A King Whose Sovereignty is Universal and Eternal

Today is the great feast of the Universal Kingship of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, instituted by Pope Pius XI by the issuance of Quas Primas, December 11, 1925, to counteract the naturalism and the anticlericalism that was spreading so wildly in the world and attracting so many Catholics away from the Faith. This is ninety-second observance of the Feast of Christ the King since its institution.

A revised reflection will follow shortly. (I was unable to do any work after posting my reflection on Saint Jude Thaddeus as the onset of an unexpected illness overcame me. Penance is good!)

A blessed Feast of Christ the King to you all!

Vivat Christus Rex! Viva Cristo Rey!

Saint Jude Thaddeus: Our Help in These Times of Disarray

Although well after First Vespers for the Feast of Christ the King, this reflection on Saint Jude Thaddeus and his great intercessory power is being posted. Special attention is given in tihs article to the fact that Saint Jude Thaddeus carried on his person the Holy Shroud on which is impresed the image of the Holy Face of Jesus. Devotion to the Holy Face is one of the ways God has given us in this time of apostasy and betrayal to make reparation for the crimes of all blasphers and communists, including the conciliar revolutionaries.

Relevant at One Hundred: The Message of Our Lady of Fatima

This reflection on the message of Our Lady of Fatima, which includes brief reflections on the liturgical feasts that took place (or were to take place in the future) on each of the dates of Our Lady’s apparitions to Jacinta and Francisco Marto and Lucia dos Santos in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal, one hundred years ago, took the better part of a week to complete.

While there are other commentaries upon which work has been started, much time was taken to complete this reflection as I believe anything that can be done, no matter how miniscule in comparison with the work of others, to promote the cause of Our Lady’s Fatima Message is worth all the time necessary to complete it. Thank you for your patience as this was being written and finalized.

Also, Jorge Mario Bergoglio has laid down the law to Robert “Cardinal” Sarah, the prefect of the conciliar Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, concerning Sarah’s efforts to spin Magnum Principium, September 3, 2017, into a means to reaffirming the power of conciliar dicasteries in Rome over national episcopal conferences concerning the translation of liturgical texts into the vernacular (see the story at Jorge Clarifies Shitft of Liturgical Translations from Rome to the Local Level.) In other words, it’s liturgical free-for-all time, which is pretty much what it has been in the past forty-eight years despite various efforts by Karol Joseph Wojtyla/John Paul II and Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI to curb “abuses” in the liturgical abuse par excellence, the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical service.

My own commentary on Magnum Principium was posted early last month. It might be worth a review in light of the Argentine Apostate’s correction of “Cardinal” Sarah: Jorge Codifies His Irreversible Revolution/Jorge's Intellectually Dishonest Defense of the Indefensible, part three.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

Pope Saint Evaristus, pray for us.

(A postscript: I owe e-mails to two readers of this site. As I have been singularly focused on the completion of the new reflection and am very tired as this is being posted, I beg the patience of these readers until later today, the Feast of Pope Saint Evaristus.)

Update on the Feast of Saint Raphael the Archangel

Yes, work on the next article, a new and rather lengthy reflection of Our Lady's Fatima apparitions in connection with the dates on which those apparitions took place, is progressing. As it is no longer possible even to make an exception occasionally to stay up during the overnight hours to complete articles, it is necessary to cease work around Midnight and then pick it up again the next day.  There is not too much more work to be done. However, I want to excercise care in the commentary's completion.

Similarly, the same kind of care is being taken with part three of my series on the address that Bergoglio delivered two months ago now to the Italian Liturgical Conference. Indeed, this particular commentary is proving to be one of the most difficult that I have ever written because of the extensive documentation required to make various points. It is possible that two shorter articles (afer the one on Fatima) may appear before I conclude the series on Jorge's intellectually dishonest defense of the indefensible, namely, the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical service.

Speaking of that abomination of desoluation, today, October 24, 2017, the Feast of Saint Raphael the Archangel, is the fiftieth anniversary of the "Missa Nomativa" that Annibable Bugnini staged for cardinals and bishops in the Sistine Chapel. The "Missa Normativa" was the protoype of the Novus Ordo that had been concocted synthetically by Bugnini's Consilium. While the abomination had the support of seventy-one bishops, sixty-three voted yes with reservations, and forty-three simply rejected outright.

The Archbishop of Westminster, John Carmel "Cardinal" Heenan (he was conscrated in 1951 but made a "cardinal" in 1963 by Giovanni Battista Enrinco Antonio Maria Montini/Paolo il Malato) who impemented the Novus Ordo service in 1969 as "best" he thought possible after some minor changes had been made form the Missa Normativa staged fifty years ago today, explained his objections to the Missa Normativa in an intervention made thereafter that are qutie telling

Like all the bishops I offer my sincere thanks to the Consilium. Its members have worked well and have done their best. I cannot help wondering, however, if the Consilium as at present constituted can meet the needs of our times. For the liturgy is not primarily an academic or cultural question. It is above all a pastoral matter, for it concerns the spiritual lives of our faithful. I do not know the names of the members of the Consilium or, even more important, the names of their consultors. But after studying the so called Normative Mass it was clear to me that few of them can have been parish priests. I cannot think that anyone with pastoral experience would have regarded the sung Mass as being of first importance.

At home it is not only women and children but also fathers of families and young men who come regularly to Mass. If we were to offer them the kind of ceremony we saw yesterday in the Sistine Chapel [a demonstration of the Normative Mass] we would soon be left with a congregation mostly of women and children. Our people love the Mass, but it is Low Mass without psalm-singing and other musical embellishments to which they are chiefly attached. I humbly suggest that the Consilium look at its members and advisers to make sure that the number of those who live in seminaries and religious communities does not exceed the numbers of those with pastoral  experience among the people in ordinary parishes.

Here are a few points which solely for the sake of time - since only five minutes are allowed for comments - must be put so shortly as to sound brusque.

1. The rule of prayer is the rule of faith. If there is to be more emphasis in the Mass on Bible readings than on Eucharistic prayer, the faith of both clergy and people will be weakened.

2. There is more need than ever today to stress the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. No change in the Mass should be made which might seem to throw doubt on this doctrine.

3. Many bishops in this Synod have spoken of the need of coming to the rescue of the faithful grown restless and disturbed on account of too frequent changes in the Mass. I must therefore ask what attitude the Consilium wlll take to these warnings from the pastors of the Church? I confess in all seriousness that I am uneasy lest the liturgists say "These bishops know nothing about liturgy." It would be tragic if after the bishops have gone home no notice were to be taken of their opinions.

4. In my diocese of Westminster - and in several English dioceses - the rule is that at least one Mass each Sunday must be celebrated in Latin. It would be a great help if the Consilium were to tell the whole Church how the Latin tongue can be preserved. If the Church is to remain truly the Catholic Church it is essential to keep a universal tongue.” (As found at a Novus Ordo presbyter's website: Getting Cardinal Heenan Right.)

No, I will not wish anyone a "happy anniversary." This day was no less "black" fifty years ago today that had been Black Sunday two days before that year as the altered Roman Canon was said in Latin in the vernacular for the first time in the United States of America.

However, I do wish you all a blessed Feast of Saint Raphael the Archangel, and thank you for your patience as the next article is completed.

Jorge Would Have Us Believe That The Adversary Himself Leads All Men to Our Lord

Although I am working on several other articles, today’s commentary focuses on an address that Jorge Mario Bergoglio gave to the “World Methodist Federation” on Thursday, October 19, 2017, the Feast of Saint Peter of Alcantara. Suffice it to say that Bergoglio would have us believe that even the Adversary could bring us to a “a true knowledge of Christ.”

By the way, we still need non-tax-deductible financial gifts. One friend provided such a gift privately. However, more are needed to defray the recent unexpected expenses. Thank you.

From 2011: As The Old German Fowler Sets More Snares, part one

Although I am working on no less than four new articles, the first of which may be ready fo posting by tomorrow, Friday, October 20, 2017, the Feast of Saint John Cantius, a recent post on Novus Ordo Watch Wire contained speculation from Una Voce Federation in Malta that the Argentine Apostate (aka "Pope Francis") might change Joseph Alois Ratzinger's Universae Ecclesiae, April 30, 2011, to force those traditionally-minded priests/presbyters who belong to indult communities or who offer/stage the modernized version of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition under diocesan auspices to follow the liturgical calendar and to use the readings of the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical service.

Whether or not this speculation turns out to be accurate is pretty irrelevant as everything about the counterfeit church of conciliarism should be irrelevant to the life of a believing Catholic. However, I did write a four-part series on Universae Ecclesiae in 2011 that I have taken the time to re-format for posting on the software "platform" on which these site has existed for the past three yaers. Readers will see that I had reiterated my conviction, expressed first upon the issuance of Summorum Pontificum on July 7, 2007, that the old German Modernist by way of the "new theology," Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, laid a trap for traditionally-minded Catholics, and that trap continues to go snap, snap, snap.

Parts two through four should be posted within a relatively short amount of time. Thank you,

Please continue your prayers for my health and I once again appeal to readers of this site for whatever non-tax-deductible financial gifts they might be able to make. Thank you.

Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque: The Suffering Servant of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Do you think that you have sufferings from family members or associates?

The saint whose feast is celebrated today, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, was favored with visions of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in her childhood, and he believed this to have been a normal experience that any child might have. Even as a child, therefore, this favored child of Our Lord's was blessed with tremendous sufferings from a pair of domineering paternal aunts, who persecuted her and her mother after her father's death. This early childhood suffering, which was accompanied by a physical affliction that left her bedridden for four years, was just a preparation for the suffering that Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque endured to spread public devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at the specific request of Our Lord Himself.

The hearts of men had grown cold because of Jansenism when Our Lord revealed the secrets of His Most Sacred Heart to Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque in the Visitation Convent in Paray le Monial, France, between December of 1673 and June of 1685. We cannot let our own love for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus grow cold in our hearts. We must forgive as we are forgiven, and we must remember the high price of infidelity that France paid for the refusal of King Louis XIV to consecrate the whole of France, and not just Paris, to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (as is related in an appendix to this article).

This is being posted late on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, because the visit I made to a cardiologist yesterday, Monday, October 16, 2017, the Feast of Saint Hedwig, revealed that I am, despite the pronouncment of the young physician who saw me briefly in an emergency room on Friday evening, October 13, 2017, the Feast of Saint Edward the Confessor and the one hundredth anniversary of Our Lady's final apparition to Jacinta and Francisco Marto and Lucia dos Santos in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal, suffering from a few heart abnormalities that might require what is called an "oblation" to stabilize my beat, which has this nagging tendency to, say, stop, and then proceed. In other words, it is, as the cadiologist described it to be, an "electrical issue."

Given the history of coronary disease on my father's side of the family, which includes my late father's multiple heart problems (his brother had a pacemaker for the last twenty years of his life, I believe), various other tests will be run on November 3, 2017.

The most significant finding, which the physician on Friday night either missed or did not have the experience to recognize as life-threatening, is that my blood potassium level remains critically low. The cardiologist explained that this could cause sudden death, which is why he prescribed a super-duper dose of postassium chloride to be taken daily to overcome the deficiency. So much for "your numbers look great," which is what the young emergency room physician said in a brief visit before discharging me from five and one-half hours of waiting without any information.

The blood potassium deficiency, therefore, remains the reason that I am always so very fatigued. As a physician-friend of ours said, it is nothing other than the working of Our Lady's graces that I have been able to continue functioning at all.

I ask the readers of this site for their prayers and ask also for your patience with me as I try to complete articles, which take much longer now than in the past.

Moreover, I do intend to spend time putting out anthologies of the articles on this site as the heart problems, which are called "abnormalities" by the cardiologist, are a reminder that the Master cometh like a thief in the night but that it is still nevertheless a working of His ineffable mercy to be warned that He may come sooner rather than later! Deo gratias.

Now, all of this having been noted, we will be employing naturopathic means to deal with the coronary problems, following in a particular way the recommendations of the late Maria Treben in her book Health Through God's Pharmacy With Medicinal Herbs. A source to purchase some of the herbs listed in the book can be found at Maria Treben's Authentic Swedish Bitters. You will not be disappointed with Maria Treben's book.

Obviously, and all non-tax-deductible financial gifts will help us a lot at this time. Thank you.

Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, an intimate of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and a faithful client of Our Lady through her Most Holy Rosary, pray for us.
