trust in the flowing speech of human wisdom; whereas we know, from the very teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, how carefully Christian faith and wisdom should avoid this most injurious babbling."

"And, since where religion has been removed from civil society, and the doctrine and authority of divine revelation repudiated, the genuine notion itself of justice and human right is darkened and lost, and the place of true justice and legitimate right is supplied by material force, thence it appears why it is that some, utterly neglecting and disregarding the surest principles of sound reason, dare to proclaim that "the people's will, manifested by what is called public opinion or in some other way, constitutes a supreme law, free from all divine and human control; and that in the political order accomplished facts, from the very circumstance that they are accomplished, have the force of right." But who, does not see and clearly perceive that human society, when set loose from the bonds of religion and true justice, can have, in truth, no other end than the purpose of obtaining and amassing wealth, and that (society under such circumstances) follows no other law in its actions, except the unchastened desire of ministering to its own pleasure and interests?" (Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864.)

Anything who thinks that these words do not apply to our world today is not thinking very clearly whatsoever.

Father Denis Fahey pointed out that the rejection of the Divine Plan that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the High Priest and King of redeemed mankind, by the modern world results in the divination of humanity, of man, which is what we are witnessing very clearly today:

By the grace of the Headship of the Mystical Body, our Lord Jesus Christ is both Priest and King of redeemed mankind and, as such, exercises a twofold influence upon us. Firstly, as a Priest, He communicates to us the supernatural life of grace by which we, while ever remaining distinct from God, can enter into the vision and love of the Blessed Trinity. We can thus become one with God, not, of course, in the order of substance or being, but in the order of operation, of the immaterial union of vision and love. The Divine Nature is the principle of the Divine Vision and Love, and by grace we are ‘made partakers of the Divine Nature.’ This pure Catholic doctrine is infinitely removed from Masonic pantheism. Secondly, as King, our Lord exercises an exterior influence on us by His government of us. As King, He guides and directs us socially and individually, in order to dispose all things for the reception of the Supernatural Life which He, as Priest, confers.

Society had been organized in the thirteenth century and even down to the sixteenth, under the banner of Christ the King. Thus, in spite of deficiencies and imperfections, man’s divinization, through the Life that comes from the sacred Humanity of Jesus, was socially favoured. Modern society, under the influence of Satan, was to be organized on the opposite principle, namely, that human nature is of itself divine, that man is God, and, therefore, subject to nobody. Accordingly, when the favourable moment had arrived, the Masonic divnization of human nature found its expression in the Declaration of the Rights of Man in 1789. The French Revolution ushered in the struggle for the complete organization of the world around the new divinity–Humanity. In God’s plan, the whole organization of a country is meant to aid the development of a country is meant to aid the development of the true personality of the citizens through the Mystical Body of Christ. Accordingly, the achievement of true liberty for a country means the removal of obstacles to the organized social acceptance of the Divine Plan. Every revolution since 1789 tends, on the contrary, to the rejection of that plan, and therefore to the enthronement of man in the place of God. The freedom at which the spirit of the revolution aims is that absolute independence which refuses submission to any and every order. It is the spirit breathed by the temptation of the serpent: ‘For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened; and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’ Man decided then that he would himself lay down the order of good and evil in the place of God; then and now it is the same attitude. (Father Denis Fahey, The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World, p. 27.)   

As Pope Leo XIII noted at the beginning of Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae:

The world has heard enough of the so-called "rights of man." Let it hear something of the rights of God. That the time is suitable is proved by the very general revival of religious feeling already referred to, and especially that devotion towards Our Saviour of which there are so many indications, and which, please God, we shall hand on to the New Century as a pledge of happier times to come. But as this consummation cannot be hoped for except by the aid of divine grace, let us strive in prayer, with united heart and voice, to incline Almighty God unto mercy, that He would not suffer those to perish whom He had redeemed by His Blood. May He look down in mercy upon this world, which has indeed sinned much, but which has also suffered much in expiation! And, embracing in His loving-kindness all races and classes of mankind, may He remember His own words: "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all things to Myself" (John xii., 32).  (Pope Leo XIII, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900.)

Pope Leo XIII’s successor, Pope Saint Pius X, explained in his first encyclical letter, E Supremi, October 4, 1903, that he, though considering himself unworthy to be a Successor of Saint Peter, accepted the vote of the college of cardinals to do the work of “restoring all things in Christ. His Holiness explained that men had indeed put themselves in the place of God, which is why it was necessary for him to exhort Catholics to pray for the restoration that is to come:

Then again, to omit other motives, We were terrified beyond all else by the disastrous state of human society today. For who can fail to see that society is at the present time, more than in any past age, suffering from a terrible and deep-rooted malady which, developing every day and eating into its inmost being, is dragging it to destruction? You understand, Venerable Brethren, what this disease is — apostasy from God, than which in truth nothing is more allied with ruin, according to the word of the Prophet: “For behold they that go far from Thee shall perish” (Ps. 1xxii., 17). We saw therefore that, in virtue of the ministry of the Pontificate, which was to be entrusted to Us, We must hasten to find a remedy for this great evil, considering as addressed to Us that Divine command: “Lo, I have set thee this day over the nations and over kingdoms, to root up, and to pull down, and to waste, and to destroy, and to build, and to plant” (Jerem. i., 10). But, cognizant of Our weakness, We recoiled in terror from a task as urgent as it is arduous.

4. Since, however, it has been pleasing to the Divine Will to raise Our lowliness to such sublimity of power, We take courage in Him who strengthens Us; and setting Ourselves to work, relying on the power of God, We proclaim that We have no other program in the Supreme Pontificate but that “of restoring all things in Christ” (Ephes. i., 10), so that “Christ may be all and in all” (Coloss. iii., 2). Some will certainly be found who, measuring Divine things by human standards will seek to discover secret aims of Ours, distorting them to an earthly scope and to partisan designs. To eliminate all vain delusions for such, We say to them with emphasis that We do not wish to be, and with the Divine assistance never shall be aught before human society but the Minister of God, of whose authority We are the depositary. The interests of God shall be Our interest, and for these We are resolved to spend all Our strength and Our very life. Hence, should anyone ask Us for a symbol as the expression of Our will, We will give this and no other: “To renew all things in Christ.” In undertaking this glorious task, We are greatly quickened by the certainty that We shall have all of you, Venerable Brethren, as generous co-operators. Did We doubt it We should have to regard you, unjustly, as either unconscious or heedless of that sacrilegious war which is now, almost everywhere, stirred up and fomented against God. For in truth, “The nations have raged and the peoples imagined vain things” (Ps. ii., 1.) against their Creator, so frequent is the cry of the enemies of God: “Depart from us” (Job. xxi., 14). And as might be expected we find extinguished among the majority of men all respect for the Eternal God, and no regard paid in the manifestations of public and private life to the Supreme Will — nay, every effort and every artifice is used to destroy utterly the memory and the knowledge of God. (Pope Saint Pius X, E Supremi, October 3, 1904.)

Brief Comment Number One:

The enemies of God cry out more “Depart from us” more loudly today than at any time prior to us as the monstrous developments discussed in this commentary amply demonstrate. Every effort has been and continues to be made to destroy “utterly the memory and knowledge of God,” that is, the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Holy Trinity. These enemies of Divine Revelation have been hard at work in the past one hundred seventeen years, and they have been quite successful at preparing the way for the “Son of Perdition,” Antichrist, of whom Pope Saint Pius X wrote in the next paragraph of E Supremi:

5. When all this is considered there is good reason to fear lest this great perversity may be as it were a foretaste, and perhaps the beginning of those evils which are reserved for the last days; and that there may be already in the world the “Son of Perdition” of whom the Apostle speaks (II. Thess. ii., 3). Such, in truth, is the audacity and the wrath employed everywhere in persecuting religion, in combating the dogmas of the faith, in brazen effort to uproot and destroy all relations between man and the Divinity! While, on the other hand, and this according to the same apostle is the distinguishing mark of Antichrist, man has with infinite temerity put himself in the place of God, raising himself above all that is called God; in such wise that although he cannot utterly extinguish in himself all knowledge of God, he has contemned God’s majesty and, as it were, made of the universe a temple wherein he himself is to be adored. “He sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself as if he were God” (II. Thess. ii., 2). (Pope Saint Pius X, E Supremi, October 4, 1903.)

Brief Comment Number Two:

Man has indeed put himself in the place of God as the very people who deny the existence of truths that exist in the nature of things or have been revealed positively Him and taught by His true Church believe in their own infallibility as they pursue policies that mock His Omnipotence and make pronouncements that defy His eternal laws, which are the foundation of order within the souls of men and thus the foundation of just social orders.

Moreover, Big Pharma and their bought-and-paid-for “scientists” have created poisons that have been marketed as “vaccines” and sold in the midst of an hysteria about a virus that has been used by statists as the means to impose a Red Chinese-style dictatorship upon us all, a dictatorship that views dissent as “insurrection” and that views those who hold proscribed views as “thought criminals” worthy of prosecution and incarceration.  

Meanwhile, of course, American concentration camps and centers of public indoctrination (public schools) have inculcated students in the ways of moral relativism, atheism, utilitarianism, statism, racialism, feminism, egalitarianism, evolutionism, and globalism, producing large numbers of hedonistic atheists who are ignorant of First and Last Things and any concept of true history, and have been taught to hate those who do believe in that which is deemed to be responsible for “injustices,” mostly imagined, of one sort or another.

We must turn to our true popes for guidance. Pope Leo XIII’s immediate successor, Pope Saint Pius X, amplified Pope Leo XIII’s Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus  in E Supremi, October 4, 1903:

6. Verily no one of sound mind can doubt the issue of this contest between man and the Most High. Man, abusing his liberty, can violate the right and the majesty of the Creator of the Universe; but the victory will ever be with God — nay, defeat is at hand at the moment when man, under the delusion of his triumph, rises up with most audacity. Of this we are assured in the holy books by God Himself. Unmindful, as it were, of His strength and greatness, He “overlooks the sins of men” (Wisd. xi., 24), but swiftly, after these apparent retreats, “awaked like a mighty man that hath been surfeited with wine” (Ps. Ixxvii., 65), “He shall break the heads of his enemies” (Ps. Ixvii., 22), that all may know “that God is the king of all the earth” (Ib. Ixvi., 8), “that the Gentiles may know themselves to be men’ (Ib. ix., 20).

7. All this, Venerable Brethren, We believe and expect with unshakable faith. But this does not prevent us also, according to the measure given to each, from exerting ourselves to hasten the work of God — and not merely by praying assiduously: “Arise, O Lord, let not man be strengthened” (Ib. ix., 19), but, more important still, by affirming both by word and deed and in the light of day, God’s supreme dominion over man and all things, so that His right to command and His authority may be fully realized and respected. This is imposed upon us not only as a natural duty, but by our common interest. For, Venerable Brethren, who can avoid being appalled and afflicted when he beholds, in the midst of a progress in civilization which is justly extolled, the greater part of mankind fighting among themselves so savagely as to make it seem as though strife were universal? The desire for peace is certainly harbored in every breast, and there is no one who does not ardently invoke it. But to want peace without God is an absurdity, seeing that where God is absent thence too justice flies, and when justice is taken away it is vain to cherish the hope of peace. “Peace is the work of justice” (Is. xxii., 17). There are many, We are well aware, who, in their yearning for peace, that is for the tranquillity of order, band themselves into societies and parties, which they style parties of order. Hope and labor lost. For there is but one party of order capable of restoring peace in the midst of all this turmoil, and that is the party of God. It is this party, therefore, that we must advance, and to it attract as many as possible, if we are really urged by the love of peace. (Pope Saint Pius X, E Supremi, October 4, 1903.)

Extensive Comment Number Three:

Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., explained the allure of the world’s concept of false liberty in his reflection on the Feast of Pope Saint Eleutherius (commemorated on the Feast of Saint Philip Neri, May 26):

Thy name, O Eleutherius, is the name of every Christian that has risen with Christ. The Pasch has delivered us all, emancipated all, made us all freemen. Pray for us, that we may ever preserve that glorious Liberty of the Children of God, of which the Apostle speaks. By it were we freed from the chains of sin, which consigned us to death; from the slavery of Satan, who would fain have robbed us of our Last End; and from the tyranny of the world, which was deceiving us by its false maxims. The New Life given to us by our Pasch is one that is all of heaven, where our Jesus is awaiting us in glory; to lose it would be to return to slavery. Holy Pontiff! pray for us, that, when the Pasch of next year comes, it may find us in that happy Liberty which the fruit of our having been redeemed by Christ.

There is another kind of Liberty of which the world boasts, and for the acquiring which it sets men at variance with men. It consists in avoiding as a crime all subjection and dependence, and in recognizing no authority except the one appointed by our own elections, which we can remove as soon as we please. Deliver us, O holy Pontiff, from this false Liberty, which is so opposed to the Christian Spirit of obedience, and is simply the triumph of human pride. In its frenzy, it sheds torrents of blood; and with its pompous cant of what it calls the Rights of Man, it substitutes egoism for duty. It acknowledges no such thing as Truth, for it maintains that Error has its sacred rights; it acknowledges no such thing as Good, for it has given up all pretension to preventing Evil. It puts God aside, for it refuses to recognize him in those who govern. It puts upon man the yoke of brute force: it tyrannizes over him by what it calls a “Majority;” and it answers every complaint, that he may make against injustice, by the jargon of “Accomplished Facts.” No—this is not the Liberty into which we are called by Christ, our Deliverer. We are Free, as St. Peter says, and yet make not Liberty a cloak for malice.

O holy Pontiff! show thyself still a Father to the world. During thy peaceful reign, thy throne was near to that of the Cæsars, who governed the Seven Hilled City. They were the Rulers of the world, and yet thy name was revered in every part of their Empire. While the material power held the sword suspended over thy head, the Faithful of various distant lands were flocking to Rome, there to venerate the Tomb of Peter, and pay homage to thee his Successor. When Lucius sent ambassadors from his Island, they turned not their steps to the Emperor’s Palace, but to thine humble dwelling. They came to tell that that a people was called by divine grace, to receive the Good Tidings, and become a portion of the Christian family. The destinies of this people, which thou wast the first to evangelize, were to be great in the Church. The Island of the Britains is a daughter of the Roman Church; and the attempts she is now making to disown her origin are useless. Have pity on her, O thou that wast her first Apostle! Bless the efforts which are being everywhere made to bring her back to unity with the Church. Remember the faith of Lucius and his people; and show thy paternal solicitude for a Country which thou didst lead to the Faith. The truth of the matter, of course, is that false premises always lead to bad results, whose full consequences manifest themselves over the course of time. To make any kind of concessions in the name of a “results-oriented” pragmatism without addressing the fallacy of fundamental premises to consign oneself to a prison of thinking and praxis from which there is, humanly speaking, no escape. It is truly astounding to see “conservatives” in the ecclesiastical realm and in the realm of politics and policy-making keep making the same mistakes repeatedly as they continue to believe that they will obtain different results than they had in the past. Obviously, this is insanity.

Alas, however, despite all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent during the dog and pny shows called elections, Democrats and Republicans in the United States of America agree on the basic naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist and semi-Pelagian principles of the American founding, disagreeing on the specifics as to the conduct of public policy in light of those principles.  Thus it is that "liberal" and "conservative" Catholics accept those same false principles as they diverge on the specifics of public policy according to the political "camp" which they believe represents the best means of achieving various goals. Both "liberal" and "conservative" Catholics are as one in rejecting the simple truths of the Catholic Faith as binding upon their consciences and that they apply to the concrete circumstances to be found in the United States of America, believing that their naturalistic or non-denominational ideas and plans and strategies can "win the day" for their respective causes.

Such beliefs are delusional.

Our true popes have taught why this is so:

To hold, therefore, that there is no difference in matters of religion between forms that are unlike each other, and even contrary to each other, most clearly leads in the end to the rejection of all religion in both theory and practice. And this is the same thing as atheism, however it may differ from it in name. Men who really believe in the existence of God must, in order to be consistent with themselves and to avoid absurd conclusions, understand that differing modes of divine worship involving dissimilarity and conflict even on most important points cannot all be equally probable, equally good, and equally acceptable to God. (Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885.)

But in this same matter, touching Christian faith, there are other duties whose exact and religious observance, necessary at all times in the interests of eternal salvation, become more especially so in these our days. Amid such reckless and widespread folly of opinion, it is, as We have said, the office of the Church to undertake the defense of truth and uproot errors from the mind, and this charge has to be at all times sacredly observed by her, seeing that the honor of God and the salvation of men are confided to her keeping. But, when necessity compels, not those only who are invested with power of rule are bound to safeguard the integrity of faith, but, as St. Thomas maintains: "Each one is under obligation to show forth his faith, either to instruct and encourage others of the faithful, or to repel the attacks of unbelievers." To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth, is the part of a man either devoid of character or who entertains doubt as to the truth of what he professes to believe. In both cases such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God, and both are incompatible with the salvation of mankind. This kind of conduct is profitable only to the enemies of the faith, for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good. Moreover, want of vigor on the part of Christians is so much the more blameworthy, as not seldom little would be needed on their part to bring to naught false charges and refute erroneous opinions, and by always exerting themselves more strenuously they might reckon upon being successful. After all, no one can be prevented from putting forth that strength of soul which is the characteristic of true Christians, and very frequently by such display of courage our enemies lose heart and their designs are thwarted. Christians are, moreover, born for combat, whereof the greater the vehemence, the more assured, God aiding, the triumph: "Have confidence; I have overcome the world." Nor is there any ground for alleging that Jesus Christ, the Guardian and Champion of the Church, needs not in any manner the help of men. Power certainly is not wanting to Him, but in His loving kindness He would assign to us a share in obtaining and applying the fruits of salvation procured through His grace.

The chief elements of this duty consist in professing openly and unflinchingly the Catholic doctrine, and in propagating it to the utmost of our power. For, as is often said, with the greatest truth, there is nothing so hurtful to Christian wisdom as that it should not be known, since it possesses, when loyally received, inherent power to drive away error. (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)

A system of morality based exclusively on human reason robs man of his highest dignity and lowers him from the supernatural to the merely natural life. Not but that man is able by the right use of reason to know and to obey certain principles of the natural law. But though he should know them all and keep them inviolate through life-and even this is impossible without the aid of the grace of our Redeemer-still it is vain for anyone without faith to promise himself eternal salvation. "If anyone abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire, and he burneth" john xv., 6). "He that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark xvi., 16). We have but too much evidence of the value and result of a morality divorced from divine faith. How is it that, in spite of all the zeal for the welfare of the masses, nations are in such straits and even distress, and that the evil is daily on the increase? We are told that society is quite able to help itself; that it can flourish without the assistance of Christianity, and attain its end by its own unaided efforts. Public administrators prefer a purely secular system of government. All traces of the religion of our forefathers are daily disappearing from political life and administration. What blindness! Once the idea of the authority of God as the Judge of right and wrong is forgotten, law must necessarily lose its primary authority and justice must perish: and these are the two most powerful and most necessary bonds of society. Similarly, once the hope and expectation of eternal happiness is taken away, temporal goods will be greedily sought after. Every man will strive to secure the largest share for himself. Hence arise envy, jealousy, hatred. The consequences are conspiracy, anarchy, nihilism. There is neither peace abroad nor security at home. Public life is stained with crime.

So great is this struggle of the passions and so serious the dangers involved, that we must either anticipate ultimate ruin or seek for an efficient remedy. It is of course both right and necessary to punish malefactors, to educate the masses, and by legislation to prevent crime in every possible way: but all this is by no means sufficient. The salvation of the nations must be looked for higher. A power greater than human must be called in to teach men's hearts, awaken in them the sense of duty, and make them better. This is the power which once before saved the world from destruction when groaning under much more terrible evils. Once remove all impediments and allow the Christian spirit to revive and grow strong in a nation, and that nation will be healed. The strife between the classes and the masses will die away; mutual rights will be respected. If Christ be listened to, both rich and poor will do their duty. The former will realise that they must observe justice and charity, the latter self-restraint and moderation, if both are to be saved. Domestic life will be firmly established ( by the salutary fear of God as the Lawgiver. In the same way the precepts of the natural law, which dictates respect for lawful authority and obedience to the laws, will exercise their influence over the people. Seditions and conspiracies will cease. Wherever Christianity rules over all without let or hindrance there the order established by Divine Providence is preserved, and both security and prosperity are the happy result. The common welfare, then, urgently demands a return to Him from whom we should never have gone astray; to Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and this on the part not only of individuals but of society as a whole. We must restore Christ to this His own rightful possession. All elements of the national life must be made to drink in the Life which proceedeth from Him- legislation, political institutions, education, marriage and family life, capital and labour. Everyone must see that the very growth of civilisation which is so ardently desired depends greatly upon this, since it is fed and grows not so much by material wealth and prosperity, as by the spiritual qualities of morality and virtue. . . . . for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1950.)

The words of our true popes are either true or they are not. If they are true, which they are, of course, then they are merely expressions of what is in fact true and thus binding upon all men in all places at all times without exception.

Yes, true, we live in the midst of a world where these truths are rejected by most Catholics, principally because they (and their parents and grandparents and great grandparents) were never taught anything about them by the true bishops of the past or by their worthy successors in the Americanist heresy, the faux bishops of the United States of America.

Some might argue that we have do “what we can” to retard evils, making whatever compromises in the practical order of things that appear to be justified by the circumstances, including voting for odious candidates who will not only not retard evils but will make sure that they become more and more institutionalized and as they themselves become willing enablers and accomplices in the growth of the “soft” totalitarianism of the modern police state.

There is nothing that I can write that will dissuade people form believing what they want to believe. 

As one who has followed politics since the presidential election of 1956 when I was five years of age and who has made its study my life’s work as a college professor, writer and speaker, I know all too well that the trajectory of degeneration that has occurred in the past six decades despite all of the most well-intentioned efforts to “stop” this or that boogeyman or to oppose or to support this or that Congressional legislation. Futility awaits those who put their hopes in the ability of naturalists to combat the evils that are caused by naturalism.

Pope Pius XI, writing in his first encyclical letter Ubi Arcano Dei Consiliio, December 23, 1922, explained the nature of most political parties with great exactitude, an analysis whose truth has been demonstrated repeatedly in the last ninety-two years:

To these evils we must add the contests between political parties, many of which struggles do not originate in a real difference of opinion concerning the public good or in a laudable and disinterested search for what would best promote the common welfare, but in the desire for power and for the protection of some private interest which inevitably result in injury to the citizens as a whole. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)

Fools continue to ignore the teaching of our true popes, and fools there are aplenty in the midst of the madness that is the civil world of Modernity and the ecclesiastical world of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

As Silvio Cardinal Antoniano noted in the Sixteenth Century:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, as quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

God the Holy Ghost saw fit to instruct us in Sacred Scripture, including in the passage from the Book of Proverbs that was quoted at the just above:

[34] Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable. (Proverbs 14: 34.)

Christ the King will not be mocked. He will suffer the sins of men so that they and their nations might be brought to repentance. He is not, however, indifferent to that which caused Him to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death on the wood of the Holy Cross, sin, and that wounds the Church Militant on earth and impedes the pursuit of the true common temporal good of men and their nations.

Perhaps it would be good to consider the following words from Pope Pius XII’s encyclical letter on the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in order to contrast the spirit of hatred that motivates the leaders of this passing world with the tender mercies of the Divine Redeemer, Christ the King, Who was made manifest to the Gentile Kings on the Feast of the Epiphany that is still being observed as octave in those chapels that adhere to the General Roman Calendar of 1954.

Pope Pius XII emphasized that devotion to the Most Sacred Heart is not “burdensome” and is at the heart of fighting for Christ the King and His rights in the midst of a world that is cold and hostile to Him:

8. The Church has always valued, and still does, the devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus so highly that she provides for the spread of it among Christian peoples everywhere and by every means. At the same time she uses every effort to protect it against the charges of so-called “naturalism” and “sentimentalism.” In spite of this it is much to be regretted that, both in the past and in our own times, this most noble devotion does not find a place of honor and esteem among certain Christians and even occasionally not among those who profess themselves moved by zeal for the Catholic religion and the attainment of holiness.

9. “If you but knew the gift of God.”[7] With these words, venerable brethren, We who in the secret designs of God have been elected as the guardians and stewards of the sacred treasures of faith and piety which the divine Redeemer has entrusted to His Church, prompted by Our sense of duty, admonish them all.

10. For even though the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus has triumphed so to speak, over the errors and the neglect of men, and has penetrated entirely His Mystical Body; still there are some of Our children who, led astray by prejudices, sometimes go so far as to consider this devotion ill-adapted, not to say detrimental, to the more pressing spiritual needs of the Church and humanity in this present age. There are some who, confusing and confounding the primary nature of this devotion with various individual forms of piety which the Church approves and encourages but does not command, regard this as a kind of additional practice which each one may take up or not according to his own inclination.

11. There are others who reckon this same devotion burdensome and of little or no use to men who are fighting in the army of the divine King and who are inspired mainly by the thought of laboring with their own strength, their own resources and expenditures of their own time, to defend Catholic truth, to teach and spread it, to instill Christian social teachings, to promote those acts of religion and those undertakings which they consider much more necessary today. (Pope Pius XII, Haurietis Aquas, May 15, 1956.)

A Brief Comment:

Paragraph 11, above, summarizes the beliefs of so many Catholics who permit themselves to be drawn into the agitation of the conflicts between the false opposites of the naturalist “left” and “right” that are simply manifestations of the anti-Incarnational Judeo-Masonic spirit of Modernity and can never be in the service of promoting a genuine social order.

Pope Pius XII went on to explain the attitude of those who consider devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to be suited only for women and not for “educated men” even though it is a strong antidote to the sophistries of Modernity:

12. Again, there are those who so far from considering this devotion a strong support for the right ordering and renewal of Christian morals both in the individual’s private life and in the home circle, see it rather a type of piety nourished not by the soul and mind but by the senses and consequently more suited to the use of women, since it seems to them something not quite suitable for educated men.

13. Moreover there are those who consider a devotion of this kind as primarily demanding penance, expiation and the other virtues which they call “passive,” meaning thereby that they produce no external results. Hence they do not think it suitable to re-enkindle the spirit of piety in modern times. Rather, this should aim at open and vigorous action, at the triumph of the Catholic faith, at a strong defense of Christian morals. Christian morality today, as everyone knows, is easily contaminated by the sophistries of those who are indifferent to any form of religion, and who, discarding all distinctions between truth and falsehood, whether in thought or in practice, accept even the most ignoble corruptions of materialistic atheism, or as they call it, secularism.

14. Who does not see, venerable brethren, that opinions of this kind are in entire disagreement with the teachings which Our predecessors officially proclaimed from this seat of truth when approving the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.? Who would be so bold as to call that devotion useless and inappropriate to our age which Our predecessor of immortal memory, Leo XIII, declared to be “the most acceptable form of piety?” He had no doubt that in it there was a powerful remedy for the healing of those very evils which today also, and beyond question in a wider and more serious way, bring distress and disquiet to individuals and to the whole human race. “This devotion,” he said, “which We recommend to all, will be profitable to all.” And he added this counsel and encouragement with reference to the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: “. . .hence those forces of evil which have now for so long a time been taking root and which so fiercely compel us to seek help from Him by Whose strength alone they can be driven away. Who can He be but Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God? ‘For there is no other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved.’[8] We must have recourse to Him Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”[9]

15. No less to be approved, no less suitable for the fostering of Christian piety was this devotion declared to be by Our predecessor of happy memory, Pius XI. In an encyclical letter he wrote: “Is not a summary of all our religion and, moreover, a guide to a more perfect life contained in this one devotion? Indeed, it more easily leads our minds to know Christ the Lord intimately and more effectively turns our hearts to love Him more ardently and to imitate Him more perfectly.”[10]

16. To Us, no less than to Our predecessors, these capital truths are clear and certain. When We took up Our office of Supreme Pontiff and saw, in full accord with Our prayers and desires, that the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus had increased and was actually, so to speak, making triumphal progress among Christian peoples, We rejoiced that from it were flowing through the whole Church innumerable and salutary results. This We were pleased to point out in Our first encyclical letter.[11]

17. Through the years of Our pontificate — years filled not only with bitter hardships but also with ineffable consolations these effects have not diminished in number or power or beauty, but on the contrary have increased. Indeed, happily there has begun a variety of projects which are conducive to a rekindling of this devotion. We refer to the formation of cultural associations for the advancement of religion and of charitable works; publications setting forth the true historical, ascetical and mystical doctrine concerning this entire subject; pious works of atonement; and in particular those manifestations of most ardent piety which the Apostleship of Prayer has brought about, under whose auspices and direction local gatherings — families, colleges, institutions — and sometimes nations have been consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. To all these We have offered paternal congratulations on many occasions, whether in letters written on the subject, in personal addresses, or even in messages delivered over the radio.[12]

18. Therefore when We perceive so fruitful an abundance of healing waters, that is, heavenly gifts of divine love, issuing from the Sacred Heart of our Redeemer, spreading among countless children of the Catholic Church by the inspiration and action of the divine Spirit; We can only exhort you, venerable brethren, with fatherly affection to join Us in giving tribute of praise and heartfelt thanks to God, the Giver of all good gifts. We make Our own these words of the Apostle of the Gentiles: “Now to Him Who is able to do all things more abundantly than we desire or understand, according to the power that worketh in us, to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations world without end. Amen.”[13]

19. But after We have paid Our debt of thanks to the Eternal God, We wish to urge on you and on all Our beloved children of the Church a more earnest consideration of those principles which take their origin from Scripture and the teaching of the Fathers and theologians and on which, as on solid foundations, the worship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus rests. We are absolutely convinced that not until we have made a profound study of the primary and loftier nature of this devotion with the aid of the light of the divinely revealed truth, can we rightly and fully appreciate its incomparable excellence and the inexhaustible abundance of its heavenly favors. Likewise by devout meditation and contemplation of the innumerable benefits produced from it, we will be able to celebrate worthily the completion of the first hundred years since the observance of the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was extended to the Universal Church. Our last true Holy Father thus far explained the spirit of the hatred of God that was at work in the world sixty-seven years ago and can be said to be at the foundation of modern politics as nihilists of the “left” and the “right” eschew the life-giving waters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the truths of the Holy Faith that can and do lift the minds and hearts of men to the things that eternal, in the light of which all things earthy must be judged:

117. And there is more. For if We experience bitter sorrow at the feeble loyalty of the good in whose souls, tricked by a deceptive desire for earthly possessions, the fire of divine charity grows cool and gradually dies out, much more is Our heart deeply grieved by the machinations of evil men who, as if instigated by Satan himself, are now more than ever zealous in their open and implacable hatred against God, against the Church and above all against him who on earth represents the Person of the divine Redeemer and exhibits His love towards men, in accordance with that well-known saying of the Doctor of Milan: “For (Peter) is being questioned about that which is uncertain, though the Lord is not uncertain; He is questioning not that He may learn, but that He may teach the one whom, at His ascent into Heaven, He was leaving to us as ‘the representative of His love.'”[116]

118. But, in truth, hatred of God and of those who lawfully act in His place is the greatest kind of sin that can be committed by man created in the image and likeness of God and destined to enjoy His perfect and enduring friendship for ever in heaven. Man, by hatred of God more than by anything else, is cut off from the Highest Good and is driven to cast aside from himself and from those near to him whatever has its origin in God, whatever is united with God, whatever leads to the enjoyment of God, that is, truth, virtue, peace and justice.[117]

119. Since then, alas, one can see that the number of those whose boast is that they are God’s enemies is in some places increasing, that the false slogans of materialism are being spread by act and argument, and unbridled license for unlawful desires is everywhere being praised, is it remarkable that love, which is the supreme law of the Christian religion, the surest foundation of true and perfect justice and the chief source of peace and innocent pleasures, loses its warmth in the souls of many? For as our Savior warned us: “Because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold.”[118]

120. When so many evils meet Our gaze — such as cause sharp conflict among individuals, families, nations and the whole world, particularly today more than at any other time — where are We to seek a remedy, venerable brethren? Can a form of devotion surpassing that to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be found, which corresponds better to the essential character of the Catholic faith, which is more capable of assisting the present-day needs of the Church and the human race? What religious practice is more excellent, more attractive, more salutary than this, since the devotion in question is entirely directed towards the love of God itself?[119] (Pope Pius XII, Haurietis Aquas, May 15, 1956.)

Pope Pius XII was referring to the false slogans of materialism being spread by Communists sixty-seven years ago, but we know only too well that Communist apologists, if not actual Communists, hold the levers of global power today, including here in the United States of America, where many “respected” opinion-makers believe that the time has come for a formal censorship of any speech that is opposed to “democracy,” meaning opposed to the statist/globalist program for the New World Order. The charity of men hath indeed grown cold because of men’s hatred of God, and it is an easy thing to hate His rational creatures if one hates the very Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier.

Linking devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pope Pius XII explained that a rekindling of a love for God in the hearts of men would lead to the reconstruction of a just social order on the right principles of the true Faith:

123. Finally, moved by an earnest desire to set strong bulwarks against the wicked designs of those who hate God and the Church and, at the same time, to lead men back again, in their private and public life, to a love of God and their neighbor, We do not hesitate to declare that devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the most effective school of the love of God; the love of God, We say, which must be the foundation on which to build the kingdom of God in the hearts of individuals, families, and nations, as that same predecessor of pious memory wisely reminds us: “The reign of Jesus Christ takes its strength and form from divine love: to love with holiness and order is its foundation and its perfection. From it these must flow: to perform duties without blame; to take away nothing of another’s right; to guide the lower human affairs by heavenly principles; to give the love of God precedence over all other creatures.”[124]

124. In order that favors in greater abundance may flow on all Christians, nay, on the whole human race, from the devotion to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus, let the faithful see to it that to this devotion the Immaculate Heart of the Mother of God is closely joined. For, by God’s Will, in carrying out the work of human Redemption the Blessed Virgin Mary was inseparably linked with Christ in such a manner that our salvation sprang from the love and the sufferings of Jesus Christ to which the love and sorrows of His Mother were intimately united. It is, then, entirely fitting that the Christian people — who received the divine life from Christ through Mary — after they have paid their debt of honor to the Sacred Heart of Jesus should also offer to the most loving Heart of their heavenly Mother the corresponding acts of piety affection, gratitude and expiation. Entirely in keeping with this most sweet and wise disposition of divine Providence is the memorable act of consecration by which We Ourselves solemnly dedicated Holy Church and the whole world to the spotless Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.[125] (Pope Pius XII, Haurietis Aquas, May 15, 1956.)

Turn away from the conflicts between the false opposites of the naturalist “left” and “right” that are nothing other than sideshows concocted in the laboratories of hell and designed to convince men that it is through violent confrontations that injustices can be remedied and a sense of “liberty” that has always been licentiousness and not true liberty can be “enjoyed” again. The standard of the Holy Cross of Our Divine Redeemer, Christ the King, is the one and only standard of true liberty for men and their nations.

No, it is only by adherence to our Catholic Faith as we prostrate ourselves before Our Eucharistic King and pledge ourselves to Him through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary to His own Most Sacred Heart that we can find a remedy in the souls of individual men to help them overcome the conflicts and agitations of the moment and thus rise to the heights of personal sanctity.

This world in which we live is passing away. The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be made manifest ‘ere long. We must be focused on the sanctification and salvation of our own immortal souls as we keep our First Friday devotions with fervor and pray Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary every day, including on each First Saturday for the intentions specified by the Mother of God in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal, and to Sister Lucia dos Santos in Tuy, Spain.

As I noted two years ago and again last year, put not your trust in princes, in the children of men in whom there is no salvation.

Put your trust in the Most Sacred Heart of Christ the King and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as one’s state-in-life permits.
