Revised and Expanded: Believing Catholics Pose No Threat to a Just Social Order

This commentary was published about eighteen hours ago.

To my utter horror, though, the article was published with all kind of hyperlink glitches that are not usual for this website.

Thus, I have taken out the glitches as well as revised and expanded this commentary with a view to publishing in book form.

I apologize for the problems of readability. However, the problems have been corrected. I am sorry.

Once again, his is a very long commentary that provides an extensive response to the unremarkable fact that the Richmond, Virginia, field office of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), circulated an internal memorandum, since retracted, that lifted the infamous “radical traditional Catholic” “hate group” list compiled by the Christophobic Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Christ or Chaos was listed as one of groups as it has been on that “hate group” list for eleven years.

This long commentary begins with a review of the similarities between the current efforts on the part of government apparatchiks to single out believing Catholics as potential sources of “domestic terror” and the historic efforts on the part of Communists, both past in Bolshevik Russia a century ago his year and at present (as is taking place now in Nicaragua and red China), to persecute Catholics. The commentary then provides an extensive history of anti-Catholicism in the United States of America before providing an extensive apologia of this site’s work.

As this site might as well not exist in the various universes of what passes for traditional Catholicism, it is indeed very interesting that notice is being taken of it in the secular world, and it this commentary has been written in light of this fact as there might be a few people who will now access it, perhaps out of curiosity, and it is for such people that I desired to provide a thoroughness in this presentation.

Everything that happens occurs within the Providence of God, and I am not in the least perturbed by these recent developments.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ knows all things. He is sustaining us in these challenging times and, very importantly, He has given us His Most Blessed Mother to protect us and keep us within the crossing of her arms and the folds of her mantle.

With trust in her intercessory power, especially through her Most Holy Rosary and reliance upon her Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel, we pledge ourselves always to serve her Divine Son as His consecrated slaves through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.

Viva Cristo Rey!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Saint Valentine, pray for us.

One Hundred Sixty-Five Years Ago Today: Our Lady of Lourdes's First Apparition

Today, Quinguagesima Sunday, is also the one hundred sixty-sixth anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in the Grotto of Massabielle near Lourdes, France. Our Lady explained to the fourteen year-old Bernadette that we must do penance for our sins and for those of others.

Can we do any less in our day?

Indeed, the state of the Church Militant on earth and of the world-at-large has worsened as the sins of men have grown more numerous and more daring and as most baptized Catholics have been deprived of access to Sanctifying Grace by virtue of the invalid sacraments offered in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. God is not going to permit any country that kills the innocent preborn with legal impunity and kills souls in the name of the falsehoods of "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press" and "freedom of religion" and a general sense of legal and cultural licentiousness to know long term material prosperity. Then again, these merchants of death have been enabled by the conciliar revolutionaries, who believe that signs of "outward penance belong to a different era in the history of the Church." We must indeed take Our Lady's injunction, "Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for sinners," most seriously as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permits.

Although some of those who access this site may be aware of it, a leaked (and later withdrawn) internal memorandum from the Federal Bureau of Invetigation's Richmond, Virginia, field  office included Christ or Chaos as a possible source of "domestic terror." (see  FBI Document Cites SPLC on 'Radical-Traditional Catholics', which is one of the few places that lists this site as being on the list as all "mainstream" Catholic reporting excluded any reference to Christ or Chaos, which is the only sedevacantist website on the "terror watch"). While I have written about the Christophobic Southern Poverty Law Center's inclusion of this website on their list of "hate groups" eleven years ago in  Chopped Liver No MoreTo Advocate Christ The King, Nothing Else, and Chopped Liver No More Update, I will, of course, address the latest development at great length.

Septuagesima Sunday: Preparing for Lenten Penances in 2023

Today is Septuagesima Sunday.

Lent begins in but seventeen days.

Easter is exactly nine weeks way.

It is time to start our preparations for Lent, time to start thinking about the penances we are going to undertake starting on Ash Wednesday in order to make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world as we prepare to enter deep into the mysteries of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The purple vestments representing a penitential season of Holy Mother Church make their reappearance today to remind us that we must be deadly serious about the business of making the best Lent of our lives as we do not know whether this Lent will be our last one on the face of this earth--or whether we will even live to see the end of this particular Lent! Let us use this time well as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

A new commentary, Jorge Mario Bergoglio's Support for the Unsupportable, was published yesterday.

Our Lady of Dolors, pray for us.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio's Support for the Unsupportable

Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s minimizing of perverse sins against nature has become so bold in recent weeks as to outdo all that he has done in this wretched regard in the past nearly ten years. This commentary takes a look at his appointment of Timothy Radcliffe to be the retreat master for Jorge’s “synod on synodality” later this year, his January 24, 2023, interview with the Associated Press, and his January 28, 2023, letter of “clarification” to James Martin about that interview.

By the way, there has been much talk in recent days of China Joe Biden’s refusal to shoot down a Red Chinese spy balloon that has been making its way across the United States of America. Perhaps the Chief Grifter of the Biden Crime Syndicate would do well to learn how the fabled Hekawi tribe shot down a Prussian balloon in the Nineteenth Century: Bye, Bye Balloon (double click on the link on Internet Archive OR scroll down to Episode 37, Season 2, Episode 3 on the list.)

On the Last Day of Christmas: The Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary

(Late evening update on February 2, 2023: Although it had been my expectation to have the next new commentary posted by this time, 11:45 p.m., Central Standard Time, there is just too much wok to do on it to continue at this late hour. I will, however, post it as soon as it is completed sometime late Friday, February 3, 2023, the Feast of Saint Blae, and thank you for your patience.)

Today is the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, always the humble handmaid of the Lord who humbled herself this day, the last day of Christmastide, which ends after Holy Mass today, by submitting to the rituals of the law although she was not in need of such a ritualistic purification because of her Perpetual Virginity.

This is the day that Our Lady presented her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in the same Temple where He would be found twelve years later answering questions of the rabbis, the same Temple whose curtain would be torn in two from top to bottom as He breathed His last on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us, thereby signifying the permanent end of the Old Covenant and the supersession of Judaism by Catholicism as the true religion. The aged Simeon, who waited patiently every day in the Temple for the fulfillment of the promise that God had made to him, that he would not die before his eyes had seen and his arms had beheld the Messiah, sent the first Sword of Sorrow plunging through Our Lady's Sorrowful and and Immaculate Heart when he prophesied that the Child he beheld would be destined for the rise and for the fall of man, a sign to be opposed, a Sign of Contradiction. We must never fear to be signs of contradiction in our own lives in imitation of the THE Sign of Contradiction, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as He hung on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us as he was mocked and reviled by the very people from whose stock He had taken His Sacred Humanity.

We must be willing to suffer all manner of calumny and humiliation for the many times that we have preferred human respect to fidelity to Our Lord, for the many times we have refused to call upon Our Lady's maternal intercession, for the many times we have refused to "take sides," especially in our day by refusing to reject conciliarism and its ravenous wolves once and for all.

A new commentary will appear by tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Blase.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

On the Feast of Saint John Bosco

Today, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, is the feast of the great Saint John Bosco, to whom we are very devoted. This is a revised reflection on an extraordinary priest who had a zeal for the salvation of souls in his youth, a zeal that would last until he died on this date in 1888, one hundred thirty-five years ago.

Saint John Bosco stands a rebuke to everything that manner in which the conciliar revolutionaries refuse to seek converts to what they think is the Catholic Church and the manner in which they reaffirm unrepentant sinners in lives that could lead them to Hell for all eternity if they do not go to Confession and amend their lives. This brief reflection, written about nine years ago now, is an effort to capture the spirit of this magnificent teacher of the young, mystic and zealous apostle of souls.

Today's offering a republished reflection on the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle.

My annual commentary on the anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, January 22, 1973, has undergone an enlargement with substantial revisions. It should be published sometime by Thursday, January 26, 2023, the Feast of Saint Polycarp.

Work on part six of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus" has been consuming my time as well. I imagine that it will not be until this weekend before the article is ready to be published. Thank you.
