Today, Tuesday, Augut 25, 2020, is the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost and the Commemoratoin of the Feast of Saint Louis IX, King of France, that great exemplar of the Social Reign of Christ the King. Saint Louis was taught by his holy mother, Blessed Blanche of Castile, to prefer death rather to commit a deliberate Mortal Sin. He heard two Masses a day and was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis, whose patron saint he remains to this day.

Saint Louis strove to rule according to the Mind of Christ the King as He had deposited It exclusively in the Catholic Church, recognizing that he, Louis IX, would have to answer to Christ the King at the moment of his own Particular Judgment for how he ruled his subjects. His letter to his son Philip is a succinct summary of the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. It is a model for how everyone in public life should conduct himself in order to please Christ the King as the devoted client of Our Lady, she who is our Immaculate Queen.

The next original article, which deals with events in the counterfeit church of concilairism, is being written. It is my hope the article published by Thursday, August 27, 2020, the Feast of Saint Joseph Calasanctius.

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to which the month of August is devoted, that heart that was pierced with Seven Swords of Sorrow during the Life of her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was formed out of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These twin hearts of matchless love suffered as one and they beat as one while on earth and they have beat as one in Heaven since Our Lady was Assumed into Heaven body and soul after her death.

Our Lady's Immaculate Heart was unstained by Original Sin or Actual Sins. The Immaculate Heart of the Mother of God, therefore, was capable of a purity of love of God and of her fellow men that is almost indescribable. Our Lady's Most Pure, Most Holy Heart despises the sins that caused her Divine Son to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death but at the same time is full of a perfect and completely pure maternal compassion for erring sinners such as you and me.

Our Lord, showing us His infinite compassion for us erring sinners, has sent us His Most Blessed Mother to provide us with her maternal assistance to get home to Heaven as members of His true Church founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope.

We have been given the Rosary, the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel, the Miraculous Medal, and the Green Scapular through her loving hands, through which flow the graces won for us by the shedding of Our Lord's Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross.

Her apparition to Juan Diego and the miraculous image of herself she left on his tilma helped to convert millions of Indians to the true Faith in the Americas.

Our Lady ratified Pope Pius IX's solemn proclamation of her Immaculate Conception by proclaiming herself to Saint Bernadette Soubirous to be the Immaculate Conception on March 25, 1858. And Our Lady's appearance in the Cova da Iria from May 13, 1917, to October 13, 1917, gave us Heaven's Peace Plan, one that runs through her Immaculate Heart.

We must endeavor at all times to fulfill, as far as we are able in this time of apostasy and betrayal, Our Lady's Fatima Message in our own lives, especially by praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit and by living penitentially as the consecrated slaves of her Divine Son through her own Immaculate Heart.

The era of apostasy and betrayal will end when the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is made manifest. We can play our roles, small though they may be, in helping to bring about this triumph.

Two books are nearing publication more or less simultaneously. I will have an original commentary within a few days thereafter, although "Naturally Absurd, part two" should keep anyone who is serious about reading it carefully busy for a little while.

This is a brief reflection about Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, who almost single-handedly revived devotion to Our Lady in the Twelfth Century and fought heresy with her maternal help and protection.

Anyhow, this commentary has undergone substantial editing and revision since its original posting on Sunday, August 16, 2020, the Feast of Saint Joachim and the Commemorations of the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost and of Saint Roch.]

The organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” will be meeting this week. They will nominate two-liked minded statist pro-aborts, pro-perverts for president and vice president, and they will adopt a radical platform.

So, what else is new?

This is what the organized crime family of the naturalist “left” has been doing since 1972, although, despite the George McGovern radicalized party platform, each of his two vice presidential running mates, United States Senator Thomas Eagleton (D-Missouri) and Robert Sargent Shriver (first director of the Peace Corps under his brother-in-law John Fitzgerald Kennedy) opposed abortion. Since then, it has been one radicalized platform after another.

So, it is only logical that this year’s will be worse the past.

Thus, I have no intention of subjecting myself to any of the agitation that this coming week will engender. While I may have something to write about it once the acceptance speeches are given by the fascists/Jacobins-in waiting, I am not going to waste my good Catholic time on the nightly events as I have in past years.

What is the point?

Indeed, some longtime readers might ask me what is the point of this long commentary that I am posting right now to remind them that false premises always lead to evil consequences. Always. Inevitably. Inexorably.

Why did I make this effort yet again?

Well, because I wanted to do so in the hope, perhaps furtive, that some people who are agitated about the current state of affairs that is occurring within the Providence of God to try, perhaps for the first time, to see the world through the eyes of the true Faith and to realize that our situation today did not occur overnight and will not disappear even if President Donald John Trump is reelected in November—or whenever it is the fraudulent vote count will be announced thereafter.

This is a long article that needs to be read carefully. One cannot simply skim this article. One must read it and take the time necessary to reflect on it in a spirit of peace and a spirit of dispassionate detachment from one’s presuppositions.

Our hope is Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary and total consecration to her Divine Son through her own Immaculate Heart, not politics.

Saint Joachim, the father of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God and the Mediatrix of All Graces, knew the contempt that would be visited upon His Divine Grandson, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, sent himself into voluntary exile after he was denounced by a priest of the Old Dispensation for not producing a child after twenty years of marriage to his wife, our good Saint Anne.

It was during his exile that Saint Joachim was visited by an angel, who reminded him of the fact that Abraham's wife, Sarah, did not conceive a child until she was ninety years old, telling him that his wife, Saint Anne, would conceive a daughter named Mary, who would be the Mother of God. Saint Joachim and Saint Anne brought their daughter to the Temple when she was three years old, giving their long-awaited child back to the good God Who had given them to her so that she could be the Mother of their own Saviour, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This should teach us to do everything possible to foster vocations to the priesthood and the consecrated religious life among our children, so that we can give them back to God so as to yield a spiritual bounty of souls in His service, especially in this time of apostasy and betrayal.

[Update: I have another full day of work on "Naturally Absurd, part two" before I can publish it. Today looks to be the day of its completion if I do not have the sort of unexpected interruptions that occurred yesterday.]

Today is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She who was conceived without stain of Original Sin and who committed no Actual Sins in her life did not have to have her body undergo the corruption of the grave, although she truly died and was buried after her death.

Separated physically from her Divine Son after His Ascension into Heaven on Ascension Thursday, although she received Him in Holy Communion, Our Lady was Assumed body and soul into Heaven to plead for us with her Divine Son as the Queen of Heaven and of Earth, the Queen to whom every man must pledge his heart's oblation, the Queen whom every nation must honor publicly with Rosary Processions.

Our Lady wants us to be in Heaven with her for all eternity. She wants our bodies to rise up incorrupt and glorious from the grave on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and Dead so that our bodies can be reunited with our souls for all eternity in the glory of Heaven.

We need to ask her to help us make such perfect reparation for our sins in this passing, mortal vale of tears that we will pay the debt of what we our for our sins now rather than in the fires of Purgatory. We need to ask her to help us to be serious about seeking sanctity as the consecrated slaves of her Divine Son through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.

What are we waiting for?

Our Lady, Queen Assumed into Heaven, pray for us.

This is a republished reflection on the life of Saint Clare of Assisi that was published originally in 2016. The reflection speaks to the timeless virtues of detachment from the world, self-denial, modesty and a total embrace of holy poverty for love of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Holy Church.

This reflection emphasizes Saint Clare’s rejection of worldliness and worldly pleasures. No matter what our own sins and failings with respect to worldliness might be now and have been in the past, Saint Clare’s life and holy example inspires us to quit the world once and for all and to prepare for the world to come by storing up treasures in Heaven that do not rust or fade away, and that no thief can take away from us.

Although this reflection is included in To Live in Light of Eternity, the virtues of Saint Clare of Assisi deserve wide circulation for as long as our civil minders permit this website to exist.

Finally,  I should have time today to complete a brief original article after I finish the editing work on Volume 5 of To Live in Light of Eternity and continue the process of formatting the anthology on matters of physical life and death for publication later this week. Time is short, which means that good use must be made of it before our Particular Judgment.

All right, all right. I was wrong about the decrepit pro-abortion, pro-perversity "Catholic," Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., choosing Michele Robinson Obama to be his vice presidential running mate. To call to mind the phrase that the scriptwriter put into the mouth of the fictional Chief Robert T. Ironside after a rogue cop who had promised to surrender pulled a gun on him and said that he was surprised Ironside fell for the ploy, the Chief said, "Nobody bats a thousand." Well, I can't even seem to bat .191 a lot of the time. Yes, nobody bats a thousand.

It was while proofreading the forthcoming anthology on matters of physical life and death in a world where mere mortals play God with the lives of children in their mothers' womb and make "end of life" decisions on myths that are designed to vivisect human beings for their vital bodily organs while mistreating others on the basis of "quality of life" judgments that a noticed a news flash on my cellular phone that informed this poor prognasticator that Biden had chosen United States Senator Kamala Harris (D-People's Republic of California) to be his vice presidential running mate.

Kamala Harris is an epic hater of Catholicism, which is why I am dusting off a commentary from twenty months ago so that readers can see that, yes, I will always admit my mistakes, and, more importantly, to learn a bit more about this egregious selectee, who would likely be the de facto president during much, if not all, of a "President" Biden's term.

Saints Tiburtius and Susanna, pray for us.

This is a brief reflection, written originally in 2009 and revised over the years, to honor our great Wonder Worker, Saint Philomena and also the commemoration of the feast of Saints Tiburtius and Susanna.

Although our Wonder Worker is not on the universal calendar of the Roman Rite, her cultus was confirmed by none other than Pope Saint Pius X. That's good enough for me! Jansenists and rationalists will have to find some other website to surf as this one makes no room for any skepticism about Saint Philomena and the honor and power with which she has been crowned by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This reflection includes text from a 1945 book, Wonder Worker: Saint Philomena, Virgin Martyr, which was written by Cathy Hallack and published with ecclesiastical approbation of the Archdiocese of Dublin, Ireland, in 1945, which takes note of Saint Philomena's vow of virginity, which she made at eleven years of age, and mentions the fact that Diocletian was married to Prisca from 286 A.D. to the time he resigned as Roman emperor in 305 A.D. This means that Diocletian's proposal of marriage was indeed adulterous and bigamous, analogous to that of Herod the Tetrarch himself.

It was thus very touching for us to receive Mass propers for the Wonder worker's feast from an 1898 Missal that included an entire Mass in her holy honor. This gift was sent to us by a friend of ours, one who does not agree with us concerning the true state of the Church Militant in this time of apostasy and betrayal but has not cast us out into the wilderness and down the Orwellian memory hole as lunatics These Mass propers are a tremendous treasure, one that our friend wanted us to share with true priests so that they can offer her Mass, perhaps as a votive Mass on a ferial day, in honor of our Wonder Worker, Saint Philomena. We thank our friend very much for making these propers available for those true priests who may not have had them prior to now.
