Another Memorandum to Clueless Don from Queens: Catholics Do Not Compromise on Truth

Although I am continuing to refrain from any election commentaries until after Easter Sunday, there have been some occasions recently when former president Donald John Trump has pontificated on the “necessity” of Republican candidates to accept “exceptions” to the inviolability of all innocent human life from conception until death. He seems hellbent, quite literally and figuratively, on doing everything possible to find a “deal” that would “make both sides happy.”

Such a belief displays the former president’s absolute and utter ignorance about First Principles as he truly believes that everything is “negotiable,” including accepting the slaughter of innocent preborn children for a period of sixteen weeks after their conception:

Former President Trump weighed in on the abortion debate, which has been a politically fraught subject for Republicans. 

Reports claim Trump has discussed having a ban on abortions after 16 weeks of pregnancy with three exceptions: rape, incest and the life of the mother. 

"Pretty soon, I'm going to be making a decision. And I would like to see if we could do that at all. I would like to see if we could make both sides happy," Trump said on "MediaBuzz" on Sunday. (Trump promotes abortion compromise as Democrats push issue in 2024 race.)

Interjection Number One:

Donald John Trump has not one blessed clue about pleasing God of Divine Revelation, the Most Trinity, in all his thoughts, words, and actions.

Donald John Trump is also truly clueless if he thinks that pro-aborts, who are absolutely committed to baby-killing without restriction up to, including, and after the day of birth are interested in any kind of compromise on a matter of moral truth that is beyond humans to debate, no less to arrive at some kind of “compromise” in absurd effort to appease baby-killing absolutists.

Donald John Trump has not one blessed clue about protecting innocent unborn lives as he willing negotiate away their absolute inviolability from any direct, intentional act meant to kill up to a certain point, and he demands as a matter of principle, not as a matter of mere political expediency, that the absurdity of “exceptions” to the binding precepts of the Fifth Commandment be accept as the sine qua non “pro-life” position when is nothing of the sort.

Remember, it was a little less than a month ago that Donald John Trump demanded that the Alabama State Legislature reverse a decision of the Alabama Supreme Court that declared human beings frozen as embryos in the immoral process of in vitro fertilization are indeed human beings whose lives must be protected:

“Under my leadership, the Republican Party will always support the creation of strong, thriving, healthy American families. We want to make it easier for mothers and fathers to have babies, not harder!” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday.

“That includes supporting the availability of fertility treatments like IVF in every State in America,” he continued.

“Like the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Americans, including the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans, Conservatives, Christians, and Pro-Life Americans, I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby,” Trump said, calling on the Alabama Legislature to “act quickly to find an immediate solution to preserve the availability of IVF in Alabama.”

“The Republican Party should always be on the side of the Miracle of Life – and the side of Mothers, Fathers, and their Beautiful Babies. IVF is an important part of that, and our Great Republican Party will always be with you, in your quest, for the ULTIMATE JOY IN LIFE!” (Donald Trump Calls on Alabama Legislature to Find Way to Preserve IVF.)

This is what I wrote in  Your "Pro-Life" President is At It Again:

What a dope.

What an incorrigible dope.

No one has a right to a child as they are gifts of God to be welcomed with generosity according to the means He has given them to continue the species. The conception of children is not to be prevented, and those who cannot have children are called to accept their cross with equanimity while considering the adoption of children and/or to seek the advice of a believing Catholic obstetrician/gynecologist in an effort to determine whether a case of infertility is medically or surgically remediable.

One can pray for the gift of children, but one can never take matters into their own hands by having recourse to monsters who make billions of dollars by defying God in the creation of human life artificially.

The Protestant Revolution’s overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King let loose the forces of anti-Incarnational forces of naturalism upon the world that gave us, in successive turn, divorce, contraception, abortion, the promotion of sodomite and its ever-increasing spectrum of perverse vices, in vitro fertilization, “brain death”/vital organ vivisection and transplantation, the starvation and dehydration of innocent human beings, “palliative care”/hospice, legally sanctioned infanticide, euthanasia, suicide and doctor-assisted suicide and, of course, the curse of human fetal stem-cell research that has spawned the cottage industry of mad scientists who believe that there are no God-given limits on their work and that they will never have to answer to God, in whom most do not believe, for daring to mock His omnipotence.

The downward spiral, though, was over four centuries in the making, longer yet if one considers how certain elements of the Renaissance helped to undermine the integrity of Faith and Morals in various intellectual and artistic circles in the century before the rise of Martin Luther, but we are seeing the tragic consequences of this spiral into the abyss right before our very eyes.

Contraception, of course, resulted in widespread adultery, divorces, broken families, the feminization of poverty and, ultimately, the “legalization” of surgical abortion up to and including the day of birth. This denial of the Sovereignty of God over the sanctity and fecundity of marriage has produced a mentality of selfishness between spouses, most of whom view children as something to be “planned” or “wanted” and not the first end of their married lives. The belief that one can “plan” to have children was followed by the belief that married couples have a “right” to have a child if a wife (or the husband) is infertile. Those who do not accept that it is part of God’s Holy Providence for men and women to join together in Holy Matrimony to welcome as many or as few children as He sees fit to send them will not accept His Holy Will if they are incapable of having children.

There is a long history of infertile couples over the centuries who have chosen to adopt children. Some of these couples continue to do so quite generously in our day. The logic of contraception is such, however, that the desires of the couple, whether married or not these days, are the sole determinant of how many children to have and what to do if even morally acceptable surgical remedies are incapable of rendering an infertile man or woman fertile.

It is this narcissistic and sentimentally-driven belief that led certain scientists who have no regard for the laws of God to create a “market” for the infertile by means of in vitro fertilization. This immoral process of creating a human being outside of the laws ordained by God was based on the expectation that untold thousands of fertilized human embryos, who are human beings, will die before being implanted within a woman’s uterus. Perhaps it should be noted that it came to pass that artificially fertilized human beings were implanted in the wombs of “surrogate” mothers. A very profitable money-making industry was created to cater to human sentiment in an era when people are indifferent to, ignorant or just plain hostile to the laws ordained by God. No one who believes in “exceptions,” contraception, sterilization, or in vitro fertilization is “pro-life” and has no authority from Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to act as “negotiator” between good and evil. Period.

The recent Fox News report about Donald John Trump’s interview of Howard Kurtz on Media Buzz concluded as follows:

While he has not officially announced his recommendation for abortion, his stance on the issue illustrates the changing attitudes and strategies among Republicans.

"If the Republicans spoke about it correctly, it never hurt me from the standpoint of elections. It hurt a lot of Republicans," Trump told host Howard Kurtz. "But I tell people, No. 1, you have to go with your heart. You have to go with your heart. But beyond that, you also have to get elected, and if you don't have the three exceptions, I think it's very, very hard to get elected." Interjection Number Two:

The only way to speak about the killing of innocent babies is as follows: God forbids the direct, intentional taking of innocent human life. There is never any “choice” to be made, only love to be given, and even mothers who find themselves in what are considered difficult circumstances, including victims of an assault upon their bodily integrity, have all the graces necessary to heroically carry life with love and then to nurture their baby both spiritually and temporally.”

There is a direct connection between the random, barbaric savagery that has been let loose in a world wherein anyone is at risk of a violent attack from a stranger at any time and in any place and the devaluing of innocent preborn life and making it subject to execution, no matter whether by chemical and surgical means.

And, President Trump, believing Catholics do no “go with their heart.” Believing Catholics “go” with the immutable laws of God that He has written on the very flesh of our hearts, which are informed and guided solely by pleasing Him in all things without “exception.” Moreover, what good is it to get “elected” based on a lie that will cause one to keep lying and compromising for the sake of the “next” election and the one after that and the one after that?

As I keep trying to remind the readers of this website, evidently to very little effect, the dose of the so-called “lesser evil” must become indistinguishable from the alleged “greater evil” the more that those who make compromises for the sake of expediency, an expediency which always winds up institutionalization “lesser evils” to such an extent that they become, politically and practically speaking, impossible to reverse.

Those seeking elected office must speak the truth in love and be willing to suffer losses in this passing, mortal vale of tears so as to plant a few seeds that might convince one or two people of the simple fact that no one has the authority to take an innocent human life at any time for any reason. We run each day for the Divine favor, not for the favor of mere men.

Donald John Trump has rightly criticized Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., as an abortion extremist. This is true. Of course. I, for one, have criticized Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., for over fifty years, and I do so once to his very face forty-four years ago while teaching at the then-named Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. I have condemned Biden’s absolute support for baby-killing without exception numerous times, including most recently in Biden Banks on Baby Butchery to Keep His Nominal Job, Forgetful Biden Never Forgets to Use Demagoguery, part one, and Forgetful Biden Never Forgets to Use Demagoguery, part two.

However, anyone who supports a single attack upon innocent human life, whether by chemical or surgical means, is an abortion extremist as it is quite extreme for mere vessels of clay to defy the Author of Life Himself by daring to boast of making “exceptions” to the Fifth Commandment’s binding injunction: “Thou shalt not kill.”

Here is a reminder to anyone in public life, Catholic or not, who dares to promote any form of baby butchery under cover of the civil law:

Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven. Men and nations must be converted to the true Faith, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order:

Here we have, founded by Catholics, an inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)

No, Venerable Brethren, We must repeat with the utmost energy in these times of social and intellectual anarchy when everyone takes it upon himself to teach as a teacher and lawmaker - the City cannot be built otherwise than as God has built it; society cannot be setup unless the Church lays the foundations and supervises the work; no, civilization is not something yet to be found, nor is the New City to be built on hazy notions; it has been in existence and still is: it is Christian civilization, it is the Catholic City. It has only to be set up and restored continually against the unremitting attacks of insane dreamers, rebels and miscreants. omnia instaurare in Christo. In truth, of course, it is not only men such as Donald John Trump and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., who are clueless. Even we, chosen through no merits of own to be incorporated in the Mystical Body of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the baptismal font, are largely clueless about how our own sins, including our sins of tepidity and worldliness, have worsened the state of the Church Militant on earth as well as the state of the world-at-large, which is why we must meditate fervently on the events of Passiontide as we seek to make reparation for our own many sins by offering up the difficulties of the moment as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Woe to us if we find ourselves allied with the chief priests who plotted to kill Our Lord as described by Dom Prosper Gueranger in his reflection for Wednesday of Passion Week:

The Chief Priests and the Ancients of the people, are met today, in one of the rooms adjoining the Temple, for the purpose of deliberating on the best means of putting Jesus to death. Several plans are discussed. Would it be prudent to lay hands upon Him at this season of the Feast of the Pasch, when the City is filled with strangers, who have received a favourable impression of Jesus from the solemn ovation given to him three days back? Then, too, are there not a great number of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who took part in that triumph, and whose enthusiastic admiration of Jesus might excite them to rise up in His defence? These considerations persuade them not to have recourse to any violent measure, at least for the present, as a sedition among the people might be the consequence, and its promoters, even were they to escape being ill-treated by the people, would be brought before the tribunal of the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate. They, therefore, come to the resolution of letting the Feast pass quietly over, before apprehending Jesus.

But these blood-thirsty men are making all these calculations as though they were the masters. They are, if they will, shrewd assassins, who put off their murder to a more convenient day: but the Divine decrees,--which, from all eternity, have prepared a Sacrifice for the world's salvation,--have fixed this very year's Pasch as the day of the Sacrifice, and, tomorrow evening, the holy City will re-echo with the trumpets, which proclaim the opening of the Feast. The figurative Lamb is now to make way for the true one; the Pasch of this year will substitute the reality for the type; and Jesus' Blood, shed by the hands of wicked priests, is soon to flow simultaneously with that of victims, which have only been hitherto acceptable to God, because they prefigured the Sacrifice of Calvary. The Jewish priesthood is about to be its own executioner, by immolating Him, whose Blood is to abrogate the Ancient Alliance, and perpetuate the New one.

But how are Jesus' enemies to get possession of their divine Victim, so as to avoid a disturbance in the City? There is only one plan that could succeed, and they have not thought of it: it is treachery. Just at the close of their deliberations, they are told that one of Jesus' Disciples seeks admission. They admit him, and he says to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver Him unto you (St. Matth. xxvi. 15.)? They are delighted at this proposition: and yet, how is it, that they, doctors of the law, forget that this infamous bargain between themselves and Judas has all been foretold by David, in the 108th Psalm? They know the Scriptures from beginning to end;--how comes it, that they forget the words of the Prophet, who even mentions the sum of thirty pieces of silver (Idem, xxvii. 9. Zach. xi. 12.). Judas asks them what they will give him; and they give him thirty pieces of silver! All is arranged: tomorrow, Jesus will be in Jerusalem, eating the Pasch with his Disciples. In the evening, He will go, as usual, to the Garden on Mount Olivet. But how shall they, who are sent to seize Him, be able to distinguish Him from his Disciples? Judas will lead the way; he will show them which is Jesus, by going up to him and kissing him!

Such is the impious scheme devised on this day, within the precincts of the Temple of Jerusalem. To testify her detestation at it, and to make atonement to the Son of God for the outrage thus offered him, the Holy Church, from the earliest ages, consecrated the Wednesday of every week to penance. In our own times, the Fast of Lent begins on a Wednesday; and when the Church ordained that we should commence each of the four Seasons of the year with Fasting, Wednesday was chosen to be one of the three days thus consecrated to bodily mortification.

On this day, in the Roman Church, was held the sixth Scrutiny, for the admission of Catechumens to Baptism. Those, upon whom there had been previous doubts, were now added to the number of the chosen ones, if they were found worthy. There were two Lessons read in the Mass, as on the day of the great Scrutiny, the Wednesday of the fourth Week of Lent. As usual, the Catechumens left the Church, after the Gospel; but, as soon as the Holy Sacrifice was over, they were brought back by the Door-Keeper, and one of the Priests addressed them in these words: "On Saturday next, the Eve of Easter, at such an hour, you will assemble in the Lateran Basilica, for the seventh Scrutiny; you will then recite the Symbol, which you must have learned; and lastly, you will receive, by God's help, the sacred laver of regeneration. Prepare yourselves, zealously and humbly, by persevering fasts and prayers, in order that, having been buried, by this holy Baptism, together with Jesus Christ, you may rise again with Him, unto life everlasting. Amen."

At Rome, the Station for today is in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major. Let us compassionate with our Holy Mother, whose Heart is filled with poignant grief at the foresight of the Sacrifice, which is preparing.

How terrible is this our Defender, Who tramples His enemies beneath His feet, as they that tread in the wine-press; so that their blood is sprinkled upon his garments! But is not this the fittest time for us to proclaim His power, now that He is being treated with ignominy, and sold to His enemies by one of His Disciples? These humiliations will soon pass away; He will rise in glory, and His might will be shown by the chastisements, wherewith He will crush them that now persecute Him. Jerusalem will stone them that shall preach in His name; she will be a cruel step-mother to those true Israelites, who, docile to the teaching of the Prophets, have recognized Jesus as the promised Messias. The Synagogue will seek to stifle the Church in her infancy; but no sooner shall the Church, shaking the dust from her feet, turn from Jerusalem to the Gentiles, than the vengeance of Christ will fall on the City, which bought, betrayed, and crucified Him. Her citizens will have to pay dearly for these crimes. We learn from the Jewish historian, Josephus, (who was an eye-witness to the siege,) that the fire which was raging in one of the streets, was quenched by the torrents of their blood. Thus were fulfilled the threats pronounced by our Lord against this faithless City, as He sat on Mount Olivet, the day after His triumphant Entry.

And yet, the destruction of Jerusalem was but a faint image of the terrible destruction which is to befal the world at the last day. Jesus, Who is now despised and insulted by sinners, will then appear on the clouds of heaven, and reparation will be made for all these outrages. Now He suffers Himself to be betrayed, scoffed at, and spit upon; but, when the day of vengeance is come, happy they that have served Him, and have compassionated with Him in His humiliations and sufferings! Wo to them, that have treated Him with contempt! Wo to them, who not content with their own refusing to bear His yoke, have led others to rebel against Him! For He is King; He came into this world that He might reign over it; and they that despise His Mercy, shall not escape his Justice. May every Sorrowful Mystery we pray during this Passiontide help us to realize that our sins, having transcended time, helped to motivate the Jewish leaders to mock Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and to arrange with the cowardly Pontius Pilate, who was always at the ready to appease the mob, to sentence him to death as the crowd cried out “Give us Barrabas! We have no king but Caesar!”

We cry out “Give us Barrabas!” every time we sin, and we cry out “We have no king but Caesar!” every time we believe that it is necessary to “compromise” on moral truth in the effort to “win” a political that winds up inevitably being won on the devil’s terms.

The final victory belongs to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, and is on Our Immaculate Mother’s sorrows that we must meditate most fervently during Passiontide as contemplate her willingness to suffer her Divine Son to suffer and die for our redemption so that we might be partakers of the very inner life of the Most Blessed Trinity by means of Sanctifying Grace here below and then citizens on an unending Easter Sunday of glory hereafter.

Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.

Saint John the Baptist, pray for us.

Saint John the Evangelist, pray for us.

Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for us.
