Biden and Friends Despoil, Profane, and Mock Easter Sunday
Yesterday, March 31, 2024, was Easter Sunday, the zenith of Holy Mother Church’s liturgical year. The Word Who was made Incarnate in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of His Most Blessed Mother, she who was to become the Queen of Martyrs on Calvary, has undergone His Passion and Death, and has Risen from the dead.
Our Lord’s Resurrection was not a “resuscitation” of bodily life such as the miracles that He had wrought with others, most especially his friend Lazarus of Bethany. Our Lord’s Resurrection was a transformation from a mortal bodily life to a glorified life that could no longer taste death and had the properties of impassibility, translucence, subtlety, and agility. These are the properties that await all the souls of the just when their mortal remains are raised up on the Last Day at the General Judgment to receive the reward that is their due for having died in a state of Sanctifying Grace.
The entirety of the Easter Season—from Easter Sunday to Ascension Thursday to Pentecost Sunday—is but a foretaste of the heavenly joys that await us if only we persevere until the end as members of the Catholic Church by having died in in her ineffable graces. This season of glorious celebration is meant to be an oasis from the muck and the mire of the world, a world that marred by the ugliness of sins, especially our own, of course, and by the bold celebration all sin, malice, and perversity in every precinct of what passes for popular culture and is enshrined in civil law,
Yet it is the glory of Easter is mostly unknown in a world today that is characterized by filth, indecency, immodesty, obscenity, scurrility, hatred, violence, contempt, blasphemy, sacrilege, practical atheism, religious indifferentism, pantheism, paganism, materialism, secularism, naturalism, nationalism, utilitarianism, hedonism, heathenism, barbarism, statism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism, and a transference of religious faith from the true Church to politics, political parties, politicians, and celebrities of one sort or another.
Although efforts to “neutralize” Easter began long ago with the rise of the pagan Easter bunny, which was popularized by Lutherans in Germany, recent decades have seen concerted attempts to replace every major Christian feast with some pagan celebration of one sort or another.
Christmas was shorted to X-mas before becoming the “inclusive” “holiday season” and, in the latter part of the Twentieth Century, was competing with the entirely made-up African Marxist “Kwanza.”
The month of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the month of June, is referred to by many today as “Pride Month” to honor the “courage” to commit perverse sins against the Sixth and Ninth Commandments and, of course, against nature itself.
The European thanksgiving of Martins Mass has given way to the Calvinist/Judeo-Masonic thanksgiving day, which is day of abject religious indifferentism wherein many people gather around dining room tables to argue about politics and to give “thanks,” as they see it, to live in a world where they can kill their babies.
As I have noted in other commentaries, the penitential season of Lent is littered with sports events, motion picture and recording awards ceremonies and, quadrennially, is featured with the din of presidential politics.
Very few people pay any attention to the solemn celebrations of the Paschal Triduum. Indeed, it was on Maundy Thursday, March 28, 2024, that none other than the “good Catholic,” Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., attended a gala fundraising event in the Borough of Manhattan in the City of New York, New York.
Historically Catholic churches such as the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in the same Borough of Manhattan have been targeted for “protests,” usually by “activists” associated with the secular agents of perversity and sacrilege (there are plenty of those within the counterfeit church of conciliarism, of course) have sought to make spectacles of themselves and/or to interrupt ceremonies. One such instance was chronicled over six weeks ago (see Timothy Michael Dolan: Still Trying to Make Everyone Happy Except God), and other occurred on Easter Sunday itself:
Nothing’s sacred to these guys.
A trio of attention-seeking protesters — one of whom previously glued his feet to the stands at the US Open as part of a climate change stunt — were cuffed and hauled out of St. Patrick’s Cathedral after disrupting Easter Mass with shouts of “free Palestine” on Saturday night, cops say.
Police were called to the iconic Midtown cathedral for complaints about a “disorderly group” just before 9 p.m. The protesters were quickly taken out of the service.
Matthew Menzies, 31, John Rozendaal, 63, and Gregory Schwedock, 35, were taken into custody and charged with disruption of religious service, police told The Post.
While being escorted out, one yelled “Free Palestine,” a video shared to X shows.
Schwedock, of the Upper East Side, was arrested in September after disrupting the U.S. Open women’s semifinal with activists who used glue to prevent security from ejecting them from Arthur Ashe Stadium after they held up a sign decrying fossil fuels. Their stunt stalled the match for nearly 50 minutes.
The globe-trotting Stuyvesant High School grad has made a career of divisive climate protests, and has documented many of his activities on social media.
Rozendaal, an Inwood resident, was previously arrested in April after spray painting “climate criminal and no new oil” on a window at a Citibank.
The three noisemakers barged into the church following a protest by thousands of pro-Palestinian marchers in Times Square.
At least some of the protesters were with Extinction Rebellion NYC’s Palestinian Solidarity group and carried a flag with an olive tree and the words “SILENCE = DEATH” written across it.
Extinction Rebellion has gained a name for itself with disruptive public climate change protests — including blocking major roads and hosting “die-ins” at major New York museums.
Many attending the mass, led by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, did not react to the disruption, however, some gathered outside of the church felt Saturday evening’s demonstration lacked respect.
“We all have to respect each other’s religions. What’s going on in Gaza is appalling, but there are other ways to show your point of view,” Arturo Ballester, a 59-year-old from Brooklyn, told The Post outside of St. Patrick’s Saturday night.
Another church-goer who did not want to be named but said she works as a lawyer said she felt the activists should take their demonstration elsewhere.
“Not inside the church. Outside they can be as free as they please. Gaza is a really bad situation, but this is a place of sanctuary for us. Have a little respect please.”
Tony Furnary, a 65-year-old surgeon visiting New York City on holiday from Anchorage, Alaska, simply stated: “Wrong place, wrong time” in response to the protest.
Schwedock’s Facebook feed features numerous videos of disruptive protests filmed in NYC and beyond, many involving vandalism and blocking public roadways.
One video includes footage from a 2019 “die-in” on Wall Street in which Extinction Rebellion members drenched the famous charging bull statue in fake blood and climbed on top of it.
At the start of the video documenting the protest, a member of the group named Alexia boasted two days ahead of time that she was going to be arrested.
On his Instagram, the climate activist posted videos of himself living it up at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, better known as COP27.
According to FlightFree, the 5,600-mile flight from JFK Airport to Cairo, Egypt emits 3.3 metric tons of CO2, which it says is capable of melting 105 square feet of Arctic sea ice.
Schrwedock did not respond to an Instagram message seeking comment Sunday. (Protesters calling for cease-fire ambush Easter vigil at St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC.)
What is interesting about some of the reactions from those attending the putative Easter Vigil “Mass” at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick is that no one but no one mentioned the offense that was given to the Risen Saviour, Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, during what most people believed to have been an offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. While some clearly understood the genocide that the Israeli Defense Force has undertaken in Gaza, none of those attended gave any indication that the problem with the pro-Palestinian protest was not a matter of not “respecting” different “religions” but of the boldness with which its participants acted without any regard for the sacred. Profane men never have any regard for that which is sacred, and even though the Novus Ordo itself is profane and that the Cathedral of Saint Patrick will have to be re-consecrated once this liturgical abomination has been obliterated after the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter, the fact remains that the pro-Palestinian protesters do not know these facts and chose quite deliberate to interrupt what purported to a Mass precisely because they desired to profane what they believed to be sacred while sacralizing a secular cause.
No matter the horrible injustices to which the Palestinians are still being subjected by their Israeli occupiers in retribution for Hamas’s attacks on October 7, 2023, no injustice in this world compares with the injustice that our own sins did to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ during His Passion and Death on the wood of the Holy Cross on Good Friday, an injustice that caused the Fourth through Seventh Swords of Sorrow to be plunged through and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. No secular cause, no matter how just, takes precedence over the ineffable Sacrifice of the Cross nor can just a cause be any excuse to distract attention away from the sacredness of the Paschal Triduum to focus on the events of the world.
This is what I wrote on December 29, 2023, after a Maronite rite priest (the Eastern rites have true holy orders) said that there was no Christmas joy because of the Palestinian invasion of Gaza:
The Jews are suffering at the hands of Hamas as a chastisement for their continued unbelief and, in turn, the Jews are imposing such suffering on Hamas and the mostly Mohammedan population of Gaza as a chastisement for their unbelief in the Incarnation, Nativity, Passion, Death, Resurrection of Ascension of the God-Man, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who had sanctified the ground on which he toiled for thirty years at manual labor while sanctifying domestic life as He submitted Himself in humility and obedience to His foster-Father and His Most Blessed Mother and upon which He preached and performed miracles prior to undergoing the fearful events of His Sacred Passion. The current conflict in the land chosen by Our Lord Himself onto which to be born and to redeem us should be seen as an opportunity to transcend the ephemeral events of the world to focus on the fact that Christmas Day made possible the only liberation that matters, namely, our liberation from captivity to the devil by means of Original Sin and the outflowing of redemptive graces won He won for us on the wood of the Holy Cross.
Fallen men, as stupid and self-centered now as they were 2023 years ago, continue to believe in the myth of secular salvation as they continue to place nationalist and/or ideological causes above everything up to and including the subordination of the events of our redemption to geopolitical, ethnic, ideological, or nationalistic goals that must be “worshiped” as even more important than our salvation from sin and eternal death.
These blasphemous efforts to “cancel” Christmas communicate that the suffering of the Palestinians at the hands of the Israelis is of nature as to trump all mention of the lowly manner in which the King of Kings was born miraculously of His Virginal Mother and wrapped in swaddling clothes while being placed in a manager that served as feeding trough for the very stable animals whose breath warmed Him as He was adored by Our Lady, Saint Joseph, the rugged shepherds and the angels who had informed them that their redemption was at hand. . . .
We rejoice on Christmas Day no matter our own personal circumstances and no matter the events transpiring in the world. As Pope Pius XII above:
His light can overcome the darkness, the rays of His love can conquer the icy egoism which holds so many back from becoming great and conspicuous in their higher life. (Pope Pius XII, Christmas Message, December 25. 1942.)
We must always rise above the events of the world, and we must always celebrate Christmas, the Octave of Christmas, and the entirety of the Christmas Season, which is impinged in this year’s liturgical calendar with the start of Septuagesima on Sunday, January 28, 2024, five days before Candlemas, and, indeed, throughout the course of our entire lives.
Christian joy must the keynote of our lives at all times, especially in times of pain, suffering, and tragedy. (From Christmas Joy Is Never Eclipsed by Earthly Events.)
The same holds true for this glorious season of Easter. Although I will be commenting again, perhaps in a week or so, on the Israelis’ continued occupation of Gaza and the concomitant slaughter and dislocation of innocent Palestinians, no protest about these injustices can ever eclipse the glory of the Resurrection, and it is a sign of the adversary’s hatred of Our Lord for His Resurrection as he knows that Our Lord’s triumph of the power of sin and eternal meant defeat for him that he inspires such protests to take place at all.
Worse yet, of course, are the efforts by the puppeteers who attempt clumsily to pull the wooden marionette known as Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., to and fro to turn Easter Sunday into a celebration of those who have had their bodies chemically altered and surgically mutilated in the vain attempt to do the biologically and ontologically impossible: to change their gender. I will make a few interjections along the way:
On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives. (A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility, 2024.)
Interjection Number One:
We are not all made equally.
While each human being is made in the image and likeness of the Most Holy Trinity and has been redeemed by the shedding of the Most Precious Blood of the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity made Man, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and while we are called to treat everyone we meet as we would treat Our Lord Himself in the very Flesh, we are endowed with different talents, different abilities, different intellects, and different personalities.
We are not all created “equal,” and there is no “equality” in Heaven as those who have loved God more here on this earth as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through His true Church and have striven to climb the ladder of perfection will love Him more in Heaven than those who love for Him on earth was tepid but who nevertheless managed to save their immortal souls by the graces won for us by Our Lord during His Passion and death and that flowed into their immortal souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces. The perfection of Heaven is such, however, that everyone in the Church Triumphant is happy qualitatively but not quantitatively. The souls of just, having been purified of disordered self-love either during life or in Purgatory, rejoice only in the possession of the glory of the Beatific Vision and are thus bound in a perfect communion love for the Most Blessed Trinity.
Additionally, it should be noted is that God does not “create” so-called transsexuals”:
[26] And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth. [27] And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. [28] And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. [29] And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat: [30] And to all beasts of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to all that move upon the earth, and wherein there is life, that they may have to feed upon. And it was so done. (Genesis 1: 26-30.)
It is no accident that Gnosticism arose in the First Century A.D. and was rife with sodomy as it grew out of the prevailing practices in the Roman Empire and created an alternative universe replete with “secret” knowledge. Eschewing the natural for the unnatural, Gnostics practiced perversity as it was very much a part of a “reality” that was suited to their own subjective purposes that had no correlation whatsoever to the actual world created by God as above:
Gnosticism does not accept the evidence of reality. It is not a matter of what Gnostics do not know, but of what they refuse to acknowledge. Composer Igor Stravinsky wrote that “the old original sin was one of knowledge, the new original sin is one of non-acknowledgment.” It is the refusal to acknowledge anything outside the operation of the human will—most especially “the good” toward which the soul is ordered. The Gnostic is not interested in conforming his mind to reality but in conforming reality to his wishes. Joseph Pieper defined self-deception as an unobjective perception of reality dictated by the will. It is the sheer willfulness of the homosexual movement that is notable. What are its consequences? Charles DeKonick said: “By a disordered love of one’s private good one rejects…the common good as something alien and judges it to be incompatible with one’s individual status…one freely abdicates the dignity proper to the rational creature in order to establish oneself as a radically independent whole.”iiiThe common good is the casualty.
In saying that the homosexual ideology is an unobjective perception of reality, one should note at the same time that the active homosexual does not intend to perform a purely subjective act. He wants to say and believe that his actions are ordered objectively. This is what requires the reconstitution of reality so that it will conform to his will and transform his subjective acts into ones ordered to objective good. To succeed in this endeavor, the homosexual ideologue relocates the source of good from what is to his will. Only then can he successfully rationalize his moral misbehavior. (The New Gnosticism of the Homosexual Movement.)
Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr.’s, “proclamation” about “transgenderism” is nothing other than Gnosticism, which itself is the pathway to the transhumanism of the “global reset of humanity.”
To the next part of Biden’s “proclamation,” which was issued on Good Friday itself, March 29, 2024:
I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect. I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military. I am proud to have signed historic Executive Orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more. I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that every American can marry the person they love. (A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility, 2024.)
Interjection Number Two:
There is no right from the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Holy Trinity, to do that which is wrong.
Sodomy is wrong.
Lesbianism is wrong.
The mutilation of one’s body, what is called “transgenderism,” is wrong.
No one has the “right” to marry the person they are said to “love.” Brothers cannot marry sisters. Mothers cannot marry sons. Fathers cannot marry daughters. Those related by blood to the third degree cannot get married. No Catholic is permitted to marry a person who is divorced and lacks a true (and very hard to obtain) canonical decree of nullity. In this instance, of course, no man has the “right” to “marry” another man, and no woman has any “right” to “marry” another woman.
As I have written so many times before, God’s love for us is an expression of His Holy Will, the ultimate expression of which is the salvation of our immortal souls. No one “loves” anyone authentically if he does or says anything, either omission or commission, that interferes with his own salvation and/or that of another. Period.
The entire panoply of aberrant behaviors that the administration of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Kamala Harris have celebrated and have sought to protect by means of executive orders, presidential directives, presidential memoranda, and legislative proposals is opposed to the sanctification and salvation of souls and thus to the common temporal good of the nation.
Once again, for those who are relatively new to this website:
Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable. (Proverbs 14: 34.)
The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, as quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)
As I noted in my thirty plus year career as a college professor of political science and have continued to note in my writing and speaking, the “people” have no authority to permit anything that is proscribed by the Divine Positive Law and/or the Natural Law. No one, whether acting individually or collectively with others in the institutions of civil governance, is morally free to contravene the binding precepts of any of the Ten Commandments, including the Fifth, Sixth, and Ninth Commandments.
Governments that are “religiously neutral,” however, must end up awash in a sewer of evil as men, especially today given the paucity of a superabundance of Sanctifying and Actual Grace caused by the sacramentally barren liturgical rites of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, govern themselves and their nations by means of sentimentality or raw majoritarian impulses. Such governmental systems must place jurists who might know better into making one legal argument after another, no matter how constitutionally or statutorily sound, on a purely naturalistic basis, thus placing into straitjackets from which it is impossible to extricate themselves. One cannot fight naturalism/secularism/humanism with naturalism/secularism/humanism. One can only fight naturalism/secularism/humanism with Catholicism. Nothing else.
All right, back to Biden’s Good Friday proclamation:
Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation. Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families or running businesses, they help America thrive. They deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves. But extremists are proposing hundreds of hateful laws that target and terrify transgender kids and their families — silencing teachers; banning books; and even threatening parents, doctors, and nurses with prison for helping parents get care for their children. These bills attack our most basic American values: the freedom to be yourself, the freedom to make your own health care decisions, and even the right to raise your own child. It is no surprise that the bullying and discrimination that transgender Americans face is worsening our Nation’s mental health crisis, leading half of transgender youth to consider suicide in the past year. At the same time, an epidemic of violence against transgender women and girls, especially women and girls of color, continues to take too many lives. Let me be clear: All of these attacks are un-American and must end. No one should have to be brave just to be themselves. (A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility, 2024.)
Interjection Number Three:
Mutilated human beings are not the “fabric” of any nation. To believe that one can become that which he can never become is insanity, and insane people belong in institutions where they can receive good Catholic spiritual direction. As we know, however, insane gnostics are running the world and its institutions now, and there are also insane people within the counterfeit church of conciliarism, starting with Jorge Mario Bergoglio himself, who are allied with the insanity of those who think that mutilating one’s body in violation of the precepts of the Fifth Commandment is worthy of respect when it is worthy only of condemnation for the act and pity for those who commit it.
Although it is doubtful that Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., wrote a word of the perverse Good Friday proclamation that made a mockery of Easter Sunday, the demagoguery against legislators and parents seeking to protect children from being mutilated by the bullying forces of “transgenderism” that have embedded themselves on school boards, in school administrations, in teachers, in textbooks, in public libraries, and even in daycare, after-school, and pre-Kindergarten programs is completely Bidenesque in tone. The parents, legislators and executives, most especially Florida Governor Ronald DeSantis, have been heroic in their efforts to protect their children from the preternaturally skilled psychological coercion and manipulation that has been used to target vulnerable to believe that they were born with the wrong gender that, in other words, either there is no God or that He made a “mistake” when they were “assigned” a gender a birth. Biden’s proclamation turns reality on its head by heroizing the true bullies and demonizing the victims of militant “transgender” activists who, in league with the adversary, prowl about the world seeing the ruin of both bodies and souls.
This insanity has become so ingrained in the laws of the United States of America now that the Supreme Court of the United States of America recently refused to examine a decision of an appeals court that denied parents the right to prevent the state from having their confused son taken from them after they had failed to use his “preferred” pronouns:
The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal of an Indiana couple who lost custody of their gender-confused teenage son solely because they refused to indulge his desire to be addressed by a female name and pronouns, despite a lack of any actual parental abuse in the case.
In 2019, Mary and Jeremy Cox began seeking mental health treatment for their son, identified in the case only as AC, who considered himself “transgendered.” Two years later, the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) began investigating the Catholic couple based on a report that they were not using his preferred female name or female pronouns. AC was removed from the home, and despite a state court finding no evidence of abuse or neglect, it ruled that he should be placed somewhere that would affirm his “gender identity,” citing AC’s worsening of an eating disorder around the time he was removed.
An appeals court upheld the ruling in 2022, and the Coxes filed an appeal to the nation’s highest court in 2023. “With increasing frequency, governments run roughshod over parents’ religious beliefs on gender identity, including removing children from parents, favoring certain beliefs in divorce custody disputes, and preventing adoptions, these cases are sure to proliferate,” they wrote.
However, on March 18, the Court released an order list confirming it is refusing to review the case, without elaboration or identifying how individual justices voted.
In response, the Coxes said that losing their son “will stay with us forever” and that “we can’t change the past, but we will continue to fight for a future where parents of faith can raise their children without fear of state officials knocking on their doors,” USA Today reports.
Indiana Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita, who is tasked with representing the state, issued a statement expressing “sympathy” with the Coxes, declaring that Indiana “always protect[s] parental rights and religious liberty” and does not “believe that the State can remove a child because of a parent’s religious beliefs, views about gender identity, or anything of the sort,” while maintaining removal in this case was strictly about treatment for AC’s “extreme eating disorder.”
But the parents’ brief to the Supreme Court, prepared by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, explains that the parents “agreed that A.C. needed intervention since A.C. ‘denie[d]’ the eating disorder, ‘believe[d] that additional treatment [was] unnecessary,’ ‘fueled’ the eating disorder by isolating from Petitioners, and claimed isolation would continue if placed back in Petitioners’ safe home […] Children do best with their fit parents, and Indiana and constitutional standards do not leave up to unemancipated minors the decision of residing with fit parents […] Thus Petitioners agreed A.C. needed services not because they were unwilling to provide treatment, but because A.C. wasn’t prepared to accept it without court supervision.”
“Mary and Jeremy plan to continue the fight for parental rights and religious freedom, so that this nightmare doesn’t happen to other families,” says Beckett.
For conservatives, the outcome is the latest cause for concern about the current Supreme Court. Six of its nine members were appointed by Republican presidents, yet with only four votes needed to get the court to take a case, at least three of those justices supported on the expectation they would uphold parental rights and religious liberty opted not to here.
The Court has delivered conservatives major victories on gun rights, environmental regulation, affirmative action, and most significantly abortion with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, but it has also issued dismissive rulings on COVID-19 shot mandates, religious freedom, and LGBT ideology, to the point that Bush-appointed Justice Samuel Alito has taken the rare step of criticizing Trump-appointed Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh for lacking the “fortitude” to resolve such issues. (Supreme Court rejects appeal from Catholic parents who had gender-confused son taken from them.)
What was I writing about insanity?
What began as explicit classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Commandments, an instruction explicitly forbidden by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 29, 1929, in the 1960s logically devolved into deliberate efforts on the part of “educators “ to drive wedge of suspicion between students and their “strict,” “moralistic” parents, who, of course, did not want their children to have the “freedom” to “explore” the world of carnal “pleasures.” This wedge, once driven, paved the way for the provision of contraceptives and prophylactics to children without their parents’ knowledge or consent, to the killing of preborn children without their parents’ knowledge or consent and, in recent years, to the removal of children from their families because their parents are not reaffirming them in the confusion caused by skilled emotional manipulators.
Everything must fall apart without the true Faith, including common sense and sanity even on the natural levels.
While Biden’s proclamation contained another substantive paragraph indicating that his administration is proceeding to take measures to establish a toll-free number to report “bullying,” which presumably includes children reporting their parents to the “authorities,” and to continue to use his Ministry of Injustice to oppose “unjust” laws that seek to prevent children from “choosing” their gender, the sections quoted herein enough for readers of this website to understand just how far a nation can fall when it is founded on false, Pelagian, Judeo-Calvinist-Masonic principles of religious indifferentism and naturalism.
While some might point out that “visibility day” is observed annually on March 31, which just “happened” to be Easter Sunday” this year, the truth of the matter that Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., was under no obligation to issue a “proclamation,” no less to do so on Good Friday, the day our own sins put Our Lord to death on the wood of the Holy Cross.
No “good Catholic” would mock Our Lord’s Redemptive Act on Good Friday, and no “good Catholic” would seek to do anything to deflect attention from the glory of His Resurrection from the dead on Easter Sunday.
We are baptized and confirmed to bear witness to the Catholic Faith, and not to political ideology, but Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., who sold his soul to the adversary over fifty years ago now after the issuance of Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, has surrendered himself to the entire Marxist agenda to strip the government of the United States of America from any references to the true nature of Christian holy days, which is why religious symbols are being banned from appearing on Easter eggs at the annual Easter egg hunt taking place at the White House today, Easter
Monday, April 1, 2024:
Children of the National Guard are prohibited from submitting religious Easter egg designs for the 2024 “Celebrating National Guard Families” art event at the White House.
The art contest is part of the White House’s Easter traditions, which include the annual Easter Egg Roll.
The flyer for the contest states that an Easter egg design submission “must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.”
“As part of the White House Easter traditions, America’s Egg Farmers – for nearly 50 years – have proudly presented an intricately decorated Commemorative Easter Egg to the First Lady of the United States. In 2021, the White House expanded on this longstanding tradition by displaying youth-designed Easter eggs in the White House East Colonnade,” the flyer explains.
“On behalf of First Lady Jill Biden, The Adjutants General of the National Guard are asking youth from National Guard families across the United States and all U.S. territories to submit artwork inspired by the theme ‘Celebrating our Military Families,’” the flyer continues.
Children are asked to design eggs with images based on their own lives.
“Selected designs representing the unique experience and stories of National Guard children will be brought to life on real hen eggs by talented egg artists from across the country and displayed at the White House this Easter and Passover season,” the flyer says. (Religious-themed designs banned from White House Easter egg art contest.)
Naturally, among the “banned” images would be Our Lord Himself, His Holy Cross, the empty tomb, the holy women, and the Apostles, thus making a mockery of these words of the Risen Saviour Himself as well as those of the Prince of the Apostles, Saint Peter, our first pope:
For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For he that shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation: the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (Mark 8: 36-28)
And calling in the apostles, after they had scourged them, they charged them that they should not speak at all in the name of Jesus; and they dismissed them.
And they indeed went from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were accounted worthy to suffer reproach for the name of Jesus. And every day they ceased not in the temple, and from house to house, to teach and preach Christ Jesus. (Acts 5: 40-42.)
If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it, as of the power, which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen. Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you, as if some new thing happened to you; But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men's things.
But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God? And if the just man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, commend their souls in good deeds to the faithful Creator. (1 Peter 4: 11-19)
Time and time again, however, we have seen Catholics in public life throughout the world, including here in the United States of America, consider it a virtuous civil duty to separate what they call their “private beliefs” from the decisions they make as public officials. This is true both of the “left” and the “right,” and it has been stated repeatedly by Catholics who have been nominated to serve on the Federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Today is Easter Monday. Dm Prosper Gueranger’s reflection on this second day of the Paschal Octave will elevate our thoughts away from the indecency of indecent men such as Jospeh Robinette Biden, Jr., to the glories that we are celebrating for the next forty-nine days:
So ample and so profound is the mystery of the glorious Pasch, that an entire week may well be spent in its meditation. Yesterday, we limited ourselves to our Redeemer’s rising from the tomb, and showing Himself, in six different apparitions, to them that were dear to Him. We will continue to give Him the adoration, gratitude, and love, which are so justly do to Him for the triumph, which is both His and ours; but it also behooves us respectfully to study the lessons conveyed by the Resurrection of our divine Master, that thus the light of the great mystery may the more plentifully shine upon us, and our joy be greater.
And first of all, what is the Pasch? The Scriptures tell us that it is the immolation of the lamb. To understand the Pasch, we must first understand the mystery of the lamb. From the earliest ages of the Christian Church, we find the lamb represented, in the mosaics and frescoes of the basilicas, as the symbol of Christ’s sacrifice and triumph. Its attitude of sweet meekness expressed the love wherewith our Jesus shed His Blood for us; but it was put standing on a green hill, with the four rivers of Paradise flowing from beneath its feet, signifying the four Gospels which have made known the glory of His name throughout the earth. At a later period, the lamb was represented holding a cross, to which was attached a banner: and this is the form in which we now have the symbol of the Lamb of God.
Ever since sin entered the world, man has need of the lamb. Without the lamb he never could have inherited heaven, but would have been, for all eternity, an object of God’s just anger. In the very beginning of the world, the just Abel drew down upon himself the mercy of God by offering on a sod-made altar the fairest lamb of his flock: he himself was sacrificed, as a lamb, by the murderous hand of his brother, and thus became a type of our divine Lamb, Jesus, who was slain by His own Israelite brethren. When Abraham ascended the mountain to make the sacrifice commanded him by God, he immolated, on the altar prepared for Isaac, the ram he found amidst the thorns. Later on, God spoke to Moses, and revealed to him the Pasch: it consisted of a lamb that was to be slain and eaten. A few days back, we had read to us the passage from the Book of Exodus where God gives this rite to His people. The Paschal Lamb was to be without blemish; its blood was to be sprinkled as a protection against the destroying Angel, and its flesh was to be eaten. This was the first Pasch. It was most expressive as a figure, but void of reality. For fifteen hundred years was it celebrated by God’s people, and the spiritual-minded among the Jews knew it to be the type of a future Lamb.
In the age of the great prophets, Isaias prayed God to fulfill the promise He made at the beginning of the world. We united in this his sublime and inspired prayer, when, during Advent, the Church read to us his magnificent prophecies. How fervently did we repeat those words: “Send forth, O Lord, the Lamb, the ruler of the earth!” This Lamb was the long-expected Messias; and we said to ourselves: Oh what a Pasch will that be, wherein such a lamb is to be victim! What a feast wherein He is to be the food of the feasters!
“When the fulness of time came and God sent His Son” upon our earth, this Word made Flesh, after thirty years of hidden life, manifested Himself to men. He came to the river Jordan, where John was baptizing. No sooner did the holy Baptist see Him, than he said to his disciples: “Behold the Lamb of God! Behold Him who taketh away the sin of the world!” By these words the saintly Precursor proclaimed the Pasch; for he was virtually telling men that the earth then possessed the true lamb, the Lamb of God, of whom it had been in expectation four thousand years. Yes, the lamb who was fairer than the one offered by Abel, richer in mystery than the one slain by Abraham on the mount, and more spotless than the one the Israelites were commanded to sacrifice in Egypt, had come. He was the lamb so earnestly prayed for by Isaias; the lamb sent by God Himself; in a word, the Lamb of God. A few years would pass, and then the immolation. But three days ago we assisted at His sacrifice; we witnessed the meek patience wherewith He suffered His executioners to slay Him; we have been laved with His precious Blood, and it has cleansed us from all our sins.
The shedding of this redeeming Blood was needed for our Pasch. Unless we had been marked with it, we could not have escaped the sword of the destroying Angel. It has made us partake of the purity of the God who so generously shed it for us. Our neophytes have risen whiter than snow from the font, wherein that Blood was mingled. Poor sinners, that had lost the innocence received in their Baptism, have regained their treasure, because the divine energy of that Blood has been applied to their souls. The whole assembly of the faithful are clad in the nuptial garment, rich and fair beyond measure, for it has been “made white in the Blood of the Lamb.”
But why this festive garment? It is because we are invited to a great banquet: and here again, we find our lamb. He Himself is the food of the happy guests, and the banquet is the Pasch. The great Apostle St. Andrew, when confessing the name of Christ before the pagan proconsul Ægeas, spoke these sublime words: “I daily offer upon the altar the spotless lamb, of whose flesh the whole multitude of the faithful eat; the lamb that is sacrificed, remains whole and living.” Yesterday, this banquet was celebrated throughout the entire universe; it is kept up during all these days, and by it we contract a close union with the Lamb, who incorporates Himself with us by the divine food He gives us.
Nor does the mystery of the lamb end here. Isaias besought God to “send the lamb” who was to be “the ruler of the earth.” He comes, therefore, not only that He may be sacrificed, not only that He may feed us with His sacred Flesh, but likewise that He may command the earth and be King. Here, again, is our Pasch. The Pasch is the announcement of the reign of the lamb. The citizens of heaven thus proclaim it: “Behold, the lion of the tribe of Juda, the root of David hath conquered!” But if He be the lion, how is He the lamb? Let us be attentive to the mystery. Out of love for man, who needed redemption, and a heavenly food that would invigorate, Jesus deigned to be as a lamb: but He had, moreover, to triumph over His own and our enemies; He had to reign, for “all power was given to Him in heaven and in earth.” In this His triumph and power, He is a lion; nothing can resist Him; His victory is celebrated this day throughout the world. Listen to the great deacon of Edessa, St. Ephrem: “At the twelfth hour, He was taken down from the Cross as a lion that slept.” Yea, verily, our lion slept; for His rest in the sepulcher “was more like sleep than death,” as St. Leo remarks. Was not this the fulfillment of Jacob’s dying prophecy? This patriarch, speaking of the Messias that was to be born of his race, said: “Juda is a lion’s whelp. To the prey, my son, thou art gone up! Resting thou hast couched as a lion. Who shall rouse him?” He has roused Himself, by His own power. He has risen; a lamb for us, a lion for His enemies; thus uniting, in His Person, gentleness and power. This completes the mystery of our Pasch: a lamb, triumphant, obeyed, adored. Let us pay Him the homage so justly due. Until we be permitted to join, in heaven, with the millions of Angels and the four-and-twenty Elders, let us repeat, here on earth, the hymn they are forever singing: “The lamb that was slain, is worthy to receive power, and divinity, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and benediction!”
Formerly, the whole of this week was kept as a Feast, with the obligation of resting from servile work. The edict, published by Theodosius in 389, forbidding all law proceedings during the same period, was supplementary to this liturgical law, which we find mentioned in the Sermons of St. Augustine, and in the Homilies of St. John Chrysostom. The second of these two holy Fathers thus speaks to the newly baptized: “You are enjoying a daily introduction during these seven days. We put before you a spiritual banquet, that thus we may teach you how to arm yourselves and fight against the devil, who is now preparing to attack you more violently than ever; for the greater is the gift you have received, the greater will be the combat you must go through to preserve it … During these following seven days, you have the word of God preached to you, that you may go forth well prepared to fight with your enemies. Moreover, you know it is usual to keep up a nuptial feast for seven days: you are now celebrating a spiritual marriage, and therefore we have established the custom of a seven days’ solemnity.” (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year, Easter Monday.)
We have come a long way from the time of Theodosius in the late Fourth Century. What was once considered sacred is disregarded and mocked. Catholics once rejoiced in Our Lord’s Easter victory over the power of sin and eternal death. Many of them today want to deny, at least publicly, that his victory has any significance for social life and, indeed, is an impediment to “inclusiveness.”
For our part, therefore, we must be grateful to Our Lady, who stood so valiantly by the foot of the Cross, for sending us the graces to be able to see the world clearly through the spiritual eyes of the true Faith as we seek to celebrate this glorious season of her Divine Son’s Resurrection as His own consecrated slaves through her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.
Every set of the Glorious Mysteries we pray during this season should fortify us to focus on the glories that await us if we persevere in God’s good graces until the day we die, something that Pope Leo XIII explained in Laetitiae Sanctae, September 8, 1893:
The third evil for which a remedy is needed is one which is chiefly characteristic of the times in which we live. Men in former ages, although they loved the world, and loved it far too well, did not usually aggravate their sinful attachment to the things of earth by a contempt of the things of heaven. Even the right-thinking portion of the pagan world recognized that this life was not a home but a dwelling-place, not our destination, but a stage in the journey. But men of our day, albeit they have had the advantages of Christian instruction, pursue the false goods of this world in such wise that the thought of their true Fatherland of enduring happiness is not only set aside, but, to their shame be it said, banished and entirely erased from their memory, notwithstanding the warning of St. Paul, “We have not here a lasting city, but we seek one which is to come” (Heb. xiii., 4).
12. When We seek out the causes of this forgetfulness, We are met in the first place by the fact that many allow themselves to believe that the thought of a future life goes in some way to sap the love of our country, and thus militates against the prosperity of the commonwealth. No illusion could be more foolish or hateful. Our future hope is not of a kind which so monopolizes the minds of men as to withdraw their attention from the interests of this life. Christ commands us, it is true, to seek the Kingdom of God, and in the first place, but not in such a manner as to neglect all things else. For, the use of the goods of the present life, and the righteous enjoyment which they furnish, may serve both to strengthen virtue and to reward it. The splendor and beauty of our earthly habitation, by which human society is ennobled, may mirror the splendor and beauty of our dwelling which is above. Therein we see nothing that is not worthy of the reason of man and of the wisdom of God. For the same God who is the Author of Nature is the Author of Grace, and He willed not that one should collide or conflict with the other, but that they should act in friendly alliance, so that under the leadership of both we may the more easily arrive at that immortal happiness for which we mortal men were created.
13. But men of carnal mind, who love nothing but themselves, allow their thoughts to grovel upon things of earth until they are unable to lift them to that which is higher. For, far from using the goods of time as a help towards securing those which are eternal, they lose sight altogether of the world which is to come, and sink to the lowest depths of degradation. We may doubt if God could inflict upon man a more terrible punishment than to allow him to waste his whole life in the pursuit of earthly pleasures, and in forgetfulness of the happiness which alone lasts for ever.
14. It is from this danger that they will be happily rescued, who, in the pious practice of the Rosary, are wont, by frequent and fervent prayer, to keep before their minds the glorious mysteries. These mysteries are the means by which in the soul of a Christian a most clear light is shed upon the good things, hidden to sense, but visible to faith, “which God has prepared for those who love Him.” From them we learn that death is not an annihilation which ends all things, but merely a migration and passage from life to life. By them we are taught that the path to Heaven lies open to all men, and as we behold Christ ascending thither, we recall the sweet words of His promise, “I go to prepare a place for you.” By them we are reminded that a time will come when “God will wipe away every tear from our eyes,” and that “neither mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow, shall be any more,” and that “We shall be always with the Lord,” and “like to the Lord, for we shall see Him as He is,” and “drink of the torrent of His delight,” as “fellow-citizens of the saints,” in the blessed companionship of our glorious Queen and Mother. Dwelling upon such a prospect, our hearts are kindled with desire, and we exclaim, in the words of a great saint, “How vile grows the earth when I look up to heaven!” Then, too, shall we feel the solace of the assurance “that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation worketh for us above measure exceedingly an eternal weight of glory” (2 Cor. iv., 17).
15. Here alone we discover the true relation between time and eternity, between our life on earth and our life in heaven; and it is thus alone that are formed strong and noble characters. When such characters can be counted in large numbers, the dignity and well-being of society are assured. All that is beautiful, good, and true will flourish in the measure of its conformity to Him who is of all beauty, goodness, and truth the first Principle and the Eternal Source. (Pope Leo XIII, Laetitiae Sanctae, September 8, 1893.)
